Utah has a vibrant and active grassroots MAGA-friendly base but the establishment is powerful. Any candidate with an (R) next to their name has a very good chance at winning in a General election. That’s why the political machinery has to battle it out in the primary phase to get their candidate through. I’m confident we’ll get rid of Romney – if he chooses to run again.
People will have to go the extra step and vote AGAINST Romney in the General and elect a Democrat. Otherwise, he will be there forever. IOW, we don’t support Romney PERIOD. Romney and the never trumpers showed ZERO party loyalty to us. To return the favor is just dumb.
People forget the shenanagans the GOPe used to force Romney on the primary ballot after he lost their original and legal set up.
The sudden addition of any candidate who got X number of signatures on a petition now made the ballot, too.
Romney went only to Mormon churches and gained a mere 10-20 extra signatures to be legal, and “just in case.”
After that, it was either vote Dem or vote Romney.
