Yes. On an average basis in mainland USA, not stereotyping at all and purely data driven, whenever there is a population of medical doctors, research scientists & engineers and good local k12 schools, you will find good # of Indian origin Americans and legal immigrants from India. This is usually followed by small businesses from similar origins dealing in restaurants, groceries, etc. so, TX has plenty. Thank you.

      • Those not in the medical, research, engineering, and IT fields may not realize it, but the Indians are here, and they came in numbers.

And a whole lot of their top end talent too (unlike the hispanics). Which, in my experience as a VP of Technology for my company, is one reason why offshoring work to teams over there has been difficult. Most of the good ones are here already.

And, to be quite blunt, politically incorrect AND stereotyping, they BREED.
If we are experiencing a demographic problem of baby boomers and low birthrates (we ARE), and if we are going to continue to allow legal migration (we ARE), then who do we want?

High breeding populations from countries who generally follow the rule of law, seem to have no use for Conmunism, assimilate well and are hard working, industrious people (India) or ignorant, poor welfare recipients who don’t assimilate (central South America).

Actually, base it purely on merit, and let us get the best,of the best from ALL countries and regions, is the ideal.
          But, until then ,….

What I have seen is their families are about the same size as anybody’s else’s. As far as American birthrates, this is just the way it is in the era of birth control. We have allowed it to be taught to discourage children. Remember all the “teen pregnancy” programs. Very few teen pregnancies now. Sure, it’s nice to wait till you’re married but people are shy of marriage now. Who wants to go through divorce court. It is all of our own doing. We need to own it.

Uh, the Indians I’ve known aren’t “breeders.” In fact, I don’t know any who have lots of kids.

Going back decades, I can honestly say that 3 is the largest number of children I’ve seen in an Indian family which assimilated here.

          • jbrickley says:

Well that is precisely why India split into Pakistan and India is because the Muslims wanted their own country in Pakistan. It was not a peaceful transition as you had people on both sides of the border who were forced from their homes and kicked over the border by force. It was unfortunately a bloody affair. I remember watching the ambassador from India shouting at the UN about giving up their nuclear weapons as soon as they bomb the hell out of Pakistan.

The Indian weddings that I’ve attended have been more fun than all of them (although unsurprisingly the Irish Catholic ones tend to be the best to drink at)

That’s not true. The Indians at least in Chicago are very separatist and often behave in a colonizing manner. They and the Pakistanis are very arrogant and feel that their culture is superior to America’s culture even though they are here in America. I have been told this directly to my face by both an Indian male I once worked with and a Pakistani male who was a cashier in a store I was purchasing an item from.

Many Indians here in Chicago take over American businesses like hotel franchises then fire all of the American workers. I have seen this happen to people I know.

Imagine what all of these 50,000 Indians could do for India instead of taking the easy route of already made USA.

So serious question, why are they here? Why are they not in India where they love Modi? These highly educated Indians could substantially increase the quality of life there I would think, and also be in their “own country”. Just wondering.

            • They realize they can’t increase the quality of life given the legacy caste system alongside the fact that Indian government is corrupt beyond belief at all levels. You think its hard to fight the Deep State here in the US? Try doing it there.

Perhaps your experience might have something to do with location?

None of the four Indians I had known previously on my hometown in SW Ohio were like this from the 1970’s through the early 1990’s. Three of them had parents working at the university and the other I met in college. They were as red, white, and blue American as everyone else. Since bring in Chicago however it is a different story.

Oh heck yeah! Here in Collin County DFW area there are many!
45% of our population growth ( population explosion in the last 5 years) came from overseas.

There are many communities where about 80% of residents are from India.

For most part, they look for good schools for their kids. They are very family oriented.

My understanding is that Indians and Chinese don’t like each other. Trump will score bigly with them by holding China accountable.

Collin County is solid red. I was getting worried because we don’t know how our new comers will vote. Their number keeps increasing.

If they vote Republican we should be in good shape. If not, God help us!

Many are not citizens yet, so they don’t vote yet. Some are citizens already. Getting citizenship is slow process, takes years.

But slowly we should start seeing the impact of our change in Demographics in polls.

      I hope they vote Republican!

      https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/09/20/mike-lee-promise-green-card-giveaway-indians-next-week/

Republican Utah Sen. Mike Lee will try again to pass his S.386 bill, which grants green cards to India’s college graduates if they take jobs from American graduates.

Leon Fresco, a Democrat lawyer working with Lee to pass the bill, also declared the bill will pass the Senate:

All objections will be solved, this is an iterative process.
Senator Lee his staff are doing a tremendous job working to address the objections of every single member. #GreenCardEquality will not be stopped now. Equality of opportunity is a priority for all 100 senators.

Fresco helped Sen. Chuck Schumer write the 2013 “Gang of Eight” amnesty bill that nearly passed — and which would have provided investors with a flood of cheap labor for at least 20 years.

His radical, pro-outsourcing push has created a series of grassroots groups of technology professionals who are worried their careers will be outsourced to India. The new groups have been organizing to oppose the investors’ efforts to export millions of college graduates’ jobs. These groups include the American Workers Coalition, Protect US Workers, Progressives for Immigration Reform, and U.S. Tech Workers.

      @AmWorkCo says NO to #S386

Today’s block of S386 was just a speed bump.

Call senators & keep up pressure to #KillBillS386 for good.

Contact the media and let’s get H1Bs, L1s, H4EADs and OPT in the News!!!!

      https://t.co/j63rbNg45K

The Indian outsourcing economy is valued at almost $80 billion a year, and Lee’s bill would grow that economy by allowing investors to import more Indians graduates. The extra Indian graduates would take more jobs from citizens in computing, design, healthcare, management, and recruitment careers — and then be paid by Sen. Lee’s extra green cards.

U.S. graduates say Indian managers in the United States force them out of jobs, force down their salaries, and impose Indian-style workplace norms, such as favoritism for Indians from higher-status castes or particular regions of India.

.@LouDobbs Thank you for your support. I worked it the tech industry for 30 years, it shifted from an American dominated industry to an Indian dominated industry in America. Discrimination of Americans, by Indians if favor of other Indians is SOP, intel turns blind eye.

He said he was scheduled to begin an hour and a half before but it was actually only an hour that he was late when he made that comment. It wasn’t a rant, it was an observation. Sometimes I wonder about this site now that all the old, core group is gone. I see comments that are like the ones i see daily at the Daily Mail, way off the rails.

I’m watching PDJT live in Houston. After being introduced by PM Modi, the President showed his incredible graciousness by escorting PM Modi off the stage before returning to the podium to deliver his remarks. I was immediately struck by it. I love PDJT.

Global Conmunists would say “P.O.C., or People Of Color, means exactly and only what we SAYS it means.”
So, people from India, or Japan are THEY Poc?”
      “NO”
So, oeople who are African American or Hispanic, and Support PDJT,…are,THEY POC?”
      “GOD NO!”
So, exactly who ARE these people of color you talk about, who are experiencing endemic rascism, from PSJT and his deplorable supporters?”

“I TOLD you,…exactly whoever we SAY they are! Sheesh, don’t you LISTEN?”

In a Congressional hearing just the other day two white women lectured Candace Owens an African American woman on what it meant to be “Black in America” and how Candace Owens could not possible know what the hardships black Americans suffered from.

These two so called experts, one a white female college professor and the other just an annoying white know-it-all tried to tell a black woman this.

So your post is exactly right.

The liberals get to tell us who is oppressed and when they are oppressed and when they stop being oppressed and we have no say in anything.

We are just suppose to fork over our votes and our hard earned money.

      Skippy;
Geopolitics. Firstly, India has to do whats best for India, and aligning with Russia, as a check on China isn’t a bad thing.
BRICS; Brazil (check) Russia (prevented from turning away from China, by the odious muh Russia) India (BIG check!) China (isolated, plan thwarted) South Africa (made irrelevant due to internal changes).

BRICS was ostensibly a plan, by China to create an alternative to the U.S. dominated World Bank, which hands out ‘development loans’ to countries.

And, China smartly focused on large countries, that felt they were not getting the influence they deserved under that system; they weren’t getting to sit at the ‘adults table’ in international relations.

PDJT has wisely GIVEN these nations the recognition they DO deserve, and stiff armed some of the Nations who have long sat at the adult table.

Look at the geographic size, population and economy of France, for instance, compared to Brazil.

Anyway, on many levels Russia SHOULD be part of PDJT’s realignment, and the muh Russia hoax was a ‘two-fer’for Globalists, in ( so far) preventing PDJT from openly bringing Putin over to the Nationalist/Populist team.

Russia are not the ‘bad guys’, that generations of programming leads us to think, and that was expoited so effectively by the muh Russia hoax.

What you are seeing in the past twenty years or so are the purposeful racial and gender selection by American institutions of education, etc. They are infiltrated and totally racist and biased in their selections. The system is now rigged..

If you are a white male and want to be a doctor – you will have to know somebody on the inside or pay somebody off inside the system if you want to get in. So with that medical degree, your 4.0 GPA, your high score on the MCAT, all of your hard work and determination – you can be a phlebotomist or something.

And they claim whitey is the racist one..

White male – you’re not going to get in unless you know somebody high up on the inside. Other formal “professional” institutions are the same.. Infiltrated..

    ————————————-

As far as Houston and immigrants from Vietnam, India, etc. When I first left town and went to Houston, it was the first time I ever saw foreigners. They were running their small businesses, etc. And they were nice, they didn’t care if you were white black brown yellow or Martian green.. they were nice to you. Just patronize their business.. buy their product..

At least back then in Houston, I noticed one common thread that ran through everybody regardless of ethnicity – everybody was just chasing their dream.. The American Dream.. Trying to make it in the American economic capitalist system..

And the Houston consumer didn’t care what color you were, or where you came from..

Even if you were a white male..
Wearing a mattress on the side of the freeway..
    Jumping up and down..
And selling them out of a tent..

[What a great guy.. He’s an icon birthed in the Houston 1980’s era.. He’s a classic example of how everybody was in Houston back then..].

It’s why I instantly fell in love with Houston.. You could become whatever you wanted.. But nobody was just going to give it to you.. There was competition.. Let the best man or woman win.. So be creative.. And nice.. Just work hard and go for it..

You could become whatever your wanted.. A small business owner.. A deep sea diver..

    Or even a mattress salesman..

I’m sure we’ll see a translated transcript of PM Modi’s speech at some point, but I love listening to it even though I don’t understand Hindi – – but even better – – there’s hardly not a person shown on camera who is not smiling ear to ear. They’re loving it! What a charismatic speaker!

Was just going to write this comment. I have been very impressed with PM Modi from his first WH visit in 2017. Additionally, the 50,000 Indian-American attendees are very impressive — smiling, happy, love PM Modi & President Trump, Amrican and India, but have integrated!

I am most impressed with comments regarding the outstanding attributes of Indian-Americans, because I am in the process of selecting a new PCP because a part-time MD just doesn’t work for me. I picked up the doctors blurbs last month. Just reviewed. One MD is Indian ascent. His name is Dr. Modi! HA!! The on-line patient reviews were all 5 stars. So Treepers comments bear out and I am going to establish with him.

Like many commenters here, I work in IT and have worked closely with Indians for years. On the whole wonderful people with great character traits. Hard working, honest, smart, very family oriented, low divorce rates. Most are Hindu, a few Muslim, but my Anglo-Saxon daughter is about to marry one – an evangelical Christian who came to the States at age 14. I wish more Americans shared his excellent character traits. His grandfather was converted by British missionaries in India years ago, and soon the entire family tree became Christians. Many Christian pastors in his family. By my reckoning, when thinking about the MSM, Hollywood and our schools, I wish more educated Indians would come here – it would give us all a better chance to preserve good old fashioned American values.

For all the attacks and cr*p POTUS takes day in and day out, it’s moments like Modi’s warm, welcoming and honoring introduction that probably keep PT going. I think POTUS was moved, humbled and so appreciative of the bond these two men have formed. Yes – history in the making with these two leaders! Can’t wait to hear the details of the USA/Japan/AUS/India economic announcement.
