The Canadian state media outlet, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), responds to the tensions of the Canada-USA relationship by telling all state funded journalists: “Do not refer to the Sept. 11 attacks as terrorist attacks.”
According to the internal communication: “The memo instead described the 9-11 events as hijackings that led to passenger jet crashes in Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and Manhattan. It also said the World Trade Center was destroyed. {citation}
CANADA – The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on Thursday defended an internal memo directing its reporters and editors to refrain from describing the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks as “terrorist attacks,” telling Fox News Digital the guidance reflected its longstanding practice of attributing terms it considers politically and emotionally loaded.
“It is the practice of the CBC to exercise extreme caution before using the words ‘terrorist’ and ‘terrorism,'” CBC Public Affairs Director Kerry Kelly said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “The memo was a reminder of the longstanding practice that favours the use of these terms with attribution in our reporting.”
The memo was authored by Basem Boshra, CBC News’ senior director of journalistic standards and public trust, and surfaced ahead of the attacks’ 25th anniversary. The directive was first reported by Toronto Sun columnist Warren Kinsella, who said it was addressed to CBC News staff. “Do not refer to the Sept. 11 attacks as terrorist attacks,” the memo said.

There is nothing more typically representative of a Canadian than taking the petty approach on any issue.
TRUE STORY: A hotel manager in Europe once asked me, “are you Canadian?” I replied, no, I’m American. We then struck up a conversation. He was a polite fellow. After some small talk he told me he knew I was American, but the general rule of thumb is to always ask if a person is Canadian because if you ask an American if they are Canadian, they will simply reply as I did. However, if you ask a Canadian if they are American the guest will go bananas. So, they just ask everyone if they are Canadian.
The Canadians will tell you that everyone around the world loves them. Maybe that’s true, but everyone I’ve ever talked to said they don’t like Canadians because they’re self-centered and complain about stuff. Terrible tippers too.

Lol, love it. That will really drive them bananas!
This is so funny. Heads are exploding. FAFO Carney and company.
I know for sure Building 7 wasn’t a terrorist attack.
I know our defenses were stood down by Dick Cheney.
“Some people did something” – Ilhan Omar, US citizen, unfortunately
US citizen, for now…
Please don’t tease. I want that woman gone like you wouldn’t believe.
That can be changed if it is proven she committed fraud to obtain US citizenship. I would like to see her frog-marched out of the halls of congress in handcuffs.
The CIA director warned Bush and Condolezza Rice that an attack was in the works. He was ignored.
Yes. And a “plane” hit the Pentagon. Killed a few people in the auditor’s office, and destroyed a lot of records the day after Donald Rumseld held a press conference that there were trillions spent that were unaccounted for.
quick clean-up on that pentagon one
no, luggage, seats, wings or fuselage

“The memo was authored by Basem Boshra, CBC News’ senior director of journalistic standards and public trust” – smh
It’s not a rarity that one of them is riding high in Canadian govt. If their people don’t get loud now, their time will pass.
To quote Greta Thunberg “How dare you”.!
Who knew Basem Boshra, a muslim man of Egyptian heritage, censored Canadian Broadcasting Company from describing the 911 Muslim attackers as terrorists. He is the CBC senior director of journalistic standards and public trust.
Canada don’t want to offend the CCP.
Canadians are deserving of all that’s being stored up for them. Alberta, get out.
“There is nothing more typically representative of a Canadian than taking the petty approach on any issue.”
Truer words never written.
But WHY now?
It is so bizarre, a totally ridiculous “rewriting of history”
so it was just that those two buildings were in the way of the plane crashes?
The dear brave and beautiful people in the plane that crashed in Shanksville, PA who fought to wrest control of the plane or at least keep it from crashing into some other intended place, what has this idiot to say about THAT?
This 9/11 is the 25th anniversary.
Canada aside, keep your head on a swivel.
Thanks for the story, Sundance.
My travels have proven many times that regular folks around the globe can set aside the nonsense.
Granted, I have not traveled the ME.
I have not traveled the ME
At first glance, I took that to be Maine
Probably same in meaning if it were, no?
Middle East
For the obvious.
Yep.
Carney apparently wants to cozy up with al-Qaeda and the rest of the terrorist groups. Since we (according to Carney) are at war, next, I suppose they will they be assisting the Muslim Brotherhood in infiltrating terrorists into the US, eh?
Who says they haven’t been doing that all along?
Now I really do want to say, “Lake America”!
When will they want to take the “Saint” out of the “St. Lawrence Seaway” – or has that already happened?
Watch “The Looming Tower”. Multi part series about the lead up and ends with the attack on 9/11.
Canadian government be damned.
More brilliance from the land of loony (loonie) tunes.
“state funded journalists”
State funded?
Propagandists perhaps
Journalists, heck no
Rules for Radicals. They are dead to me….
They’re right.
They were FBI/CIA Attacks that used Muslim terrorists.
But it was our own Deep State who sent them.
terrorist attack
terrorist attack
terrorist attack
✈️ 🏙️
Wait a sec….
Does that mean the “ignorant/unlikeable American” trope has really been retarded canadians (they want to be petty? Ok. Lowercase c in reference to them from now on) all this time?!
Canada has only given the USA two good things: Ruby Keeler and Deanna Durbin. If we had their .9999 fine minting technique for silver, we’d be sitting pretty.
Add loud obnoxious to the petty terrible tipping Canucks and you land with the Aussies who have every bit, if not more, the anti-American fever. Most recently in SE Asia I was reminded of this. Had a great conversation with a lad from Manchester too. Then he had to ask, so I told him I voted for Trump, three times. He then paid his tab and stormed out. True story.
First order of business is to revoke the visas of all Canadian “journalists “ working in the US.
“ hijackings that led to passenger jet crashes in Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and Manhattan. It also said the World Trade Center was destroyed”
it would just be easier to write terrorist attack.
Hosers!
🪛 ‘em…….
” “Do not refer to the Sept. 11 attacks as terrorist attacks.””
So….leftists in Canada will no longer brag about helping us on 9/11 by accepting flights that were enroute to the US on that day?
