I was not a Bongino fan originally… But I’m increasingly impressed at what an excellent spokesman he is for true conservative values and policies — and how deep his knowledge is… I now listen to his podcast daily and appreciate his work as much as other higher profile folks… Good to see a young guy grow and contribute like that.

Dan has had a few hiccups, including with SD.

I am hoping that SD and Dan have a patch, because Dan Bongino adds to the exposure and is explicitly sharp in his delivery.

          Fabulously helpful.

Yes, WSB… Dan is sharp in his delivery and being crisp matters… I wasn’t aware of the hiccups (so thanks for that) but I’ve heard Dan praise “the guys over at the CTH” and compliment “the guys” on the work they do. So it seems like Dan has high respect for Sundance and I would hope that SD and Dan “have a patch” as you say. Their (our) shared interests far outweigh any separate interests — of this I am sure.

              • Bongino realizes that his gift is in communicating with the audience. He knows he’s not a content creator. He is a team player who knows his role. He has Matt Palumbo on staff to write on specific topics to fill in the gaps for the economics direction he wants to go. Many other radio & TV “talking hairdo’s” never give the researchers, writers and analysts credit because they are worried the writers will compete with them. Bongino cares about protecting his own credibility/brand with his audience, so he sources much of his work.

I sure do wish SD would get more credit and $ for his great work, because I would have heard about him earlier and he could invest in a comment system that allows us to edit our posts.

I agree with Meadows…but it’s even more severe than failing to deliver on just this bill. They’ve had over THIRTY YEARS that they’ve been promising to secure the border. They SCREWED Reagan out it, and he regretted signing that amnesty! Congress has failed to deliver the promised border security for the last 30+ years. BIG MONEY is what controls congress and the people aren’t represented.

Also I’m SICK and tired of people patting themselves on the back for proposing legislation…BIG DEAL, get it passed then we’ll talk.

“Reform” is a dog whistle for politicians creating a crisis then taking away even more money and freedom from us with the new “solution”. Reform is how we got here.

Our current immigration laws were written to bring in “diversity” rater than critical skills. They have been modified by judges and politicians over decades to ensure illegal migration of slave labor and drugs from the southern border and a steady stream of ant–American ideology via legal ports of entry.

This is deep and absolute corruption in a federal government we elected and sat by doing nothing about for nearly 100 years. They are filling America with our replacements – people who will not challenge or question the ruling class.

We cannot reform them. They cannot reform themselves. Trump cannot. Only we the people can remove the tyranny. . We must remove them and we need to do it with haste or our children and grandchildren will never again have the chance to live free.

Many have tried for decades to use the constitutional means for removing them, however the election process has also been corrupted with unqualified people, dead and alive voting, census counts manipulated to gerrymandered and increase power in corrupt politician’s districts and obscene amounts of money from power brokers. Our children have been indoctrinated by the corrupt education system. Much of the population has been placated and dulled by endless, empty amusements, and nearly all are shackled to government distributions of $ and rights.
We have pretty much exhausted all means beyond marching on DC and ousting them in person. Unfortunately, this is a very dangerous method likely to lead to many causalities, not the least being the liberty our country was founded to protect.

Every inch of new wall will demoralize dems in 2020 campaign and just think about the cheers in the rallies when Trump will mention about the wall. The visual of a wall is what is needed.
I still think Trump should poke at voter fraud and voter list thing a little more. That is the golden treasure politically. Any new deal dems want to make (say infrastructure or DACA), put voter list purge on the agenda. This will freak out the dems.

Gotta start with the containment …I mean if illegals already in USA gonna he hard to leave now as easily with a border wall in place as they may have done in past.
Stop the bleed with the wall, contain the illegals, determine the voter fraudsters and slowly weed them out by detention, deportation or prison.

  7. Rep. Meadows makes a great point:

Congress had the ball to block President Trump from using the statute to redirect already-appropriated funds, and did not do so.

The SCOTUS ruling can recognize this, in conjunction with POTUS’ U.S. Code authority previously granted by Congress to redirect funds, as grounds to deny filings to stop him.

    • The Boss says:

Another equally devastating point by Meadows.
Obama illegally gave more money to Iran IN CASH with no strings attached than Congress gave with conditions to the US for a wall. Not a peep from today’s critics of the wall and President Trump’s emergency declaration.
      Think about that one folks.
It’s pretty understandable to just about anyone.

(Someone posted a chart yesterday showing eight Obama-declared emergencies which benefited other countries, like Yemen. THAT is a great supplement to what Meadows said re Iran).

Kate’s Law and the No Sanctuary for Criminals Act — raise the penalties for undocumented immigrants who re-enter the United States after being deported and revoke federal grants from cities that do not comply with federal immigration enforcement.

Kate’s killer, authorities say, was Juan Francisco Lopez-Sanchez, a Mexican national with seven felony convictions and who had been deported five times but had returned to the United States.

“Our family realize the complexity of immigration laws. However, we feel strongly that some legislation should be discussed, enacted or changed to take these undocumented felons off our streets for good,” Mr. Steinle said. “We’d be proud to see Kate’s name associated to some of this new legislation. We feel if Kate’s Law saves one daughter, one son, a mother, a father, Kate’s death won’t be in vain.”

Narco socialism. You don’t need taxes(other people’s money), if you can feed cheap rice and beans to the peasants with drug and human trafficking profits.

Barrio18, a trans national gang from the central american triangle, reduced it’s drug trafficking to the more lucrative and less enforced crimes of human trafficking and child exploitation. They’re known as the “children’s army”, because they recruit from elementary schools in the US and Central America.

Children make the best drug/human traffickers, thieves, and assassins for organized crime syndicates, because nobody suspects them. If they can get away with it, get paid welfare by US taxpayers, and bring more adult criminals…it becomes a profitable protection racket with an added bonus of votes for Democrat Socialists who promise to continue promoting open borders, illegal immigration, and criminal amnesty.

I went back through a couple of threads and grabbed various comments. Ridiculous knee-jerk reactions. I’ve been here for a while, I recognize a lot of names. Only a few of these came from names I did not recognize. And this is only a small portion of what I have seen just in the past week! I edited and stopped collecting only for brevity…

Ann is right. the POTUS caved. he has no one to blame but himself. this National emergency is BS to save face. The wall will never be built…

Don’t you realize for many here they see President Trumps signing of the bill as a broken promise that he personally gave to them?

how after his campaign could he have had the slightest illusions about their intent to destroy him? Instead he schmoozed and flattered these traitors to no end, and as a result they only saw him as weak.

After Trump seeing all that the Uniparty has done to him for the past two years, is he really still that naive to think that conceding and re-opening the government for 3 weeks of Immigration discussions was going to result in anything close to what he wanted? Should’ve known it was another trap to be laid. He just got “rolled”

      Democrats ALWAYS win.

Here we go, tied up in court, bye, bye wall. I cannot believe this after the numbers PDJT got in SUPPORT OF THE WALL!!

so he signed this shitshow. I better not see ONE tweet about “illegal immigration” when he signs a bill that opens the borders up

Trump is getting rolled, BIGLY, again.

Wow so disappointed.First time I’ve felt really let down as a Trump supporter.

POTUS is being “handled” by McConnell.

I’ve been with him for 3 years. If he signs this, I’m out.

      WE are “F”‘ed

Why do Republicans always get played by Democrats?

This is a cave by the President.

Trump is a complete liar. He is only signing a national emergency order to get you suckers off his back. It will result in nothing and he knows it. The wall will never be built by this cretin. Trump is a weak-minded fool. CAVE!!!

I am retired and did the math. I would be just as well off under Clinton as I am today.

Blah blah blah. I could have grabbed a hundred more just from a couple of threads! Fortunately there were plenty of sane comments too. I love this one:

      I think POTUS should …
      …oh, wait…
I don’t have daily intelligence reports, million $$ studies, a huge staff, geniuses like Wilbur Ross, etc., etc. informing my thoughts and decisions like POTUS does.
Therefore, safe to think I’d be an utter moron to allow myself to believe I know better than PDJT what to do on any given topic. And you know what they say opinions….they are like, well, you know.
But just look at all these opinions!

I have not seen, or perhaps I have missed, commentary on President Trump using part of a national emergency declaration by President Obama to build the wall. If this is correct liberals will melt down. After all, how could they POSSIBLY go against anything Obama did?

    Here’s the money shot…………literally, actually:

    “Via Law and Crime:

As it turns out, back in 2011 then-President Barack Obama issued an executive order “blocking property of transnational criminal organizations organizations.” Obama cited his authority as granted through the Constitution to invoke the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, 50 U.S.C. 1701, and the National Emergencies Act, 50 U.S.C. 1601. The latter is the same legislation that Trump is citing to get funding for the wall to achieve his immigration reform goals. That executive order targeted a number of criminal organizations, including the Mexican Los Zetas cartel, an ally of the MS-13 gang President Trump has regularly called out as a danger to Americans.

“Drugs, gangs and people — an invasion,” Trump said on Friday. “We have an invasion coming into this country.”

Trump all but thanked his predecessor on Friday.

“We may be using one of the national emergencies that [Obama] signed having to do with criminal cartels… it’s a very good national emergency… we’re going to be using parts of it,” he said.”

President Trump using Obama national emergency orders to help build the wall…………can’t wait for the liberal meltdown when that gets mentioned enough.

Lib courts are in a tough position though it never stopped them before. Congress gave POTUS the authority to determine and declare emergency. Courts can’t countermand the president because that then makes them the determining authority on the emergency. POTUS can simply say, I determined it to be so. They can’t make him change his mind. What the courts can do is determine the authority and law granted to POTUS by congress is unconstitutional. Or that he is excercise grandson the authority in a bad way. But to do the latter then inserts the court into a decision which is rightly reserved between congress and the executive.

  26. Linnéa says:

This is the process within the Constitutional checks-and-balances framework for a dispute over this sort of issue:

    President declares National Emergency.
House and Senate reject with simple majority.
    President vetoes.
House and Senate override with 3/4 majority.^^

Thus, the normal process provides a remedy without any need for every District Court to agree with the President.

The problem with allowing District Courts to override Presidential EOs is that it would mean every District Court in the country would need to agree a National Emergemcy is, in their personal opinions, an actual emergency. Given court-shopping, if even one District Court anywhere in the entire country disagreed, then every National Emergency could be blocked with a nation-wide injunction by the personal opinions of judges on a single District Court if they personally don’t feel it’s not an actual emergency or not enough of an emergency.

^^ Given the desperate need for low-paid serfs gardening and house cleaning at the walled palatial estates of the wealthy and donor class (including the politicians themselves who are almost all covertly for open borders) it realistically would be possible to get a 3/4 override. The Republicans would frame their votes to override as a rejection of the “unconstitutional nature of executive orders” even though SCOTUS has ruled EOs are completely constitutional as the Legislative branch granted the President that authority and can remove the authority of the President to issue EOs at any time (with a simple majority of both houses or a 3/4 vote if the President overrides).
