Stunning New Dot Connections – Methinks the White House doth protest too much. I would love to see Josh Earnest try to square the circle of this recent revelation.
The facts of this story have existed in discussion since last year, yet failed to capture traction until the recent protestations of VP Joe Biden, and Secretary of State John Kerry.
From a radio interview in October of 2014 Mark Levin discusses with Michael Leeden the details of a secret message sent by candidate Senator Barack Obama to Iran in 2008 via a former Ambassador, William G Miller.
In essence the content of the communique was Senator Obama telling the Iranian government not to negotiate with the outgoing George Bush administration because Obama was more friendly toward the position of Iran and he would work to structure a more favorable outcome to the Iranian people.
Here’s audio of the 2014 conversation between Levin and Leeden:
It is a remarkable revelation given the level of apoplectic response recently from the White House and State Dept. to a rather innocuous “open letter” from 47 Senators.
President Obama, Joe Biden and John Kerry shouting about how wrong it is for the Senate to publish their opinion, yet it is now clear that Senator Obama not only communicated with the Iranian government in secret, but he did so specifically to undermine President George W. Bush during prior Iranian negotiations.
As Breitbart explains: […] Biden, like his boss, fails to do his homework before making outlandish statements or else chooses conveniently to overlook the facts.
Livid over the GOP letter, Biden proclaimed: “In thirty-six years in the United States Senate, I cannot recall another instance in which Senators wrote directly to advise another country.”
Directing his venom at the Senate’s Republican majority, Biden claimed the GOP letter was “expressly designed to undercut a sitting President in the midst of sensitive international negotiations…(an act) beneath the dignity of an institution I revere.”
Biden need not go back that far to find a senator who sent advice to a foreign power when similar “sensitive” negotiations were ongoing. Seven years back is far enough.
According to Pajamas Media columnist Michael Ledeen, in 2008, a Democratic senator sent a personal emissary to Tehran encouraging the mullahs not to sign an agreement with the outgoing Bush Administration as negotiations would take on a much friendlier tone following President Bush’s departure from office.
That senator was a presidential candidate at the time. His name was Barack Obama. (read more)

Upon consideration of this latest revelation – Things like this (2014), and Like this (2013) make more sense.
I think I heard Reagan played a similar game in his election…
However there are so many Obama scandals with everyone looking the other way that I really don’t think anything will be done this time. H3LL Obama was helping his Uncle in an election while a Senator and not a damn thing was done..

I don’t understand your reference to Reagan, if it has to do with Iran. The hostages held by Iran were released within the moment(s) of Reagan taking the oath of office. They did not want to be found holding Americans by force, the minute Reagan was POTUS. That was no game.
Perhaps you are referring to something else.

There are lots of stories about Reagan having people delay the unfreezing of certain Iranian funds and some other things in the period b/w when he was elected and when he was inaugurated. Carter was doing everything to get them released before he left office (like up to the second before he had to leave) but was unable to get it done and some say it was b/c of Reagans people pulling strings behind the scenes. The Iranians being fearful of him probably played a role but not the main role.

And just to be clear, I’m not referring to the October surprise conspiracy theory. This all allegedly happened after Reagan had already won the election but before he was sworn in.

Whether or not its true—There have been for many years stories of how Reagan campaign made a deal with Iran for them to hold American hostages until after the election.

Hm – that’s interesting. I don’t understand how they thought dealing with Reagan would be to their advantage.

I always heard that Reagan promised Iran several million dollars in military equipment if he won the election. All Iran had to do was hold them until the election if they wanted the extra help.

“Whether or not it’s true” – so you don’t care if it’s a lie, eh? The Left has been lying so totally and so viciously for so long, that nothing they say can be taken at face value.

Okay, You all better think about getting rid of ISIS and all of the terrorist groups invading our country & how we’re going to deal with that issue. The POTUS has already made it clear that Islam will rule America, so if you want to get on your knees and have your butts up in the air, you better consider HOW our country is going to survive, and quit calling each other names.

Most likely he told Iran that they had better release the hostages or the USA would declare war. I also bet that he waited till he was president elect.

I’d like to think that the POtuS-elect did that out of ignorance and/or nativity in an attempt to justify his being GIVEN an Peace Prize and hoping to further the size of his Wikipedia history cite. The alternative is too scary to contemplate.

But not before his ego – even then I can’t believe that he didn’t know his Igors were not out influencing/buying/doing whatever to get him a Peace Prize. Deliberations may be secret but names of connected nominees tend to slip out and to believe that the Prize wasn’t a planned party of the sales job just doesn’t ring with me. Then again, it could just be my bitter clinger European-heritage racist mindset.

I simply want to know the how-and-why behind people being SO very certain about being elected that they feel free to make deals prior to being placed in office. Obama may not be the first, but he certainly is the most blatant and continues to act with an arrogance I have not seen before, not even with the Clintons who take second place until we unravel all those e-mails.

Obama is letting the “Mad Mullahs” get nukes, and he is giving them their money back to pay for them:
–The Obama administration on Wednesday paid $490 million in cash assets to Iran and will have released a total of $11.9 billion to the Islamic Republic by the time nuclear talks are scheduled to end in June, according to figures provided by the State Department.
Today’s $490 million release, the third such payment of this amount since Dec. 10, was agreed to by the Obama administration under the parameters of another extension in negotiations over Tehran’s contested nuclear program that was inked in November.
Iran will receive a total of $4.9 billion in unfrozen cash assets via 10 separate payments by the United States through June 22, when talks with Iran are scheduled to end with a final agreement aimed at curbing the country’s nuclear work, according to a State Department official…
Iran will have received a total of $11.9 billion in cash assets by the end of June if current releases continue on pace as scheduled.–

I’d read a few months ago that Bari also convinced the Iraqi government NOT to sign a SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement) with the Bush Administration. We heard in the last year or so that Bari’s Administration (aka Jokin’ Joe) never really tried to get a SOFA (per the Pentagon) before Bari abandoned the country in the runup to the 2012 elections. This was part of his promise to the morons who continue to double down on stupid that he would end wars “responsibly”.
What Bari did was leave Iraq vulnerable to any and all terrorists (in this case, ISIS) who waltzed in and took over a major chunk of the country while Bari stalled for time and was reluctant to bomb them while they really were the JV Team. As IS now conquers more and more territory in the Middle East, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard is now swooping in to defeat them and conquer formally held territory for themselves, including Iraqi oil. So Bari is basically handing over Iraq and its oil to Iran. Apparently, he not only promised more “flexibility” with Vlad after the election, but he also appears to have great “flexibility” with Iran as well. I wonder how the trolls feel to know that Bush and Cheney didn’t take the oil to pay for the war, instead leaving it for Iraq to rebuild its infrastructure and Bari gave it away to our enemy instead.

So he knew he would win the election? Same as when he was caught off mic saying he could better negotiate with Putin after. Everyone knows Bilderberg (and others) hand pick the president.
American elections have been fixed for years. They only need the appearance of a fair election for nobody to ask questions. Obama probsbly won the first, but I guarantee his second was stolen.

I remember when he did this, and I considered it treasonous, but of course in 2008 (and ever since) it was (and still is) a raaaaacist thought crime to say anything other than mindless glowing praise about the things Obama does which can undermine and/or harm the United States of America.

I still have trouble with having a president whose history and documentation are inaccessible. That, to me, should have been the #1 disqualifier. But for inexplicable reasons, they let this man pass vetting with the democratic party. And for inexplicable reasons, we have several influential republicans in leadership who are actively protecting Obama. And now we find a then junior senator sending an ambassador to Iran? Is a senator even entitled to do that? And the message was “when I am elected…”?
Why isn’t the word conspiracy used in all of this? It’s deep and thick and complex but it is amazingly apparent.

You’re opening some interesting envelopes. Why does a junior senator who has not been an instigator of one legitimate piece of legislation not drafted by Emil Jones suddenly become privy to contacts that allow discourse with Iran?

Maliki backs Obama timeline
This, along with Bush’s shift to support a general time “horizon,” seems to shift the Iraq debate a bit:
He demurred when asked if he prefers Obama in general to John McCain.
One element of this question I haven’t seen explored: Maliki and other Iraqi leaders must be aware of their ability to affect the U.S. election, particularly this fall.
…………………..
God only knows what other groundwork he laid while he was SENATOR Obama visiting the Middle East.
