Jessica Chambers Murder – Day #71 – Mom's Last Words To Jessica Chambers…

Sad.
I hate to be the one to point it out, but some of the timeline described in the article is simply impossible. There is a video at the link worth watching for those who have followed this horrible event from the beginning.
jessica chambers angel image(Clarion Ledger) Lisa Daugherty knew she had to be brave for her daughter, Jessica Chambers, as the teen lay in a hospital bed in Memphis after being burned alive on a rural road in Courtland.
She summoned the courage to walk into Jessica’s hospital room, having been told her daughter was burned beyond recognition. But Daugherty knew her little girl when she saw her, and she knew she had to give her permission to let go. (more…)

Investigation Going Nowhere – FBI Puts Jessica Chambers Billboards In Three States – Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas….

The investigation is going nowhere because Panola County officials, specifically Sheriff Dennis Darby and District Attorney John Champion, want it to go nowhere. In addition, the severely dysfunctional family of Jessica Chambers, lead mainly by her mom Lisa Daugherty, hold full trust and faith with an investigation that is going nowhere because it suits their best financial interests. Jessica Lane Chambers Murder Case – Day #58 – "Investigators Not Getting Anywhere"…

Here’s a local and lame media report, which includes a video segment, liable to add to the frustration meter.  I doubt there is another region in the entire country whose media and reporters are as bad as North Mississippi.
Lisa daugherty 2 w heatherPANOLA CO, MS (WMC) – It has been almost two months since Jessica Chambers was discovered horribly burned near her car in Panola County, Mississippi. Investigators say after more than 100 interviews, and one day away from what would have been Chambers’ 20th birthday, they still have no idea who killed her.
“We don’t know who it was,” D.A. John Champion said.  Chambers’ friends and family are just a few of the people around the country who want to find #JusticeForJessica.
The publicity surrounding her story caused bloggers to take their opinions and push them online. Many of those bloggers are casting criticism on Champion and the investigation into Chambers’ death. (more…)

Jessica Lane Chambers Murder – Day #54 – Community Plans Birthday Memorials…

Jessica Lane Chambers was born on February 2nd 1995. Next week she would have been 20-years-old however, she was brutally murdered on December 6th and despite a $53,000 reward the lead investigator, District Attorney John Champion, shares the case is at a standstill.
With no new evidence surfacing, it makes you wonder why the DA would be reluctant to provide the full CCTV video from her last known location – At this point, what would the police have to lose.
jessica chambers angel imageMISSISSIPPI – […] The brutal death of the happy teen with the sunny disposition almost two months ago has turned Courtland and Batesville upside down as people have tried to make sense of it, and tried to figure out not if there’s a killer in their midst, but who it might be.
Chambers was found on Herron Road in Courtland a little after 8 p.m. on Dec. 6, walking away from her burning vehicle with burns over 98 percent of her body. She died of those wounds. (more…)

Jessica Lane Chambers – Day #49 Murder Case Update – ATF Increases Reward To $53,000

On Thursday evening, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms put out a release announcing the addition of $10,000 to the $43,000 currently offered. That includes money from U.S. Marshals Service, FBI, Mississippi State Fire Marshal’s Office, CrimeStoppers, and private donations.

“We all have a vested interest in arresting and bringing to justice the person(s) responsible for this heinous crime,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge Phillip Durham. “Arson is a crime of violence leaving physical and emotional scars that last a lifetime. Only those victims who have survived understand the sheer terror of being attacked by fire. Unfortunately, Jessica Chambers’ life was cut short, as she did not survive.” (link)

jessica chambers selfieJessica Chamber’s car was doused from bumper to bumper with an accelerant, presumably gasoline.  Volunteer Fire Chief Cole Haley incident report notes upon arrival (8:13pm) “the car was engulfed in flame”.
Non-typical disposition – Upon inspection three vehicle tires were completely burned away, one was barely present.  Historical investigative presentations indicate during a “typical car fire”, the tires, along with the vehicle undercarriage, are the final elements to fully ignite.
The current pattern strongly suggests each wheel was doused, in addition to the exterior sheet metal, as gasoline was poured lengthwise around the circumference of the car.
Accepting the burn pattern as an indication of intent, the killers/arsonists appear to have wanted to torch every inch of the car, inside and out – and not just the victim herself. (more…)

Jessica Lane Chambers – Day #42 Murder Investigation – Recent Updates, Reward Increase, and FBI Alert

mississippi-burning-jessica
jessica chambers recentWhile we are no longer presenting daily information, we have committed to continuing research and highlighting story updates. Here is a summary of recent activity surrounding the case to include: Lisa Daugherty interview, FBI Bulletin, reward increase and Donald Joy article.
On Thursday evening January 15th Lisa Daugherty, Jessica’s mom, gave an interview hosted by True Crime Radio. The interview is available HERE and starts about 7 minutes into the program.
Because of the poor questioning during the interview, an interviewer seemingly unfamiliar with the case and an interview style far to concerned with the feelings of the interviewer, little can be gleaned from the interview. However, what can be extracted is more detail into the victimology profile of Jessica Chambers.
Having listed to the interview twice, here’s a summary of my notes: (more…)

The Mississippi Burning – The Self-Inflicted Investigative Challenges Of The Jessica Lane Chambers Murder…

By now most people are aware of our decision to stop analyzing and researching the Jessica Chambers murder. If not, well now you are.  That said, and because of the exhaustive previous research by all of you genuinely good truth-seekers, an explanation is warranted and deserved.

My apologies in advance for any length of explanation – And prior to explaining, allow me to assert a belief that investigators probably know who did it.
The problem is proving it.
From day #1, when we became aware of this incident on December 7th,2014, we immediately noticed that not only did this story hold a series of various agenda items which might lead to a buried lede story (FTP and BLM protests);  but also the entire construct of the media reports themselves were indicating a very troubling beginning to what should normally be a serious murder investigation.
When you understand why, you understand the current dilemma. (more…)
