House Speaker Paul Ryan answered a few questions from reporters today about the upcoming meeting with republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.  One of the continuing phrases Ryan repeats is his belief that he and Trump come from two different wings of the party:

Speaker Ryan’s response highlights the 2016 electoral shift.  A ‘common sense’ conservative movement (wing) is focused on fiscal responsibility and solutions. While the preferred Ryan (big government wing of progressive UniParty) constructs focus on Wall Street’s legislative agenda.
Candidate Trump represents an existential threat to the UniParty, and Ryan correctly points out that position puts Trump and Omnibus Ryan at oppositional ends of the spectrum.
All legislative behavior evidences a key and consistent point of there being only one current party in Washington DC, the UniParty.
The UniParty is a legislative division of Wall Street. Donald Trump exists in a world far outside this beltway apparatus, in the land where the majority of Americans also reside, Main Street.

*NOTE* in the Ryan legislative bailout of Puerto Rico you might notice specific language intended to ensure Bain Capital (primary bondholder) is repaid.  Bain Capital is Mitt Romney’s financial firm.
