Thinking of the data centers…remember learning to program a computer by punching holes in a card. The challenge was to create a repeat, we used The 12 Days of Christmas. 😁

I filled up a garbage can every day processing mortgage payments at the bank when I was 16 years old. But I had an error-free submission rate! Not bad for minimum wage in 1971.
Me too, cuz’ I was walking from the library to the data center and dropped the 500+ cards I’d just finished. Of course I didn’t bother to number them. A very hard lesson to learn for sure. Later they installed CRTs in the Data Center. A friend showed me this really cool game called “Star Trek” it was mostly just periods moving across the screen, but it was still very cool for the time. We played with it for a couple of hours him and I using our class account. At the next class our professor informed the class that 95% of our allotted computer time was used by someone in the class playing the Star Trek game. He could not tell who did it because there was only on sign in for the entire class. Not individual accounts for each student. When we learned that we breathed a huge sigh of relief, but the professor held a grudge the rest of the semester and the Dean was furious. Ahhh the good old days. LOL
Professors and Deans rarely had a sense of humor. Maybe that’s why they were Professors and Deans!

I went to the LA Times website to check on the current election results and they’ve only “counted” around 64% of the votes in the governor’s race and around 59% in the LA Mayoral race.
I’m afraid both Steve Hilton in the governor’s race and Spencer Pratt in the LA Mayoral race are going to get “jobbed” and both will fail to make the November election. Check out this bullet point I saw on the LA Times website this morning.

It’s not about the SAVE act. It’s a law enforcement effort. More laws to be ignored or broken will not fix this. These electronic machines need to be banned nationally and the mail-in voting needs to be curtailed down to a select few legitimate cases. If they can’t do that, then it’s game over.

We as parents or grandparents are the first and last firewall between our progeny and evildoers.
These days I consider medical personnel in that category …if they want mothers and fathers out of the way.
If they want a family member out of the room, then there’s a 99% probability that there is some nefarious intent.
I would be having a conversation with the doctor to determine if they were aware of what their staff was doing and if they were aware, find another doctor…
At the veterans clinic they used to ask with great pomp and circumstance if my husband wanted me to leave the room while they asked him private questions and he would wave them off with a “no.” Then they would ask my infirm husband, in a wheelchair, on continuous oxygen if he “was being sexually abused” by his caregiver. His standard answer was, “I wish.”
This type of garbage time-wasting question came into medical offices with Obamacare. The sequence was so long you wondered if they would ever get around to the point of the visit.
Not to mention the number of patients sexually assaulted by medical providers.
Could have been an attempt to trans groom her or LGBTQ groom her. Anything is possible in our society today.
An alert and suspicious mom who has been paying attention.
Any parent who would walk out on an 11 YO just because a nurse asked is a Very. Dangerous. parent.
And I’m someone who thinks kids should be free to run around the neighborhood and come home “when the streetlights come on”.

When I was 11 years old, I had bronchitis. I had had pneumonia years earlier and every cold went straight to my chest. A simple course of antibiotics and a few days of bed rest and I would be fine…
My mother took me to our pediatrician, a wonderful caring man, who happened to be out of the office that day. Instead, I saw his partner, a creepy older hippie looking man that I did not like! He told my mother to wait in the lobby and then he told me to slip off my pants. I looked him square in the eye and said, “I have bronchitis – it’s in my chest and I need antibiotics and we’ll be done here.” He literally shrugged, said, “Oh, well…” wrote the prescription without another word and walked out of the room. I told my mother about it on the way home and she was horrified that I had talked back to a doctor!
Whole different world back then but I am very thankful that if God gave me such a naïve mother, He also gave me an extra serving of discernment and an attitude to go with it !

We’ve tried. I live in Joyce’s district. We had an excellent candidate who had been a state representative run against him several years ago, but the GOPe machine spent scads of money on smear ads. The candidate eventually found less resistance running as a judge, and has done well there.
Often, we get people with no name recognition and little advertising who oppose him, and it goes nowhere. This last primary, there was a woman running against him who ran an unserious campaign, and mailed out her ads a few days before the primaries — too late for any of the absentee or early voters.

The judge seems to forget that the USA does not have to take in any immigrants at all if they don’t want to. The federal govt. under the executive branch is in charge of that per the Constitution. Pres. Trump can certainly stop all benefits, green cards, etc and deport these people if he chooses to. What other country is forced by its judiciary to cater to and accept any and all people who run across the border to get here or who apply for green cards to be granted to every one who wants them. Judges are wrong and need to be told sorry the USA follows the laws in the Constitution re immigration and you have no standing to say anything about it.

In a scathing ruling, a federal judge accused the administration of using “pretextual concerns” of national security to “mask anti-immigrant sentiments.”
A federal judge on Friday blocked the Trump administration from freezing work permits, green cards, citizenship applications and other immigration benefits for noncitizens from 39 countries affected by the government’s travel bans.
The 135-page ruling, from U.S. District Judge John McConnell in Rhode Island, opens the door for hundreds of thousands of people with pending immigration-related applications to have these benefits unpaused. These immigrants were following the rules, McConnell wrote, but were nonetheless unlawfully targeted by the government because of where they came from.
The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services enacted the series of scrutinized policies at the end of 2025, with the administration attributing them — at least in part — to the shooting of two National Guardsmen in Washington, D.C., by an Afghan national in November.

The judge can’t do that. He has no power to do anything re immigration. He, like his peers who are being hired or pushed to make these decisions, will find out they can’t as usual but it will take awhile through the court system.
My guess is all of them are doing it to delay the agenda of the Trump administration especially on the immigration issue. They know they’ll be overturned but they don’t care because their end goal is to delay it all until Trump is either blocked by the midterm takeover of the Dems if it should happen or until 2028.
Trump should just go ahead until the case is finally settled in the SC. He needs to just tell these judges to go ahead and try to stop us.

Assistant US Attorney Robert Renner was also seen observing the ballot processing center in LA County on Friday and reportedly asking questions about the process.
