To quote the Obama administration: “Call it the stupidity of the American voter, or whatever“, but for obvious reasons the beltway oxygen is being sucked into telling the story of the Senate Committee Intelligence report on “Enhanced CIA Interrogation Techniques”, while ignoring the fact that another pentagon report has yet to surface.

As the CIA report is breathlessly awaited by the leftist storytellers, and media – but I repeat myself, almost no-one is asking about releasing the Army investigation into Bowe Bergdahl which has been complete for three months.
Obviously one report, the CIA report, allows a story to be told which will disparage U.S. interests; the other report, Bergdahl, represents a political risk.  To the latter, back in October as the investigation was announced to be complete:

[…] Army spokesman Wayne Hall said the review process likely would be lengthy, and that “the Army’s priority is ensuring that our process is thorough, factually accurate, impartial, and legally correct,” according to the report.

The Army is looking into whether Bergdahl had deserted his post in Afghanistan or was away without leave before he was captured, which would be violations of, and punishable, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. (link)

Alas, the CIA interrogation report appears to hold a more favorable opportunity for story telling:

[…]  While the full, 6,800-page report on interrogations under former President George W. Bush is expected to remain classified, a nearly 500-page redacted summary is expected to be released soon by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.

The summary will likely contain new information about techniques used by the CIA when interrogating terrorism suspects in the years after the 9/11 attacks.

CIA officials have opposed releasing the summary, arguing it could jeopardize national security, and have worked with the White House on making redactions to the public document.

Republicans on the Intelligence Committee have also objected to the findings of the report, and withdrew participation in the investigation shortly after it began. Their dissent is expected to be released alongside the report from Democrats. (link)

As with the narrative of current racial division and anxiety, the value for the White House is in advancing a story – –  facts and pesky details be damned.  “Call it the stupidity of the American voter, or whatever”, but emotional stories carry the fuel needed to advance leftist objectives.
President Obama and those around him are all advocates of critical ideologies that need to use emotional storytelling in order to advance.  Through their narratives, and projections of their interpretations into the media psyche, they sell a very specific story of unfair American dominance.
Within their story telling facts and/or reality can inherently be a risk, ergo the actual facts of what happened in Ferguson, the facts of what intelligence challenges existed in a post 9-11 world et al, are not so important as the story about America they want to sell.
The facts are irrelevant, the story is the goal.
Their collective goal is for the purpose of prosecuting their chosen defendant, the American constitutional and legal order, which must be disparaged, deconstructed and rejected in order for a happy successful ending.
Yet again, you can clearly see how connected this approach is to the life long leftist world view of anti-capitalism, anti-freedom, and anti-American objectives.
How do they continue pulling this off?
Call it the stupidity of the American voter, or whatever“…..
