Bubba Wallace Goes Full Kaepernick – Despite Evidence Doubles Down on False “Noose” Claim…

Before NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace appeared on CNN with Don Lémon to discuss his now disproven racial “noose” targeting, he had a decision to make.  Wallace could accept the FBI/NASCAR finding and admit an honest mistake was made by an overly sensitive Richard Petty racing team; or he could make racism his new identity in NASCAR as Colin Kaepernick did with football in the NFL.  Bubba Wallace chose the latter.

As a result of Wallace’s new identity, and his announced career goals, NASCAR will now fragment in the same way as the National Football League. Social justice will now define Mr. Wallace’s professional effort; driving with NASCAR becomes a method to achieve his new career aspirations.  That inflection point, his identity choice, is clear in his interview.

However, before getting to the interview it is worth looking at how this entire fiasco was created, starting with the carefully obtuse explanation from Richard Petty Motorsports:

Obviously Richard Petty’s team are socially woke and enlightened to their obligations in a new era of racial sensitivity.  Notice the careful wording: “discovered a rope tied in the fashion of a noose”, key word “fashion.”  The careful wording allows the statement to skirt on the fringes of common sense truth because they don’t ‘technically’ say it’s a noose; quite simply, because it isn’t.   If it were a noose it would be useless as a garage door pull.

That brings up the second obtuse aspect of the sentence: “discovered a rope”, notice they don’t say it was attached to the garage door pull (which it was) because that would make their misinterpretation seem even more ridiculous.  Saying ‘we discovered a garage door pull-down rope that appeared to be fashioned as a noose’, would illicit eye-rolls.  So they carefully avoid noting their stupidity by ignoring common sense.

noosecar 2

“According to established protocols our team notified the crew chief”, so they have protocols for nooses at Richard Petty Motorsports?  Of course they don’t.  They have protocols for making stupid stuff into bigger stupid stuff by notifying ever increasing pearl-clutchers.  If you’ve ever worked in a corporate setting, you know the nonsense that can flow from a particular squeeky noisemaker who enjoys attention.  Same/Same.

From that moment forward NASCAR, the corporate side; the public relations, brand image and risk management side; took over.  Thus the culturally sensitive and politically correct NASCAR President, Steve Phelps, soon found himself in the motor-home of Bubba Wallace crying and explaining that “a hate crime has been committed against him.” Yes, that’s what happened (it’s in the interview).

Throughout this event, from the moment the garage door pull was defined as a “noose”, common sense was displaced by an overwhelming urge to be appropriately sensitive to the slightest possibility that something terribly untoward may be afoot.  The 800lb gorilla in the corner of the decision-making space is NASCAR’s intention to find a new culturally diverse audience.  A corporations cultural direction once again drowned common sense.

Within the interview Bubba Wallace waxes poetically about how much he appreciated Steve Phelps sensitivities; and how President Phelps is just the right kind of woke-minded leader to carry NASCAR into the social justice era against the hordes of deplorable redneck rubes they are now trying to outrun.  CNN host Don Lemon is giddy with praise for such an enlightened relationship and praises young Wallace for his millionaire fortitude to be able to withstand emotional pain; and yet overcome the adversity of being a victim.

Not to skim the point, the choice of CNN’s Don Lemon as a brother in the movement, facilitating Wallace’s inflection point, professional identity and first public comments since the FBI debunked the “hate crime” in question, should not be overlooked.  Again, when you have to pretend not to know things, it is wise to lean upon a fellow traveler.

Within the interview Bubba Wallace accepts the FBI finding that he was not a target. However, in keeping with his new identity, Wallace doubles down on the false narrative that a “noose” was indeed created by some racist entities in NASCAR.

Wallace’s overt inference -and it isn’t at all subtle- is that racist teams are running amok in the sport, tying random nooses on garage doors, and Bubba welcomes the challenge of overcoming their racial adversity.  In short, Bubba Wallace calls some of those who just joined him in a unity parade, racist NASCAR participants who tie nooses.

That victim outlook permits Wallace to further proclaim his mission to bring NASCAR to “an entirely new audience of followers” who have -in his words- demanded that he “place himself on a pedestal” to do battle with the racist NASCAR elements that surround him.

So there you have it… you can watch it in the interview. Bubba Wallace is to NASCAR as Colin Kaepernick was/is to the NFL.  If he loses a sponsor, it’s racism.  If he’s bumped in a race, it’s racism.  If he doesn’t win, and/or as a result of poor performance questions arise about losing his ride, yep, racism.

By doubling, tripling and quadrupling down; with anger and disdain toward any who would counter him with common sense; on the completely false assertion that a garage door with a “loop knot” or “scaffold knot” is a noose, Wallace attempts to shield himself by weaponizing his race.  Any challenge to his defined noose narrative is racism.

And you know what,… it will work.

How can I be so certain that his approach will work?  The answer is really quite simple.

Think about how weak an organization needs to be in order to permit a ridiculous garage door rope with a loop on the end; becoming such a ridiculously overblown issue that the corporation would organize an full-throated PR campaign around a hoax; while the leader of the organization sobs in the trailer of a falsely identified hate-crime victim.

In essence, weak organizations are a breeding ground for communal stupid; and every one of them ends the same way.  Both the NFL and NASCAR are following the same woke business plan.  Watch his interview, you’ll see it:

I’m also glad bubba didn’t jump out of the rafters, entangling his neck in a rope, just to pull the door closed.

Loop knots are a general category of knots.
There are many forms of loop knots, to wit,
the fisherman’s knot, the surgeons’ loop, and the hangmans’ knot, of “noose “fame, and quite a few others.. They look quite similar but all are tied differently. Someone familiar with knots would be easily able to tell, based on the tying, what kind of loop knot was used.
So…….? Is there an accurate picture of the loop knot of note. The F(ubar)BI being crack sleuths must have done this,No?
Not that it matters, except “Fishermans’ knot” doesn’t quite fit the storyline.

      • Squidly says:

A “hangman’s” noose is a “slip” knot and would not work well for a garage door pull. A “loop” knot, which is pictured in bright orange in this story above, does work well. A “loop” knot does not “slip” when pulled on, it maintains its loop, where as a “slip” knot does tighten when pulled (hence the name). It would not make sense to tie a hangman’s noose for a garage door pull, and I am certain that a hangman’s noose is not what Jussie Wallace (aka; Bubba Smollett) saw. He saw a typical “loop” knot (of which there are many styles), and likely the very same style as pictured above in orange.

One could use a fishermans knot to form a loop but generally they are used to tie two ropes or cords together. Much more secure than a square knot. Also works well to connect two ropes or chords having different diameters together. Has the additional benefit of being relatively easy to unknot.

The Daily Mail has a report about this: “Bubba Wallace praises FBI as they find no evidence of hate crime after ‘noose’ in his NASCAR garage stall is found to be a door pull“. The report now has over 3000 reader comments. Some of the most highly-rated comments are copied below.

I’m done with all sports for a while. This is just getting dumber and dumber by the day.

In other words, the garage door pull rope wasn’t imagined as a noose until a r@t narrative needed to be pushed out to the public.

The real shocker is the FBI was able to figure it out.

    Yet another Noose hoax

NASCAR’S reaction was the most ridiculous part of this highly ridiculous situation! The virtue signaling was vomit inducing! Over all sports!

stupid – that is not a hangman’s noose

Media wanted so badly for this to be a noose. It’s a simple garage pull down rope. Any idiot could have figured this out – didn’t need fbi.

It is also significant that the person who contacted NASCAR has not been identified… like

Mr cxxuuu found a noose and contacted officials… you can also bet that before MSM was notified lawyers thought all this over with the risk involved…

Instead they now say it was there for a long time previously… no one brought this forward previously… the horror of it all.

NASCAR officials probably new it was a thin twine cord used on the garage doors. It’s their garage…

It was a planned HOAX meant to distract..

Plenty to learn from this soap. Not withstanding the lack of honesty and responsibility shown by Darrell Wallace Jr and the RP team, administration of Nascar and many of the face news MSN reporting on such matters, I am amazed at the FBI. Apparently 15 fbi officers were immediately assigned to investigate this performance. They must be so hungry for anything that possibly victimizes anyone espousing BLM as a mantra for the DNC, that they would take this to such lengths. Clearly this is further evidence that the evil in our culture will go to any lengths to voice their political lies that they are victims of society. Wallace is finished just as this is the final nail in the coffin of Nascar, thanks to Phelps. I hope they’re proud of themselves. Wallace’s father should have spent the $1MIL in getting Darrell to drive the car and instead purchased a summer place on a lake somewhere.

Today’s NASCAR narrative was this: glad to find out there was no targeted racism/the rope was in a “noose“ and the only one in the garage area like that, but it was done last year/wasn’t the support for Bubba wonderful!

I’m convinced it was NASCAR management, namely President Steve Phelps, who decided to use this as an opportunity to virtue signal.

Wrong. Bubba Wallace is a decent race car driver who is in the middle of a contract to drive for the greatest NASCAR legend, Richard Petty. But the Petty garage is badly underfunded and they keep sending him out in cars that, in short, do not have enough speed to be top tier competitive. Bubba and NASCAR have seen an opportunity to get some of that big money the Global monopolists are throwing at BLM and spend it on a worthwhile endever, faster cars to drive. Bubba has been performing at a higher level lately. I do not know whether there is money to follow in this episode, but I suggest that it is possible. Bubba is a very good plate racer and if you can keep up with the pack and draft along with them, you can win in a car that is not great. So, I my be reading more into this than is there. But, with the way Petty put on his act Monday and Bubba’s inability to wash his hands of this hoax, I think 15 Fibbies could be needed if they are actually trying to find out where BLM is spending this virtue signalling money.

Bubba Wallace is a race car driver, not a social justice warrior. He has no training for political crap and it is obvious he is in over his head trying to understand how these people operate. If Bubba is allowed to just go back to racing cars for a living, I bet he will have a chance to put this behind him. NOOSECAR should understand that they have just alienated all of their fans who are also PDJT voters and they won’t get them back. What a bunch of fools, they have been. NASCAR, loop knots are not noose knots!

I already have a lot of issues with NASCAR, so they really can’t lose me again.

jfhdsiu, I totally disagree with your take on Bubba Wallace. But I have nothing but contempt for BLM because they hate people for one thing nobody can control, the color of their skin. I just try to remember that a huge majority of black people are good Americans who respect the law and BLM do not speak for the majority of Americans of any color.

Do you see a the problem in this sentence?

“Top level” (his own words) does not equate to decent. Decent drivers are found on local tracks trying to develop their skills and make it to a National series. I’ve looked at his career, he’s a product of the new age environment driving schools. His average finish throughout his career is 21st. That’s not exactly decent by most standards.

I see Willy Ribbs has popped his head up and joined the fray, another mediocrity hailed as the second coming of auto racing. Trivia question; Who owned the car Ribbs drove in the Indy 500?

I think any driver who can compete at the Cup level is at least decent. What you are saying is the equivalent of saying a major league ball player is a lousy baseball player. There isn’t a single driver in NASCAR who doesn’t have to seek plenty of help to afford to pursue his/her/whomever professional racing career. Yes, Bubba has gotten help from a few odd sources, but he had never done anything out of the ordinary until he got used in this political fiasco. I have no issue with Bubba, but I have big issues with NASCAR, the so called Media, the Democraps, and especially the communists in China and at BLM. I think you should refocus the direction of your wrath more in the direction of our real enemies. Bubba will be alright once he starts to understand how he was played by the radical race baiters on the Collectivist Left.

      Just want to add:

I live in NASCAR country (CLT metro – where most teams and drivers are) and know LOTS & LOTS of NASCAR ppl. – most if not all came from humble beginnings and have about as much of a racist bone in their bodies as a ameba. Not to say there aren’t some real red tinted necks in the fanbase, but most are not. To me this smelled 100% like a NASCAR corporate thing from the get go. The France family is not looked upon very highly in CLT or within the fanbase for that matter.

I would not be surprised to find out it was some crazy idea cooked up by a marketing person somewhere within the organization to bolster its (NASCAR) position in the current social climate given that they also bad the decision about the “stars and bars”. They have been getting hammered the last few years with ratings and sponsorships leaving in a mass exodus. They’ve needed something to bring back those ppl to the tracks.

I also think, although I do not know Bubba W at all personally, but know several of the other drivers, that there is a very good chance that they left Bubba out of the loop with all the details in this incident. They wanted and needed an authentic response from Bubba for the cameras/media. So they told Bubba only what they needed to tell him to get that reaction. I know the Petty clan – grew up with one of the King’s personal friends and my buddy literally lives down the street from them and the shop. This is not in their DNA either – not even the PR stunt aspect!

This to me is 100% NASCAR corp and it blew up in their face faster than I ever expected. DO NOT expect Bubba to apologize! NASCAR needs him to feel victimized and for the empathy of the nation to translate into new fans out at the tracks. If anything, this does actually show how racist NASCAR really is – just like the DNC and just as Larry Elder has stated publicly.

Can’t make it up. Faced with all this evidence this moron doubles down with MSLSDCNN assist. This jerk’s physiognomy doesn’t even look blak. And this Nascar? No words. Keep in mind the FBI saw fit to send fifteen (15) of their jackboots to Taladega. WTF does the fbi do in their AL. office all day, talk about the weather 10 days out? Useless. What was once relegated as surreal is now expected every day.

SOMEONE with some Sense saw this TRAINWRECK of an “interview” last night and got hold of Bubba today telling him he is WRONG and looked like an arrogant diva ingrate and was damaging his OWN Company. They also took hold of his messaging and PROBABLY wrote this Statement for him to release. He and that idiot SJW who runs NASCAR now even tainted RICHARD PETTY for goodness sake!!
The thing is–and this is the MOST IMPORTANT part–NOT ONE of Don Lemon’s audience has EVER watched a NASCAR race OR EVER WILL let alone bought merchandise, attended a Race, etc. The Fans who DO were INSULTED, DEMEANED and called RACIST BIGOTED SMALL MINDED JERKS REPEATEDLY for 2 DAYS! They will NOT forget.
Wait until NASCAR starts allowing Fans in stands–it will NOT be pretty. IMMEDIATELY you will see the effects in Merchandise Sales and Online viewing. They are about to get competition from other Sports starting up so the ppl who had NO other options WILL have SEVERAL. Watch Viewership plummet.
We Southerners have been called RACISTS since the day we were born—we ARENT BUT people continually, willingly, purposely choose to take our Heritage (as ugly and complicated as it was) and make it into HATRED.
The MOST RACIST places I have ever lived/visited were: Chicago, NYC and Paris (France)…my Husband said Philly and Baltimore (which he HATED to have to go to for work!) are the WORST!
We, in the South, CAME TOGETHER after the War of Northern Aggression–the North never did! They STILL separate into different groups and HATE—we DONT.
So NOW, they have demonized us once again. They have taken a sport WE made Famous and CREATED and turned it into a SJW –HATE THE SOUTHERN TRASH- Event.
OK–we get it….Some will still go and support (grudgingly) but a LOT will turn to LOCAL Tracks (and there are a LOT) and someone with $$$ will get smart and start their OWN NASCAR—
Wait and see–this is a HUGE HUGE MISTAKE on NASCAR’s part. Banning the Confederate Flag was one thing but THIS????……… We’ll see

This was done on her own time..I would like to start my own protest and demand that blacks stop calling each other Ni**er because it offends me! They should spend more time studying real history..Their ancestors were law abiding, church going, tremendously strong African Americans, who fought against being branded .. Don’t disgrace the Race..

“…Over the course of Monday, various online volunteers, led by @TheLastRefuge2, crowdsourced the most plausible explanation: This wasn’t a noose at all, it was merely a loop tied at the end of a cord hanging down from each garage door for ease in pulling the door down. They came up with a photograph of that stall’s garage door pull rope last November, showing what an excitable person who never made it to Tenderfoot in the Boy Scouts might think was a terrifying lynching noose, but is really just a loop to put your hand in when tugging on the door.

The Last Refuge posted side-by-side photos of Wallace’s stall No. 4 last November and this weekend, showing that the lower few feet of cord, which had been formed into a loop in 2019, is now missing. Moreover, somebody had untied the loop in the rope attached to garage door No. 5 next door….”

NASCAR is still going all-in, now with mandated “sensitivity and unconscious bias training” — but is this current photo really accurate? That is a totally different kind of rope (not just the noose but the thicker hemp kind of rope which would not typically be used for such applications in a garage) and seems hard to believe it was there all along…..

I thought it must be fake too ….. but NASCAR is claiming on their own site that this new noose photo is of what was there all along…. I only saw the other photos with a much slimmer pull cord, totally different rope and not the noose. I don’t know if they are going to allow a proper forensic evaluation of all photo and video evidence to see when this noose photo entered the investigation….

This had no means for investigation by the FBI. At taxpayers expense no less. Furthermore in the handling of this by both Nascar and Bubba they racially profiled an entire race of people. And for what reason, a handle with a loop knot for a better grip. The fact that Bubba continues to whine about this shows the real intent. Bubba is a less than mediocre driver seeking accolade. Bubba and Nascar should pay for the services of the FBI and anything other law enforcement and issue a public apology for racial profiling.
