Orlando Jihadist Omar Matten was radicalized by New Back Panther Party Member, Marcus Dwayne Robertson (below left), who is a known advocate of radical Islam in Florida and was formerly famous for being a bodyguard for the Blind Sheik.
Marcus Robertson (above left) is a severely anti-gay Muslim activist, and has an on-line radicalization class known as “Fundamental Islamic Knowledge Seminary.” CTH readers will also know the names of other participants in his studies such as Eric Sheppard Jr and the “F**k The Flag” movement.

(Via Fox News) The gunman who murdered at least 50 people in a Florida nightclub early Sunday morning was a follower of a controversial gang leader-turned-bank robber who was released from prison last year despite warnings from prosecutors that he would recruit people to carry out violent acts, sources told FoxNews.com.
Omar Mateen, whose bloody siege inside a packed Orlando gay nightclub ended when SWAT teams stormed the building and killed him, was a radical Muslim who followed Marcus Dwayne Robertson, a law enforcement source said.
“It is no coincidence that this happened in Orlando,” said a law enforcement source familiar with Robertson’s history of recruiting terrorists and inciting violence. “Mateen was enrolled in [Robertson’s online] Fundamental Islamic Knowledge Seminary.”
Robertson and several associates were rounded up for questioning early Sunday, according to law enforcement sources, a development his attorney refused to confirm or deny.
“No comment,” Corey Cohen said in an email reply when asked if his longtime client was in custody. Police also did not confirm or deny picking up Robertson.
Robertson’s school may not have been the only source of Mateen’s spiritual guidance. The gunman was at the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce with Imam Shafiq Rahman two days before the nightclub attack, according to The Washington Post.
That mosque was frequented by American-born suicide bomber Monar abu Salha, who blew himself up in Syria in 2014, and the two knew each other, according to officials. Mateen’s association with Salha led the FBI to interview him in 2014. Rep. Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee Mike McCaul told Fox News law enforcement determined at the time their contact “was minimal.”
FoxNews.com has reported extensively on Robertson, a former U.S. Marine who served as a bodyguard to the Blind Sheik involved in the 1993 World Trade Center Attack and led a gang of New York bank robbers called “Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves” before resurfacing in Orlando, where he started an Islamic seminary.
The school, recently renamed the Timbuktu Seminary, is operated by Robertson, a 47-year-old firebrand known to his thousands of followers as Abu Taubah.
Robertson, who recently spent four years in prison in Florida on illegal weapons and tax fraud charges before being released by a Florida judge one year ago, has openly and enthusiastically preached against homosexuality. Robertson had denied being involved with terrorist activities, in court and in postings on social media and in statements from his attorney to Fox News.
Federal law enforcement has been familiar with Robertson since 1991.
As a former U.S. Marine who became the leader known as “Ali Baba” of a notorious New York gang “Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves”, Robertson and his crew robbed more than 10 banks, private homes and post offices at gunpoint, shot three police officers, and attacked one cop after he was injured by a homemade pipe bomb.
During the same period, federal authorities claimed Robertson served as a bodyguard to Omar Abdel Rahman, nicknamed the “Blind Sheik,” who led the terrorist group that carried out the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center and donated more than $300,000 in stolen funds to mosques he attended, both claims Robertson denied. Robertson has adamantly denied the claims.
After he was arrested in 1991 along with most of the other members of the gang, prosecutors cut a deal with Robertson, and let him serve four years in prison before going to work undercover for the FBI between 2004 and 2007 to document terrorists’ plans and networks in Africa, Egypt and the United States. Obviously the lives of human beings do not matter to U.S. District Judge Gregory Presnell, who released violent criminal thug terrorist ‘swami’ Marcus Dwayne Robertson from prison in June 2015. Presnell–appointed by Clinton in 2000–let this monster go free because the prosecutors didn’t ‘dot the i’s and cross the t’s’ to his satisfaction. Even though Presnell wrote in his sentencing statement that Robertson “was a very bad man”, he let him go because he didn’t like the way the prosecutors presented the evidence.
Holy Cow–see what this Judge has wrought! How many more Omar Mattens influenced by this Robertson are out there, eager to commit their own acts of jihad?!

Also, noted that when ever transported a 7 car caravan of federal marshals escorted him, and if that’s not enough he was moved to solitary confinement for radicalizing 36 prisoners.

Glenn Beck nailed this one. Back when he was on Fox he said and I’m paraphrasing, that Islamist/socialist/communist would work together, destabilize Europe and the West. I agree with your assessmwnr of Beck. When I began watching Beck (at the end of his tenure with Fox) I was impressed by his “in-depth” knowledge of behind the scenes activities. His “Crime, Inc” blackboard talk really struck a chord with me. Behind all that, I wondered how he (Beck) could accumulate so much information. Now, I wonder if it was because he was part of the program. Beck was a fantastic teacher, and I believe that his initial motivation was to inform Americans (forewarned is forearmed). His recommended readings gave a solid background for understanding the communist motivations. I will always respect him for that. Sadly, the Bureau of Land Management vs. Clive Bundy, and Beck’s weird response to that initial weekend of activities, threw cold water on my admiration for Beck. I agree, at this point, that Beck is part of the problem, not part of the solution. I believe that, in Beck’s muddled mind, he saw himself as being a teacher to the masses (a savior, of sorts, of the American Experiemtn). When his message was not accepted as he desired, he turned coat and became part of the history that he was attempting to teach. He is a brilliant man, but completely off the wall at this point.

Fox is part of the problem as well . As a matter of fact I have finally decided to begin writing on WordPress after years of reading the blogs posted here agreeing yet , to bashful to comment . The media is silencing Trumps Supporters Freedom of Speech . For many years I was a top poster on Newsmax until I voiced that I was a Trump Supporter and refereed readers to the Conservative Tree House to read Sundances outstanding research in regards to Cruz and his cloture vote of the TPP/TPA . I took a beating from not only liberals but the ” Never Trump ” people . I was harassed , bullied and flagged until one day another posters stole my identity and began to post as me. I reported the incident to Newsmax /disqus and I was deleted all my posts removed . Just today the same occurred on Fox news.com I am not blaming Fox for their moderators that are biased to Trump Supporter. I will mention that unlike Sundance the MSM including Fox has avoided any articles in regards to TPP/TPA . Yesterday , was the first article in regards to TPP and Hillary .

I’ve often had to explain to people Beck just a parrot repeating others work. People are strange as they (libs,commies anyway) also had to be told Jon Stewart wasn’t witty but reading something off a screen that created by something called writers. That’s how all TV works.
Beck did admit at least a few times on his Fox show others told him this stuff. Often he said he just learned of it before shows. Things most of us already knew but others get online and praise him for figuring it out Pres. Wilson was globalist a jerk that gave us the foundation of what became the UN. That’s a real hard one considering it’s in the 5th grade history books. Well he did say the UN is a scam which also another hard thing to figure out. Doubt Beck knows what comes out of his mouth. Beck is just a guy filling time and wondering if his checks are clearing from the corporate bosses.
I never actually listen to his radio show. Tried but he was tapping the microphone for at least 30 seconds both times and saying “hear that, hear that.” Kook laughing people will put up with his antics. Not everyone though.

This was hardly visionary stuff. This has happened every single time the islamists and socialists have teamed up: the socialists think they can use the islamists to fight in their revolution(!) and then they wind up realizing that the islamists have taken over (at which point they wind up with their backs against a wall or a noose around their necks).
Every single time.
So of course the islamists like to align themselves with the socialists: they know a pigeon for the plucking when they see one.
And I say socialists because we are essentially talking about secular society…although some of the more fringe Christian-esque groups are showing a distressing concordance with islam as well (although they might as well be secular, as they butcher their faith to the point of unrecognizability).

I’ve been thinking about something all day as well. I hate going down conspiracy theory rabbit holes, but something about the facts as portrayed is bothering me. 300-350 people in a club, and this guy takes out over 100 of them. For the club to have that many people in it, it would have to have multiple well marked exit points. It was also divided up into multiple areas; 2 dance floors for example.
In addition, the terrorist had a small battle with the off duty-cop acting as the security that night, first. So the multiple shots fired before he even started in on the crowd.
So how does one person take out a third of a group that large before they scatter? I wasn’t there, so maybe there’s something I am missing. I did see this tweet, but keep in mind that I have not seen anything to corroborate the claim. I merely share it, so that if you see anything that does, you can post back. For instance, a news story about a victim shot 12 times.

Then there is the story of someone holding doors shut. A witness started talking about it live on the air with ABC and was abruptly cut off as soon as he mentioned it.
A written story also has a witness that states the same thing in even more detail. In addition, he stated there was a second gunman. Was it the security guard? If it was, the below describes it going on for 8 to 10 minutes. A lot of people should have been able to get out as those two were firing at each other. Or were there 2 gunman and someone attempting to bard doors?

For comparison, the Bataclan theater in Paris last fall, had 89 casualties from the terrorist attack. Shy of twice as many. However, there were multiple gunmen guarding the exits, they had suicide vests of which some were detonated, they used grenades, some had actual automatic weapons, and there were 1500 people there mostly in a single large room!
So again, in contrast, here we have 350 people (high end), one terrorist, no explosions, one semi-automatic weapon used (although apparently carrying a pistol as well), multiple rooms, etc… and he kills over 50.

Yes, it made no sense to me, and the authorities have strategically withheld information such as the name of the terrorist, until late morning.
It looks like a replication of San Bernadine, guns and bombs. Both places the bombs were not exploded. Maybe the next one they will get it ‘right’.

50 killed, 53 wounded is not inconsistent with just 2 or 3 mags used @ 30 rounds .223 a piece, plus say another 30 rounds 9mm in the pistol plus mags.
Many of the shots fired at close range will have enough energy left after injuring someone to continue onto the next person in a densely packed crowd.
While the .223 is not as powerful as a .30 caliber cartridge, it is more than enough at close range, and it has the advantage of a lesser recoil that enable it to be aimed more accurately for multiple shots.
I don’t think the terrorist ran out of ammo before he was stopped.

As for the AR and .223 rounds, I am very familiar. You are saying, despite reports of people being hit multiple times (one victim of had 12!), this guy pulled off a greater than 100% hit ratio in this highly chaotic environment? And that’s forgiving the rounds he used on police. You are talking close to 200% hit ratio. No way.
He probably had a 25% hit ratio of UNIQUE targets at best. So 400 to 500 rounds, or more. That is 14 to 17 magazines. And like you said, he went out shooting. So probably more like 20 magazines, and again, if he could average a 25% unique target hit ratio.
I just don’t see it being reasonable. Appreciate the alternative theory though.

15 magazines is quite a bit to carry — not impossible but quite the burden for a terrorist.
Normal combat load is closer to 200 rounds. But this is not normal, is it?

Agree on the numbers. It will be interesting to see what they turn out to be. My calculations were similar to yours. This would require many mags and many changes. 25% hit ratio would seem a reasonable guess. If he just bought the AR a week ago, what did he train with? No way someone does all this shooting and reloading without training. And a security guard isn’t trained with AR15s.

223 is light and compact. Lake City cans of 420 rounds (14 magazines worth) are marked 16.0 pounds. The magazines usually have aluminum bodies and are light as hell.
Hop on amazon or ebay and you can find plenty of 12-mag chest rigs. Buy a decent one that distributes the weight well, and you hardly notice it unless you bend down to pick something up. Add a shoulder bag and/or cargo pants, and lugging around 20+ magazines isn’t hard to imagine.

What scares me with this is that the high numbers of magazine used account suggests many reloads and moments when someone could have attempted to tackle him — and no one did.
Not that I am expecting heroics as I certainly am not capable.
But had there been LEOs confronting him — that would have been the moments to shoot.

If there was only 1 shooter why didnt anyone fight back? Not fighting back only makes sense to me if there were more than 1 shooter. Not that Im some warrior but… I just dont see 350 people taking it from 1 shooter. He shot 103 people and there are reports he was calling people MID attack. He would have had to reload.. and NOBODY rushed him?

Seventhundr, he was using an AR-15 with 30 Rd mags. We don’t know how many mags he had, by=ut that weapon in a crowded nightclub could easily hit 100 people in just a few minutes.
I have not heard about a 2nd gunman, but id someone was holding doors closed, it would only take just the one guy and 5-7 minutes to polish off that many people.

I saw an interview with the DJ. He said he barely heard the gun shots because of the loud music, but he heard what he thought were firecrackers. He turned the music down then was able to hear gun shots. This may be why people didn’t run away at first.

We went to a Gwar concert years ago, and beyond just the loudness, some of the bizarre stuff that goes into their show would have made any real emergency situation almost indistinguishable from the show itself. I know not all groups are as weird as Gwar was, but… yeah…

I just want to note my objection to the phrase “was radicalized by.” It negates personal responsibility in every case. In this case, in particular, it would seem the terrorist was likely “radical” from birth considering his family background. Finally, it suggests that one must be a “radical” Muslim to participate in jihad. I’m not so sure that’s the word I’d use. Carry on… 🙂

I have a letter written by my father, who was a Merchant Marine in WWII. The question was raised as to why shooter drove up from Port St Lucie home, a distance I believe of 90 minutes, for the carnage. Also the question is raised about possibility of multiple shooters. Could this be why he drove his work van to the Orlando site? There seemed to be several cars in the driveway of his home that he could have used unless he was bringing passengers with equipment to Orlando.
Given the chaos of the 3 hour event, wouldn’t it have been fairly easy to escape among the crowd? For these and a host of other reasons, multiple shooters seems more likely. Maybe ballistics tests on all those bullets can prove if all came from the same gun?

U.S. District Judge Gregory Presnell, who freed Robertson in June 2015 with time served, so that this man could organize a “religious” school online to radicalize MUSLIMS (not possible to radicalize a Christian). The judge needs to be relieved of his position as a judge…he’s clearly demonstrated he is not capable of carrying out the law.

The FBI is most likely overtaxed….I heard it takes 8-9 agents working full time to keep track of one suspected terrorist. The media reports that nearly 100 agents are working full time to investigate Hillary Clinton and her foundation……so if we can’t, because of lack of man-power, surveil jihadi’s it could very well be because Hillary is more dangerous than ISIS.
