The AI developers are requesting “regulation” which includes liability protection for outcomes as a result of users running their models. The investors into those AI developers also want regulation and liability immunity to protect their investments. This is the group now positioning for government regulation and selling the voices who control that decision (politicians) based on a pitch that includes government control over AI information. This is the group that will trigger the false flag to generate public support for AI safety.
The ordinary individuals & businesses who have seen their intellectual property stolen by the AI groups, the individuals who have watched their copyright protections violated, the corporations who benefit from increased AI efficiency but also see the downside from publicly exposed trade secrets now being widely available, would be the plaintiff group in a series of predictable lawsuits against the AI developers.

When you put your information out on the Internet and someone uses it how is that a copyright violation?
The only data AI has information on is in the public domain on the Internet. My personal bank account information is with Wells Fargo and AI doesn’t have access to it.

IP is the proprietary creative information of the corporation developing it, the very basis of filing it for copyright or trademark protection.
Financial information of one’s statement is not copyrighted. If that becomes public it’s due to successful hacking of WF’s network.

The businesses using ai have to give it access to thier stuff in order for it to be useful. The ai has been not just using it as needed but copying it all. Then it surfaces somewhere else. The same thing is happening to individuals using ai. In order for it to be of any use it has to have access to your stuff. Not what you wrote on fb, what’s in your computer. All of it grabbed stored and used to train ai. Or whatever else they want to do with it really. I avoid using ai but they recently force installed gemini on my phone (all android phones). I disabled it as best I can but I can see it doing stuff and its sending and receiving data but I can’t see what. Im pretty sure it’s spying on me, on everyone.
Whenever I use AI even for technical information like medical they clearly cite the source of the information including a website link. I think that’s pretty legitimate way to do business.

I’m not going to rebut each item individually because the same principle applies to all of them. Your examples can be right or wrong depending on one crucial question: how was the information obtained and how was it used?
Valid if lawfully obtained and lawfully used. Not valid if improperly obtained, unlawfully disclosed or unlawfully used.
A simple example is the difference between an AI company legally buying books and using them for training versus obtaining pirated copies of those books.
If the information was obtained legally and used legally then AI analysing it is not theft. If it was obtained illegally or used illegally then pursue the company or individuals responsible.
There are good uses of AI and bad uses of AI. The technology itself is not the deciding factor. The legality of how the information was obtained and used is.
If I buy a book for $20, photocopy it and send it to people so they don’t have to buy the book, I am guilty of copyright infringement.

Under Australia: s 43C of the Copyright Act 1968, if you legally own a paper book, you can make a copy in a different format for your private and domestic use, subject to the conditions in s 43C. This can cover buying the paper book, digitising it, destroying the paper book and retaining the digital replacement.
Under United States: 17 U.S.C. §106, the copyright owner has the exclusive right to reproduce the copyrighted work. There is no equivalent general statutory format shifting exception for books. Making a complete digital copy therefore has to rely on an applicable exception, principally fair use under 17 U.S.C. §107.
Buying the paper book, keeping the digital copy solely for yourself and destroying the original are relevant circumstances in a fair use analysis but do not automatically establish fair use. Whether a particular use is fair use can only be ultimately determined by a federal court.
If an AI company legally buys a book, digitises it, burns the physical book then analyses the digital copy, making that digital copy raises a separate fair use question. That is not the same as copying the book for distribution.
Take copying out of the equation: the company legally buys a $20 book, the AI reads and analyses it then distributes or uses the analysis, not the book. No copy of the book needs to be distributed to the public.
That brings me back to my original point: If the information was obtained legally and used legally then AI analysing it is not theft. If it was obtained illegally or used illegally then pursue the company or individuals responsible.

In my area, eminent domain of property for buildings and leased easements for transmission lines is also an issue. They want leased easements for lines, so the land is technically yours, you just can be prohibited from actually using it or accessing parts of it for decades. Saves the business a lot of money because a lease is much cheaper than a purchase, and the politicians who approve easements can claim you are not losing your property.
Hopefully Jesus comes before either of those things.

No false flag should be needed to regulate everybody who uses AI in a production fashion, because AI in its nearly infinite forms is so potentially hazardous to humanity. Whoever doesn’t see that has simply not thought it through nearly well enough.

We have through this sort of excessive fear mongering before with nuclear energy.
It has been regulated into the dirt over as many decades denying people the benefits of accessing vast amounts of inexpensive energy.
So nuclear should never have been regulated? I love nuclear energy, for one reason because it IS so tightly regulated, controlled, licensed, the works. I also have history with how dangerous it can be in the wrong hands OR used carelessly in the “right” hands.
You missed the point of it being overegulated.
Anything used in the wrong ways can be dangerous to people.
Technology, like any tool can be wielded in both constructive or destructive ways.
And you seem to be missing the point about how dangerous AI can be. Along with so many others, failing to even try (apparently) to project how much damage can potentially be done without you or I or anybody noticing till it’s too late — in part because millions of Americans, tens of millions, aren’t even looking. In denial. “What could possibly go wrong?” Well just wait and see.
The third option, the one that will unleash global growth and innovation is true open source of the core engines, models and interfaces. Combine with open standards to ensure competition ensues by enabling value-add – not the control of information.
Level the playing field. Break the monopolies. Make capital available to all. There many brilliant software minds in open source community that will run circles around the likes of Musk, Amodi, Theil. Karp and the rest of globalists’ oligarchs.
America is in far greater danger today from hyperscale data centers which can be instantly destroyed than it will ever be by anything A.I. can deliver.
As one evaluates the nonsensical hype about A.I. taking over the world, that America must remain ahead of China in A.I., one may want to consider what happens in a world where everything is centralized……
Are there better options to hyperscale data centers? Options which you won’t read about because Palantir, Oracle, META and Elon are making sure you are terrified your kids will be speaking Mandarin if they don’t get access to your water and electricity.
Distributed computing is the future of all computing – in war, in business, in your home and throughout your life.
Distributed computing is going everywhere because data is collected everywhere – on your watch, fridge, car, phone, continuous glucose monitor, pacemaker and it needs to be computed – the work must be done, where the data resides, not sent to Elon, Thiel, OpenAI or hyperscale data centers.
The point one may want to consider is perhaps, just perhaps, the single most meaningful change in computing economics is not the size or scope of A.I. – but the distribution system making A.I. available everywhere – and anyone can benefit from it.

The data centers run the AI.
They are building centralized hardware/software architectures instead of open distributed architectures so they can centrally control all of the information.
The BigTech Oligarchs want central control. One wants control through government regulatory powers, the other through massive monopolies. Neither wants open source, open standards or privacy.
That is a good one. Russia has decentralized supply chain and US has centralized. A few bombs and the US has no logistics. Same with AI, a few bombs and we cannot control much of anything. It is why we have to break up the Big Corporations and Break up Most of the Federal Government. We need competition and innovation. The smaller government and corporations are the Bigger the People Are.

Who else gets immunity from debilitating injuries, including death? Pharma. AI software companies are looking for the same protection so they can do whatever they want with no repurcussions.
If one scoured all the various surveys done on AI, it’s not just democrats who don’t want it running amok all over the world, completely unregulated and unmonitored. To me it borders on insanity.

Just occurred to me that the false flag with AI will involve the elections somehow. Maybe like they plan to use an AI distruption to invalidate results or claim AI took over voting machines where GOP won and claim that without control over AI we can’t have fair elections. I think they know Trump will win in the midterms and that they plan an election false flag.
