James Gandolfini, the New Jersey-bred actor who delighted audiences as mob boss Tony Soprano in “The Sopranos” has died following a massive heart attack in Italy, a source told the Daily News.
James Gandolfini and his wife Deborah Lin, who gave birth to a baby girl in October. The couple married in Hawaii in 2008.
“Everyone is in tears,” the source close to the 51-year-old TV tough guy said. (link)

NSA leaker Edward Snowden showed a Hong Kong newspaper classified documents that revealed the specific IP addresses in Hong Kong and China the National Security Agency may have hacked.
Snowden gave the information to the South China Morning Post, which reported on Saturday that though the “detailed records” cannot be independently verified, they “show specific dates and the IP addresses of computers in Hong Kong and on the mainland hacked by the National Security Agency over a four-year period” and “also include information indicating whether an attack on a computer was ongoing or had been completed.” (more…)

(via TPM) Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Wednesday defended his objection to initiating House-Senate budget negotiations unless Democrats take a debt limit increase off the table, saying he doesn’t trust his party to hold the line.
“The senior senator from Arizona urged this body to trust the Republicans. Let me be clear, I don’t trust the Republicans,” Cruz said. “And I don’t trust the Democrats.”

WASHINGTON DC – CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson said on Tuesday that her personal and work computers have been “compromised” for over two years.
Attkisson told a local Philadelphia radio station that she has been working with investigators to discover the source of the activity.
“There has been an issue in my house and there has been an issue with my computers that’s gone on for quite a long time that we’re looking into,” she said. (more…)
NEWARK NJ – US Airways flight with 34 people aboard was forced to make a dramatic belly landing at Newark International Airport last night.
Terrified passengers managed to escape the plane unharmed after the plane’s pilot – named by witnesses as Edward Powers – performed a heroic emergency landing.
Video footage of the turboprop twin-engine plane coming down on the runway showed a dramatic shower of sparks flying from its underbelly as it scraped across the tarmac, however, miraculously no fire was started. (more…)
