Moments ago Vice-President Mike Pence made the following announcement via Twitter:
“It is my considered judgement that my oath to support and defend the constitution constrains me from claiming unilateral authority to determine which electoral votes should be counted and which should not.”
Life as we know it is over, but in truth it occurred long ago. Our votes and voice are gone. Trump could not stop the onslaught, our institutions are just to corrupt. Propaganda is the daily routine. History is being rewritten. Pence and McConnell will be hailed as heroes, though they have presided over the death of what we hold dear. Declass will not happen and I imagine holding info back is a way POTUS can have leverage to protect his family. We are in 1984. There is no difference between Republican and Democrat.
The rebellion today is significant and puts a face to the resistance. New leaders will emerge. It will not be easy. Though we may not have a vote we can at a minimum take action through boycotts. I imagine that over the next few weeks there will be many other forms of resistance that will develop. Long term, take a page from Abbie Hoffman playbook, some of us need to infiltrate the enemy, blend in, register in Dem or Rep parties, not because you believe in their cause but because you can rock the ship, vote in local elections and primaries.

But he could accept all the proposed Electors, and leave it to the State LEGISLATURES (as he is required to do by the Constitution he says he follows) to resolve which Electors to be counted. That is not “unilateral….
This is absolutely correct. The uniparty pols pull this crap everytime. False equivalence. No one has asked him to pick and chose which electors to chose. They are asking him to send it back to the state legislators and let them investigate- as the Constitution stipulates

I never saw that happen.
Because the Republican state legislatures in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania & Wisconsin were on board with the Biden-Harris electors this was always going to be the outcome.
If the Republican controlled State Legislatures in these 5 states had a problem with electors certified for their states – they would have done something substantial.
