I’m not sure how it all sorts out — whether he’s forced to drop out, or if he’s so damaged that President Trump pulls a 50 state landslide — but Biden is toast. By a number of appearances, one of Barr’s major problems is that he believes his direct reports are doing their jobs. So, Barr leaves them alone.
Until Barr gets slapped hard with their malfeasance (e.g., Jessie Liu).
Unfortunately, government is filled with these sorts of bosses.
They believe it is their job to sit at their desks while their employees bring them completed reports and successes.
They do not appreciate employees bringing them problems. Leaving employees to not mention problems unless they can blame someone else.
This kind of attitude allows employees to go off and accomplish virtually zero.
When mid and end of year merit evaluations these employees bring in their notes of people they called, people to whom letters were sent, responses received and reports written. All fussy work and not the kind of work needed to ferret out incompetence, surreptitious wrongdoing, illegal actions or conspiracy.
Sessions and Huber are perfect examples.
I suspect Barr is not much different, just stricter when he must make a move.

DoJ does not necessarily have documents from CIA, State Department, NSC, NSA, etc. Barr can’t release what he doesn’t know exists. But there had to be vast numbers of documents on FBI and DoJ operations and assessments that could and should have been released long ago.

Mueller tried to show that a PDJT tweet/pardon might be ‘obstruction of justice’. This is 1000 pages of hard evidence of Barr’s obstruction of justice, imho.
I am more inclined to believe that this was a more or less subtle message to those gatekeepers who were formally blocking this release. DNI is a much different position than a Congressman. It’s an Article II bureaucrat versus an Article I elected representative politician. Entirely different reporting line, procedures, and working relationships. Learning how to word letters / memorandums, notes etc. and to whom they should be addressed, cc:’d, etc. cannot be something you pickup overnight.
I have personally wondered how a congressman can step over into such a bureaucratic role without training, but that’s because I’ve never working inside the Washington DC federal government.
I’m compelled by my own lack of relatable experience to allow DNI Ratcliffe a whole lot of leeway in his procedures before I could possibly start criticizing him.

Very interesting that he said very convincingly that Warner and pencil neck both threatened Haspel not to release the information requested by Trump. Dobbs pointed out that the Intelligence Agencies are in bed with the Democrat Party.

You are right Krash, I wrote too loosely. As far as FOIA, there must be a FOIA request which covers the records, and meets other FOIA standards for production. But any of these 1000 records which are covered by a FOIA request (and Judicial Watch and many others have lots of broad FOIA requests in these areas) would immediately become subject to production if they were withheld because of being “classified”. Remember that even the $75,000 cost of an FBI conference table was withheld for “National Security” reasons. You and I could submit a FOIA for “the records described in ODNI News Release 39-20 -f October 7, 2020”. IMHO, you and I would not get them because they are still “classified”
Grand Jury testimony is not “classified” in a national security sense, but is withheld by statute for reasons of protecting the proceedings. None of the 1000 pages are likely Grand Jury records unless they were also “Classified” records that somehow were presented to a non-secure Grand Jury but still available from but otherwise withheld by an Agency. But Durham can get GJ records if necessary himself, using appropriate procedures.

OK. Here’s how I see it. We live in a surveillance state, cameras everywhere, but also, agents everywhere, even in pretty innocuous situations (a Ron Paul Meet-up group, buying silver eagles for gifts) I have run into people who acted so strangely, and arrogantly, I believe they were agents. These Deep Staters are paranoid as heck about us, and hate us with a passion only true control freaks (and that is basically what these people are) have. So, any organization WILL be infiltrated and disrupted/discredited/outright killed. This makes things difficult. What we CAN do is ammo up, become proficient at marksmanship, keep healthy (diet, exercise, spiritual care-PRAY!!), do the prepper thing as much as possible. Keep your eyes open, network with people you trust…small groups 3-4 people, do not divulge plans to leftist relatives, even kids, be ready to make decisions and act independently if the opportunity arises, and you have the ability and talent to help the situation. If things heat up, the lines will be more clearly drawn. Did I say PRAY?
My number one issue with Trump is his hiring choices. For a CEO, and one who was aware of the swamp, he’s made some really bad choices. His trade team was great. I think Carson and DeVos were ok. Grennell was shrewd but 3 yrs too late.
When he’s re-elected he needs to go hard after the anti MAGA layers. Consequences be damned.
I’m going to *partially* defend him here ?
1. Being a complete political outsider, he was literally unprepared to understand the dynamics of staffing up a huge government bureaucracy. Hiring for government is not the same as hiring for the private sector …. especially the big jobs.
2. So he had to depend on the GOP Establishment for recommendations….and he was ill served. The GOP was almost as opposed to him winning as the Dems. So they either refused to help….or intentionally recommended saboteurs.
3. It has taken him years to both figure out WHAT was needed, and to then find quality people willing to work for him.
4. As you noted, his economic team…and especially his trade team….were exceptions. This is because these skills translated to the policies he wanted fairly seamlessly — and he found people who agreed with him.
If he wins re-election, expect a much better functioning Administration right out of the chute.

I think the 20/20 hindsight-based criticism of President Trump’s initial staffing choices is mostly unwarranted.
I myself was extremely dismayed at the level of backstabbing and sabotage against the President from within the GOP. I knew the GOPe were not saints ad were corrupted, but I initially had no idea they would willingly be so deceitful against their own party President.
I maintain the GOPe have damaged and hurt their own reputations for the long run. History will not be kind to them. Had they joined with President Trump, they could have made history and be seen as heroes by patriots across the nation.
But their own narrow-minded greed and corruption has several of them not at all certain of re-election next month, and far worse, they have put the nation in extreme peril.
And the senate refused to permit PDJT to make his own choices. Any one, individual senator could demand a quorum when the senate was in deceptively fake ‘session’. The Senate and House could be kept in DC permanently until they declared they were in recess, at which time PDJT could have made hundreds of appointments of honest, capable people. Never in history has a President been kept from making recess appointments, much less by his own crooked party trying to keep its members from going to jail for corruption.
If PDJT just could have appointed an honest AG, instead of being saddled with protect-the-swamp-Barr, the entire presidency would be more productive if the laws had been equally and honestly enforced.

My number one issue with Trump is his hiring choices. For a CEO, and one who was aware of the swamp, he’s made some really bad choices. His trade team was great. I think Carson and DeVos were ok. Grennell was shrewd but 3 yrs too late.
When he’s re-elected he needs to go hard after the anti MAGA layers. Consequences be damned.

IMHO President Trump knows who has misled him and helped get saboteurs embedded in his Administration. Although he may not yet know of every spy / saboteur who is still working to undermine him, my guess is that he has his own “sources and methods” to protect his from these internal enemies and gradually root them out, expose them and replace them.
