BOSTON – A painting that features President Obama posed as Jesus Christ crucified on a cross is on display at a community college art gallery in Boston.

The painting by Michael D’Antuono is part of a larger exhibit called “Artists on the Stump – the Road to the White House 2012.” It’s on display at the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery until Dec. 15^th.

The painting is called “Truth” – and shows the president on the cross with his arms outstretched. A crown of thorns rests on his head. (more…)

Across Atlanta Public Schools, staff worked feverishly in secret to transform testing failures into successes. Teachers and principals erased and corrected mistakes on students’ answer sheets. Area superintendents silenced whistle-blowers and rewarded subordinates who met academic goals by any means possible. Superintendent Beverly Hall (pictured above far left) and her top aides ignored, buried, destroyed or altered complaints about misconduct, claimed ignorance of wrongdoing and accused naysayers of failing to believe in poor children’s ability to learn.  This went on for more than a decade.  (more)

Now this newest revelation comes to light –  It was a brazen and surprisingly long-lived scheme, authorities said, to help aspiring public school teachers cheat on the tests they must pass to prove they are qualified to lead their classrooms.

For 15 years, teachers in three Southern states paid Clarence Mumford Sr. (pictured left) — himself a longtime educator — to send someone else to take the tests in their place, authorities said. Each time, Mumford received a fee of between $1,500 and $3,000 to send one of his test ringers with fake identification to the Praxis exam. In return, his customers got a passing grade and began their careers as cheaters, according to federal prosecutors in Memphis.

Authorities say the scheme affected hundreds — if not thousands — of public school students who ended up being taught by unqualified instructors. (more…)

Of course they do….  everything is racist.   EVERYTHING.  Last month it was Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches that made you a racist, now it’s Turkey. 

(Progressive Logic) […]  But, seriously, I mean no disrespect, especially in this holiday celebration of fellowship and thanksgiving. And, yes, I’m familiar with the phrase “de gustibus non est disputandum“—there’s no arguing about taste. But in the case of white meat from a Thanksgiving turkey, well, I’d argue about that. White meat turkey has no taste. Its slabs of dry, fibrous material are more like cardboard conveyances, useful only for transporting flavorsome food like stuffing and gravy from plate to mouth. It’s less a foodstuff than a turkey app, simulated meat, a hyperlink to real food. […]

And the guy was boasting that his turkeys were “bred to have 18 to 22 percent more white meat.” After which the CBS announcer made a stupid wisecrack about breasts that alone would make you want to forgo the silicone-textured mega-butterballs.

And these are ciabatta-bread people, not Wonder Bread people! Do they still associate white meat with refinement? It was enough to make me wonder whether there could be a racial, if not racist, subtext here. Perhaps there is a clue in the shifting fate of the “other white meat”—pork. (more…)

According to the following CBS report 16-year-old Taylor Fitting was riding in the backseat of a friends vehicle.   They were travelling, near home, while in a city with a comprehensive handgun ban.  At 10:30pm, as their car slowed to drive over a speed bump, a group of Teens shot into the car hitting Ms. Fitting in the face and killing her.

CBS reports “she was in the wrong place at the wrong time“….

Perhaps I am reading too much into the official explanation, but: Given the potential for DEATH by bullet – Can someone, perhaps even someone in law enforcement, please publish a comprehensive list of the “right time” and “right places” we may be permitted to travel so that random attacks by groups of black males with guns, who shoot for no apparent reason,  can be avoided?

Obviously there are geographies within the United States now considered “out-of-bounds” for freedom of movement.   The U.S. State Department currently publishes a report of similar warning methodology outside the United States in their Travel Advisories.   Perhaps now a listing of these “restricted travel areas” within the United States would be appropriate – no? Cut to the chase – You know why?   Because it was empty.  No-one was trying to do anything to help Our Americans while they were being attacked and murdered over the course of 9 hours from 3:40pm DC time to after Midnight when Ty Woods and Glen Doherty were killed.

Obama went to bed while Woods and Doherty begged for help.   The 3am phone call rang at 3pm and it was ignored …” – take a message – we’ve got a fundraiser in Nevada tomorrow”..

PROOF – The White House Photo Office has declined CBS News requests to release images taken of US officials during the Sept. 11 Benghazi attacks. (more…)

The bankruptcy judge listened to Hostess request for liquidation of assets but noted a technical aspect.   The Union never entered any mediation – they just went on strike.  Thinking the average rank and file union member might have a divergent opinion now they they realize the company will indeed liquidate, the Judge says give mediation a try now, thinking the union will pressure the leadership to change opinion.

TWINKIE PRIDE – Hostess Brands Inc. and its second largest union will go into mediation to try and resolve their differences, meaning the Irving, Texas-based company won’t go out of business just yet. The news came Monday after Hostess moved to liquidate and sell off its assets in bankruptcy court citing a crippling strike last week.

The bankruptcy judge hearing the case says that the parties haven’t gone through the critical step of mediation and asked the lawyer for the bakery’s union to ask his client, who wasn’t present, if he would agree to participate. (more…)

Yes, I actually watched live at 3am because I was essentially viewing this presidential speech in the similar vein of the 2009 Cairo speech.   What would Obama project to the world as his goals moving forward.    Having said that, it indeed is highly reflective of what we can expect both here and projected abroad for the next four years.

You really only need to watch the first 5 to 7 minutes to get the gist of it. (more…)

Today we wish the best of days to our own “ytz4mee”… blogger, warrior, and mighty voice for conservative principles. Yatz is a woman on the go, and you never know from where she may be popping in from time to time as she swings by and grabs a limb on the Tree. She has inexhaustible energy,  and passionately gives voice to the principles we all hold so near and dear. Today, we hope she’ll pause in the pursuits of  battle,  settle down under the Tree,  and join us for some coffee, a bit of peameal bacon, and a generous helping of cake as we join in celebration of her birthday. (I’ll bet someone might even stop in with a Silver Bullet or two and a bottle of Jack a little later in the day, just to keep things going.)

Yatz not only contributes to the Treehouse, she also maintains her own blog, “Stop Shouting”, where she has earned high praise from Prof.  Jacobsen,  and was the recipient of the much coveted “Instalanche” for her article,  “My Rebuttal to a Progressive who Admonished Me to Play Nice ….”.  I think in light of the latest election results, her article deserves to be revisited.  Please, pour yourself another cup of morning coffee, and enjoy…..  (more…)

The consistent lies and outright scheming from the Obama White House are about to reach sunlight.  Various intelligence reporters are now pointing out that Petraeus is stating the Susan Rice “talking points” about Benghazi DID NOT come from his intelligence office gathering, they came from the White House.  (Obama screwed up yesterday when he openly took ownership of them – his handlers are freaking)

EYES WIDE OPEN – Now reports are leaking that Petraeus is “under investigation” for security leaks.  THIS IS NOT ACCIDENTAL OR UNCONNECTED.  Remember the goal: The White House GOAL:   1.) Move current opinion of Gen Petraeus 2.) Use CIA Angle as cover for misleading information. 3.) Take no responsibility for the lies and falsehoods.
