This is a very alarming conversation to be taking place in modern America. Alas, all things political have devolved into this current stage where Communism is represented by young voters as the preferred manner of government.
Democrat Socialists of America (DSA) Co-Chair Gustavo Gordillo, having previously outlined that attachment to the Democrat party is only purposeful as a vehicle to gain political power, discusses the end game of DSA for installing communism within the United States.
The DSA platform is disturbing, but generally in alignment with the Bernie Sanders and AOC model.
(1) Eliminate the United States Senate as a legislative body. (2) The House of Representatives then selects the President and Supreme Court justices. (3) All illegal aliens are given citizenship and amnesty. (4) All border enforcement is halted; there are no more USA boundaries. (5) The Dept of War (Defense) is dissolved completely. (6) The government, now controlled by the House of Representatives, determines who can have wealth – and how much. (7) Climate Change is the legislative priority – no more fossil fuel use.

I have friends who have “children” in their 30s and 40s still living at home. None of the parents are ill nor disabled. I have another friend whose perfectly abled brother is nearly 50 and is still living with my friend.

No, they don’t blame their parents. Most of them are happy and comfortable being provided for. They just don’t want to leave and no one is making them do so. Some of them “help out” around the house to make it look like they are contributing. All of them do not pay rent.
One of them works full time but chose a low paying career but he’s happy in his job. The rest may get a job but don’t stay in them because freeloading is easier.
I think that they genuinely do not have a problem sponging off of others.
It depends on family culture and inherited practices. One 90+ year family snapshot:
My father was out of the house and married by 19, and a father before 21. First owned home in his later 20s. Worked very hard in life.
I was out of the house before 20, and owned my first home by 25. I worked pretty hard, too.
My children were out of the house before 20. And they are doing well. They all work hard.
The only difference among the generations have been house sizes. But the dad for every generation was always there if a child ever stumbled.
