The thing is, the Left has tries to scare everyone to death about “government shutdown;” i.e., SS checks, Medicare checks not going out, etc., but the truth is, as Mark Levin says, it is closed every weekend and there is no disaster! Our President completely understands this fact and also understands that the vast majority of Americans agree with him when it comes to all forms of Immigration. The Democrats are completely screwed! If this election in November is about the Economy and more importantly Immigration, it will be a complete bloodbath for them.
Americans will be waiting overnight in lines to vote. We will have larger margins in the House 30 more Republicans than Democrats (currently 23 more Republicans than Democrats) and a possible Supermajority in the Senate (60+ Republicans).
The tweet below shows you how bad the data is for Democrats. It is only going to get worse when they decide to put illegals before Americans and vote NO to Border Security in the upcoming Budget.
Our President ALREADY has funding for the military in 2019! To the tune of $716 Billion Dollars. They can’t hold a gun to his head this time around!

I see a four-part issue, actually.
1. Comprehensive border security, including The Wall, and strong measures that block every means of illegal entry. This is essential before fixing the next three parts of the problem, so the whole mess doesn’t continue to worsen faster than it can be remediated;
2. Speedy deportation of those illegally in-country, to their countries of origin. But this is a doomed, wasted effort without Part 1. They’ll just keep coming back;
3. Eliminatie the economic incentives. Primarily, levy heavy fines and mandatory prison sentences for American employers of illegal aliens not cleared through eVerify.
4. Abolish “birthright citizenship”. America must regard children born here as inheriting their parent’s citizenship.
An unwavering policy that rigorously applies these measures, ALL of them, is the only way to reduce the catastrophic migratory pressure driving illegal aliens to our doorsteps.

Barring a major setback in December, the total annual figure for 2017 is on pace to hit another record high.
Remittances are one of Mexico’s top sources of foreign income, outpacing oil exports, which totaled $18.5 billion between January and October, according to the most recent figures available at the Bank of Mexico. Manufacturing exports are the top source of foreign income for Mexico.”….credit CNN

“Remittances are one of Mexico’s top sources of foreign income….”
That is another “trade deficit” that needs to be fixed. Does anybody have the numbers on remittances from Mexico to America by Americans in Mexico or from India or China?
Has anybody run the numbers on the H1B remittances from U.S. to countries like India / China? I would suggest that President Trump should turn the focus on this issue too as part of “trade deals”. One single tweet on this topic and I can guarantee that at least there will be an automatic drop in H1B application to the tune of at least 50%. But then don’t be surprised if there will be a corelated rise in B1 (illegal from DOL point of view) and L1 visa applications.
I know for a fact that if you are in India, you cannot repatriate all your money outside of India – if I read correctly, as per the latest rule, you cannot take Indian currency out of the country. Another e.g. if a U.S. citizen owns properties in India (and there are thousands if not millions of U.S. citizens that owns properties in India) then when (if) they sell, government of India will not let you repatriate all the money you receive as part of that sale. Conversely, as far as I know, we do not have any such restrictions here. President Trump being a real estate guy, most likely is aware of this disparity. The cherry on top is, not many such U.S. citizens are aware of this rule in India.

It’s just the same old story, over & over again. The American people scream for a wall, scream to stop the invasion, scream to end the transformation of our country into a third world shithole, & absolutely nothing is done about it
The ongoing, decades old invasion of our country is truly the most unbelievable act in the history of this country. To think American politicians would stoop to the bowels of hell & completely & totally change the nation our ancestors built, fought & died for simply for momentary self gain is the most far fetched, utterly wicked & wretched act possible
What is there to say about men & women who’s greed & lust for power would compel them to transform the safest, most secure & prosperous nation, the nation their own families & children live in, into a crime & gang ridden, corrupt cesspool of banana republic stature?
It’s simply the most treasonous, most disgusting thing an American can do
All of their social justice, caring & compassion bullshit is just that, utter bullshit. All of them are working to keep the invasion going for one reason & one reason only, to garner the power necessary to personally profit from it
How the American people have tolerated it & haven’t been up in arms & storming Washington is beyond me
The ramifications of the invasion so far will be felt for the rest of the life span of our country. Just look at what’s going on here now. It’s like living in some alternative dimension reality. Right is wrong & wrong is right. It’s ridiculously absurd
It has to stop & stop now if we’re to have a slight chance to turn it around
The people who’ve done this to our great nation, from the politicians to their globalist handlers, need to pay & pay big time. What they’ve done is an outrage
This issue goes beyond party & ideology. It’s about the survival of the life we built for ourselves, the right to live in a safe, secure & prosperous land, free from the idiocy & savagery that abounds elsewhere
WHATEVER YOU HAVE TO DO, DO IT. BUILD THE F**KING WALL

‘…momentary self gain..’ The people you are talking about are progressives. They hate the West, Eastern Europe, Russia and Israel. They want to fundamentally change the West so that it’s less white, less Christian and less classical liberal. This has nothing to do with self-interest. The West has been taken over by leftist ideologues. Until Trump came along, the GOP was almost completely controlled by progressives/neo-Marxists.

Not talking about progressives James, although I fully understand them
No, I’m talking about past & present “normal” American politicians, who side with the left & the globalist money men because that’s how they think they’ll stay in power
There’s very few actual leftist / Marxist ideologues / believers in government. It would actually be better if they were because at least those true believers aren’t shy about speaking up about their beliefs
No, again, most of the scumbags allowing the invasion are “red, white & blue” Americans who’ve sold their souls for profit & power

President Trump is going to make this a referendum on whether we have a country or not. I’m good with that. I think he will win, and I think we will win. Congress is going to look a lot different in January anyway. No Ryan. No Flake. No Corker. No Hatch. No McCain. The good thing about Trump is, if he shuts it down, the only way out is for the other team to fold. Let’s get this over with.

He has given EVERYONE 60 Days NOTICE. OFFICIALLY.
This of course after a year and a half of waiting for what we all voted for, and being very clear about it from the get go.
The next OFFICIAL NOTICE needs to be the notice to all non-essential personnel who will be affected/laid off by the shutdown. IT MUST BE COMMUNICATED NO LATER THAN 31 Aug 2018. I would imagine that 30 days is still required by law. THIS will keep them from filing suit, etc., and gives them time to make plans. I believe it also keeps us from paying them while they are off, either during or after.
ACTUALLY, this could be part of The Plan and a YUGE BONUS. Maybe some of them won’t come back. 🙂 🙂 🙂 😉 😉

I was thinking the same — let the non-essential personnel be off work for however long it takes and then when they’re not missed in the least, maybe some permanent trimming of personnel will be in order. #ShutItDown!

That’s the way I always imagined it should be. If they are non-essential, well then that position need not exist.

Perhaps, and this would be extremely wishful thinking; only those in direct support of agencies and departments specifically authorized by Article 1; Section 8 of the Constitution would be considered “essential workers”.
Now that would get some attention.

Interesting… It’s their job anyway. The shutdown is on their shoulders all the way anyway. They had one simple task to do, the mandate to do it, and they blew it. They are the only ones continually kicking the can.
I like it.
If you can’t get your own job done, why do you need help from others to not get your job done?

Border wall cost estimates range from $18 billion to over $70 billion. Obama gave Iran $1.7 billion in cash and up to $150 billion in concessions with the nuke deal. Why is it suddenly so tough to finance the wall?

He just brought the deficit down by $51 BILLION, and he’s just barely getting started. The tariff’s alone will probably pay for it. He’s brought in all kinds of deals from other countries, and saved us ton$$$$ on aircraft and more.

Our job will be to stand in the fire when the government shuts down – to take the pain and proclaim that it’s worth it – whether that means forgoing Social Security payments, not being able to get a government-insured mortgage, being furloughed from work on a government or defense project, not being able to go to a national park, etc. The establishment counts on the American People not being willing to sacrifice – even temporarily – anything that’s funded by the federal government.

Didn’t the last budget well fund the military for two years thru Sept 2019?
That means they can’t threaten military over govt shutdown doesn’t it? That makes it a perfect time to force congress to pass wall funding, etc over a shutdown
because they can’t hold military hostage this time.

The Senate Dems absolutely will not provide meaningful funding for the wall. To them it is an ideological firewall.

If it is a National Security issue, pay for it out of the military budget and have the Army Corps of Engineers build it. It will be done in no time and more than likely under budget. To hell with congress. Enough is enough.

I was just getting ready to write something very similar.
We have all seen the multitude of “sins” covered for under the guise of National Security.
How about for once we do something proactive and just (not to mention Constitutionally required) using National Security as the Primary Justification?

PS
Since the Department of Defense does in fact have a mandate to Provide Defense of the Homeland; designating the Cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations; the declaration of a National Emergency and the assignment of Army and/or Marine units to secure the border between Ports of Entry would be a great start to the Wall.
But instead of the Corp of Engineers, assign the task of building the physical wall to the US Navy Construction Battalion (SeaBees). They are quite proficient in shooting and laying bricks at the same time should need arise.

Since the President won’t get sufficient funding or voting support for the wall in the Congress, I think your solution, or something close to it, may happen.
Given the President’s very strong immigration reform-related tweets the past few days, I am increasingly inclined to believe he will declare that the wall is an appropriate response to a national security emergency.
The national security emergency is his call, and it appears to be the best option, right now, to build the wall. No government shutdown + wall built + deep state/Dems/resistance wailing = win – win – win.
Calling out the National Guard to protect the construction workers will be a given.

Remember what Sundance taught us about Congress not actually writing legislation they vote on, and that the actual writing is done by corporations, and their lawyers and lobbyists.
Could part of the problem with comprehensive, top to bottom immigration reform be that we have no third parties to sit down and write the legislation we want? It’s possible some Republicans in Congress have blank page syndrome and simply don’t know where to start.

It’s no conspiracy theory – the Free Trade absolutists (e.g. the Bush wing of the GOP) have always believed in the unrestricted movement of goods, capital, and LABOR. Under NAFTA there was an EU-style allowance for executives, management, and certain classes of highly skilled workers to move freely within among NAFTA countries (I myself worked in Mexico), but it was clear that “people seeking general employment were not permitted to migrate seeking work”.
That was a political calculation, but with a wink and a nod Clinton and Bush 2 and Obama enabled exactly that: For that reason.

I do like that Sessions “flooded the zone” with immigration judges to clear the asylum backlog and started hearing the cases on a “Last In/First Out” basis.
Give these frauds a fair hearing followed by a speedy denial and deportation. Once word gets back to El Salvador/Guatemala/and Honduras that “asylum seeker” isn’t a magic golden ticket anymore the flood will slow to a trickle.

Like a cancer, the liberal progressive policies destroying the fabric of our American culture from East and West Coast inward, must be stopped. Dense population centers run by historically liberal local governments have fueled a narrative that only the government has the answer for the poor voter…and have now included illegals in the voter equation. The MSM will never highlight the true foreign intervention in our election system, illegal voting by undocumented immigrants.
The solution lies with the Federal government punishing these states with a removal of grant money. The sting must be felt by the centrist Dem (should they still exist) and the independent, so that the electorate removes the cancer destroying this country. A Constitutionally focused SCOTUS will aid in upholding these Federal policies.
