HatTip Ctdar (via Politico)  The Journal News of West Nyack, N.Y., has hired armed security guards to defend its offices after receiving a torrent of phone calls and emails responding to the paper’s publication of the names and addresses of area residents with pistol permits.

RGA Investigations, a private security company, “is doing private security at on location at the Journal News as a result of the negative response to the article,” according to a police report first obtained by the Rockland County Times (Nanuet, N.Y.) and shared with POLITICO. The guards “are armed and will be on site during business hours through at least January 2, 2013.” (more…)

I see horrifyingly evil “opinions” expressed by fellow Americans every day on Twitter, and in comment sections of  blogs. They don’t just disagree with conservatives – they want us to shut up, lose our jobs,  be financially ruined,  or to drop dead. They actually root for Republicans to die, and when they do die, the ghouls celebrate their deaths.  Not just one or two weirdos  – but huge packs of them.

We originally presented this back in June 2012. However, in the face of the current conversation regarding gun control, it is appropriate to revisit the concept of Law Enforcement and “affirmative duty”:

In the video, and in the article, the local law enforcement again repeat the mantra she was “lucky” and it is best to avoid confrontation/contact with attackers. However, does anyone consider that the “avoidance principle” is exactly what empowers these attackers to escalate their activity?

Two teenage boys, one 16 and one 18, grope young Ms. Dang, and let’s say she just took off running, what do you think these boys will do next time? While I certainly agree that a person should never put themselves knowingly in a position of danger, once that danger is encountered I do not subscribe to automatically thinking the best option is to engage the “victim” mentality. Three black teens, ages 17, 17, and 19 kidnapped a woman and raped her for five hours. The suspects live in a predominantly black area, but reports confirm they travelled to hunt for a woman in a demographically 96% white area. Naturally the media censors the race of the victim.

UPPER DARBY — Three young males, allegedly on the prowl to rob someone Christmas night, terrorized, kidnapped and sexually assaulted a Newtown Square woman, police said.

The victim, 22, was carjacked at gunpoint, raped and forced to perform oral sex while being driven around the city of Philadelphia and Upper Darby for five hours, according to police.

The three suspects, identified as Brehon La-Vaan Rawlings, 19, of the 400 block of Arbor Road, Yeadon, Kevin Jones, 17, of Pemberton Street, Philadelphia, and Kewon Matthews, 17, of the first block of North Millbourne Street, Millbourne, were in custody by days end Dec. 26.  Both juveniles are being charged as adults. (CNSNews.com) – The Iranian Christian pastor who was acquitted just  two months ago on charges he converted from Islam to Christianity and  freed from prison has reportedly been re-arrested in Iran.

Sources close to Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, including the British  group Christian Solidarity Worldwide and the American Center for Law and  Justice (ACLJ), say the Iranian Christian pastor was reportedly taken back  into custody on Christmas Day. (more…)

For three days we have shared the story of The Journal News / LoHud.Com and their decision to publish the names, addresses, and contact information of lawful gun owners.  Today they doubled down on stupid;  However, you can sense in the writing of it, they are only just now becoming aware of the potential backlash.  

Here is what they have written today, in response to their initial article, initial decision, and the feedback received so far:  (we inserted some feedback throughout  /SD)

WHITE PLAINS — Thousands of people, many from outside Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties, have taken to their computers and phones in rage after The Journal News posted an online database of local gun permit holders.

The database, legally obtained from the county clerks’ offices through a Freedom of Information Act request made after the shootings in Newtown, Conn., that left 20 children and eight adults dead, has been called irresponsible, dangerous and leaning toward intimidation by several online pundits.

Notice how they insert the affirmative position they have done nothing “illegal”, and then pull into that affirmation the dead victims in Newtown.

Social media played a big part in the exponential spread of the story, whose map has been recommended more than 20,000 times. Two Facebook posts linking to the story on Sunday garnered 346 comments as of this evening. That’s in addition to 167 comments posted directly to Facebook.com/LoHud since the story published. Yesterday we shared an article from a Gannett Publication “The Journal News” located in New York.   Many persons were, and are, outraged this media publication sought to publish the full names, addresses and contact information of lawful registered gun permit owners – essentially handgun owners.

The lead up article is HERE, and their article with interactive mapping is HERE.

The political ideology of the publication is abundantly evident in their articles, and to a larger sense visible within the editorial board who would advance such a decision to publish information.    They hold far-left views.

Their decision to publish the registered gun ownership visibly exemplifies one of the most vocal arguments by Second Amendment advocates who rail against registration.  Namely, f a political decision to confiscate was ever carried out only those who have lawfully abided by registration laws would be subject to confiscation.   But there’s more. Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow’s acclaimed docudrama about the pursuit of Osama bin Laden opened Wednesday at five theaters in New York and Los Angeles.

The film, an early Oscar favorite, graphically depicts coercive CIA interrogation techniques, including the waterboarding, domination and psychosexual humiliation of a detainee, who is, variously, collared and leashed like a dog, stuffed into a cramped “confinement box” and stripped naked for questioning in the presence of a female investigator. There is absolutely no doubt a negative opinion toward Israel is an ideological qualification for any Cabinet Level position within the Obama Administration.    Having Zbignew Brzezinski out front is just further affirmation of this.   Brzezinski has been a part of Obama’s ideological life since the early days at Occidental College, through his Columbia University *cough* mystery thesis, and into the administration as a Senior Foreign Policy Advisor.  (In the picture below Zbignew Brzezinski is the guy with the gun, the bearded guy wearing the beret peering over his shoulder is Osama Bin Laden)

(WFB) As questions swirl around the prospective nomination of Chuck Hagel as President Barack Obama’s next defense secretary, the White House has begun mounting an effort to defend the former Nebraska Senator.

As part of that campaign, Zbigniew Brzezinski appeared on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” early Thursday to push back against charges that Hagel is a poor choice for the job.

Brzezinski told the MSNBC anchor team, which includes his daughter Mika, that Hagel’s “critics, they would like to plunge the U.S. into some new wars, promptly, and not always for U.S. national interest.” (more…)
