DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson is rumored to be on a very short list of people being considered to replace outgoing Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel.
So with Secretary Jeh Johnson in mind, here’s two aspects toward that end which both align with the proposition, yet you won’t find them openly discussed amid the pages of the Pretorian guard media.

FIRST ISSUE: Back in 2011 when President Obama was s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g his constitutional boundaries and taking us to {*cough*} war in Libya, via the non-war, war, position and R2P -I digress-there was this pesky little fact of executive overreach with a non-declared war, and Obama’s refusal to request approval from congress.   Perhaps you remember it.
At the time, June 2011, a little known attorney existed inside the Pentagon, Jeh Johnson.  Johnson was the legal counsel for the Pentagon, and as a consequence was also part of the administration’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC).   Jeh Johnson was part of the OLC who told President Stompy Feet his executive foundation for military engagement was illegal.

WASHINGTONPresident Obama rejected the views of top lawyers at the Pentagon and the Justice Department when he decided that he had the legal authority to continue American military participation in the air war in Libya without Congressional authorization, according to officials familiar with internal administration deliberations.

Jeh C. Johnson, the Pentagon general counsel, and Caroline D. Krass, the acting head of the Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel, had told the White House that they believed that the United States military’s activities in the NATO-led air war amounted to “hostilities.” Under the War Powers Resolution, that would have required Mr. Obama to terminate or scale back the mission after May 20.

But Mr. Obama decided instead to adopt the legal analysis of several other senior members of his legal team — including the White House counsel, Robert Bauer, and the State Department legal adviser, Harold H. Koh — who argued that the United States military’s activities fell short of “hostilities.” Under that view, Mr. Obama needed no permission from Congress to continue the mission unchanged. (link)

Remember, according to President Obama we were not technically bombing Libya – we were dropping “unsolicited detonation devices“.
During the 2011 constitutional usurpation the Pentagon’s Legal Counsel, Jeh Johnson – remained quiet.   He knew the political cards had just dealt him a pair of aces, his loyalty was later rewarded…

SECOND ISSUE: … The loyalty reward was the appointment to be Secretary of DHS.  The appointment was specifically to the Department of Homeland Security, and Jeh Johnson is uniquely qualified – because Obama had another usurpation on the horizon.
For well over two years a plan was in place to create a “Border Crisis“, by the summer of 2014 the White House was in execution mode .   What almost everyone failed to notice in the summer of 2014 during the “Border Crisis” -the flood of “Unaccompanied Alien Children”- was the Border Patrol reports to DHS.
If you want to execute a political border scheme you need a political operative running the DHS.  Enter, Jeh Johnson.
During the media driven humanitarian panic, while dying children -yearning to be free- were collapsing in the sand gasping for help {eyeroll}, it was not HHS who went to capitol hill for funding, it was Jeh Johnson.  Jeh Johnson became the $3.7 Billion Dollar Man.

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson said two key agencies in charge of border security are about to run out of money unless Congress approves a $3.7 billion emergency funding request from President Obama.

“At our current burn rate within the Department of Homeland Security, ICE will run out of money by mid August,” Johnson testified, referring to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement”.

“Customs and Border Patrol will run out of money in mid September,” he warned.

Johnson said surging transportation costs and the need to build additional detention facilities has depleted his operating budget. (link)

Isn’t it funny how that horrific crisis just seemed to, poof, disappear.  Good thing congress never gave them the money. Apparently, despite Glenn Beck and Dana Loesch, falling for the ruse,  DHS really didn’t need it.
Why?  Because the entire construct of the “UAC crisis”, was a fraud – a ruse – a scheme.
border fence 7 UACIn early August we shared the fact that well over 40,000 reported UAC’s were missing from this years record keeping.  The facts catching up with the ruse.
Well, the truth was/is they’re were not technically missing because they never existed in the first place. DHS, which compiles the reports coming from the Border Patrol, and then gives the statistical summaries of the reports, had artifically inflated the apprehension numbers to support the White House narrative.
However, DHS, or more accurately Jeh Johnson, could not divert the end user of the apprehension reports, The Executive Office of Immigration Reform, the entity who controls the court dockets, from recording the missing reports.
Comparative FOIA’s into the recording agency, The Border Patrol, and the end user, The EOIR, showed the statistical ruse.
The reports were missing because they were never written; they were never written because the UAC’s were not actually real.
When you follow that trail of deception and false record keeping whose desk do you end up in front of?  Yep, Jeh Johnson.  (Full Story Link)

Personally, doubt Jeh Johnson will be the nominee. My hunch being someone more like Wesley Clark.
