State VS. George Zimmerman

The Orlando Sentinel weighs in on the recent filings in the George Zimmerman case.

Benjamin Crump:  Resist we must, and we much, about that, be committed….

bdlr and OmaraORLANDO – Attorneys for George Zimmerman Thursday asked an appeals court to reverse the decision of a Sanford judge and allow them to make Benjamin Crump, the attorney for Trayvon Martin‘s family, answer their questions under oath.

It is a battle defense attorneys have been fighting – and losing – for months.

They twice asked Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson to allow them to depose Crump, and she twice said no, most recently one week ago.

Now, they’ve asked the Fifth District Court of Appeal in Daytona Beach to overturn her decision. (more…)

Krauthammer Cuts To The Chase…

FOX News Charles Krauthammer hits the nail squarely on the head. Dear Leader bit off more than he could chew when he choose to attack gun control as a legacy initiative. It’s going nowhere because, despite what the media tells you, the majority oppose the idea(s). Senators and Congresscritters have been swamped by constituent calls about gun confiscation efforts.

Now Obama just uses the issue to generate campaign money. Period.

“All he wants now is the money… He’s lost on gun control. Do you think any of this is going to make any difference? It’s not going to make a bit of difference. Knowing all that he’s out there exploiting it as an issue. He’s not going to get the solution he wanted.”

Gun Confiscation: New York Man’s Pistol License Suspended, Police Attempt To Seize Guns (After His 10-Year-Old Son Talks About His Water-Gun At School)…

Handgun(Via WeaselZippersNEW YORK  –  A New York father has had his firearms all but confiscated after the Suffolk County Pistol License Bureau suspended his pistol license indefinitely over a perceived threat made by his 10-year-old son and two of his classmates at school.

John Mayer, of Commack, N.Y., told TheBlaze that the incident occurred on March 1. It was like any other day, the father explained. He put his son on the bus and sent him off to school.

Later that day, Mayer got a call from school officials informing him that his 10-year-old son and two other students were talking about going to a boy’s house with a water gun, “paint gun” and a BB gun. There had reportedly been a school yard pushing incident the day before involving the boys, excluding Mayer’s son, and they were seemingly talking about getting even in some way. (more…)

(Via Campus Reform)  The U.S. government is working to murder 2 to 3 billion people worldwide using genetically altered food and depleted uranium bombs, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan told students at a school-hosted speech at Tuskegee University late last month.

Dems Want Amnesty Immigration Bill Rushed – White House Wants Illegal Voting Block Available/Eligible Before Mid-Terms in 2014…

Another one of those ‘PASS THE BILL TO SEE WHAT’S IN IT’ manuevers.  The last time did not work out too well.  [See: Obamacare]

Patrick Leahy (center) is pictured. | AP PhotoWASHINGTON DC – Senate Judiciary Chairman Patrick Leahy vowed to move swiftly on immigration  legislation despite calls from conservatives, including Sen. Marco Rubio, to  slow the process.

Reacting to a Rubio (R-Fla.) letter over the weekend calling for extensive  hearings on the soon-to-be-unveiled immigration bill by a group of eight  senators, the Vermont Democrat said his panel would “consider” holding a hearing  on the measure once it was introduced. But Leahy raised concerns that waiting  too long could undermine the larger effort to pass the comprehensive bill,  calling the matter “urgent.”

Senate “Gang of Eight”

“While you have conducted the process of the ‘gang of eight’ behind closed  doors, I can assure you that it has always been my position … that the work of  the Committee should be open to the public,” Leahy said in a Tuesday letter, (more…)

UN Passes Obama-Supported Arms Treaty… “Global Gun Ban”

Obama - One Flew Over the Cuckoo's NestUNITED NATIONS – The Obama administration joined 153 other nations Tuesday in approving an arms trade treaty opposed by the U.S. gun lobby.

Adoption of the treaty sets up a showdown between the White House and Congress, where a majority of senators have called on the president not to sign the treaty because it regulates small arms.

In one of the amendments to the Senate Budget last month, lawmakers voted 53 to 46 to stop the United States from joining the treaty.

The administration and treaty proponents say it would have no impact on the Second Amendment, since it applies to arms exports and not domestic arms sales.  (read more)

Dictatorial Fiat – Dear Leader Signs Executive Order To Begin Nationalizing Elections….

Remember the famous “fabian socialist mantra” – It’s not who votes, but who counts the votes that matters…..

Obama signs debt ceiling billWASHINGTON DC – President Barack Obama signed an Executive Order Thursday establishing a Presidential Commission to deal with “election administration” that critics say is an attempt to nationalize the country’s elections for partisan advantage.

The Executive Order states the Commission “shall identify best practices and otherwise make recommendations to promote the efficient administration of elections in order to ensure that all eligible voters have the opportunity to cast their ballots without undue delay.”

The Commission will focus on polling places, how better to train and recruit poll workers, managing voter rolls and poll books, voting machines, ballot simplicity, English proficiency, and absentee ballots. The states–not the federal government–traditionally have responsibility over such matters. (more…)

Atlanta Public Schools – Criminal Charges For 3 Doz Educators After 2+ Year Investigation

It has been almost two years since we first discussed the rampant corruption in the Atlanta (Georgia) Public School System.   The initial reports were alarming beyond measure, and now the criminal charges are being discussed/levied.

ATLANTA – In another embarrassing blow to Atlanta public schools, nearly three dozen  former educators, including the ex-superintendent, were indicted Friday in one  of the nation’s largest test cheating scandals.

Former Superintendent Beverly Hall  (pictured left) faced charges including racketeering,  false statements and theft because prosecutors said some of the bonuses she  received were tied to falsified scores.

Hall retired just days before a state probe was released in 2011. She has  long denied knowing about the cheating or ordering it.

During a news conference Friday, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard  provided examples of two students who demonstrated “the plight of many children”  in the Atlanta school system. He described a third-grader who failed a benchmark  exam and received the worst score in her reading class in 2006. The girl was  held back, yet when she took a separate assessment test not long after, she  passed with flying colors. (more…)
