(Via Breitbart) […]  According to Fox News, de Blasio’s proposed plan to increase the minimum wage is getting as negative a reception as the plan to fund universal pre-K. Author Barnini Chakraborty notes that the latter has run into significant problems as New York Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed a state-wide universal pre-K plan that would make de Blasio’s tax hike unnecessary–something de Blasio flatly rejected.

Fox News notes that Cuomo called the idea of making rich neighborhoods fund themselves separately from the rest of the state “repugnant.”

The minimum wage plan might meet a similar fate in Albany.

In his State of the City address, de Blasio’s minimum wage increase plan featured prominently along the universal pre-K idea and new proposition to give government identification to illegal immigrants, which would allow them to open bank accounts and access other resources in the city. (more…)

TENNESSEE – President Barack Obama on Friday waded into a high-stakes union vote at Volkswagen AG’s plant in Tennessee, accusing Republican politicians who oppose unionization of being more concerned about German shareholders than U.S. workers.

Obama’s comments, made at a closed-door meeting of Democratic lawmakers in Maryland, came as the vote to allow union representation at the Chattanooga plant drew to a close.

The vote will have wide-reaching implications for the auto industry in the South, where all foreign-owned assembly plants employ nonunion labor, and for the United Auto Workers union, which could use a victory to reverse a decades-long downward spiral.

The vote has faced fierce resistance from local Republican politicians and national conservative groups who have warned that a UAW victory could hurt economic growth in Tennessee. While voting was under way on Wednesday, Republican U.S. Senator Bob Corker said VW could announce new investment in the plant if the UAW lost the secret ballot.  (read more)

The transparency of the progressive movement is obvious.   In the 2012 election cycle we were introduced to Sandra Fluke and her demands of tax-payer funded contraception; this evolved into the ‘War On Women’ faux-outrage campaign.

In this 2014 election cycle the angst needs additional victimization check boxes.  Ergo you are being introduced to a “black” (check box one for race/victimization),  “gay” (check box two for sexual orientation/victimization), “collegiate football player” (check box three for youth vote/victimization), Michael Sam, who announces his sexual orientation as a measure of his fluke-like worthiness to the progressive left.

Whether Michael Sam is a good football player, a man of strong moral fiber, or an intellectual powerhouse, is irrelevant to the cause.

If he does not get drafted into the NFL the narrative will be because he’s gay and the NFL is homophobic – A successful victim, very useful.

If he does get drafted into the NFL it will be because the world is changing and *despite his victimization* he has succeeded.   A successful victim, very useful.

One only needs to look at how the progressive left is scripting the introduction to know that YOU WILL SEE THIS NAME EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR.

ALL YOUR CHILDREN ARE BELONG TO US ! – Two things to consider as you review the outline “School Gets Kids to Snitch on Parents“.

First, do you remember the Wisconsin School Teachers Union, and their activity around opposition to Governor Scott Walker’s financial reforms? If you do you’ll remember the teachers bringing students to protest with them, along with Madison University students and the fake doctors notes that resulted in investigations of fraud.

Secondly, if you read George Orwell’s 1984 you might remember Winston Smith’s mindless neighbor Tom Parsons, who believed all Party doctrine unquestioningly. Yet he wound up undergoing state torture because his state-indoctrinated brats were encouraged to turn him in for being a thought criminal ?

Wisconsin School Gets Kids to Snitch on Parents – The game is called “Cross the Line” and many outraged parents believe that it does just that.

A middle school in Marinette, Wisconsin got a group of 5th-8th graders together and organized a really fun game that asked students to step forward to answer “yes” to a series of highly personal questions.

Questions like:

Do your parents drink?
Do you cut yourself?
Has anyone in your family been to jail?
Have you ever wanted to commit suicide?
Do you or your parents do drugs?

Unbelievably, school administrators believed that this “game” would help the kids to be better and kinder friends. “The intent of this activity was to build stronger, more respectful relationships among students,” said Principal Shawn Limberg. David Simon, a former police beat reporter in Baltimore, MD and creator of the popular television series, “The Wire” implies that Libertarians in America are “greedy” and decries Libertarianism as a “juvenile” idea that he “just can’t get past….”  

Clearly upset that Fabian ideology is not taking root in the 20-somethings community, while the Libertarian movement is growing as an identified political affiliation in the cohort,  he gave a speech in Australia in November, 2013 at the “Dangerous Ideas” conference declaring “Libertarianism in my country is now being taken seriously as an intelligent mode of political thought… it’s astonishing to me… ” (around the 8:00 – 10:00 mark) and then goes on a screed to deliberately disparage and attempt to dismiss the Libertarian school of thought – including the assertion that Libertarians are “anti-government” (as Moyers chuckles along in agreement…)  Fraidy cat!

WASHINGTON DC – The Democratic Party’s biggest Super PAC, recently retooled as an early pro-Hillary Clinton effort, will sit out the midterm elections this year.

A spokesman with the group, Priorities USA Action, confirmed to BuzzFeed on Wednesday night that it would not be involved in House or Senate campaigns.

“House Majority PAC and Majority PAC are doing everything right and making a real difference. We fully support their efforts,” said the spokesman, Peter Kauffmann, referring to the main groups supporting Democratic congressional candidates. (more…)

“The children belong to all of us” ?   Hmmm.  How positively Clintonian.

(CNSNews.com) – In addressing criticism of the Common Core national  education standards, a panelist at the Center for American Progress  (CAP), a liberal think tank, said critics were a “tiny minority” who  opposed standards altogether, which was unfair because “the children  belong to all of us.”

The CAP was founded by John Podesta, former chief of staff to Bill  Clinton and now an adviser to President Barack Obama.  At a CAP event to  promote Common Core on Friday, CNSNews.com asked about the critics who  say federal monetary incentives attached to Common Core is driving the  states to implement the standards. There is a considerable amount of chatter amid the blog-o-sphere for an interview Hugh Hewitt had with former Clinton White House Counsel Lanny Davis. [ Transcript here ]

Most of the attention has focused on the final segment question where Hewitt challenges Davis to summarize Hillary’s accomplishments as Secretary of State, and Davis cannot name one:

LANNY DAVIS: … more time, which is at some point, at some point, if she runs for president, Benghazi and every other issue she’s being criticized for, and I happen to believe that there are only a handful of people that hold Benghazi against her. I don’t think that that’s a serious political issue for her.

HUGH HEWITT: Okay, then give me one more thing.

DAVIS: But she’s got to do it. She’s got to do it if she runs for president. And she knows that.

HEWITT: All right, one question, you’ve got a minute. Summarize for me what she accomplished as Secretary of State.
