Do you mean she’s used to controlling a gang of disruptive, narcissistic, playground bullies who have barely mastered the art of conforming to a civilized culture? Her own youngsters, on the other hand, seem to be a well-behaved, respectful group, so she might have some adjustments ahead during her confirmation.

    Here is my take.

ACB is Catholic. Democrats will pound her. Most Hispanics are Catholic. Let the games begin!

Fifty-seven percent of adult Hispanics self-identify as Catholic. This percentage has
fallen from about seven in ten self-identifying as such in 2006 (70%). In CARA surveys,
38% percent of adult Catholics self-identify their ethnicity as Hispanic or Latino/a. This
has increased from about a third in 2000 (34%).
☒ The “retention rate” for Hispanic or Latino/a youth is 71%. Thus, seven in ten of those
raised in the faith remain Catholic as adults. By comparison only 61% of non-Hispanics
raised Catholic remain in the faith as adults.

I’m on the constitution train and support whoever will fight from the same train. That being said, the Supreme Court has brought this country to the brink with its lousy, rights stripping, lame brained, decisions, including many republican appointed judges. I hope I’m wrong, but I see her as a light weight. I would have preferred Stickman, who made the ruling in the Pennsylvania lockdown ruling. He stood up for the constitution. If the rino side of the uniparty are all in, you know she isn’t what we want in a judge.

Amazing. But his second opinion, denying the requested Stay of his original Order, pending appeal…did you happen to read that??

Prayers for her husband and children, really hoping that no Senate committee hearings are necessary, especially since the Democrat Senators on that committee are telegraphing they aren’t interested in meeting or questioning her, send the vote directly to the Senate floor after the entire group of Senators gets a chance to review her record.

All the complaining out of Schumer and others fear-mongering about how her rulings might affect their beloved special interest rights need to be reminded, if they want those :”rights” to stand-up in court, write better laws!

          Women vote.

Soccer moms vote. Working women vote. Single moms vote. Uneducated and highly educated Moms vote. North, South, East and West Moms vote. (Especially this year with all of the lawlessness and violence. )

Many of the aforementioned women can relate to a woman with a career, and children, and still has an opportunity to reach the pinnacle of their legal career.

Religion or race will not play as big a role as the media and small minds think it does.

The fact that she is an obviously brilliant jurist, who happens to be a woman, will count.

So, my point is, voting ladies, especially Moms, let’s remind our Senators and those on the other side that we vote. And we won’t forget this momentous decision.

And, recently, Trump commented, “I would love to see more women on the SCOTUS…sorry guys”. It was at one of this past week’s rally’s. Is he signalling something?

And finally, her speech was very precise and measured, not giving the media and Congressional turds much to complain about or work with. Guess, once again, they’ll have to go with the made up stuff from anonymous sources.

Did I see Laura Ingraham in the audience a few rows back from the family?

As typical, Twitter has not launched attacks as leadership is still awaiting an attack strategy. Nothing is organic.

Thanks for the stats! I would think it is the having seven kids (and keeping the lovely Downes boy) PLUS being a Catholic is what drives the Left into simply foaming diabolically at the mouth. (And being a “color-blind” family is just rubbing alcohol up their butts!) Satan H.A.T.E.S. families, and really hates good, loving families, and he is just reduced to foaming and kicking imbecility (imagine the greatest being ever created reducing himself to a foaming, kicking mass of spite) by a religious good and loving family. (Brett Kavanagh is a good buy, though kind of a squish — I mean, not an Alpha male — and as a judge, he’s no Thomas or Alito, but the ferocity of the attacks on him were inspired because he, too, was active in church and served soup kitchens and so on.)

Yes, Justice Lagoa is a Catholic too, but ACB’s story is striking in faith and religion terms, so, we’ll see if the Left completely imitates is “Father Below” in hatred of a Christian woman, mother, and faithful spouse.

Otherwise, I’d just note as a Trad Catholic how sad it is to see the Vatican II Church fail so miserably. The retention stats are striking! I remember reading that studies show in 1963, 3/4s of Catholics were in church on a Sunday morning (no Sat evening Masses then!) and only 20 years later, the figure was reversed: only about a quarter of Catholics attended Mass.

There are faithful, practicing Catholics and there are Catholics in name only who may or may not be cultural Catholics. Catholics, contrary to outside opinion, are not a monolithic group. An orthodox Catholic priest, Fr. Altman, publicly proclaimed that one cannot be a Catholic and vote Democrat. His bishop is not supporting him, but there are other bishops, notably Bishop Strickland, who are supporting him.

  8. I’m perfectly pleased by President Trump’s choice of Amy Coney Barrett. She claims to be a Constitutional Originalist who opposes political activism from the bench. She’s Pro-Life and Pro-Second Amendment. IMO, the “hand-wringing” over her nomination is the product of either misunderstanding of her positions, or intentional effort to divide those who support President Trump.

But, as with all other things, only time will tell whether she is what she says she is, and whether this was a good choice.

They will also try to make her breakdown on the air to show she doesn’t have the demeanor or toughness for the job, again with the hope it affects Republican votes, Or make it sufficiently miserable she throws in the towel, although this is the least likely.

Good point. It’s a 50/50. They savaged Kavanaugh and he said, “F you!” relatively well. It was atrocious how he was lied about. But now he’s on the bench.

I’m not happy they won’t start until Oct 12th.

I was favorably impressed by the nomination. The universal support from among her fellow clerks and her law faculty speaks very well of her personality and temperance, since both groups will necessarily include some strongly Left-leaning legal minds. I expect she will be a consensus builder. I’m glad she went to Notre Dame, since it is not Harvard, Yale or Stanford. There should be more balance on the Court, some state law school graduates.

I think she will be difficult to block from the Dems, and concerted efforts will be purely partisan, and likely as ugly as Kavanaugh’s hearing, which didn’t do the Dems any good at all. I expect she will be seated on the Court in the fairly likely event that there will be litigation challenging the election.

It was another example of the President being Presidential, delivering on his promises. The transparency of his nomination process, maintaining a public list, then choosing from it, compares favorably to Biden’s refusal to say. From what we know of Joe’s style of Delaware corruption, he’ll probably want something in return for any important nomination. Plus he probably lacks the energy to go out and hustle any prospects.
