NSA Contractor Reality Winner Pleads Guilty to Stealing and Leaking Classified Documents…

26-year-old Ms. Reality Winner (what a goofy name),  “Reality Leigh Winner“, aka “Reality Winner” aka “Sara Winner“, aka “Sara Winners“,was an NSA contractor in June 2017 when she was arrested and charged under the Espionage Act for stealing classified documents and leaking them to the media.  Today she pleads guilty to one count of unlawful retention and dissemination of national defense information.

GEORGIA – Reality Winner, the former National Security Agency contractor accused of leaking classified information to journalists, pleaded guilty Tuesday as part of a deal with prosecutors.

Winner, 26, pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful retention and dissemination of national defense information.

Her plea agreement, signed June 19, says she’s facing a possible sentence of 63 months in jail and three years of supervised release. No date has been set yet for a sentencing hearing.

Winner was arrested in June 2017 for allegedly feeding a classified report with information on Russia’s involvement in the 2016 presidential election to a news outlet.

“I misused my clearance to print out the report…I did so of my own free will,” Winner said during Tuesday’s court hearing.

Winner was charged, under the Espionage Act, with removing classified material from a government facility and leaking it. According to court documents, Winner snuck the document out of a secure NSA facility by folding it and putting it in her pantyhose.

During Tuesday’s hearing, the judge asked Winner questions about her mental state. Winner disclosed she is taking antidepressant Zoloft and battling an eating disorder as well as depression.  She has been held at the Lincoln County Jail near Augusta, Ga.  (read more)

Here is what happened: case is drop dead solid against her. She couldn’t find any Leftist “pro bono” legal help to fight a 100% losing case. So she threw in the towel to get a lesser sentence.

‘Federal agents found her diary during a search of her home in which she allegedly expressed support for Taliban leaders and Osama bin Laden. The U.S. magistrate judge who presided over Winner’s bail hearing said, “She seems to have a fascination with the Middle East and Islamic terrorism,” and quoted her writing: “It’s a Christlike vision to have a fundamentalist Islamic state.”[26] However, one of the prosecutors at her bail hearing said, “The government is not in any way suggesting the defendant has become a jihadist or that she is a Taliban sympathizer.”[27]’

I hope this isn’t a stereotype of others that are in the US ‘intelligence’ field.

A prosecutor went out of his or her way to make sure to get this in the permanent record?

Is this kind of like Carly Fiorini throwing a long-winded, thou-protesteth-too-much praise on the Islamic world, or our many elected officials saying, “Nothing to see here.”

Fiorina was CEO of HP during a time where adherence to diversity values” made or broke mid to upper level management. I remember some speech she gave while at HP that was fundamentally sympathetic to Islamic jihadists. When I was in IT during that time from 2003-2008 we had to tow the line on Islam, immigration, sexual “harassment”, diversity and global warming or face a walk to HR. It’s still bad but not the death sentence it was. Most HR orgs have found out we are a shining example compared to other countries.

I fear that she is not a singular example of this. Worse yet, there is no way to find out how many there are, or who they are. In 2016, the Intelligence Community IG issued a somewhat redacted report on problems with the NSA databases.

The report generally says, “We the NSA don’t actually have control over how this massive amount of meta-data is being used, searched, queried, and how the information within it is being filtered, minimized or extracted.” The NSA is essentially admitting to being overwhelmed with the scale of the data being collected, and they are similarly overwhelmed by the number of people who have access to this data. Their bottom line: “There’s a ton of activity that we know is taking place that is not supposed to be happening; and we really don’t know the full scale of the abuse we know to be happening -but can’t get our arms around- because, well, there’s just so damn much of it.”

For the foreseeable future, we will have no idea who will use the NSA data, or what their motives will be. Amazing that all of this was kept under wraps by Congress as they reauthorized section 702 of the FISA act this past January.

Simple, use software to tag whenever a classified document is printed and how many copies are printed and by which printer. Each and every printed copy must be accounted for. The chain of custody and all that.

How can the classified status be preserved if protocol are not implemented and followed and audited?

Manhattan Project could not have succeeded, had the poor military not loaded it to the brim with fruits and nuts – all with top clearances. After reading about Oppenheimer – the man in charge, who exhibited stuff well beyond Ms. Winner before he even got started – next to him, lock-picking, bongo-drumming, stripper-loving Feynman was a model of militant normalcy! 😉

Odd minds are a fact of life out on the edge of thought. The real questions of security risks, IMHO, have more to do with politics, basic ideas of morality, and national loyalty, but the left has sabotaged that discussion (especially politics) completely. I would rather they hired 100 psychotic flag-waving Bubbas than a single smooth-talking Rhodes Scholar.

    Chart here.

On the chart Reality Winner released there are curious deletions that even she could not see. The chart can be found above.

I wonder if the word “Ukrainian” was deleted. The original chart maker didn’t see contradiction between Russian and Ukrainian but the censor did.

It reads” ______________ cyber espionage program…” Several experts said right away after data was released that the malware CrowdStrike “found” was not Russian but some out of date Ukrainian product.

Surely this chart is no longer secret. Shouldn’t it be released in light of the RussiaGate investigation?

In vain does a govt oversight agency say: I see no bias there!
In vain does the main stream media produce virtual reality shows.

These are the nitwits leftist radicals install in our government when they hold power. Total incompetents, treasonous anti-Americans, radical subversives & utterly ridiculous, unhinged screeching hippie lunatics

Most people truly don’t understand the real implications of electing radical leftists into power. The young woman who yelled an obscenity at the President on Capitol Hill last week has been identified as Caitlin Marriott. She is a 21 year old airhead intern for NH Senator Maggie Hassan. She has been given a week off but will remain in position through the end of the summer. Hassan defeated Kelly Ayotte in 2016 by a mere 700 votes whereas a recent statewide Election Audit found nearly 5,000 votes cast by people with out-of-state residences. New Hampshire is one of few states which allow same-day registration & voting.

Q’s disciples apparently feel compelled to promote him and defend him in all manner of off topic posts. Of course, since I don’t follow Q – I have no way of knowing: perhaps Sundance IS promoted and quoted on Q’s site as much as Q is promoted and quoted here. I hope so.

I can only evaluate Q by his followers since Q apparently does not have an independent, voice. Sounds like there are secret things a person has to know and then, having uttered the secret things, they go forth to compel others to not disregard Q.

Much of the nonsense I’ve observed and heard over more than seven decades of life has come under the auspices of those who claim mystery.

“He believes in God” – so do the demons. So did Jimmy Carter. I know people who believe in God who are complete nitwits.

Sounds to me like you’re trying to persuade yourself as much as anything.

Q’s purpose is to motivate people to research, learn, and think for themselves, which is never a bad thing, imo
Many have taken Q to extremes, which is what some seem to have done. Which is never a good thing.
Bottom line – meh. Does not affect me and mine. Who cares?
Now, Reality Winner going to jail? Ya, that matters. A good day for all.

So she’s on an antidepressant. I’m no psychoanalyst, but I would say that the prospect of spending several years in prison might lead one to feel a bit depressed. “Reality” is getting a taste of reality.

As for the eating disorder, I’m about as qualified as the Peanuts comic strip character Lucy to explain the reasons for that (“The Doctor is In”), but my amateur instincts tell me that “Reality” has realized she is going to have virtually no freedom and control over her life for years, and playing around with her food intake is one way she is able to exercise control.

Latest Administration official to be harassed by lunatic fringe leftists like Ms Reality is advisor Stephen Miller at his home yesterday. Also Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his wife were accosted by democrat fanatics as they left an event Monday night in Georgetown. This needs to stop before somebody gets hurt.
