Parler CEO John Matze appears on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo to discuss Parler.Com being deplatformed by Amazon and Big Tech.
Beyond the issues with Amazon controlling the server system for Parler, Mr. Matze outlines how the interior tech network, architecture and all subsidiary vendors notified Parler of their walking-away at the same time as the server notification from Amazon.
https://youtu.be/R9ZGPUwmK5Q
This interview about the challenges confronting Parler contains some context for the move CTH was able to accomplish in less than two weeks in November. Remember, not only did we have a time crunch, we were also determined to be anti-fragile with CTH 2.0
The key to Treehouse 2.0 was/is recognizing we are building something within a system that wants to see us removed. Being proactive made us better stewards for our conversation. Remember, YOU are the important part.
Despite some tech issues with the disconnect and migration from WP/Automattic servers to our own proprietary server system, we succeed. God and Angels on our shoulders.
Some background reminder so everyone can understand the big picture issues. Obviously WordPress/Automattic wanted us gone; however, in hindsight the unspoken purpose and motive behind our eviction is now making a lot more sense.
Based on insider information, there were two distinct issues that merged; sunlight upon them is against the interests of massive multi-billion dollar organizations, but at CTH the truth has no agenda, so here’s the inside explanation as it appears.
♦ Ideology – As they said in their post-election notification to deplatform, the “content” of CTH was against the terms of WordPress/Automattic:
…”given the incompatibility between your site’s content and our terms, you need to find a new hosting provider and must migrate the site by Wednesday, December 2nd.
This is not really a surprise as Big Tech looks for any obtuse or obscure reason to silence voices that are not in political alignment with their goals.
The decision by WP/Automattic is not surprising even if they would never publicly admit it. Quite simply, this battle has been going on for years and now it is at an inflection point. Alternates to the grip of Big Tech are starting to emerge, slowly.
♦ Business – In addition to the ideological nature of the motive, there is another element which has gained significant clarity in the past few weeks. Our CTH community did something WP/Automattic never expected… we were too successful.
The scale of the CTH reader and commenting community literally was/is a rebel alliance reeking havoc inside a host network that didn’t like our voice. Simultaneously, we were chewing up massive amounts of their server space and capacity. This is very interesting.
According to insiders who have reached out and shared their opinion, what CTH evolved into is far more than a simple blogging community. Essentially the metaphor provided is this: “you took a blog platform and built a mini FaceBook social media enterprise within it.” The CTH community, our extended global family of ragtag misfits, was/is using CTH as a network of like-minded friends to share and discuss information.
You might say well, isn’t that what a blogging community is all about… and the answer eleven years ago was a simple: yes. However, our assembly became much, much, much larger than a simple community.
The scale of having up to 25,000 simultaneous users is way beyond a simple blogging platform. CTH became a social media enterprise. Discussions, information sharing, networking and contact with each-other is what social media was all about.
The FaceBook social media model is essentially operating in our site. That’s an awesome outcome, but one WP/Automattic did not expect. In essence CTH hijacked the platform to create a social network.
All of that engagement costs the host (WP/Automattic) server space and massive amounts of bandwidth. Despite my paying for their hosting services (business plan), we were essentially living cheap, almost rent free, inside their platform. Once we realized this was also an element of concern, some prior work by WP/Automattic to control CTH made sense.
There is an interesting conversation happening in the coffee shops of Big Tech about this issue… WordPress/Automattic can never admit the unique financial problem that CTH created for them.
The business model for WP/Automattic is to sell the potential outcome of exactly what we achieved. WP/Automattic pitches their business plan by saying you can build a blogging community and share your voice.
Well, we took them up on that offer ten years ago and we built the biggest community within their system; a massive community. We did exactly what the marketing people at WP/Automattic say is possible… except we did it bigger than they ever imagined. Our success at achieving the scale of community created a problem they can never admit.
If WordPress/Automattic were to be honest now about the financial impact of users -like CTH- achieving success, they would be undercutting the entire marketing/advertising plan of their hosting platform.
The honest sales approach from WP/Automattic would be to say: we can provide you a platform, up until you achieve significant success; and then, it is in our financial interests, for you to leave. Obviously WP/Automattic would never sell their product if they were honest… so they look for reasons, any reasons, to control or eliminate the community. THAT appears to have been a big part of what drove their decision.
It was not a surprise that WP/Automattic kicked-us out immediately after they went into the market to get more money to expand operations. CTH was costing them money, perhaps a lot of money. As a consequence not only were they hosting a voice against their ideological interests, that voice was so big it was costing them money. Combine both factors and you get the insufferable excuse “your content” is against our interests.
Believe me, this financial ‘cost to host‘ issue is a big topic in the background of conversations in the tech industry. The hypocrisy of selling a product they do not really want to see succeed is a very interesting conversation. Sunlight upon this motive in the world of tech is kinda funny. The Automattic members can never allow this to be widely known; but the people within the machinery know exactly what the issues are.
♦ So, what does that mean to CTH 2.0? Well, we have a big server network hosting us right now – and it ain’t cheap (by a long shot). To give you an idea of how unique this situation is, they cannot calculate cost until they see the Content Delivery Network (CDN) data-results for scale.
This is uncharted territory. Our commenting community, specifically the number of simultaneous users, is essentially like a mini Facebook inside their server network. No-one has any idea how to manage this outside of pre-existing social media platforms that generate millions/billions in upfront revenue and construct proprietary and dedicated server farms.
It’s a good problem.. so everyone says.
It’s a good problem from the perspective of those who would love to monetize our network/community. However, that is not the purpose of our assembly.
To the extent our community will need money to securely exist and thrive safely, publicly and with privacy protections on an independent platform, that is ok. However, we will not collect any data on users at any time. The true value in our community is our fellowship and the search for the truth.
I’m not following how the success of the CTH, the former customer of WP/Automatic, was a problem for WP/Automatic given CTH’s phenomenal growth.
It seems to me WP/Automatic is in the business of supplying Bandwith similar to how a Warehouse supplies scaffolding and square footage.
Does WP/Automatic not understand their costs and were they under charging CTH? I can’t imagine that.
Although, they and many other Tech Co.’s haven’t been profitable for decades from what I read.
In a warehousing situation it’s all about how many moves it takes to unload & load a 22.5 ton truckload and how tricky it is to get that tractor trailer to the dock, unload it, store it and then load the truck-out on the outbound end and distributing that 22.5 tons in the trailer to allow the tractor & trailer to again legally go over the roadways.
When you have 36 units on an inbound truck that accrue to 22.5 tons it’s less expensive to unload and warehouse that truckload than if there are 72 or 108 units that are on the truck totaling 22.5 tons.
That’s because you have to move less units and the units take up less space.
If the product is pallitized it is also less costly opposed to not pallitized.
Using the warehouse analogy, evidently CTH requires a lot more Bandwith (warehouse scaffolding/storage space) than the average WP/Automatic customer.
That’s a good customer. That means added revenue without multiple customer costs in several areas: customer numbers, locations, contacts, etc.
Now if WP/Automatic has to obtain new real estate and build a new building just for the amount of space needed to service CTH who has grown to a huge percentage of AP/Automatics existing floor space capacity and that new land and building is going to cost WP/Automatic Warehousing a huge amount of money that they would not otherwise need to spend were it not for CTH’s explosive growth, that means WP/Automatic has to sharpen their pencil and price it out for the CTH.
Good business practice would be to tell CTH more Bandwith as of X date will cost X because of the need for new Land, Building/s, Servers to accommodate CTH alone. All this would be finalized by a contract.
Then let CTH make the decision.
Does anybody think for one second Amazon would launch a customer with such explosive growth as CTH?
Hell no. They’re supplying Bandwith to the United States Government who’s flat broke.
This is all about the content and social transparency that the CTH built — and the appeal/popularity of the CTH.
WP/Automatic can’t come out and say that because it would draw attention to the CTH which is what WP/Automatic and the rest of Big Bolshevik Tech and the Bolshevik Democrat Party do not want.
It might also get people to scratch their heads and say, “Gee, how did 5 states virtually stop tabulating on the evening of the election and who coordinated it, and how did all the other irregularities happen?”
Our government and tech companies are acting exactly as though they were Chinese.
I wonder why?
It’s not about business.
It’s about ideology and leverage.
WordPress is either a libtard led company or fears retaliation from the internet giants.
They’ll sell us out because Google, Facebook, and Twitter own Joe Biden.
Its about ideology AND business. Money means power and it is, ultimately, about power.
The Communist Party China owns the Biden’s. The tech industry does what the CCP tells them.
I’ve been telling you who coordinated it for months. These people, who work for us. The same people who at every turn have SILENCED YOUR VOICES AND STOLEN YOUR VOTES. WATCH the video.

Your questions lead to answers that are important to think through and chase down. The globalists spent decades draining the life from America to build up the red dragon for this day. Big Tech was crucial in paving the road for them.
I watched the transformation from “high tech” to big tech”, from the inside. It changed very rapidly from open market competition to monopolistic. As consumers, we were crucial to this transformation by embracing, without question, all the “free stuff” we are offered. Free email, free applications, free website hosting, “free cellphones”, free internet searches, free navigation, free video conferencing, free photo storage, free movies and games..
Of course none of it is free. First, free-market competition was rigged. Unlimited global capital was poured into the companies designated to be the bigtech monopolies. Venture capital was poured into the smaller companies which are gobbled up later.
When we click “I Agree” button for free software services, we are paying a big price that we only realize later. We give away our personal data which is extremely valuable. We give away all of our rights to privacy and protection by law (including 4th amendment.). We give away our 1st Amendment freedom of speech by giving BigTech monopolies ownership of it.
WordPress charges a flat charge (by month or year) for using their platform, and it is quite small. It doesn’t matter how much server space or traffic a website has. Their business model is designed for small websites (like the one that I run), not for a website like CTH. They weren’t making any money (other than through ad revenue) from CTH.
Even the eCommerce business plan from WordPress costs only $45 a month. The plan I have is $8 a month.
If you participate in their WordAds program, it covers your monthly cost, and more.
Thank you for this info!
Thank you for that insight Stella.
So effectively WP probably low-balled the cost of service to get market share figuring they had time to work it in to as profit cost agreements termed-out.
But CTH drop a Baby Ruth on that given CTH’s success.
CTH cost WP so much they might have put them under.
I’ve seen that WP scam in my trade.
Eventually, market forces wipe out the low-baller or the guy guaranteeing anything.
Thanks again for the info,
I was a test engineer – on the development side (not the oops we shipped and it doesnt work side) and I was in the storage end of it as early as the when you still repaired hard drives, and I was in it when RAID was just being developed also in test engineering and I was in it at the start of Networked Engineering. Not only did I have a deep understanding of how it was developed, I also had/still have a deep understanding of how it it designed and supposed to work. Around 2000-ish, the Cloud thing started and the Corporation I worked for which sold Networked Storage appliances (NAS/SAN) to the biggest entities with the biggest clearances on the planet decided “Cloud” would be a great thing because more customers.
One fundamental point is that the vision of Cloud Storage was always going to be that it would become a utility type of service. And like any utility – no payment, no electricity, water, whatever. And with Data Storage – no payment – no access to your data. Apple already tried it with their iCloud and customers revolted when they couldn’t access their data. So the idea was always to hold your data hostage for $. Ransom. CTH got off easy by getting to move all their data.
The next thing that must be known is that Cloud Storage is insecure in a load of different ways. Suffice it to say that if it goes through the air, it can be stolen. I won’t go into a long-winded thing.
Personally, I see it as a really good thing that all this is happening now. Owning all your own Server and storage gear has always been vital to controlling your security.
And it will be crucial for free speech to survive. i.e.: Parler, Trump being cut off from his base.
I was reading on thedonald.win
So Gab is funded by users. Apparently, Visa has now blocked funding for Gab by the cardholders. I don’t know if Mastercard is involved but we remember Mastercard’s history with gun control. It is reported most payments to Gab is by check or other form of currency.
Gab is using Cloudfare that its owners blocked Twitter lefties when asked if they would take Gab down. However, they said on The donald that Cloudfare caved to 8chan deplatform.
Banks are getting involved. This is, indeed, becoming like Revelation, it’s only a matter of time before it trickles down. Just like they started with Alex Jones, et.al.
Cloudflare (a service that TD uses) is trying to hold the fort. Their CEOs won’t stand listening to the EXTREME LEFT – The Donald – America First!
Visa blacklisted Gab and the owner’s family. Social credit is here. – The Donald – America First!
Andrew Torba, and his entire family (including parents, grandparents, and aunts and uncles) had all their credit cards canceled about a year ago. They have all been doxed many times too! What Andrew has done over the past four years has been nothing short of biblical! … And, he has done it while being snubbed, ridiculed, and ignored by *everyone*, including most conservatives, the Administration, and even the President.
What do we do? We can’t just allow ourselves to be cancelled.
Trying to access Gab via Brave I get Cloudflare message of 502 Bad Gateway (Dallas) when attempting valid login.
I get into Gab via Firefox, ugh.
I use Brave to access Gab, and don’t have a problem doing it.
Just got into Gab.com thru Safari. Monday 1/11 morning.
bad gateway means they’re maxing out. it will be fixed in a few days.
It could be fixed in 5 minutes, too.
sundance, are you planning to offer hosting for other WP sites (and others) that want to leave WP Automatic to ensure their independence? I believe you mentioned something like that at some point. This would be a revenue source for you as well as a terrific contribution to the community of conservative free speech. I would be willing to invest in a project like that or put money down for future access for my sites.
This free speech/revenue issue is only going to get bigger. Not sure if you already have or are contemplating setting up your own self-owned servers with international mirrors (sort of like Proton) but something like that would be a huge benefit and also could be profitable enough to self-sustain. You are in a perfect position to do something like this and would be widely supported, I am sure.
Sundance doesn’t host this site and, therefore, can’t host other sites. CTH doesn’t have its own servers.
I did not realize that. Is it a money thing – would more donations help?
Hosting your own site requires much more infrastructure – not just in equipment and buildings, but in people. Sundance is paying others to do what he needs when he needs it, rather than having to run a company in order to operate a blog. It’s not only money, although money always helps!
Thanks for your reply. Might be a goal to aim for. Sundance has the creds and there is a large market and need for a host like that. Might be an idea to gather names of people interested in investing and/or paying in advance for two or three years of hosting. Small sites do not use much bandwidth and if some grow, the contract can require compensation. The selling point is free speech guaranteed and privacy with a host you already love.
I could see Trump starting something like that to serve as a conduit?
Would be a good business if large enough investment to start it.
You may have seen this, but it is worth a reminder. A video of leftists calling for violence against conservatives. President Trump never called for violence he was asking patriots to gather and show Congress that we are many.
I was there and this was a false flag set up by DC Mayor, Capital Police, Antifa and the CIA.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUGKKHVt7pI&feature=emb_logo
I am sure you are right. What will be done? There is now no law.
I visit the treehouse most days to hear the truth, to make sense of the sensationalized and accusatory talk on the ‘streets’ of headlines. And to hang around sensible people shaking out information. Such places are fewer then I’d thought before Jan 7th.
The number of sites proudly silencing the President, within hours of the big show of legalism by Speaker Pelosi and Democrats and some Republicans signals us there will be zero tolerance for truth on these name brand sites going forward. The lines drawn are clear now. Where do truth seekers go?
There’s an abundance of Journalists projecting themselves as if they were writing editorials and giving speeches. Strong egos compulsively confusing self righteousness for truth. Now I see that in my lifetime I cannot expect a 50%-50%balance of conservative and liberal websites even though the populace is divided 50-50. CTH increases in value. Some of us look for the rubies and pearls, not the imitations.
I hear the explanation of Word Press’s business plan; of the space and bandwidth used. However, the speed and scope of and ferocity of deleting individuals voices within hours of the electoral vote is a strong warning that book burning, or today’s book deletion, has arrived. Next, will certain books on your Kindle be deleted like your comments? Or the replies deleted before they’re posted; the people replying given a 12 hr penalty for encouraging you and a warning they will be permanently blocked from popular sites they visited daily for a decade or two?
I expect the broad and vague PC language of what isn’t allowed will soon be refined by harsher language. The names of conservative voices automatically transferred in a nano second to every liberal tolerant only platform to be immediately blocked. Truth no longer a qualifier. Deliberate omissions to reshape truth into utopian fabrications. Open season for slander defended as truth; mockers elevated for their verbal censoring; the bullying of dissenting conservative individuals cheered.
I’m grateful for all the hard work and devotion to rescue the CTH. If rebuilding the treehouse wasn’t possible where would we all go to hear level headed explanations, knowledgeable insight and hear what others think and not just applause? Thank you very much to everyone who rebuilt the treehouse!
It’s been like taking walks in your neighborhood, chatting with your neighbors, and then the family with the treehouse in their front yard tells the neighbors they’ve been evicted because too many of them stop by too often and talk too much about the wrong things. If the neighbors are part of the problem they’re also not going to be the answer. The agreed upon solution was pretty unique. The entire neighborhood moved away together.
Totalitarian regimes are never going to stop. All these people cheering wiil have their time. It will start at the top. They’re smug in their arrogance, watch Yuri Bezmenov’s 1984 interview. He spells out what’s going on now, and what’s to come. It’s not pretty either.
I get that the leftists want to shut down speech thinking they will defeat us. But in any conflict, knowing what the “enemy” is saying and thinking is essential. So I wonder, isn’t Big Tech shooting itself in the foot in the long run ? Conservatives have abandoned liberal media outlets (I don’t want their propaganda getting airtime in my head), now liberal social media outlets (even those individuals who haven’t been banned are jumping ship). So how can Big Tech benefit if they can’t know what we are saying, thinking and doing ? I always thought the lamestream media was foolish for disenfranchizing half the country. If I don’t turn them on, they can’t influence what I think and believe.
Quit bellyaching about what to do.
Buy nothing from Amazon. Search nothing on Google. Buy zero Apple Products. Never visit Facebook or Twitter.
Cancel THEM!
Absolutely correct! All the tech giants are rich and powerful only because we the people made them so – they neither offer nor control anything that is necessary for life (food, water, fuel, etc), or anything that was even part of most of our lives only 10 years ago. Amazon and Google principally offer convenience, Apple peddles novelty, and all of social media serves mainly as an outlet for the runaway narcissism of people with nothing better to do. Neither convenience, novelty or narcissism will likely have much of a place in the type of struggle in which we are now involved. We all helped to forge the chains they are trying to use to enslave us, and with God’s help we can break them just as quickly.
Google is now one subsidiary under Alphabet that has numerous entities that run the life related activities look up! With ever increasing population these companies are involved with solutions to the problems that most people are not aware of what to do about! All things you mentioned they are involved! America is but convenience take that part out, what is left a 3rd world lawless country after the way last election was conducted!
Apples novelty ? The trillion dollar company or the biggest American company that designs hardware & computers & other devices those work without viruses and are popular with STEM professionals! Steve had his Macintosh built in Singapore 50 years ago! You know why?
The problem we are facing that we have had too much freedom to misbehave in our work environment that really pissed off the bosses! In that squabble Nixon at odds with unions inadvertently opened the door to China & Kissinger ran away without! The adversarial relationship created a symbiotic relationship that turned China that America was post WWII!
To avoid Google, use another search engine (DuckDuckGo is good), another browser (Brave or, even better, TOR), another email service (Protonmail seems the best currently, although I’ve heard of others), and another navigation service (Waze). If you have an android phone, there are ways to download apps that avoid the google store (I forget the names right now but they’re easy to search).
To avoid microsoft, install a new OS, like one of the flavors of Linux. You can find apps for Linux (often free like LibreOffice) that duplicate most of what I used to use in Windows. Added benefits from using Linux include enhanced security (the various flavors differ somewhat in that regard) and not having MS take over your computer periodically for half an hour for one of their interminable updates.
As a relatively new Linux user, I must confess that it’s something of a pain in the butt to use, but as I said in my post above convenience isn’t likely to be part of future life in the Rebel Alliance. As I understand it, life at Valley Forge was pretty damn inconvenient also.
Iron Marshal-“convenience isn’t likely to be part of future life in the Rebel Alliance. As I understand it, life at Valley” Forge was pretty damn inconvenient also.”
THIS!!!
For the record, Google owns WAZE, bought them a few years ago.
duckduckgo
Agreed, but we have to go much further than that. We need to stop buying from Walmart, Costco, and the other legion big box stores that offer Chinese merchandise. Buy NOTHING made in China!
I had a house fire and am in stores to buy things A2Z for the house restoration! TBH there is hardly anything you can find that is not Chinese made in the building supplies stores! The American labor just blew it joining hands w/ dumpcrats! and Slick Willy sold them down the river!
Most folks are not very tech savvy. Most don’t even know when or if they are on Google for example.
Hi AnnaS I am one of whom you speak. I have been a lurker since Trump came down the escalator. I no longer get CTH daily newsletters and I miss them no more than ever. How can I get back on the daily emails? Thanks
How the battle is won right there!
How do you replace your Apple phone. What out there is not owned by Big Tech??
Eventually you will be able to buy a Linux phone. Actually they are available now, but really expensive. Android phones are your other option.
Android is owned by Google.
Yes, I know that. Unless you buy a Linux phone, your two choices are Apple and Android. That is true, and what I said.
Which one do you own? Mine is an Android.
Keep an eye on what Gab is doing. From what I understand, they are close to offering a phone. They already have a web hosting/browser called Dissenter. I tried to install on my Mac, but Mac blocks it. Figures. I’m not too tech savvy – maybe another Gabber could opine? Anyhoo – look to Gab for some solutions coming to these issues. I’m trying to support them anyway I can – I have a small biz and use Apple square stuff – would love a better option there too!!!
Nobody is “bellyaching”. Yes, by all means stop doing business with these companies, if you can. Don’t forget that the Chinese will be happy to do so. I imagine that these companies won’t suffer much, unfortunately.
Always use “Duck Duck Go”.
Great search engine. They don’t collect your info. Works on Windows iOS or Apples iOS and…+? Make it your default. Dump the Google cookies on your computers or it will silently be presented first.
sorry but I’m not seeing this suggestion as terribly beneficial. From a financial perspective, Dorsey, Zuckerberg, Bezos don’t care if we close our accounts. their money is made and growing without my buying anything from them. Their employees may suffer if they are forced to downsize but the names I’ve mentioned are insulated from any boycott of their products/services. So, I can Hillary my cell phone (sldegehammer my android phone), quit Amazon, don’t buy Apple, never search on Google (already done that), quit FB and Twitter. Good. I’m still typing on a Windows (or Apple) machine and so are you.
They anticipated mass boycotts of their products and services looong before they chose to go down this road. They don’t care about our boycotts. it’s meaningless to them We need to be thinking about all of the ways they spy on us. How many of you are driving vehicles that have built in LoJack type tracking devices built into the vehicle ? didn’t know about that, huh? I spoke with a local Constable yesterday who told me that most modern vehicles have this capability. what other mechanisms do they have to track and find us ? Gates wanted to put a RFID chip into the Covid vaccine. How do you know that they didn’t ? OK, you ditched your phone, but your ISP and browser knows every website you visit.
You will not convince me that they can be dissuaded by a perceived financial impact of their political decisions. They’ve already anticipated this.
Let me make it simple; buy nothing made in China from anyplace see if you can find much stuff! All the big box stores & online sellers are Chinese outlets!
My grand kids just walked in with big bottles of Elmers Glue for their school project & I checked on the label all made in China! Hell it is number game China factory is 5~10 times US!
Jeff B shutting down Parler is looking at the skyrocketing profitability during the shutdown while his Chinese made stuff is being distributed by thousands of delivery vans all over the globe! He doesn’t like anyone talking about his profits. This CCP and its American partners are modern day East India Company. Americans are stuck
There is no substitute for Chinese diligent slave labor to fill-in the Americans’ wishlists! Where Trump had to do the speaking & twittering himself but Jeff had WaPo go after him effortlessly! There was nothing hidden on Trumps game while the united Dems & masters of the universe had planned the take over!
Gab signed up 600,000 new users yesterday alone! …
Andrew Torba, and his team of warrior geniuses! Nothing else can be said, except that they have been in the virtual foxhole fighting big tech for over four years now. and besting the enemy on every turn! … The 300 Spartans, are standing shoulder to shoulder with the Gab Team!
I’m a Gabber and fully support your comment.
Me too!
I joined this weekend too
I’ve tried to join gab and something is blocking me.. I use an iPad with a duck duck go search engine.. went to shut down my Twatter account and they have blocked me from that too will try to close my fascistbook account today .. will create new email account any suggestions would be helpful
yandex.com is free. hosted in russia. they offer some services for free that google charges a lot for.
you can get [email protected] there for free – it’s great deal and works well. google charges $11/month per user.
i don’t figure there’s much danger in russians doing anything with my emails.
The potential future problem now upon us is far more strategic than deplatforming here and there. It is all about the stages in eliminating meaningful opposition.
Wars and their battles, be they political or physical, are only won with the interchange of information, logistics and communications leading to organisation and co-ordinated plans followed by actions.
TPTB seem to be well down a path of eliminating this as a risk to them. As in, how in the situation that seems to be coming, will this be possible any more?
In particular, how do you organise and set up supplies for an event when almost the only way of securely communicating will be by word of mouth or hand passed letters or maybe CB radio? In effect nothing out of a local community.
The IC and the three letter agencies will be in the 21st Century, the Patriots will barely be in the 17th.
“The IC and the three letter agencies will be in the 21st Century, the Patriots will barely be in the 17th.”
This ^^^^^^
Exactly! There have been a lot of people here thinking that all they have to do is go back to a flip phone and stop using Google. That’s like saying it’s ok if the electric company shuts off your power because you can just use lamps that burn whale oil.
Perfect comparison. Exactly right.
Arming ourselves with vastly inferior tools is not a helpful solution. That is why CTH 2.0 is so important. Instead of going to whale oil, CTH and crew simply took the next step FORWARD in the technical evolution path when making CTH 2.0.
This is the better move.
private mesh networks over encrypted channels are coming.
Denninger had an interesting take on the Parler deplatforming: he basically said by doing this AWS was making it known that any company could be deplatformed at any time, rendering it an obvious violation of fiduciary duty for officers if a company to use AWS for any business purpose. If you decide to use AWS for business purposes and your business is destroyed by a similar deplatforming, now the case can be made that you had warning such was possible.
That’s great- if judges were not bought and paid for.
Every company is taking a serious risk by allowing their business to be hosted by these big tech monopolies. At a very minimum due diligence will require businesses to have a contingency plan in the event they were abruptly de-platformed. It is a real risk, the rational for de-platforming could be as flimsy as the action or words of one employee. Or it could be for no reason at all.
Our entire nation took an enormous risk by offshoring all manufacturing to a communist dictatorship, but they did it anyway because companies could save money. Same thing is likely to happen here, especially because companies don’t want to be political. They’ll think “We’re not running Stormfront. We’re just a community bank. We should be safe using Amazon Web Services.” Until some activist claims they’d been discriminated against and launches a boycott that culminates in AWS cutting them off.
I would be willing to bet $100 bucks on a long-play bet that the exact situation with the exact examples you used (community bank vs. complainer claiming discrimination) will actually happen sometime in the next 3-5 years.
Much sooner.
weeks not years
This is true, but no judge or officers will obide by this obvious truth.
Like so many things we lose; we lose not because we are wrong, but because the opponents just simply won’t play by any rules where they don’t win. No matter whether the rules are man made ones or natural rules.
you can do a lot with a raspberry pi re encrypted channels.
BUT – i expect encryption to be outlawed in PATRIOT Act 2.0.
The world existed before big tech. It will exist after.
The nativity is thick in DC. The same people applauding this will be the first to cry foul when they are sought out and silenced.
Then you may see action in Vongress. But then…too late.
How is the Speaker of the House running the country? How is she controlling the military? The CIA! The DOJ? The FBI? Because that’s what is happening…
Meanwhile she goes on 60 minutes trying to stoke feelz in the morons. And, sadly, there are a lot of morons.
I’ve been to China. We now live in China West.
We are done.
Dwayne-Thank Goodness you weren’t among the troops fighting at Valley Forge.
I understand your point about attitude, but not the best analogy in that the weapons technology was pretty much comparable on both sides. The colonist’s advantage was knowing the terrain and ability to fight like terrorists while the British lined up in formation making pretty good targets. What we are seeing now is quite different and has easily been in the planning stages since the first “Google camp” meetings around 2014. They had lots of time to develop the infrastructure that allows them full advantage. Everything we are discussing now has been anticipated by them and they are way ahead of us in thwarting any perceived impact that would tip the scales.
the fact that none of your predictions has come true is merely proof of your farsightedness, right?
The government and their big tech agencies could shut down CTH and target every visitor to this site. Since they could do it leads to the eventuality that they will. They can determine who you voted for and do the same. Not very long ago saying this would seem conspiracy lunacy but now it is an obvious statement of logic.
Uh Oh

It looks like Conservative Tree House was right about user privacy and security on Parler.
They’ll soon be going after the ISPs that don’t censor, restrict, or throttle, sites that engage in Unapproved Thought.
There will be a two tier system, just like in the criminal justice system, where ISPs sites supporting the global regime in suppressing Unapproved Thought will receive preferential treatment and protection from civil suits, and those that engage in allowing sites with Unapproved Thought will be relentlessly attacked by the state and competitors with no recourse in the courts..
This is going to be an epic battle that is going to require resources from the MAGA community to help finance communication infrastructures independent of the globalist regimes and their minions.
That will prove difficult for them unless the government (dimms) intervene, but they can try. Revenue for ISPs is all about selling bandwidth, a completely different revenue model from that of social media.
And all ISPs use the same pipes. Most don’t own the pipes. And then there is the big elephant in the room. His name is Elon Musk. He is putting up tens of thousands of satellites in what will certainly become the ultimate set of pipes. It’s called StarLink. Musk will own all those pipes. BETA testing for Starlink will start in just a couple of months.
Read what MH just posted above you from the BitBurner twitter feed. Imagine how hard it will be to do what you’re saying (not that it shouldn’t be done). Then multiply it by 100.
This was my thought, ISP/Access providers would be next. They just need to keep moving up the highway to the best choke-point.
The Google Play and App Stores were smart choke points for them to close off….there aren’t any phones outside those two ecosystems, so preventing an app on them is pretty much a total death knell to any significant adoption by the population.
Even better is to control the ISP bottleneck. Sure…..put up 10000 websites that we can’t control, but there is no way for you to visit them! All internet access points are controlled by woke companies….
Pretty soon, just like the crew in the Matrix, we’ll need our own “hacked/pirated” access signal to get in to the internet at all!
Don’t forget that YOU own your computer and that YOU can deplatform Google, Twitter, Facebook, Amazon and others TODAY.
Deplatforming is a 2-way street. CTH should deplatform these social media companies from the “share” links above.
And please add a share link for GAB.com
Big Tech is scared. Their bubble-burst is coming. COVID didn’t help them. Their universe is all held together by ad revenue.
They live and die by advertising revenue. Kicking people out might not be as much about ideology, they couldnt care less about what you believe, and would give space to the devil, as long as the devil generates revenue. It’s about money.
They are only scared about two things: Losing ad revenue, and government sanctions. Those two go hand in hand. Why do you think they used so much of their revenue to support the dimms? And now the dimms have fulfilled their part of that contract. Trump wanted to sanction and break Big Tech up. As simple as that. It was payoff time when the last omnibus bill passed without the sanctions Trump wanted.
Oh yeah, they’re just terrified.
They are. You see, ad revenue comes from one thing, and one thing only: The stupidity of people that use those sites. Ad revenue is worth a LOT when you can precisely target your clients. And that is what social media is all about.
The awakening is coming. It’s really simple. All of the smarter ones will wake up in the middle of one night and think “Crap, if they can do that to that guy/gal, they can do it to me!”
Kind of too late by then though, they have everything about you, from face recognition of you and your friends, down to the name of your dog. Everything geo-located.
I joined Facebook 10 years ago for all of two hours. It scared the HELL out of me, and so I swiftly cancelled out without posting a single thing. Then I changed my email!
everything you’ve stated is correct IF you are correct about the economics. I don’t think you are. You can’t possibly disenfranchise 75 million people if you are dependent on the revenue stream. Admittedly they believe if we have no alternatives we’ll return but they’ve anticipated losing a large percent of their customer base. Why do you think CNN could afford to lose half its viewership and still remain on the air?
I’m retired after 37 years in IT and all of it in data base administration, design and strategy/planning. I suspect I know some of the difficulties everyone on the CTH team faced during those very long days. I feel your pain.
My feedback of the implementation as a CTH customer is: Job Well Done! and Thank you!
A great job indeed!! That said, and you know this, The amount of physical overhead needed to run a site like this one is minuscule compared to say Flickr. The difference between storing text and graphics is HUGE. This site is 99% text and links. The programming to make it happen is a static quantity.
These days hard drives are big, and they are cheap. I’m sure everything on this site would fit on a single server rack or two, with redundant backup. This site eats bandwidth though, lots of it. That’s the expensive, recurring cost. CTH is paying for the rental of the rack(s), the tech support to keep it running, and the bandwidth. The first cost is depreciated, the second is more or less fixed, low and spread over many clients, the third one is the monster.
Did Treepers see or read this 2 Part news item yesterday?
(VIDEO) Big Tech Censorship Part 1: Google Whistleblower | Sharyl Attkisson
It reveals the mobilization after 2016 election of Google & You Tube & Facebook to prioritize (censor) on the web. The methods used, etc.
“all subsidiary vendors notified Parler of their walking-away at the same time as the server notification from Amazon.”
RICO. Collusive Oligarchs. Monopolies. Exactly what Dr Peter Navarro described Saturday morning 9 Jan 2021.
Dr Navarro’s original specialty. Dr N knows it well.
Not over.
Even Parler’s lawyers walked away at the same time. I hope there will be some eventual retaliation for them all. It probably won’t happen though with that dirty demented old man at the helm.
too bad there are no branches left in the gubment that care anymore…
and precisely who in government, with a Democrat majority in both houses, would you expect to prosecute this ? Since this is across state lines this would have be a federal prosecution and the Justice Dept is in bed with the Democrats who want all what we are seeing to happen.
As someone who no longer is on facebook or twitter, I have found it hard to sign into the old sites I’m a part of. Any ideas?
Digital kristallnacht has begun!
Equivalent to book burning?
This situation reminds me of:
Many reports on the Internet that President Trump wants to start his own news and media outlets when he leaves office. Looks like it is going to be virtually impossible for Trump to do this. Trump is going to be “Parlered.” Who will sell him the servers? Who will host him in the cloud if he cannot purchase his own servers? Who will provide the video, email and messaging services? Who will provide the electronic funding platforms? Which bank will accept the cash accounts? Which federal regulatory agency will blacklist any bank that accepts “Trump cash”? Which law firm will represent the Trump Organization to get these media properties off the ground?
The country is already unrecognizable, and we have not even reached January 20th.
I have wondered if POTUS could possibly become a silent partner for Gab. Torba has created many avenues like TV, News, working on a phone….sort of like a network.
I imagine if such a thing a thing took place it could change the landscape.
Google just kicked Second City Cop blog off. They are not accessible now.
On a lighter note, MySpace is still up.
wreaking havoc. not reeking.
As of this morning Twitter and Facebook were down 5 Billion and 41 Billion in market Cap respectively.
Some very wry humor there. Loved it!
I read some other blog sites that are Conservative….but these sites are by people who live in England. They have been reporting that their twatter accounts have been taken down by Totalitarian twitter and their blogs are under attack, etc. These people supported Brexit, support President Trump, care Christians, and….this is why I read them…..they mock the Communist dim Prince Just Call Me
Harry and his rabid Stalinist wife.
Was Word Press using borrowed server space from one of the big tech giants? If so, I would they had access to as much space as they needed to host CTH until they could purchase more servers and sources of servers. So I believe they did this to CTH was in coordination with Big Tech, who could see the danger of President Trump being able to overturn the fraudulent election by exposing the myriad of fraud schemes that were employed. Big Tech is responsible for the severe shut down of information about the effort to expose the fraud, and Word Press was targeted long before Parlor and other smaller entities. My knowledge of the world of Big Tech is limited, so someone please explain to me if this paragraph is an inaccurate description.
I think Big Tech has long been in bed with the CCP in order to be included in the massive Chinese social media and retail markets. Big Tech oligarchs are not basically Communists, but our 1st Amendment rights don’t mean as much as the trillions the CCP can help them get their hands on. Truly, we are being badly served by Big Tech because millions of individual customers can’t compete as a market with the profitability of billions of customers who are represented by only one entity to please.
The whole environment created by a free marketplace is much more difficult to monopolize. Big Tech will never reform without suffering tremendous consequences from anti-trust lawsuits from our Government. This is what makes a corrupt family, such as Joe Biden’s, much preferred over anyone who is already very wealthy.
Like Sundance always says, “Literally trillions are at stake.”
Ideology trumps dollars for the pure. Wait until the “revolution” and “resistance” runs out of easy targets and comes for them. It always does.

thought I was ‘pasting’ a picture of a post by Gab… about them getting a bunch of resumes from silicone valley…
We all have to assess our vulnerabilities and shift to services that are explicitly anti-censorship.
Virginia Project will be changing a number of its service dependencies this week in order to eliminate the clear risks that have erupted.
Public companies dependent upon cloud services will be required to provide a response to the business risk of de-platforming. Company directors have a fiduciary duty to make sure a company has a plan in the eventuality. It is not sufficient to say it is a small risk, who can predict what ‘issue’ might cause the big tech firms to blacklist and deny service abruptly.
I may have to drop Maria — she kept referring to the “disgusting” protests at the Capitol on Jan 6. My son was there — fewer than 100 (out of prob 1 million) went inside. He said when he got to the steps , too many people in groups using coms, looked hinky, and felt hinky, so he and his friends departed. He thinks it was infiltrated by communists —
