CNN took a production crew to Youngstown Ohio to talk to formerly registered Democrats who switched parties in 2016 in order to support Donald Trump.
A year into President Trump’s administration, CNN asks them if they still support Donald Trump. The answers seemed to confound the questioner, CNN’s Martin Savage. And when the topic of illegal immigration surfaces, Savage had a ‘splodey head, WATCH:
.
Yes, after a year of 24/7/365 MSM onslaught – the media are unable to break the power behind MAGA. The perspective of this representative group is exactly why Democrats are apoplectic and thrashing wildly for anything to stop President Trump. And Democrats are threatening to shut down government to maintain illegal immigration?…
What is fascinating is that so far, CNN has yet to find ONE Trump voter who regrets voting for him. You know they are scouring the country to locate just one that they can parade around- but they may as well be snipe hunting.

For instance, illegal immigration hurts the US and the host country equally? The most productive and able body Mexicans abandon their home country at a time when they are needed most and could stay and help Make Mexico Great Again. Mexico is rich in culture and resources and it would be magnificent to see it return to glory which would be a yuuuge benefit to North America. Stealing entry level jobs, usually from poor inner city and rural Americans, leaves no path towards long term careers or jobs for our most needy. You can’t build a better America when the foundations don’t exist. America can’t continue to lead the world in charity and relief if we have nothing to give.

Read that “swing states” and importantly those ten democrat senators states which Donald Trump won in 2016. People don’t want a crappy government inspired minimum wage job. People want the economy to thrive, to have high paying jobs, to work hard and NOT have their wages go to “tax and spend” democrat handouts…in short: MAGA.

That IS one of the primary lessons that Trump NEEDS us to learn, how to shed our decades old pessimism about having any influence and turn MSM on its head by using their own techniques against them. They lie, they deflect and they brag, NEVER using anything but their own voice and yet always claiming that they are using our voice…only Americans are NOT a divided, victim class and that is who elites claim we are because they have used all their influence to transform us, thinking that by now we are willing.
The only victimhood we have experienced is a ruling CLASS who have long considered us an impediment to whom they must talk, until they have eradicated us with their elitist, elimination methods.

It’s been a thing of beauty to watch the 180 degree turns made by some businesses and corporations.
When Donald Trump was elected President, remember the businesses that rushed to bail on him, trying to appease the Women’s March-er’s, Hollywood wackjob’s, Snowflakes, et al? An online jewelry company refused to accept an order from Ivanka, while Macy’s and Needless Markup stores stopped carrying Ivanka’s shoes and clothing lines.
Companies like Under Armor walked away from the President’s business council because they got their feelings hurt over a tweet or comment. 63 million Deplorables responded in kind to all of them that put their politics ahead of our willingness to purchase from them.
Today, Apple is coming home with jobs, as are auto manufacturers and businesses of every stripe. Still others are handing out bonuses and pay raises in appreciation for the Trump tax relief bill. The stock market is a runaway train–that’s the Trump Train–and thanks to President Trump, not CEO’S, consumer confidence and home values are skyrocketing.
One by one, little by little, bottom lines matter more than trying to satiate a crazed faction of the country that despises capitalism while living the dream it provides.
Trying to sum up the magnanimous accomplishments of the last year during the upcoming SOTU address within time constraints will be a Herculean lift but we’ve got just the man that can do it. The country will be tuned in to a night of great celebration. A rock concert with requisite decorum, pageantry and respect.

Maybe even China itself is working in the background with CNN and MSNBC as well in an effort to erode and sidetrack this juggernaut called MAGA.

I think a lot of Trump’s biggest supporters are currently
from areas that have had the greatest major job losses.
Youngstown? Check.
Akron? Ditto.
Toledo?
West Virginia? Amen.
These areas all had automobile assembly, tire manufacturing,
coal mining yanked out from under them, leaving ghost towns
and low paying jobs at Wal Mart and Home Depot behind.
Dayton, Ohio had 8 GM plants! Six are completely gone,
2 of the sites are where casinos now sit.
If CNN were to go to Columbus, Atlanta, or any of the
metro areas that dodged the drastic decline, the amount
of fervor for Trump would be markedly less. Due to
continuing immigration, due to numbers of high paying
state and federal jobs. Due to most of their economies
not being based on heavy industry for 30+ years.
Addressing the worst first is wisdom. Nothing better then
being able to show a dramatic before and after picture.
Most of the “growth” area’s largest amount of building
has occurred since the 80s. On surface everything looks
new and shiny. The rust belt doesn’t have that advantage.
The persons that are way enthused for Trump in growth
metro areas are tuned in, involved. A lot of older, traditional
Republicans in these same areas haven’t seen the loss.
So they can’t fully appreciate the gain.
I know this firsthand,
because a bunch of my older neighbors voted Trump, but
they don’t especially like him. They don’t get the joke. The
one that our leadership has been playing on us for 60+
years. And, everyone of these same neighbors had high
paying jobs due to their college degrees. Back home
in Ohio, I had essentially no friends who’s parents had past
a high school education. All of them lived well not that long
ago.

What’s not discussed much is that if good paying manufacturing jobs come back, jobs that do not require a college education, less people will go to college. That will mean less people will have student loan debt and possibly drive down costs of tuition. So bringing back manufacturing will indirectly assist in solving the cost of college tuition.

When NAFTA was first on the table, it was argued by the pro-NAFTA crowd that we were transitioning to a service economy and exporting manufacturing was a good thing. Correct. What makes manufacturing special is how elastic the demand is for manufacturing goods. Manufacturers expand production with economic growth, thus requiring for workers for production as well as increasing demands for all the jobs that support production.
Unfortunately services and agriculture are not as elastic as manufacturing. People tend not use much more services or eat more food with economic growth. These economic sectors are more dependent on population growth than economic growth.

It’s also our job to educate them on how the local and state officials will
come up with cost overrun building programs as soon as their paychecks
start to improve.
The thieves are losing out on the federal and state level. If you think that
they won’t try and make up for it at the local and state level, then you’re
delusional. Shuffling of skimmed funds. They’ll find a new scam to obtain
them.
Watch at a local level: school bond levies, parks and recreation levies,
road improvement levies. Sales tax increases, local or state income tax
increases. Outcries for “affordable housing”, any kumbaya social program
for the ( wimmen, chilluns, poor, homeless). Anything that requires a new,
out of the box, fresh building to be built. With bond financing. In areas where
tons of empty spaces with comparable square footage exists.
They have some more jokes to spring on the public at a local and state
level, now that federal funds are being kept in check. The punchline for
all of these jokes will, invariably be bond financing. Looking into how
it’s bastardized the local political process for the last 3 decades should

I think the best thing Trump can do for the midterms is instead of getting to involved in the local State races etc , would be going on a cross Country MAGA rally tour similar to the general election.
His rallies get National exposure, and he can simply drive home that MAGA depends on the voters supporting the Republican on the ticket, whoever it may be.
I think he should avoid getting involved in the primaries and endorsements. The Swamp seems to wait for him to stick his neck out for a candidate, then the UNIPARTY goes to work on a full out character assassination.
Simple message…if you want the MAGA agenda, get out and vote R. If not, stay home and the rest will look after itself.

Depends on what you mean by “Republicans”. If you’re referring to the globalist GOPe, and this faction of the party again takes power after Trump’s time in office is over (continuing their work toward disempowering and erasing their own party’s voters) then it really won’t matter which way these Ohio voters turn. Demographic trends will ensure that the GOP will soon effectively cease to exist, and America will become a one-party nation under the Democrats – similar to Mexico’s PRI during most of the 20th century.

*Does anyone consider a state race in January the 2018 election season kick off?
*Does the article mention that previously, the seat was held for 8 years by a Democrat and 4 years before that by a Republican?

The Dem candidate was a moderate. She was very well known and popular, a very active member of her community. Former EMT and now the county coroner. She has lived in that county her whole life, has 6 kids and 9 grandkids I think.
The incumbent had been voted in for the first time in 2014. He seems like a Tee Cruz type to me, but I don’t know him personally. It crossed my mind that perhaps he didn’t run a very good campaign, quite a few Republicans here are NeverTrump and act as if they want out, like Flake. Not sure if he fits this bill or not.
PDJT won that district by 17 because so many Dems voted for him. The Republicans didn’t show up for their guy, and the Dems voted for their candidate. I think she may have just been a candidate, which is what matters in these local elections.
I’m not saying their aren’t challenges and things to worry about in WI. But this particular election doesn’t worry me.
But it is a reminder that we won in 2016 because we made phone calls, knocked on doors, talked to people online. We all need to mobilize again in 2018 to get out the vote.

Deb, interesting that I posted similar thoughts about PA (at almost the same time) and the local losses they had in the Fall. I do think that the ‘Never Trumpers’ are one of the issues. They don’t have a clue how to have a come back against someone who says something negative about Trump that is just a MSM talking point. They really don’t understand Trump like someone who truly supports him.
In our area you could compare our Rep. Costello to our County Sheriff Welsh. Costello got elected to go to the Republican Convention… and he called off when it was clear it was going to be Trump. He is a lukewarm supporter at best. Bunny Welsh talks about how proud she is to have been able to vote for Trump FOUR times! She knows what he is doing and can talk him up like no one else locally. The problem is that the Never Trumpers are GOPe and they are everywhere in this area in control of the party.
Bunny also isn’t a spring chicken even though she’s got the stamina of someone half her age. She’s up for reelection soon and she might decide it’s time to retire and enjoy her grandchildren. She’s well respected as the Sheriff both in her department, locally and Nationally. I’m hoping she stays, because she does a good job of combining the PR aspects of the job, with politics and the nitty gritty law enforcement needs. Besides she looks good next to Pres. Trump.

I’m in PA, this Fall in some of the ‘collar’ areas around PA positions that were traditionally Republican went Democratic. The Republicans were good people and many were incumbents.
Each area is different, but some things might be the same in WI. The things I saw were: There was a lot of money for the Democrats.
There was the usual things that Democrats do like sign stealing and misinformation about candidates. There was also a LOT of media coverage from the liberal media about the races. In this area there is passionate hatred for Trump, even with the ‘love your neighbor’ signs.
Likely some major money to get out the vote in some areas that don’t usually vote in off year elections, but I don’t have those statistics or knowledge to understand voting patterns.
Across the board in talking to various people involved in campaigns (who mostly don’t know each other) what came across was that the Democrats are impassioned and finding good candidates with lots of name recognition that they are pushing. The Republicans have good candidates and a good message… but in this area there are too many ‘Never Trump’ people who have been taught by both the media and non-support from local Republicans to be ashamed of Trump… because he’s brash and not one of the ‘right’ type of Republican.
One gentleman was shocked when he was calling people he knew on election day who hadn’t voted. He was met with comments about Trump, when Trump wasn’t even on the ballot. Again I don’t have the statistics, but those who know areas down to the neighborhoods should be able to see where reliable voters stayed home. Those need to be talked to and it figured out why and how to combat this. It was also a really nasty day, that didn’t have any window of decent weather, but that usually doesn’t keep Republicans home.
It will be rough in PA when the State Chairman of the GOP(e) is Val DiGiorgio who was a Never Trumper. He doesn’t get Trump and from everything I’ve seen he’s GOPe and likes people like Charlie Dent (Allentown Rep) who is similar (buy quieter) Flake!

I read that in Nov. 2016 the Amish actually came out in droves to vote for President Trump, and that their vote was what largely helped get him over the top in Pennsylvania, because the ones handling the fraud had not counted on the Amish voting and the fraud was insufficient to overcome this factor. Do you see the Amish voting en masse in local elections?

I actually think the Amish almost always vote. People tend to think of the Amish as not knowing what’s going on in the world, but I I’d imagine they are very, very concerned with their way of life being taken away by the government.

Why did CNN air this video? I would think once they realized how these people felt about President Trump the video would be shelved, never to see the light of day.

I think they air stuff like this for strategic reasons. They sprinkle in a nugget of absolute truth every once in a while to give the rest of the bogus news an air of legitimacy. Don’t watch it, not even segments like this.. Give them zero clicks.

People saw how biased and disrespectful Jim Acosta was to the President and didn’t like it one bit. So they’re trying to pretend they are impartial and make up for it.

Good idea.
Let’s be disrespectful and talk down to actual Americans instead.
PS Cheap bastards couldn’t even spring for sodas. I hope CNN at least tipped the wait help for taking up their table while loitering.

I stopped on MSNBC this morning to see the opening of the Joe and Mika Sh*tshow. Joe held up a full-page Op-Ed in the New York Times with the stories of alleged Trump voters who are apparently dissatisfied with Trump. I didn’t watch long enough to get the full story nor have I looked for the op-ed piece. This must be the Democrats’ response to the disastrous CNN report. 🙂

I think maybe sour Joe and Mike mischaracterized the op-ed piece. Looks pretty good to me. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/17/opinion/trump-voters-supporters.html

Ohio has a huge problem with mexican drug cartels and growing operations. I learned about this when eight members of the Rhoden family were killed in 2016. So if Savage would have done his homework, he would have known why the people of Ohio care so much about immigration.

Wow. I followed the Rhoden story for awhile but didn’t know the killers were tied to Cartels.

I don’t know if those murders were ever tied to a cartel, but while researching some info on the family, I read many articles about how fast Ohio was becoming a hub for Mexican drug cartels. There is a huge amount of illegal pot grown there.

There has always been alot of illegal pot grown in southern ohio which is where these murders took place. not a stretch for cartel to be involved. these gruesome murders are there modus operandi. don’t leave anyone who can talk.

We had Mexican drug cartel operating in S OH town where I live. They were rooted out before Obama was elected. The town was told the feds could not come back to help.
I have not seen activity but would not surprise me if there still some just more hidden.

I think PTrump just got America’s engine started again with the tax cuts. It’s not theory anymore- people and businesses see tangible changes for the better. The problem the Dem have is their ideology happy talk doesn’t work and people are being exposed to ideas that actually work. Now they even realize the tweets are very often right and the need to bypass the msm. . The American spirit that a PTrump embodies has come back to life. I think intelligent people will instinctively wake up to the wonderful american concept of being free to peruse happiness. Once they realize this they will so busy perusing it- they won’t have time to look back- and will pushing the obfuscators out of the way.

What I see in this short clip that CNN held is Americans speaking, not democrats or republicans but Americans speaking up. All had good points. Especially the young lady in the middle. Her thought on giving power back to the people and disrespecting our laws was fantastic.

Agree with both points, but what was really shocking was the voice-over, an interest in law-and-order seems to be important to Trump voters. Ya’ think? If it had been important to Americans and our lawmakers for the last few decades our nation would not now be on the precipice.

At the state and local level, NeverTrump Republicans run the party (there are exceptions – but few) and work to keep Trump-like candidates out, and pro-Trump messaging minimized. Globalists are now working with state party organizations – and their $$$ is working. While Trump popularity increases, Republican majorities could actually decrease. Very concerned here in Florida. Rep party of Florida is still the party of Jeb!, and thinks we are deplorable…I predict a Democratic candidate replaces Gov Rick Scott, and Dem Sen Nelson easily re-elected. Rubio is actively undermining Trump support in the party. Dems are successfully recruiting displaced Puerto Rican’s. Florida is the new California…..

The big guy in red shirt is Gino DiFabio so CNN goofed he’s a huge Trump supporter who introduced the President at a rally in Ytown back in July:
“Trump then introduced Geno DiFabio, an Ohio voter who said he had sided with the Republican Party for the first time. DiFabio appeared on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” earlier Tuesday, where he said he “couldn’t be happier” with his vote.
Wearing a shirt with “Trump won” in all caps with a bold, red font, DiFabio thanked the president as he spoke with the crowd for several minutes.”

I grew up in a town near Youngstown; it was the industrialized NE part of Ohio. My hometown went down in the 70’s when the tire companies moved to the southern states because they didn’t have unions. Then they all moved to Mexico….never has recovered.
If you don’t care where you live, you can buy a house there, older 2-story, for $30,000. There is nothing there…nothing to do. It is possible to commute to Cleveland and Akron is nearby, but no work there either. The population has been reduced much like Youngstown. Closed half the schools.
I was back for a high school reunion a couple of years ago. My friends and I walked around our old neighborhood; one of my friends childhood home had been torn down. They tore down a lot of older homes at some point..empty lots now. For some reason they cut down a lot of trees, too. My childhood home looked good. But sad that after my mom died a house that would sell for maybe $200,000 here, sold for $70,000 there…and we were lucky to get that.
I don’t know if it can really recover, ever.

I think this is part of a larger strategy.
The NYT op-ed letters in support of PDJT were read out loud on Morning Schmoe and treated respectfully. It was surreal to hear that crew say anything positive about the President.
Same feeling as watching the CNN piece.
But then came the giveaway:
Mika: Tomorrow the Times will be publishing the letters of Trump voters who are not supporting him anymore.
NYT, Morning Schmoe, and CNN all nice to Trump on the same morning? Coincidence?
Enjoy the pleasant news today because tomorrow will be the start of a new wave of (now legitimized) attacks.
It’s a setup.

For me its not just CNN its all of the news channels, newspapers and major online outlets… I dont want to be told what to think anymore or what things I should care about… i prefer to read and verify things.. the days of anyone or anything telling me whats important are over for me as far as im concerned. I hope regardless of politics many more people will join us in that endeavor… oftentimes the media obsesses over something of no consequence and ignores much more important things. Im done with that! Never going back. BTW this viewpoint isnt just in regards to politics but everything. Giving someone the power to decide whats important is more problematic or just as problematic as if they lie… their lies are irrelevant if we dont give them the power to set the agenda to begin with
