Vice President JD Vance delivers an update today (Mon) from Switzerland, following ceasefire negotiations with Iran aimed at fully reopening the Strait of Hormuz and reducing fighting between Israel and the Iranian-backed militia group Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The talks, mediated by Qatar and Pakistan, began Sunday and stretched into the early hours of Monday. While the high-level discussions have concluded, technical negotiations are expected to continue in Switzerland this week. Vance said the talks did not produce a final peace agreement but did establish diplomatic, deconfliction, security and nuclear-monitoring frameworks needed to pursue a broader and more permanent regional settlement. As VP Vance departs Switzerland, he also gave some brief remarks to the traveling press pool (below).

Surly, surly this Administration fully knows the Iranian ghouls are just that and every word from their collective mouth is a lie.
Of course they know that. President Trump and VP Vance have been crystal clear on that point from the beginning.
The MOU is not a binding contract. It is simply a framework for future negotiations to proceed.
As the negotiations proceed, President Trump and his team will be continuously watching the Iranians and the ACTIONS that they take. Iran’s actions will inevitably result in actions from our President-both good and bad.
Iran gets nothing from the United States until and unless their actions are within the boundaries of the MOU.
I really don’t understand all of the agonizing and doomscrolling from so many. President Trump is the greatest deal maker EVER to be President. Overall, he is our greatest president since Washington.
He’s got this.
Go Vance Go !!!!!!
“Such a deal we’ve made!” Where have I heard this before? All smiles, working it out, problems ahead but a deal can be made.
Who is playing who’s game? Oh, the Big Guy makes threats to bomb them into the stone age…heard that before too!
Perhaps if we had only continued our military efforts for another few weeks (note the sadness of General Keane’s presentations) the Iranians might not be playing the games they are now playing. Yet, I am not to be discouraged, should keep up the faith, it will all be worked out, it’s just a matter of time .
“Mommy will come, Mommy will come!” Perhaps it should have been “Wait till your Father gets home!” Why do I feel like I am being played? I know, “if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor” comes roaring back into my mind…
I don’t want to be “living on a prayer” much longer.

Be sure to get every last one.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
That you Lindsey Graham?
more like Honorable Cotton….
I have a feeling this is to open the straight, get oil flowing, and boost the economy in time for the midterms. This gives Iran more leverage.
Hopefully this works, and then we eliminate those mullahs after the election when they’re relaxed
There will be no real peace land trust until they are eliminated
From what I have gathered the Strait is open and tankers are moving.
I would say that Iran lost significant leverage with the Strait of Hormuz open.
They are making quite a bit of money every day with the strait open. We are the ones who have lost our leverage.
Uh, nope. Oman and United Arab Emirates are oil producers and THEIR oil is flowing.
The Iranian tanker/oil depot/whatever you wanna call it — not so much.
Cry Harder
The Muslim Civilization is trying to take over the world just like they always have – this is common knowledge – simple as that!
We in America (safely in the Christian Western Hemisphere) have forgotten that the biggest fight on the planet has always been between Christianity and Islam. Communists are importing Civil War!
Why? because the fools on the Left are spoiled rotten jerkoffs – they think they want to ruin the country just to spite us – all you have to do to ruin a country is start introducing other Civilizations into it. It’s guaranteed to start fracturing along those civilizational lines!
😅 Perfect! The solution to prevent Sexual Harassment by Migrants of the Religion of Peace! 😃

I know, the Left has lost its mind. Look at the vandalizing taking place on the Mall. They’re trying to ruin everything President Trump has fixed, in their own City?
Spoiled rotten jealous little brats who have to wreck everything because they’re too sorry and stupid to build anything!
100%
As long as Hezbollah is allowed to exist and reside in Lebanon, there will always be battles between them and Israel. What is the plan for Hezbollah in the long-term? They are nothing but a terrorist organization. They don’t know anything else.
The biggest mistake was allowing Lebanon into the MOU and ultimate deal. Whoever suggested that should be fired immediately. If it was Vance, then he should forget about 2028.
Hezbollah is an Israel problem. I agree it should be separated from any deal because it’s not our fight.
Hezbollah gets its funding from Iran
……..
Go Vance Go !!!!!!
Prayers and GODSPEED to our negotiating team and leaders! 🙂
Waste of our time and already Iran is selling oil.
Nothing good will come of this talk.
Prove to us Iran is “selling oil.”
Oman is.
United Arab Emirates is.
Here’s what I don’t like about what’s going on.
We seem to be treating this as if we had NOT just pounded them into the ground. We should be imposing terms on Iran — not “negotiating” with these 11th century fanatics.
Today is a great example: Vance goes on and on about how GREAT it is that Iran has “said” that they will “allow” IEAA inspectors into Iran to check on their nuke ambitions. Huh? Why are WE just TELLING Iran that WE will be doing the inspecting, and the IEAA can accompany us to ensure that WE are not doing something we shouldn’t be doing??
If I had any confidence that if, at the end of the 60 days and we have NOT gotten Iran to agree to our demands, we would immediately start destroying stuff again, then maybe I would relax a bit. BUT — you know and I know that Iran is doing what they always do — delay, distract, disassemble, divert — and at the end of the 60 days we will fold like the French Army.
Sigh…..
Oh — and we are letting Iran sell oil now as well? What, EXACTLY, are we getting for this concession?
Oh my goodness! The howling from the Eyores is making me crazy! Too many negative waves!
As Donald Sutherland said in the movie ‘Kelly’s Heroes’-
“Have a little faith baby.”
Bruce, I was writing my post below when yours posted and only now read it. Cool we both used lines from the same movie.
Trump is dismantling a worldwide system that has been developed for decades. Just this weekend Starmer resigns and Columbia gets a favorable president.
Patience.
Trump is solving problems at light speed. He is not going to obtain a perfect deal often, but all deals will be major improvement. No one else is going to solve these problems. The world has been stumped on Iran for 40 years!
USMCA was not great, but better than NAFTA and now it provides the opportunity for NO deal for Canada. Awesome.
Lots of characters, problems and opportunities. Trump is not resting. Stay calm.
Who would have imagined in 2023 that the Arab world would unite against Iran. I fully expect any deal will place partial responsibility of Iran’s behavior on its Arab neighbors. They will be stewards.
Crapgame from Kelly’s Heroes, “A DEAL, deal! Maybe he’s a Republican. You know, “Business is business.””
Kelly’s Heroes was a great movie!
Yes indeed, back when one could go to the movies and escape from everyday life.
” the Iranians have agreed to invite IAEA inspectors back into their country”
Exactly what we had before Trump abandoned the JCPOA in 2018.
What never seems to get mentioned is that by all independent accounts, Iran was not violating the JCPOA. They had enriched to 3.5% in 2006 and were still at that level in 2018. They only began enriching uranium beyond the 3.67 civilian use limit after President Trump withdrew from the agreement. They began enriching in retaliation and for lack of promised sanctions relief. By 2019 the had enriched to 4.5% and in early 2021 to 20%. By the end of 2021 they were at 60%.
Trump scrapped the JCPOA because of things like 15 year sunset provisions and lack of addressing their ballistic missile program and other ‘security and structural’ flaws. President Trump did not seek to renegotiate or address those perceived flaws, but rather unilaterally withdrew.
And here we are today trying to get back to where we started
Thank you VP JD Vance…. to your resistance against warmongers……
Not sure if that light in the distance is flashing the end or square one.
This isn’t going to work out, is it.
it is truly sickening to listen to this.
