MISSISSIPPI – It has been a little over eight months since 19-year-old Jessica Chambers was set on fire and left to die on a Panola County back road. A FOX13 investigation uncovered what appear to be new leads and a renewed hope in the case.
Panola County Lead investigator Barry Thompson was in court all day and could not speak on camera, but he did say he felt good about the case. He added investigators are still tying some things together. (more…)
An intellectually honest person cannot read the details behind this investigation and not see the potential for parallels to the Mississippi Jessica Lane Chambers murder, and Yemeni gas station owner/operator Ali Alsanai; aka Basem Alsanai, aka Ali Fadhel.
The First Stop gas station and convenience store, where Jessica Chambers was last seen alive on video, is owned/operated by a seemingly sketchy family originating from Yemen.
ALABAMA – A couple of steaks shoplifted at a Gardendale Walmart three months ago led to the biggest food stamp fraud investigation in Jefferson County’s history, and launched 11 simultaneous raids this morning at convenience stores countywide.
Led by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office, teams of law enforcement officers met at 5 a.m. for a briefing and then fanned out across the county beginning at 6:50 a.m. The officers and agents were armed with 242 arrest warrants and plans to arrest 17 suspects.
All 17 suspects were in custody by mid-morning, and investigators already today have filed for forfeiture and condemnation of those 11 stores, which totals more than $1 million in assets. (more…)

No new information has been released by officials in Courtland, Mississippi, regarding the investigation into the December 6th murder of Jessica Lane Chambers. However, the social media chatter has picked up extensively since District Attorney John Champion announced the timeline of Ms. Chamber’s activity on the day she was killed.
It is the community discussion around the missing hour of 6:30pm to 7:31pm which has brought clarity to events leading up to the tragic night she was killed.
For a person who is new to the entire case much of what is going on might seem disjointed, disconnected or rather innocuous. However, for those people who have followed the case, and the severely bizarre investigative practices within it, there is actually a clarity emerging.
A clarity which may even explain the bizarre statements of the chief investigator, DA John Champion. (more…)

Accepting the timeline as presented, and accepting the 7:31pm USMS geo-location, one has to wonder. “Right house, wrong Eric”? Surely, the police could not be that naïve. Surely they know there’s another Eric, a younger Eric, at the same residence.

Something not adding up.
Previously DA Champion gave a timeline for Jessica’s activity on the day she was murdered. The activity he outlined was based on CCTV capturing her movements, interviews with people who talked to or saw her on the day in question, and USMS technological forensics in tracking her cell phone; this is called geo-location. The full 20 minute press conference with DA John Champion is available HERE. After some initial review, here is some takeaway.
Champion outlines not only the timeline for Jessica’s activity on December 6th, but he also inadvertently timelines the investigative authority. Confirmed within the press conference is a confirmation the Panola County Sheriff’s Department, Sheriff Denis Darby, was the first law enforcement agency to respond to the murder (Saturday 12/6/14).
The next agency to assist on the case was the US Marshals Service (USMS), who became involved the next evening (Sunday 12/7/14), which is the same day DA Champion responded to the crime by arriving in Courtland Sunday afternoon.
The third agency was the Federal and/or State Alcohol Tobbacco and Firearms (ATF) team who engaged by the end of the first week due to the arson aspect of the case. Those agencies were soon followed by the FBI who, according to Champion and Darby, they asked for forensic and technical assistance. (more…)
A few hours ago the lead investigator in the Jessica Chambers case, Mississippi District Attorney John Champion, gave a press conference outlining the timeline of Jessica’s activity on 12/6/14, the day she was brutally killed.
I did not see the interview and we are awaiting video from Local24 a Memphis News Station.
