Consider how this worked in reality. Is it plausible her donors and lobbyists were unaware of her condition for months? Is it plausible the other members of Congress and Texas Republicans did not know this? Is it plausible members of the media did not, at minimum, notice her prolonged absence?
Yet not one person said a word, and her constituents didn’t bother to ask. The system is able to shield these people because the average citizen has checked out.

I had a massive PE (at the door of a clinic attached to a hospital, which is the only reason I survived). The only symptoms I felt were feeling like I couldn’t catch my breath, feeling very faint, vision darkening, then the clinic staff had me on O2 and I revived. Blood O2 was 76% and dropping like a rock before the O2.
Dr thought he would have to LifeFlight me to the city (it was a rural hospital) but I stabilized enough. I went home a week later on O2. Cause was large blood clot at top of R femoral vein breaking free, clot was due to inflammation from heavy-duty chemo.
I was on Elequis for a year and a half before weaning myself off of it because I felt the inflammation was gone. No problems since.
At least it would have been painless, I never felt pain.
And I’ve never had the clot shot. This was the same year as covid, but my immune system was too down to be challenged – and then I figured it out and refused it.

Something a simple a traveling with the flu can trigger a heart attack. The inflammation can cause internal plaque to break off and if it heads to your heart, it can be the widow maker. Happen to a good friend, much younger than Lindsey.

A ‘widow-maker’ took a friend of mine and he was barely 50 years old.

Lindsay Graham controlled the money that runs the republican political machine in SC. He just won his primary in SC. His current term expires in January. Now the republicans will have to hold a special election to pick a successor to run against the democrat nominee. For the first time in decades, SC has a chance to elect a conservative US senator. I’ll be curious to see who Henry McMaster picks as an interim senator, but it will probably be Pam Everett.

I think the aftermath of this will be a learning experience for some people. For years I have seen republicans in particular decry that if we could only get (random politician A) out of office, things would be better. Sort of mixed feelings on this one. While he was a warmonger for some reason President Trump always endorsed him. Not a know a lot about his voting in the senate, he did seem for the most part to stand with President Trump.

I am 71 as well and just went to my PCP for the annual Medicare physical. I had a low dose CT scan of my lungs a few months ago that showed coronary artery calcification, so I asked him if that is something I need to worry/do something about. He said a majority of men my age has that and we need to do something about my LDL. He also said that if plaque wants to break free and cause a heart attack, there is really nothing that can be done to prevent that.
