Figures – Report: IG Report Delayed Release – Ongoing “Classification Review”…

Maria Bartiromo had initially reported the IG report on the Carter Page FISA situation was going to be released around the end of this week.  Ms. Bartiromo is now reporting a delay:

It’s the “classifications being made” part that raises concern.  President Trump granted Attorney General Bill Barr with declassification authority on May 23rd, 2019, so that any classification issues could be minimized and maximum transparency afforded.

WHITE HOUSE: (MAY 23rd) “Today, at the request and recommendation of the Attorney General of the United States, President Donald J. Trump directed the intelligence community to quickly and fully cooperate with the Attorney General’s investigation into surveillance activities during the 2016 Presidential election.

The Attorney General has also been delegated full and complete authority to declassify information pertaining to this investigation, in accordance with the long-established standards for handling classified information. Today’s action will help ensure that all Americans learn the truth about the events that occurred, and the actions that were taken, during the last Presidential election and will restore confidence in our public institutions.” (read more)

MEMORANDUM FOR THE SECRETARY OF STATE
THE SECRETARY OF THE TREASURY
THE SECRETARY OF DEFENSE
THE ATTORNEY GENERAL
THE SECRETARY OF ENERGY
THE SECRETARY OF HOMELAND SECURITY
THE DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE
THE DIRECTOR OF THE CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE AGENCY

SUBJECT: Agency Cooperation with Attorney General’s Review of Intelligence Activities Relating to the 2016 Presidential Campaigns

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby direct the following:

♦Section 1. Agency Cooperation.

The Attorney General is currently conducting a review of intelligence activities relating to the campaigns in the 2016 Presidential election and certain related matters. The heads of elements of the intelligence community, as defined in 50 U.S.C. 3003(4), and the heads of each department or agency that includes an element of the intelligence community shall promptly provide such assistance and information as the Attorney General may request in connection with that review.

♦Sec. 2. Declassification and Downgrading.

With respect to any matter classified under Executive Order 13526 of December 29, 2009 (Classified National Security Information), the Attorney General may, by applying the standard set forth in either section 3.1(a) or section 3.1(d) of Executive Order 13526, declassify, downgrade, or direct the declassification or downgrading of information or intelligence that relates to the Attorney General’s review referred to in section 1 of this memorandum. Before exercising this authority, the Attorney General should, to the extent he deems it practicable, consult with the head of the originating intelligence community element or department. This authority is not delegable and applies notwithstanding any other authorization or limitation set forth in Executive Order 13526.

♦Sec. 3. General Provisions.

(a) Nothing in this memorandum shall be construed to impair or otherwise affect:

(i) the authority granted by law to an executive department or agency, or the head thereof; or

(ii) the functions of the Director of the Office of Management and Budget relating to budgetary, administrative, or legislative proposals.

(b) This memorandum shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.

(c) The authority in this memorandum shall terminate upon a vacancy in the office of Attorney General, unless expressly extended by the President.

(d) This memorandum is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.

(e) The Attorney General is authorized and directed to publish this memorandum in the Federal Register.

Huber never claimed to be doing anything. I remember one person on Bit Chute’s comments section claiming Huber was producing 5,000 sealed indictments every month, which I know from experience is completely IMPOSSIBLE for any US Attorney to achieve. Most of these stories are hoaxes, used primarily to manipulate the emotions of the audience. In this case, “Treepers are supposed to be OPTIMISTIC,” is a factor in this kind of claim. Claims are made about such things as the Horowitz FISA report in order to maintain positive emotions in the readers, not an attempt to share information to analyze–OBJECTIVELY–what is going on with these investigations.

I don’t think the purpose of this place–and Sundance can correct me if I’m wrong–is to generate a certain emotional response in the readers. Maintaining “optimism” or “pessimism” in the audience is not the purpose of this kind of blog.

Apprehending evidence, and analyzing that evidence in an attempt to ascertain the TRUTH, is what this place is about.

Recall when the FBI was frantic to want to suppress release of Devin Nunes’ Memo on classification grounds?

But when the Memo was released, there was not even one national security source or method being protected, and it was all about keeping the public uninformed about FBI shenanigans?

I am beyond confident that the same game is being played here, and that the jerkasaurus leading the charge is FBI Director Wray.

AG Barr needs to cut this Gordian Knot swiftly and completely…..and fire Wray if, in fact, the jerk is doing what we all know he is doing.

I have a different thought. Since the report or parts of it were shown to Brennan, Clapper, Comey and McCabe to name a few of the despicable interested parties, what if these people are the ones, through their attorneys, who are trying to redact or worse remove, as much of the incriminating content as they possibly can.

Julia, I think they have to argue and present facts as to whatever they deem inaccurate in the part of the report that specifically names them. **They don’t see the entire report**. Then the IG makes a determination or a counter argument and that is added to the addendum.

I thought it disrespectful of him to include her, a serious journalist, in that list.

It also solidifies the general public’s perception that Fox is as biased as CNN is.

Actually, that’s not what Rush said about Maria Barteroma today. Playing a bit of POTUS’s amazing recent rally speech, where he credited his loyal supporters at Fox, Rush interjected that MB was not happy today, then immediately cut for a break. I too was left bewildered. But when Rush returned he explained MB was somewhat disappointed with the China trade deal in its present state. But that was Rush’s take. Maria has been a strong stalwart supporter. This is a good reminder of how rumors start. Keep the faith, our fearless leader will not let us down, but fearful thoughts are the nemesis.

My understanding is they have an opportunity to comment on the parts of the report that pertain to them before the final draft. I can imagine a lot of finger pointing. . . . 1. If stuff is really going down, then MB has by definition no knowledge either. So why is she suddenly so credible?
    2. Further ‘classification’ could be justified by Barr/Durham secret grand jury stuff.
    3. Suppose MB is correct from her leaking sources. Then we know Barr is battling his own DoJ Deep State. In which case, MB’s ‘leak’ gives Barr extra battle ammo.

Then Durham would have to have a hand in the classification process of the Horowitz report, would he not? IF Durham even has a grand jury in place to receive his findings in this investigation, or review, whichever it is.

HOW WOULD ANY OF THE DEEP STATE PEOPLE KNOW WHAT DURHAM KNOWS ABOUT GRAND JURY PROCEEDINGS OR THE EVIDENCE PRESENTED TO THAT GRAND JURY?

Answer: They better not know anything about it since only Durham and the members of the grand jury should know it. So, just HOW could Rule 6E material even be considered in this matter unless Durham is involved in redacting the Horowitz report?

Another question–If the Horowitz Report is stuffed full of Durham’s Rule 6E material, why is not Durham waiting until AFTER Horowitz is done to even START his investigation? We keep hearing about all of these wonderful things Durham is doing, and apparently he has been over in Europe doing things, and three Democrat senators went to the DNC’s colony, Ukraine, to warn them not to cooperate with Durham, so just why would the FISA report even impact everything Durham is doing, such as Mifsud, Ukraine, etc.?

Why would Durham EVEN BE INVESTIGATING FISA ABUSE WHEN HE KNOWS HOROWITZ IS DOING THAT? What does the Mifsud affair have to do with FISA abuse? How about Ukraine? Did either Horowitz or Durham interview Papadopoulos or Page? We know Horowitz didn’t talk to Page. Page said he didn’t.

Anyone can gin up percentage probabilities such as how likely Ms Bartiromo’s source is accurate in the source’s description of the Horowitz, so here is the likelihood that Durham’s investigation will include Rule 6E material that is the same material that will be in the Horowitz Report—10% chance, and maybe LESS. Anyone care to dispute MY numbers? Anyone want to check MY probability calculations?

This is what Durham is investigating and it is NOT FISA abuse, which is the subject of this thread.

      https://www.foxnews.com/politics/durham-investigation-trump-campaign-surveillance-expanded-scope

Durham is investigating the ORIGIN OF THE COUNTERINTELLIGENCE INVESTIGATION, and not FISA abuse. Why would Durham be duplicating Horowitz? Apparently he isn’t. He’s been in Italy, and now is probing Ukraine. What the hell does that have to do with FISA warrant applications? Answer–NOT A DAMN THING. There is next to no likelihood that Durham is intersecting any of Horowitz’s investigation, so Durham’s Rule 6E material, ASSUMING Durham is presently working under the auspices of a grand jury to create Rule 6E material, will have NOTHING to do with the content of Horowitz’s report. Horowitz will eventually present his report, along with any CRIMINAL REFERRALS, and the DOJ will decide what to do with those criminal referrals just like the previous two Horowitz reports.

In the meantime, we can’t even be 100% sure there is a grand jury through which Durham is operating. Some say yes, some say no, but none of us can be 100% certain that a grand jury is even at work with Durham at this time.

An error we all make is that everyone else cares as much about this as we do. In reality, there are millions who know next to NOTHING about this, which is another reason I scratch my head when someone suggests nothing is being revealed because “only juries” should see these things. I could throw a pebble into the crowds at the local Apple Fest, and come up with a potential juror totally ignorant of most of these matters.

It won’t matter if this comes out within a day or two of any election. It takes a long time to get many voters to pay attention. The voters believed their private health insurance plans would stay as they were prior to Obamacare, but Obama was also telling everyone coverage on existing policy would be expanded which would change all of those policies.

You have to start early and constantly repeat your message right up to election day. It takes weeks/months to drill things into the minds of people who are so easily distracted. In 2016, the skyrocketing premiums and deductibles were convincing millions of voters Obamacare screwed them, not to mention the cancelled policies, so the bad effects of Democrat policies also have to intrude on the voters’ every day lives in order to have any effect on their “thinking.”

Attention AG William Barr, two men, now residing in Heaven, have some advice for you to follow unless you want to end up in the “other place”.

    Dear AG William Barr,
Decency, security and liberty alike demand that government officials shall be subjected to the same rules of conduct that are commands to the citizen. In a government of laws, existence of the government will be imperiled if it fails to observe the law scrupulously. Our Government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the Government becomes a lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy.
    – Justice Brandeis, Olimstead v. United States 277 U.S. 438 (1928)

    Dear AG William Barr,
Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.

Someone caught in the last IG release (Comey), where it stated copies of the report were being provided to various people. In particular it listed “Paul Ryan, Speaker of the House.” Given this was a month or 2 ago, it was long after Ryan’s departure.

So it would seem that reports are being sat-on well after completion. The most obvious reason for doing so– running out the clock. 🙄

The report will be a let down, regardless of when it comes out. There will be equivocations, dense legalese, etc. maybe even a criminal referral that goes into the circular file. Sound and fury signifying nothing.
We should expect nothing more. We’ve been through this before, so don’t let this delay get you down. Though I am excited to read SDs breakdown of it.
Barr and Durham are where the action should come from. Not another encyclopedia of wasted tax dollars.

I’m thinking this part is the one causing the ongoing delay in releasing the IG report.

How many of you really believe anyone is going to jail? Three years, three AG’s, ZERO indictments. November just over two weeks away and then we are one year away from elections.

  43. At this point Trump is a fool for not declassifying everything. They will impeach Trump and everything will still be classified. The report will be a nothing burger. The DOJ and FBI will NEVER prosecute there own!

I will defer to the adage oft recited by ristvan:
“The wheels of justice turn slowly, but grind exceedingly fine”
Personally, I’m OK with it taking longer…gives CNN and the other media whores less time to spin it.

    • I like ristvan’s version. Here is the original:

“Though the mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceeding small; Though with patience He stands waiting, with exactness grinds He all.”

Perhaps some of these people are held to account. Perhaps they aren’t.

But my general impression is that President Trump doesn’t leave things to chance or fate. And he seems to be very perturbed about this corruption that is DIRECTLY affecting his ability to govern.

What President Trump’s timetable? To be determined.

Manafort is rotting away in solitary confinement, Flynn is bankrupt awaiting sentencing, Stone is not permitted to speak to anyone or about anything at all….the Deep State operatives on the other hand are allowed to walk freely about….let that sink in.

Where’s Wray? Where’s Barr? Where’s McConnell? No need to answer we know the answer.

I’ll sing another Barr until he changes my tune:

Farewell and adieu to you Lady Justice
Farewell and adieu to America’s Dame
For we’ve received prosecution referrals that will see no action
And so nevermore shall we see justice again
