UPDATED: March 30, 2015 10:05 a.m.

WASHINGTON (WNEW)Two people are injured Monday after an incident at the gate of National Security Agency headquarters, Fort Meade officials say.

There are multiple reports that a shooting took place, but no officials have confirmed.

A Ft. Meade employee tells WNEW that an announcement was made to employees that the incident was cleared, but the gate is closed.

This is a developing story.

Today’s incident is the second near the NSA headquarters at Fort Meade, MD this month.  Local news reports that another shooting took place, striking the NSA building on March 3, 2015, near NSA Headquarters, but not on NSA property, and is suspected to be related to a shooting earlier that day on the ICC (Intercounty connector) parkway. A suspect in this earlier shooting is in custody and has made his first appearance, according to Anne Arundel Police.

Former corrections officer Hong Young, 35, admitted to police he opened fire on the National Security Agency’s headquarters and said he was involved in four other area shootings before being denied bail on Monday March 9th, 2015 in a televised hearing.

Young told officers when he was arrested on March 3 that voices made him carry out the shootings, according to charging documents provided by Anne Arundel County police.

Young faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, assault, firearms violations and reckless endangerment, according to police.

Young admitted to police that he opened fire on the National Security Agency headquarters at Fort Meade, Maryland, on March 3, striking a building at the spy agency, police said.
