South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster will hold a Statehouse press conference to reflect on the life and service of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham and announce an appointment to fill the vacancy created by the senator’s passing. The event is scheduled for 4:00 pm ET with livestream links below.

Apparently, Nancy Mace thinks that is her spot to fill. I think SC can do much better.
Mace is not happening. Most likely is Lindsey’s sister to temporarily fill the seat.
She can only hope to throw her hat in the ring and come in fifth again. No way she’ll get the interim.
McMaster sounds like a sandwich at a southern McDonalds 🙂
1/4 pound Angus beef, 2 strips of bacon, collard greens, and your choice of cheese. The Cajun sauce is awesome.
In the South it’s gotta be pimento cheese.
His SC nickname is Foghorn Leghorn.
“Apparently, Nancy Mace thinks that is her spot to fill.”
You can send Nancy Mace to me for a spot to fill. I am seeking a helpmeet, since mine was promoted to glory in 2009.
I could help Nancy to be a submissive and obedient wife so that she can redeem herself in the public eye. Then once she has done that, she can re-enter the political arena.
Yikes! That was borderline creepy.
She would have to be willing, of course. Re-reading that now, I can see how some people might get the wrong impression because of not enough information.
Or be thinking of something like The Handmaid’s Tale, which would be the furthest thing from my mind.

Scripture instructs men to love their wives many more times than it instructs women to be submissive and obedient to their husbands.
Ephesians
5:22 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
5:24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
5:32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
Nancy & I spent some time together [platonic work environment] during the 2016 Primary season, when she was married to her children’s father.
I have been known to get in trouble texting, too.

Much better.
“Nancy Mace thinks that is her spot to fill. I think SC can do much better.”
Our local homeless shelter could do much better
Don’t worry, we will.
Totally agree, she is a wack job
Send a jet to take her to D.C. to vote on the SAVE Act, while the Turtle is absent, unable to vote “No.”
It ‘s too “Thune” to do that.
I see what you did there.
How long have you had that lisp?
“Wink-wink”
Rename it “The Lindsey Graham Voting Rights Act.”
Brilliant!
“For Lindsey! For Lindsey!”
Senator Lindsey Graham’s temporary replacement is expected to be sworn in on Wednesday, July 13, 2026.https://external-content.duckduckgo.com/ip3/abc7ny.com.ico ABC7 New York

One of the fastest things I’ve seen happen in the Senate, especially of late.
I hope it is Lindsey’s sister. She seems like someone with their head on straight, and that alone may be of more value than all the other crap used to say someone should hold office.
Today is Monday, July 13, 2026
Wednesday, July 15th.
I heard that his sister will fill his spot till a good candidate can be found. TRUMP endorsed this too
She will serve out the rest of Graham’s term.
Whoever wins the midterm election will then fill that seat.
The Democrat candidate for senate, Dr. Annie Andrews, is a pediatrician from Charleston. I’ve seen a couple of her videos; some real TDS. Democrats may be kicking themselves a bit right now. They never made much of an effort against Graham and his opponent is typically weak – like Dr. Andrews.
Interesting – I hadn’t thought about this, but there will be a certain percentage of loyalty votes for whomever ends up winning this upcoming primary. The ‘Do One For the Gipper’ votes.
She’s also for treating transgender children and teens. This won’t fly in SC.
Treating, or creating and enabling?
Pretty much all of the above.
What’s the difference?
Democrat pediatrician is mad because childhood vaccines are being exposed to be poison and useless at best but cutting into the bread and butter of pediatric practices.
That would be consistent with the ongoing clown show.
Changed your name already?
🌞
Well, this should be interesting.
Never a dull moment!
Say what you will about LG – but PDJT lost a friend, an ally and someone he relied upon.
The relationship between President Trump and Lindsey Graham was more complex than a friendship.
“The relationship between President Trump and Lindsey Graham was more complex than a friendship.”
The relationship between President Trump and Lindsey Graham was political through and through.
Remember, with Washington D.C. politics there are never any friends, only acquaintances.
“if you want a friend in DC, get a dog”
or cat/bird…
Links not working
Finally got it
SC Gov names the sister.
Good call.
Agree.
😀
She will vote with Trump 100%, presumably.
Lindsey is smiling!
Sister has been named interim!
OK, that brought a tear to my eye
The question now becomes what do we know about LG’s sister?
Thune is for it……should I be against it judging by the performance of Majority Leader Thune?
Sure sours the deal for me on the face of it.
“Senate Majority Leader John Thune just told me it “makes a lot of sense” for South Carolina Gov. McMaster to appoint Sen. Lindsey Graham’s sister to serve as the state’s interim senator. He added, “It would be a way of extending Lindsey’s legacy here.” Dana Bash CNN
Thune is fine with it because he knows that she is no threat to his grift 🙂
It the seat were not up for election this November, the whole dynamic would have been very different.
But it is….and it makes complete sense to name his sister to fill out the remaining few months
And consider: she will inherit his entire staff — so she will be sell supported, informed, and advised by people who her brother trusted and hired to support him.
Yup. Tells me he’s already bought enough traitors’ votes and doesn’t need Graham’s
Feeling more confused.
Is she a vote for Save Act or no??
“what do we know about LG’s sister?”
She is not a swamp creature (AKA “politician”).
That is good enough for me.
Pray for her, I am sure that she is about to inundated with “helpful advice” from creatures of the swamp.
1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;
2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
Thune is going to act nice right now regardless what he is thinking, so what he told Bash is irrelevant. He probably is aware that Graham’s sister is about as well-informed as anyone of Graham’s agenda and is most likely in full alignment with it, but he is hoping he can control her for the next six months and then she will be gone. But what if he cannot control her? It could get very interesting.
Also, nothing was said about whether she would throw her hat in the ring for the August primary. I assume she will not run and that was understood before McMaster appointed her. But what if?
He either knows her politics or thinks she’s a pushover. Time will tell
Darline, his sister, will fill his spot….tpTrump choice and Tim GumsCott
Maybe, just maybe, this is how we will get the SAVE act passed. As the English poet William Cowper wrote, God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform.
It appears Lindsey was loyal to his loyal staff.
When a politician dies, his staff dies with them, so to speak.
This is time for everyone to regroup, transition, mourn and plan.
Excellent choice but let’s be patient and see how this plays out with the ‘Island Crew”.
There’s plenty of time for hysterics later.
Thank you Darline for taking this on. I’m sure you will be a good caretaker for South Carolina, until they can elect a new senator in November.
I gotta say, this quote confuses me.
Bondi, Kash, Barr, Sessions and others confuse me too.
I won’t criticize McCain because I can’t imagine what brutality he was subjected to or how his life weighs out.
God please place a Godly person in this position who will do right by US.
What quote???
Interesting chatter that he may have died in Kiev.
That “chatter” is all in your head, Jimbo 🙂
Geez….
That’s not what President Trump said.
Interesting chatter that he may have died in Kiev.
Died in Kiev, how so?
In the drone plant strikes?
0.o
That is all Alex Joes horse pooey. Why anyone would listen or platform that dope is beyond me.
Will Linda’s sister pick up where Linda left off and travel to Ukraine and visit the drone factory.
Is it true that the drone factory destroyed? Visit a hole in the ground?
Is the drone factory even in Ukraine? The stories about his visit to it all say it is in a ‘secret location’, but I have a hard time believing the Russians don’t know exactly where it is and would not already have flattened it if it were in the Ukraine. It is probably somewhere in a NATO country in eastern Europe where the Russians do not dare attack.
Pray for the voters of SC that we manage to elect someone who is actually America First to the Senate.

Lindsey Graham’s Conservative Review Liberty Score: F 43%
For comparison:
Mitch McConnell’s Liberty Score: F 44%
Here are the specifics for Graham that led to his score:
https://libertyscore.conservativereview.com/lindsey-graham
From their coverage right now CNN just loves Lindsey and the SC gov is saying all kinds of nice things about him.
Were there any wars that Lindsay Graham didn’t vote for or support during his time in Congress?
No, there are no notable wars or major U.S. military interventions during Lindsay Graham’s time in Congress (House 1995–2003, Senate 2003–2026) that he publicly opposed or voted against.
Graham had a well-established reputation as a foreign policy hawk and interventionist, often aligned with John McCain and others in advocating for robust U.S. military engagement abroad. He consistently supported authorizations, funding, and actions against perceived threats.
Key Examples from His Record:
– Post-9/11 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF, 2001): As a House member, Graham voted in favor of the broad authorization enabling the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan and the wider War on Terror.
– Iraq War (2002–2003): He voted for the Iraq Resolution (Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq) and strongly backed the invasion and subsequent surge.
– Libya (2011): Graham was a vocal supporter of the NATO-led intervention to oust Muammar Gaddafi. He criticized the Obama administration for being too cautious, called for stronger action (including targeting Gaddafi directly), and opposed efforts to defund or limit U.S. involvement.
– Ongoing operations (Syria, ISIS, etc.): He backed continued U.S. presence and actions in Iraq/Syria against ISIS and other groups, and pushed against full withdrawals.
– Other stances: Graham advocated for potential strikes on Iran, supported aid and involvement in Ukraine, and generally opposed limits on presidential military authority (e.g., criticizing the War Powers Resolution as unconstitutional).
Searches of his voting record, statements, and biographies turn up no instances of him voting against or meaningfully opposing major U.S.-led military campaigns or authorizations during his tenure. He occasionally critiqued execution or timelines (e.g., withdrawals from Afghanistan under Biden, which he strongly opposed), but not the underlying decisions to engage.
This aligns with his long-standing advocacy for a strong national defense and proactive U.S. role overseas. Comprehensive reviews (e.g., Wikipedia summaries, congressional records) reinforce this pattern without counterexamples.
Mostly Not a conservative
It is a moot point now.
.
I expected to see more whining about the appointment. So many get up in the morning expected to have a call from Trump to get their opinion.
“I expected to see more whining about the appointment.”
Give it some time. Geesh – it has only been about an hour. I am sure you will be able to get your fill soon.
Darline has already committed to serving only the remainder of Lindsey Graham’s term. She isn’t part of the good ol’ boys club, isn’t seeking to build a political career, and would simply honor the legacy of her brother and of the man the people of South Carolina elected.
Indeed.
She will inherit her brother’s entire Senate staff, and they will quickly bring her up to speed and help her do the job.
And her biggest supporter will be President Trump himself. He will be her ‘life line’.
This is all politics so of course we’re not going to get a perfect replacement, I suppose his sister is good enough until we figure it all out. Who knows what she is all about.
I will say, having a business local, that the governor of South Carolina is a great man. He has done us right over and over and over again. He is 10 times the man the governor of NC is.
For example, when Covid went down McMaster shut down a few businesses for a couple weeks till they figured out what was up. He specifically shut down hair salons, massage parlors, used clothing stores, etc… basically where the supposed ‘experts’ were saying the thing could be transmitted. He left every other business open. In a couple weeks, he opened the others too.
In NC, they shut down everything except Wal Mart and fought like hell to leave them closed for two years. Living near the border it was just night and day obvious. When McMaster opened everything back up he specifically said he wanted to be one of the first, so it would jump start the economy. He’s very pragmatic, plain spoken, and all of his decisions make sense.
He recently cut taxes (we have one of the highest income taxes!) and is trying to basically eliminate the income tax eventually. They’re looking for common sense ways to do that. I couldn’t be happier with him, can’t imagine having a better governor.
