The Canadian state media outlet, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), responds to the tensions of the Canada-USA relationship by telling all state funded journalists: “Do not refer to the Sept. 11 attacks as terrorist attacks.”
According to the internal communication: “The memo instead described the 9-11 events as hijackings that led to passenger jet crashes in Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and Manhattan. It also said the World Trade Center was destroyed. {citation}
CANADA – The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on Thursday defended an internal memo directing its reporters and editors to refrain from describing the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks as “terrorist attacks,” telling Fox News Digital the guidance reflected its longstanding practice of attributing terms it considers politically and emotionally loaded.
“It is the practice of the CBC to exercise extreme caution before using the words ‘terrorist’ and ‘terrorism,'” CBC Public Affairs Director Kerry Kelly said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “The memo was a reminder of the longstanding practice that favours the use of these terms with attribution in our reporting.”
The memo was authored by Basem Boshra, CBC News’ senior director of journalistic standards and public trust, and surfaced ahead of the attacks’ 25th anniversary. The directive was first reported by Toronto Sun columnist Warren Kinsella, who said it was addressed to CBC News staff. “Do not refer to the Sept. 11 attacks as terrorist attacks,” the memo said.

There is nothing more typically representative of a Canadian than taking the petty approach on any issue.
TRUE STORY: A hotel manager in Europe once asked me, “are you Canadian?” I replied, no, I’m American. We then struck up a conversation. He was a polite fellow. After some small talk he told me he knew I was American, but the general rule of thumb is to always ask if a person is Canadian because if you ask an American if they are Canadian, they will simply reply as I did. However, if you ask a Canadian if they are American the guest will go bananas. So, they just ask everyone if they are Canadian.
The Canadians will tell you that everyone around the world loves them. Maybe that’s true, but everyone I’ve ever talked to said they don’t like Canadians because they’re self-centered and complain about stuff. Terrible tippers too.

It’s true. If you ask a Canadian if they’re American they go bananas. Thats the right phrasing too.
I’ve seen it personally a few times. Canadians think they’re superior and have higher moral standing when really they’re not.
It’s hard to blame most of them. They simply only have the government “news” agencies to umm… disseminate things. They’ve been living in a bubble, in an aquarium, since 1967.
Makes me feel a lot better about my last trip to Canada in 2003. Me and my buddy went up to Deep River, Ontario on a fishing trip. We stayed at KO lodge. Beautiful place near the islands of Petawawa. One night we asked the head of the lodge if there were any offsite bars we could go to. He said the only one near there was a bar where the Canadian Marines hung out at and it likely wouldn’t be safe for us. Me and my buddy completely in unison laughed in his face and said, “Canadian Marines are about as worrisome as middle school students back in DC where we are from.”
I always felt a little bad for uncontrollably laughing in his face, but now I know it was completely warranted. WISH I COULD DO IT AGAIN TODAY. Although you couldn’t pay me to visit Canada again after all this craziness.
Someone is making stuff up. Canadian never has had Marines.
mounties?
My cousin calls the worst trash humans, Canadians.
That is true in a few cases, but I should point out that when you go to larger cities, you get the same arrogance in both Toronto as Chicago. They are lefty run cess pools and produce attitudes just like you explained. When we see Americans in Canada, its likey the same attitude we get, because the ones whe we see mostly are from Dem central.
When your small town or rural people show up, they seamlessly fit into almost everything them encounter.
As A Canadian I find it sad what Canadians have done themselves. I have family in both Canada and the US and have spent many years visiting and spending a fair amount of time in both Florida and South Carolina. Love where we used to stay in Florida, between St Petes and Clearwater right on a gulf beach, a community called Reddington Shores. Great people, I miss many of them now that I have become too old to do the trip by car any longer. Canadians and Americans used to have a fairly common heritage now we no longer know who we are. That is also a sad commentary on the state of affairs.
Canadians have to get the communists/WEF followers out of political office, they are destroying the country. They don’t call themselves communists but it is difficult to distinguish their polices from communism. We shall see. I don’t imagine I will be around long enough to see them completely destroy themselves but they sure are trying hard.
I have one word of caution for my American friends, Islam is evil and deadly. Look around your country if you want to see who a real enemy is. Good luck.
We know,we have been watching them burn your churches down. What is it 400 now?
Well if we cut to the chase, the EU also has always thought of Americans as knuckle draggers. It’s at the foundation of why the lefties fawn for their attention. As usual it’s at the expense of the American taxpayer. It why the trade deficit exist at all, pay for attention.
Boy you got that right. Some kind of collective insecurity. Never satisfied with being free and prosperous, got to brag and show how tough they are. What we used to call chippy. They never miss an opportunity to try and take advantage.
if little man syndrome or small d**k syndrome were a country
if little man AND small d**k syndrome were a country
your welcome
That’s the truth
Chinadians living in Chinada.
Real terrorism is what happened in Canada to Christian churches after the “slaughter of innocent Indian school children” lie was promulgated.
also noting: one of the longest prisoner at gitmo, has LOST an appellate court decision to avoid a trial for his involvement.

nevermind the reference media source. This is a major new item that most of the main stream maniacs have not reported.
take the canada “media” (state controlled) revisionist reporting with a grain of salt.
also …there is good reason to believe that this single person could have not been solely reponsible for what happened in New York.
God Bless America
Kind of funny that after all three of Zero’s and his AutoPen’s terms, we still have Gitmo, and we still hold 9/11 prisoners there.
100x this. I have some stories, honour-bound not to tell alas, about the professional antics of the self-styled ‘superior’ North Americans.
Interesting, how the globalist’s strategy was to develop. Nibbling away at perimeter countries who projected reputations of being populated by socially conservative, no-nonsense citizens, e.g. Canada, Australia. These then became test beds for the policies needed to capture the other countries, until a certain real-estate New Yorker descended an escalator, and the rest is history.
Played on hockey team in Ontario my first year out of high school. The Canadians I met were insanely jealous of the U.S., uniquely perverted (even for 18-year-olds), drunks, and fighters. It was a pretty good time.
Since then, I have met numerous Canadians in the diplomatic community. With the exception of security, law enforcement, and military, they were uniformly P.C. A-holes and woke libtards. Avoid at all costs.
All that said, I’ll bet there are great people in Alberta and the truckers are worthy of respect.
What does the CBC call the 1993 WTC bombing, a love-in?
There is absolutely zero cure for stupid.
Hijackings that resulted in plane crashes.
Like they were a series of coincidences and unfortunate accidents.
I smell the stinky left hand of jihadism at work manipulating language to block thought.
“Some people did something” as Omar the Somalian leared us.
Of all the things for Canadia (my son calls it that) to worry about, trying to tamp down their media coverage of the sorrowful result of the 9-11 terrorist attacks is so incredibly petty and cruel. What a sad, cheap-ass dominion they are. I knew several Canadian families who had moved to the US in the Sixties; they would be ashamed of their ex-countrymen today! Indeed, I think the “good ones” have left the place, and the not-very bright ones have remained to complain about their neighbor to the south.
I worked for a company with a canadian management team for about 4 years. I would do everything within my power to not repeat the experience.
Very happy, polite and smiley to your face, but you better be ready to get f***ed once you turn your back.
Some suggest:
The correct description is “false flag attacks”.
Only a certain opaque US agency could have pulled off such a controlled demolition with the cover ruse of hijacked planes.
Or rather, contractors. Controlled demolition of skyscrapers is a specialty practiced by relatively few people.
ae911truth.org
How could they enforce secrecy about this? Same way they could coerce men to fly planes into skyscrapers: Threaten harm to loved ones.
My parents are retired in central FL. There is a retirement village near them that is almost 100% Canadian retirees. It’s universally known in the town that the Canadians are condescending and rude, will almost always cut any line they encounter, and are typically terrible drivers.
Cutting in line in North Florida guts you sent to the back no matter where you come from
Canadians had the world fooled for a long time that they were just nice sweet people. meanwhile they have been pissing in the party punch bowl the whole time.
The difference between a Canadian and a canoe?
Occasionally a canoe will tip.
Gotta change history to fit the narrative
the canada government is turning to communist socialism which people voting for,
they are more worse stupid than liberal Americans,
Pompous, dim, a little smelly, and TERRIBLE TIPPERS. Cheap, cheap, cheap.
Canadians have hated Americans for years. I took the family to Niagara, Canada for a day or two for fun. Crossing the border the female agent asked if I had any firearms in the car(large Suburban). I told her no that I had left them all at home. Holy Cow you would have thought I had called her mother a whore. She began to scream at me that she was going to send me to the secondary for search. I laughed and told the kids we were going over so they could search our car and they thought it was going to be fun. The agent really blew a fuse when she realized we were up for it and the kids were excited ha ha ha I will never forget it she basically told us to get lost. and let us go
“The Canadians will tell you that everyone around the world loves them.”
Quote from Canadian opinion page (Province in BC) from 40’ish years ago;
When American looks in the mirror they see Howdy Dowdy, when the rest of the world looks at America they see Hannibal Lector.
Wait until Canada tries to pay for their socialists society without the US trade deficit on their side.
It always comes down to the Benjamins.
In the case of the Canadians, it’s the “loonie” coin.
Years’ ago I worked as a dockmaster at the village docks on an island in Western Lake Erie, about 35 miles south of Detroit. The Canadian border is just a couple of miles away and we got a fair number of boaters from there who would come for a day or to spend the weekend and have some fun at the various bars and entertainment venues on offer. The Canadians had no money! so they would figure out ways to avoid paying for things. They had to use a credit card to pay for dockage, but tipping the dockmaster for helping them tie up safely and keeping an eye on their boat while they were partying, made them uncomfortable. That’s where the Loonie (about the same size as a US quarter, but not worth as much) came into play. Apparently, before they left Ontario they went to the bank and got a roll of US quarters ($20). They would use this to purchase meals and leave for tips in restaurants, but every so often a Loonie would be switched in place of a quarter;-) This happened to me once when a particularly unpleasant customer decided it was time to return home; he was snarling about something and handed me some change as he stepped onto his boat and started the motor. I had untied his lines and threw them back into the boat. I looked at the change in my hand and immediately pitched several Loonies back into his cockpit. He yelled some insult back at me as he pulled away. I just laughed and did a Sophia Cunningham-style point, maybe with a different digit.
Canadians are woke, weak, liberal and extremely snoody….with their noses up in the air! Just like their counter parts across the pond. We don’t need or want whiney little children who cry and mess their diapers every time they don’t get their way.
Too bad we are so connected to them by land.
But we don’t have a damn thing in common except for that!
I will not visit, I will not tour, I will not give them one red cent from my pocket.
They want to boycott…..that’s fine…..let’s do this and see who comes out on top needing the other to help them!
Canadians seem to be petulant leeches, except for the truckers and farmers!
Terrible tippers? Nuff said as it speaks volumes. The service industry relies on tips.
See my story above;-)
This should reduce any sympathy for Canada by some weak kneed voters.
You shouldn’t expect anything different from a socialist run snake pit, funded by a lefty cess pool of the liberal government.
I have gotten into many comment spats with Canucks lately and they are the most arrogant and detached folks I have ever encountered. Their government has censored the information inflow so bad that they are fools.
Elon and CTH for the Medal of Freedom. Period. You fought the Globalist tyranny and won.
Growing up in Michigan, we would see a lot of Canadians come across to the border to go shopping, we think they are the dumbest humans who ever walked the earth, they are simple, stupid and slow.
President Trump needs to apply reverse tariffs on all Canadian purchases
Terrible tippers too.
Yep, ask any waitress in Florida.
Guess CBC better scrub this article from their website (read lead para.):
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/gander-emergency-management-1.6164287
Ha ha. How ridiculous. After twenty five years what was a terrorist attack that nobody in the world disputed is all of a sudden not a terrorist attack?
Perhaps the Canadians who claim half of the body of water they call Lake Ontario holds pristine water and the side newly renamed Lake America is filled with sludge.
The Canadian State media is being even more childish than Pravda was at its worst. Which says something pretty important to bear in mind.
You will never meet a smugger and more passive-aggressive group of people than the Canadian elite and their leaflib base, so I hope Trump continues to kneecap them with this trade war. The levels of delusion up there are off the charts.
Left-wing/liberal politicians nowadays outright lie to the media and their voters with the most outrageous stories to get the outcome they desire, and they succeed many/most times. Anti-White, anti-American, anti-normal is the flavor of the month. Their followers/supporters are blind/stupid to the truth. Not open/curious to learn another side to ANY story. None. They all want to go along to get along. You will never reach them, ever. Never.
The bullshit stuff has never been higher than it is right now.
I went to Canada for a vacation back in the early 90s. I knew something was going wrong there when someone, learning that we were Americans, unprompted started talking about how awesome their healthcare system was.
That happened to me in the 90s in Jupiter-area East Coast, Florida, too. It was at a charter fishing boat office. I was settling a bill for my young teen-aged son, who had gone out for the day fishing with a friend. Don’t remember how the subject came up, but just as you described, this joker took out his Canadian healthcare card and was waving it in my face, yammering how great their health care was! Really unpleasant. Most of the ones who spend the winter there go for treatments and pay good money for American doctors and hospitals. I know this is true in places like Buffalo NY.
“It is the practice of the CBC to exercise extreme caution before using the words ‘terrorist’ and ‘terrorism'”
These same state-controlled propagandists REPEATEDLY referred to January 6th as an “insurrection.”
Yep, about that… words have meaning! Since when do we need to protect people’s sensitivity for truth and context? Blinkers and pear clutching as history gets rewritten.
It’s been eye-opening reading Canadians online during this dust-up.
I had no idea how low IQ, gullible, and gaslit they really are. They are fighting a trade war with bumper sticker political slogans.
They seem petty and pathetic.
Coincidental with this … the largest wooden. 108 year old “Catholic Church” in New Brunswick was burned down a few days ago as well.
Another Canadian Christian Church turned to ashes by terrorist arsonists.
I’m Canadian, if I were asked if I was American, I would reply, “I wish!!”
I’ve been in Florida this summer and am thoroughly enjoying the blessings of liberty.
I feel like I can breathe here. Going home is looming large, 6 weeks away.
I hope to be back next summer. I must escape that open air insane asylum that is Canada.
My sanity depends on it!
I think there’s a distinction to be made between being Canadian, and being a Canadian who is the equivalent of the smug NPR-listening white collar American liberal who “summers” in East Coast beach enclaves.
Best wishes!
My wife and I had to fly out of Montreal. We were so surprised to see how run down the city was and how unsafe it was. They had electric fence around the hotel parking lot. We use to go there when we were younger,we were so surprised how snotty the people were and how unwelcome they made us feel. Never again, canada is a lost country, we will never return there for any reason.
I’ve been to Winnipeg a few times and LOVED it.
Once upon a time, I spent vacations fishing on Canada’s beautiful lakes. Nice people, beautiful accommodations & a relaxing week happened each time. Those days are long over.
Denial of the factual truth of 9-11 is a bridge too far. It cannot be rectified. Chinadians can go flock themselves. Over & over again. Forever.
The author of the memo iterating journalistic standards for the CBC.. is Arabic origin., ? Perhaps one wonders does this person have a world view … that can’t handle the truth as the push an ideological agenda. Kinder, gentler people of peace, no doubts!
Wait until we no longer allow those territories to refer to themselves as “Canada”.
I wonder why CBC felt the need to issue this directive just now? Everyone has been attributing the 9/11/2001 attacks to terrorists for 25 years, including Canadians. Is Canada suddenly allied with Al-Qaeda?
As someone who has worked in the Permian Basin oil field, I can attest to this attitude of Canadians. Of course, some are the salt of the earth. But many have a superiority complex that is unearned.
Wow. Those cannucks are doing all they can to use up what goodwill I have left for them. To heck with them.
Sounds similar to what would happen if you asked a conservative if they were liberal.
The last time I visited Whistler Canada was for skiing. They were the rudest people. Every Snowboarder would slide in line stop block the line and then undo their bindings. Everyone had to wait for the fool to stop blocking all the skiers.
The wait staff was rude. Never going back.
Every canadian ive met were azzholes
lol – I’d always heard the Canucks were super polite. I only know one Canadian well. Good friend. He spends winters here in Texas. He recently sold his place near Ontario and bought land in Alberta. He says it’s really quite nuts up there. Uber Liberal on the east end of Canada. Thus he’s moving to Alberta.
He is hoping Alberta succeeds from Canada. Kinda how I think Texas may well be better off if we ever suceeded from the USA. If things don’t turn around here in the USA I hope to see us here in Texas as our own country.
We already tip the multilayers of governments in Canada 50+% of the money we earn.
Any chance we get to save a dollar we’ll take it. 🙂
