Many people are looking at the number of votes Democrat Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa received in Texas and wondering how it is possible. Hinojosa won more votes than Kamala Harris in ’24 and beat incumbent Governor Greg Abbott by almost a million votes. How is this possible?
Well, to understand why Texans voted blue, perhaps it is worthwhile listening to the candidate. I would challenge readers to set aside their expectations and just watch five minutes of a lengthy interview Hinojosa gave. She sounds like a much better candidate than Greg Abbott. WATCH – Prompted
She may well believe in some stuff other social stuff that is completely looney, but in her presentation of the “economic populism” message, she is far more eloquent than most of the GOP candidates.

Living in Texas this my first real introduction to the eloquent candidate. She barely campaigned in this crazy election environment. I don’t buy this .
Dont
From the “Way Back Machine”…(Sherman, do you remember, 1976?)
When I started my collegiate career, way before my A & M affiliation…in Denton, TX…there was an election to make Denton County “wet”…the locals were very strongly of a “Bible Belt” belief system and did not want that election to even happen due to the fact that there were two universities in the town of Denton…one with a few frat houses and the students could vote.
I think Denton Co then had a resident population of 6000 people and 60,000 steer and probably 20k college students…The residents were afraid, back then, of the problems that unregulated alcohol purchase and consumption, could bring…
At the time, in order to buy alcohol, one had to belong to some ‘club’ or something…in fact, at the Holiday Inn…they gave my dad two tickets to buy a drink in the lounge…I think he went back south to Dallas Co and bought a bottle somewhere…and he and mom drank their wine in the hotel room…it was a very “dry” county….
“You’ve come along way baby”?
Speak loudly, boast about what you just said & then do very little of what you promised or even don’t follow through – (PDJT / Senate Republicans/ GA – Texas). Sad but largely true!
While there are some terrible governors who are men, just look at the track records of the 17 governors who are women or who are governors or about to enter the governors’ offices for the first time.
Look at their actual ability to reason carefully and logically,
at their ability to identify what is really important to the wellbeing of Americans,
at the importance they attach to the fight against crime and drugs
at their stance on individual responsibility vs nanny state,
at the fraud they have bought into in matters like climate and Covid,
at their grasp of Math and History,
at their ideological fixations,
at their openness and honesty,
at where they stand on the need for states to live within their means and budget wisely.
While there is certainly a dismal failure of men in these leadership roles,
women in seats of power does not bode well for any country.
Look at the performance of women as heads of state especially in Europe and in the EU.
Patriotic Americans must hold them accountable for promoting law and order, good laws and benefical regulations, and valuing hard work and fair remuneration.
