Mrs. Darline Graham, the sister of deceased Senator Lindsey Graham, has won the South Carolina Republican primary and will now head into a runoff against Ralph Norman on August 25th.
Ultimately it is up to the people of South Carolina to decide who they want to represent them in the Senate. However, there is nothing to indicate that Mrs. Graham would be anything different than a southern version of Lisa Murkowski.
Legacy replacement candidates without prior experience are always a shot in the dark. That said, the National Republican Senatorial Committee – the epicenter of creating candidates for election via Battered Conservative Syndrome – is now fully endorsing Graham and will put plenty of Chamber of Commerce money into her two-week campaign.
President Trump has endorsed Darline Graham. President Trump has an emotional attachment to the legacy outcome and is understandably supporting Mrs Graham out of loyalty. CTH tries to stay detached from the emotion of the issue and holds little confidence Graham would strongly support the issues of critical MAGA importance.
SOUTH CAROLINA – The National Republican Senatorial Committee is officially throwing its support behind Sen. Darline Graham ahead of the primary runoff — and it wants other South Carolina Republicans to follow.
On Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, NRSC officials called the primary’s top finishers who didn’t make the runoff in South Carolina’s snap Senate primary — Rep. Russell Fry (R-S.C.), former Gov. Mark Sanford and businessman Mark Lynch — and urged them to endorse Sen. Darline Graham, according to two people with knowledge of the outreach, granted anonymity to discuss private conversations.
On Wednesday morning, NRSC Chair Tim Scott — South Carolina’s senior senator — publicly threw his support behind Graham, who secured a first place finish in Tuesday’s primary with early support from President Donald Trump.
“I voted for Darline in yesterday’s primary, and I’ll vote for her again in the runoff,” Scott said in a post on social media. “I’m proud to endorse Darline Graham for the U.S. Senate, and I encourage South Carolina Republicans across our state to join me in voting for her in the runoff.” (read more)

Darline said she would “follow her brother”. That’s a deal breaker right there. I don’t want another Lady Lindsay as my Senator. She’s a social worker? I don’t want a social worker either. She has not the experience, knowledge, nor wisdom to represent the state in this troubled time. We need a strong Senator that will stand-up to the Deep State!

To be fair, Lindsey Graham was much loved by his constituents… he did a lot for them. I was very surprised at the stories that were reported after his death – all good.
Not really, Lindsey, was not well liked by the people of SC. You may recall he was bood mercilessly in his own home county at a Trump rally in 2023. Our flawed open primary system allowed Democrats to vote for him in the primaries and that sways the primary results and stops better candidates that support the Freedom Caucus. Whoever wine the R primary in SC will win the general 99% of the time, but I believe the Democrat candidate up for election this year is actually pretty strong.
Frankly, I believe Lindsey spent more time in DC, Israel and Ukraine than he did in SC. It’s time to break the Graham/Scott RINO SC machine, and vote Norman.
Norman supported Niki Haley in 2024 not Trump. That also means he’s GOP establishment. He’s in the Romney, Paul Ryan , Jeb Bush clan. He isn’t going to support any MAGA agenda.

SD, the logical extension of what you’re suggesting here is that President Trump is a lame duck. He’ll be around for two more years and we’ll be stuck with Darline Graham for six. Lame duck status is a hard pill to swallow. I believe the protracted war in Iran has done more to hobble the President than any other policy decision he’s made. Talk about sentimentality toward the Grahams. That’s nothing compared to the sentimentality he’s shown toward Bibi, Israel and his son-in-law.

She will say anything to get powerful endorsements and to win the election, just like most other candidates. Once she wins, she is free for six years to renege on everything she promised.
Perhaps the absence of heavyweight GOP endorsers for Norman is based upon his lengthy, enthusiastic support of Nikki Haley, to include his bashing of PDJT during her presidential run in 2023.

To be honest, it seems the forces against MAGA and the key components of its program listed above face opposition so imposing—in government, in academia, in business—that the Republic and MAGA are doomed. A constitutional republic cannot fight these forces effectively. Horrifying to say: but a dictatorship committed to purging these forces or otherwise diciplining them by whatever ruthless means necessary seems to be the alternative capable of achieving the program components but in doing so, the constitutional republic is destroyed in the process. Adams was right: Democracies commit suicide after about 250 years. It seems the USA will not break with that precedent—one way or another.
The USA is not and has never been a democracy, and if you’re attitude is that fatalistic, you’re not with MAGA.
If the new Mrs. Lyndsey wins this my prediction is, meet the new boss even worse than the old boss.
The problem that she is going to have, is that the democrats who typically provided the margin of victory for her brother in SC’s open primary have already voted for the democrat challenger in their primary. This means that they can not vote for Darlene Graham in 2 weeks. The pool of voters in a primary run-off is always reduced to the most politically active, and this time the pool of politically active will skew dramatically toward conservative republicans. Among that group, Darlene Graham’s appeal will be much lower than it is with “registered voters”. I doubt very much that she will get more than 45% of the vote.
That 68% of GOP voters wanted someone other than Graham instills a bit of hope that Norman can beat her.

Voted for Norman even with some of the freedom caucus issues and his last endorsement of Haley. Just went off my gut. I would have voted for Fry if he made it to the runoff. I just can’t vote for graham given her brothers past and too many unknowns. Would be nice if fry and or Sanford endorsed Norman but we shall see.
One could see this coming a mile away. She drops her married name for the Graham name. There is a well oiled machine in that office that runs everything. All she has to do is sign papers and push the Yes Or No button.

These are head scratching statements since you provide no supporting evidence beyond she’s a legacy appointment like Murkowski. Is there something else?
I love people who insert themselves into other state’s elections when they don’t know anything about said state or election. For Scott to say that murkowski worked tirelessly for the people of Alaska is quite a stretch and to ask them to join him in supporting her is a slap in the face to the people of Alaska who’ve been trying to get rid of her ever since her daddy installed her in his office. For whatever good her father did, all of it was erased when he pulled that little stunt and saddled the state with his daughter. I hope South Carolina heeds the warning.

Not being from SC I will just say this: Figure out which candidate has the best chance to win the senatorial election and join forces for that candidate. Neither candidate is optimal, but keeping the majority is absolutely vital.
