Media are now reporting the U.S. has removed all Air Force’s bombers, including B-1s, B-2s, and B-52s, on Sunday from RAF Fairford base in the U.K.
The bombers were redeployed back to their home bases in the United States, AP reported, initially citing a Pentagon official who was not authorized to discuss sensitive military movements and spoke on condition of anonymity. However, multiple news outlets are now reporting on official statements from the Pentagon.

Just last night I watched (part) of the Irish football (American soccer) team play against Israel in Serbia – I think.
Not only did they refuse to shake hands as is customary with their opposition, they wore black arm bands, hung their heads during the Israeli national anthem, and refused to exchange pennants before the game.

Our home in North Wales was situated in a valley with the main road access higher up.

Can’t help but suggest that this move follows the UK denying US demands to place the base under US Control and allow US Physical Security assets to be deployed.
The base is a major staging point that removes allot of flight time and crew fatigue for missions they fly and this is a loss. The US assets redeployed to the US can still strike Iran, Areas Bordering the Red Sea and Africa but at a higher risk of added flight time .. adding stress to the airframes, more in-flight refueling risks and added crew fatigue.
The base is under UK RAF Control and RAF Physical Security. This withdrawal is a slap n the face to the UK Government and MoD .. yet the UK likely could care less that they have insulted.

Oct 7 is a very significant date for at least radical Muslims. Important battles/wars seem to start on this date. Besides what happened in 2023, we have the start of the Afghanistan invasion in 2001 by a coalition of Western/Christian nations. But I think the importance of Oct 7 started with the Battle of Lepanto in 1571, a major defeat of the Ottoman Turks by the Holy League, a coalition of Catholic maritime states of Europe. I am wondering if the radical Muslims want to “redeem” that date in their favor for posterity.
