We have outlined many recent examples of Prog ideology regarding freedom and choice.  From the “you didn’t build that” of President Obama, to the “we know best” of Mayor Bloomberg.   But this recent example provides the greatest clarity and lifts any remaining clouds of doubt:

Former Speaker of the House and current Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told an audience of more than 600 college students last week that President Obama has signed many “expansions of freedom” into law since he took office in 2008.

Pelosi, speaking at a youth conference hosted by the George Soros funded Campus Progress, said the President’s work with health care best illustrates his agenda to increase civil liberties for American citizens.

“Central to all is the Affordable Care Act, which we think is about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,” said Pelosi. “A healthier life, for liberty, to pursue your happiness.”

The former Speaker also listed new laws pertaining to hate crimes and Don’t Ask Don’t tell as examples of legislation that has expanded American freedoms.

President Obama has personally given $5,000 to his own reelection campaign, an official confirms to POLITICO.  Yesterday, Michelle Obama’s rather lavish $6,800 blouse/jacket was in the headlines.   So his $5,000 self contribution is actually less than he would spend on a shirt for Michelle.    No biggie…. they feel your pain and stuff,… really.  No, wait,  seriously… 

WASHINGTON DC – In an email to supporters this morning, Obama said that he had given to his own reelection campaign  [$5,000] for the first time as a symbolic gesture.

“On its own, what I gave won’t be enough to surmount the unprecedented fundraising we’ve seen on the other side, both from our opponent’s campaign and from the outside groups and special interests supporting him,” Obama wrote. “But we have always believed that there’s nothing we can’t do when we all pitch in. That includes me.”

Michelle Obama and a single $6,800 blouse – Which, according to lefty media Obamanomics, now creates jobs or something… 

You wouldn’t know it from the Lame Stream Legacy Media but Mitt Romney was a HUGE hit in Israel this week.   His speeches were to rousing standing ovations, massive crowds and an incredible amount of support and appreciation.   Israelis are optimistic and hopeful the cloud of President Obama’s pro-Israel deceptions are soon to be removed.

So right on cue the Democrat leadership spearheaded by Nancy Pelosi, and the water-carrying media -using soon to be defunct Newsweek- join with Robert Gibbs and David Alexrod to begin an all out assault on Mitt Romney.    The alinsky tactics are entirely too predictable anymore.  

ISRAEL – Mitt Romney on Sunday declared Jerusalem to be the capital of Israel and said he would seek to move the U.S. embassy there from Tel Aviv as president if the Israeli government ascents.

“A nation has the capacity to choose its own capital city, and Jerusalem is Israel’s capital,” the presumptive Republican presidential nominee said in an interview on CNN, conducted in Jerusalem. “I think it’s long been the policy to ultimately have our embassy in the nation’s capital of Jerusalem.”

Romney gave several televised interviews and delivered a speech in Jerusalem during a trip to Israel aimed at emphasizing his ties to the close U.S. ally and boosting his support among Jewish Americans and supporters of Israel. (more…)

As I reviewed the “tip line”, I noticed the IG Fast and Furious report is coming out very soon….  (From July 24 )  Congressman Trey Gowdy, South Carolina Republican, and Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Utah Republican, both met with newly appointed Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz last week [which would have been mid-July…. /SD], Rep. Gowdy told me on Wednesday, to discuss when the IG will release his report on the investigation into the now defunct ATF “Fast and Furious” gun walking operation.

“He said weeks and not months,” said Rep. Gowdy referring to the timeline IG Horowitz gave him and Chaffetz as to when the IG’s report on Fast and Furious  will be released to Congress. (more…)

First The White House, well, more specifically President Obama uses an executive order, intentionally non-reported by the media, to give the DHS full control over all privately owned communication networks nationally.  Cell phone, internet, and land based telecommunications.

Then the White House authorizes, (again by non-media reported executive order) the regime enforcement branch (DHS) to use military spy drones for use in all areas of ‘national importance’ to enforce “citizen safety“.

Following, and in preparation for, the regime enforcement branch (DHS) orders 450 million, yes million, hollowpoint bullets.     While ammunition itself seems not too unreasonable of a request by a major federal entity that emphasizes domestic durability and safeguarding the country from coast to coast, the choice — and quantity — of its hollow point order raises a lot of questions about future plans for the DHS.

ATK says they won their contract with the US government by being able to provide them with 450 million HST bullets, which it describes as “the next generation in high performance duty ammunition.”

What does that mean, exactly? On their website, the contractor claims that the ammunition is specifically designed so that it can pass through a variety of obstructions and offers “optimum penetration for terminal performance.” Or, in other words, this is the kind of bullet designed to stop any object dead in its tracks and, if emptied into the hands of the DHS a few hundred million times, just might do as much.

The regime then quietly (february) demands a control enforcement mechanism nullifying the 2nd Amendment in any proximity to a federal government official.  –  The US House of Representatives voted 388-to-3 in favor of H.R. 347  (Feb) a bill which is being dubbed the Federal Restricted Buildings and Grounds Improvement Act of 2011. Not content with controlling donut, soft drink, salt and slurpee consumption,  New York Mayor Bloomberg shifts his focus to things of a more, well, personal nature when he proclaimed – “Hospitals Should Lock Up Baby Formula To Force Women To Breastfeed”.

New Yorkistan City – Starting Sept. 3, the city will keep tabs on the number of bottles that  participating hospitals stock and use — the most restrictive pro-breast-milk  program in the nation.

Under the city Health Department’s voluntary Latch On NYC initiative, 27 of  the city’s 40 hospitals have also agreed to give up swag bags sporting  formula-company logos, toss out formula-branded tchotchkes like lanyards and  mugs, and document a medical reason for every bottle that a newborn  receives. It has become well established that the Corporate Media, as it exists today, no longer focuses on objective “reporting”, but serves solely as a high priced conduit for editorializing a particular point of view or Agenda.  Even the “News” pages are mere fig leaves for proselytizing the mantra that is au courant.

A recent example of this egregious behavior is in the rush by the Progressive Left to politicize the shooting in Aurora, CO as the work of the “Tea Party”.  Disingenuously,   Brian Ross of ABC News “reported” (/sarc/) that the alleged shooter was a “Tea Party” member, and nationally “outed” on live camera a local resident and Tea Party activist.

Except that Brian Ross was wrong.  Very, very wrong.  And if he knew – he didn’t care – he rushed to live camera to breathlessly report what was an acute error.  And hopefully – a very expensive one for ABC News.

This story is so typical of ‘Hollyprogs’ it’s almost funny.   Almost.

Singer Madonna recently called French National Front leader Marine Le Pen a “Nazi,” because of her views on immigration.  (Marine Le Pen is essentially most easily described as a French version of Sarah Palin)

In typical prog fashion Madonna only knows the Hollyprog talking points and is insufferably waddling around in the shallow end of the geopolitical gene pool near her ex-hubby Sean Penn.    Hollyprogs love to talk about warm and fuzzy stuff like “open borders” regarding immigration, as if people of the world can just go on life long walkabout until they find a country they like, then just pitch their tent. The frustrating thing from my truthseeker perspective is the seeming unwillingness of the media sorts to ask the obvious question:   Why change attorneys between the arrest/bonding ($1000) hearing and the plea?   What happened?

HatTip arkansasmimi  ORLANDO – Shellie Zimmerman says she’s not guilty of perjury.  Her new attorney, Kelly B. Sims, today filed paperwork, entering that plea on her behalf. That means that she won’t have to show up at the Seminole County criminal building Tuesday for arraignment.

Zimmerman, 25, is accused of lying when she told Circuit Judge Kenneth Lester Jr., while under oath, that she and her husband were broke.

At the time, prosecutors allege they had ready access to $130,000, money donated by supporters of her husband, murder defendant George Zimmerman.

Friday was the first time Sims, a board-certified criminal-trial specialist, was identified as Shellie Zimmerman’s lawyer. The Orlando attorney has been practicing in Florida for more than 20 years and has worked on high-profile cases in the past. (more…)
