Flying Pig Alert – AP, yes AP, Reporter Asks Pointed “why” Questions to State Dept….

Turkey’s Erdogan has been highlighted here numerous times. He is not to be trusted, he is a stealth Islamist and might even be a co-conspirator in the attack against the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

Recently he called Israel a “terrorist state”, and yet supposedly Turkey is a primary U.S. ally in the region. Go Figure. But shockingly an AP reporter actually calls out the State Department on their silence.

(Full Story here)  A spirited exchange between Associated Press reporter Matthew Lee and spokesperson Victoria Nuland marked the U.S. State Department’s daily briefing Monday on the continued violence between Israel and Hamas. Lee slammed Nuland for their silence on Israel in what the Administration has labeled “quiet diplomacy.” Lee concluded, “But you won’t stick up for your ally Israel when the Turks, another one of your allies, say that they’re engaged in terrorism in Gaza…” The exchange goes on for nearly three minutes, while Nuland is left defenseless against the charges of silence from the press pool.

Thanks for the post, SDC. First time I’ve ever seen a pig fly, and man, did it fly! An AP flying pig, to boot!

Need more Matthew Lees in the world; also good to note that other reporters let him speak without interruption letting state spokesperson Nuland squirm in answering.

I noticed that too, ctdar, and it surprised me that the other reporters let him continue badgering Nuland to answer. Maybe they wanted the answer too but did not want to ask it themselves. Whatever, I was encouraged to hear AP’s reporter really pressing Nuland to give an answer and not let her off the hook.

Unfortunately, I’m sure his press credentials have already been revoked and he’s being investigated for crimes against the state, real or imagined.

There is a solution: clear the Gaza Strip by relocating the Palestinians into the Sinai. Egypt is preparing to house them. The population of the Gaza Strip is only 1.7 million and it is only 25 miles long. Easy walking distance. Lots of open space in Egypt (Gaza Strip = 146 square miles; Egypt = 387,000 square miles) and they should enjoy living with their Islamic brothers.

  5. Thank you, SD. I enjoyed that very much. Other reporters should take note. This is how they’re supposed to be questioning the administration.

Come on, we are leading from behind, in this case behind the skirts of the State Department.

    Not particularly stealthy:
