Barbara Boyd opens with diesel: as Ukraine’s strikes on Russian refineries tighten the world’s supply, President Trump threatened to halt U.S. diesel exports unless Europe released its emergency stocks, and the G7 agreed to release 100 million barrels. She presents it as the opening move of a 35-day economic offensive running into the midterms. The week of action includes Trump’s visit to the Peterbilt truck plant in Denton, Texas, where employee Sarah Renshaw credited tariffs for 1,000 new jobs; his Oklahoma rally; a White House luncheon with tech leaders on superintelligence; what the White House calls the largest steel plant ever built in the United States, coming to Iowa; Vice President Vance at the groundbreaking of Saronic’s Port Alpha shipyard in Brownsville, Texas; and South Korea’s plans for an Alaska LNG pipeline, a 6-gigawatt power plant in Texas and eight nuclear reactors.
On affordability, the episode walks through price increases under Biden (energy up 33% from January 2021 to January 2025), Vice President Vance on the inflation crisis he says the administration inherited, refining capacity, housing regulation and immigration, Secretary Kennedy at the MAHA Summit on AI giving every patient a better-informed second opinion, and the White House fraud task force’s crackdown on Obamacare enrollments. It closes with Michael Shellenberger’s account of the student riots in France, French intelligence tying the movement to Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s France Unbowed (LFI), and NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman on a new golden age of space exploration. The “Enemedia” will make sure this stays buried.
We really are going to need another Trump term for 2028 to make all the stuff he’s doing stick.
I don’t know what other republican would be up to the task. What PDJT does and how he does it strikes me as irreplaceable.
I’m sure he will make sure that whoever he endorses will guarantee that they will stick to his long-term plans!
Hopefully highlighting some of the good outcomes will help motivate turnout. Sadly I’m certain we’ve lost the House and the Senate might need some upsets to hold a Republican majority.
Not going to happen. If you are watching any media (especially Faux) don’t waste your time. If have already left them behind – you are ahead of the game.
It takes more work to find out what is really going on based upon rational and informed analysis from rational and informed presenters.
Ironically, many channels on YouTube have been getting it right including the one Sundance highlighted.
As Sundance regularly reminds us – we have to start asking how does what the p!$$stream “reports” make any sense.
We are the larges producer of oil in the world. WTI price is up. Who receives that money? The US.
I have a theory: Trump will pay the $5000 “dividends” from the windfall profits in oil.
“ She presents it as the opening move of a 35-day economic offensive running into the midterms.”
More than a little late. Most people have already decided how they will vote and many already have voted.
There’s corporate price collusion going on before the Election, I don’t think they can make it there before some relief starts setting in, one thing the selfish greedy m-fers won’t do is get caught holding the bag. This is why we can keep helping by keep fighting inflation:
Modern American Legally Abetted Corporate Monopoly Pricing:
Keep fighting inflation, #1 Only buy what you need! #2 Look around and be creative (look at what you’ve already got). Know that there’s a 99% chance you’ll be disappointed with the corporate Chinese garbage they’re trying to pawn-off at Wal-Mart, Costco, and the whole conga-line of other traitorous distributors (run by ass-holes from the north-east-corridor). #3 Do what’s right! Get your money back. I know that can be difficult with shipping expenses and fuel prices but try – it’s your public duty. Don’t just throw it in a donation pile – that’s how they win. #4 Go step by step, don’t be impatient, don’t ever get ahead of yourself by wishing in more items and compounding the problem (this is where I believe the merchandizing crisis in the United States was a phycological-operation executed by the Chinese), get-by until you can get your hands on the right item that you need – half the time you’ll discover a better way by doing this and won’t have to make the purchase at all.
