ALABAMA – (wkrg)  […]   Victim Mr. Carroll Jordan – A generous man to everyone who knew him—even lending his car to those who needed it.

“Tried to be a good neighbor.”

But that kindness was struck down when two men and a woman walked through his open front door, pulled him from his favorite chair, beat and stabbed him several times. One of those men was 18-year-old Robert Campbell who was arrested this morning after being found at a relative’s house. Jordan’s neighbor actually interrupted the crime.

“She came over here and knocked on the door cause she always does when it’s closed. A strange boy answered the door and when he did, he backed up, she stepped in, saw Mr. Jordan on the floor, bleeding and asked the boy what did he do to him and he took off running out the door.”

“But we know people in the neighborhood are familiar with Mr. Carrol that would go by his house and he would leave the door unlocked so, this wasn’t random, he was targeted,” says Lt. Tommie McDuffie with the Chickasaw Police.

Jordan is in intensive care at USA Medical, pre-existing conditions making his recovery more difficult.
