Two significant media reports on the topic of immigration today.
The first is an AP report showing the State Dept is planning to revoke 200,000 visas that were given after illegal entrants claimed asylum status. The second is DHS requiring $100,000 payment for each H1B visa sought by companies to bring in foreign workers.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is preparing to revoke the business and tourism visas of up to 200,000 foreigners who have applied for or are currently seeking asylum status in the United States. If it happens, the move would be the largest single mass revocation of visas in U.S. history and would likely face legal challenges.
Unless challenged or revised, the State Department is expected to announce in the coming weeks the revocation of so-called B1 and B2 visas issued between 2016 and 2026 whose holders have sought asylum or are now seeking asylum, according to State Department documents obtained by The Associated Press and two U.S. officials. The action will be taken in coordination with the Department of Homeland Security.
“We are coordinating with DHS to identify and revoke the nonimmigrant visas of foreigners who have come to the United States claiming to be short-term visitors, but then file for asylum to stay here permanently,” said State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott. (more)
WASHINGTON – The Trump administration has proposed a more than $100,000 fee for H-1B visa applications for skilled foreign workers, a policy that the president introduced last year but had been blocked by a federal judge.

But the Department of Homeland Security revived the proposal on Monday, submitting it online in the Federal Register to be officially published on Tuesday, when a 30-day public-comment period will commence. And the administration is now proposing $103,265 for all new H-1B visa petitions.
The White House declined to comment and referred POLITICO to a statement by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, a DHS department, that said the payments would support “immigration programs that otherwise must be funded by taxpayers,” according to USCIS spokesperson Zach Kahler.
The White House has also said the fee would help curb misuse of the H-1B program, accusing U.S. employers of undercutting American workers with lower-paid foreign labor.
According to Monday’s proposal, the fee would help generate revenue to fund immigration activities carried out by federal agencies including Customs and Border Protection and ICE. DHS said there may be “a reduction in the number of H-1B cap registrations and some employers, including small entities, may file fewer petitions as a result of this proposed rule.” But it concluded that the fee was “appropriate.”
H-1B approvals are capped at 85,000 per year, with 20,000 spots for people with advanced degrees. Nearly 400,000 petitions, most of which were for renewal, were approved in fiscal year 2024. The majority of H-1B workers come from India, with the second-most common birthplace being China. (read more)

This money should go to all Americans that have been inconvenienced and harmed in any way from this unlawful invasion.

Son in law is a graduate of a major university here in Texas. Father of four. His biggest disappointment is the H1-B abuse and the loss of American jobs and culture. The last visit to Sam’s recently, saw the gal dressed in the full black burka. This is central Texas, not Minnesota. Very happy to see these issues being dealt with. I have a strong hunch our administration closely follows & analyses our Professor’s solutions in the battle to save our sovereignty & Christian heritage.
Whenever the wife and I visit the Costco up in south Charlotte, we feel like we’re in a foreign country, a third world foreign country. We try to limit our trips there and stick to mostly shopping at the local Sam’s.
Yep, WD. I always say my monthly visit to Wal-Mart feels like a tour of the United Nations! My neighborhood has been invaded by south-of-the-border Hispanics. Guatemalans across the street cram at least 12 people into a small home built in the 1920s, with just a postage-stamp size backyard. They mow their mini square of lawn with a weed whacker! And use my side of the street for free public parking; street sweeper tried to go by last week, to no avail. Also have a thriving midnight-3 a.m. drug pickup business. House next to me has turned into a flop house for single Hispanic men, with a token female to cook & clean, I presume.
Update: yesterday one car with two occupants was involved in an accident with a semi. This morning I read the news report and it turns out they have 3 to 4 muslim names. So in addition to the illegal Hispanics, we now have a presumably legal Islam presence.

The reason so many Americans object to these asylum claims, and I’m admittedly making an educated assumption, is that they take exception to the idea that it is the responsibility of the U.S., out of the nearly 200 countries in the world, to admit someone because “something bad happened to them in their home country.” Isn’t that what their own governments are for, to protect them against the bad things that happen to people all over the world, even in this country?
And a well-founded fear of persecution for which a person’s own government provides no solution should not automatically mean permanent residence in the most prosperous nation on earth, among the nearly 200 possibilities. If the flight was merely from persecution, then the distribution of asylee countries wouldn’t be so concentrated in the West, with the U.S. a prime target. After all, safety is safety, even if it doesn’t come with a lot of free stuff attached.
And if it turns out that the “persecution” people are fleeing is simply a lack of economic opportunity at home (which is almost always the case), and they are too impatient to apply for entrance through regular channels where they could be denied (which is almost always the case), then that doesn’t automatically create a moral crisis for the denying country. As the fake congresswoman Ilhan Omar might say, “some bad things happened in some country where some people did some things.” That is not a Western problem, and it is not an American problem – it is the human condition, and that will not all be solved on the backs of the long-suffering American taxpayer, the most generous body of people in human history.

Because of the “sponsorship” requirement, an H1-B visa is effectively an “indenture.” Which has been held to be in violation of the 13th Amendment prohibiting “involuntary servitude.”
The visa holder cannot leave their place of employment without risk of deportation. S/He therefore cannot object to any working conditions. So, the people harmed by this program include both the citizens who are denied jobs, but also the visa holders themselves.
I would imagine that there is a lot of human labor trafficking that goes on. Just like the cartels kidnap and threaten people to work for them there are people outside of Central America that are forced to go to the USA, work, and send most of the money to their kidnappers/owners.
Companies have been given an incentive to maintain working conditions and workplace cultures that are unpleasantly nontolerable to Americans. It is past time to take that incentive away. Completely.
