At 9:30am London time, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer made it official, he resigned. {Politico – Details}
“The question being asked now is not who was best placed to change the Labour Party, to take us into power and to begin the vital work of improving lives for millions of people. Those questions have been answered. The question my party is asking now is whether I am best placed to lead us into the next general election. I have heard the answer of my parliamentary party to that question, and I accept that answer with good grace.”
Starmer says he will remain caretaker prime minister until his Labour Party chooses a new leader — with expectations growing that it will be former Greater Manchester Mayor and newest Member of Parliament, Andy Burnham.
(Via Daily Mail) […] An EU-UK summit on July 22 has been postponed after Sir Keir’s announcement of his resignation, despite the date only having been confirmed last week. A Government spokesperson said it would now be held ‘at the earliest opportunity’;
A YouGov poll has found that the public thought Sir Keir was right to resign by a margin of 62 per cent to 19 per cent, with another 19 per cent undecided;
Sir Keir’s allies have refused to rule out him quitting as an MP, raising the prospect of a tricky by-election fight in his constituency with the Greens;
Labour MPs and Nigel Farage have been calling for a general election to be held after the change in PM;
Sir Keir’s successor will be Britain’s seventh premier in a decade. (more)

The torture this man and his party have forced on Britain, and, he gets to just walk away.
That is why the next guy will be even worse.
We should take the arms we send to Israel and give them to the British people.
They would appreciate it more.
He forgot to thank his cocaine buddies, Zelensky and Macron, for all the good times they had on the people’s dime.
Oh, Great!!! Replace an 11 year inept parliamentarian (and lightweight prosecutor of rape gang members) with a 0 year novice ex-mayor. What are these people smoking?
Or, is Andy Burnham going to have a corps of crazed advisers around to pull his strings….sort of like a sentient Joe Biden character?
From one jack ass to another.
The merry go round spins and spins.
The people see it. The light bulb is finally going off.
I find it kind of strange that the British and Canadians do not elect their Prime Minister and head of state. What would it take to change their system to require popular election by the citizenry?
Strange indeed.
I found it amusing, and totally his style, for President Trump to announce the PM’s resignation a day earlier. 🇺🇸🤴🇺🇸
That is classic Trump indeed.
And they identify as a democracy .. ranked choice is not democracy
Sure it is. 51% of the people on the dole are getting what they want. And, as British Christians are replaced by 3rd World Islamists… well, you do the math.
Anyone these days can self-identify as something that they are not it seems. Identifying as a democracy…
It’s what 4 x of the 5-Eyes countries do!
Think about that!
(US has a President!)
That’s because the US is the only one to fight for and win freedom from the monarchy. 250yrs baby!
In the Westminster System (which also applies to Australia, NZ and other Commonwealth countries), the Parliament is supreme.
People elect local representatives, who then go on to elect a Prime Minister, who then selects his ministers for various portfolios. The King must sign off on it.
It’s not that strange considering in the American system, the President isn’t actually ‘elected’ until the electoral college votes him in. Recall the evil D’s pressuring college electors in 2016 to change their intended vote from DJT to evil Killary.
Their system is like ours in the 2020 election. Might be our system again.
A replay of 1776 .
God Bless America 🇺🇸
A goodbye song…
Funniest thing I’ve seen in a long, long time. Thanks 😂
Goodbye, clown.
Sir Slimy Starmer, how can we even make a start to miss you if you won’t go away?
So the UK has jumped from the fire into the fire? I am old enough to remember that the same people who are salivating over Burham were salivating of heir keir just two short years ago.
I give them about six months for the bloom to rub off this latest ruse…
Not hugs and kisses for Zelensky any more!
ROFL
They are saying Andy Burnham is left of Starmer.
This doesn’t surprise me in the least. He was not voted in by the citizenry upon whom the disastrous policies inflict much suffering.
“improving lives for millions of people” come Two Tier, you only have a few friends.
In the Westminster system, almost all ousted PM’s also quit as MP’s. They can’t hack being mere boring back-benchers, plus they get to collect outsized pensions for life. This evil sob will also be double dipping with his pension from when he was a Crown Prosecutor (at which tenure he let 10’s of 1,000’s of rapists off with “sternly worded letters”
Good riddance. Crap Weasel
Starmer isn’t the problem. The Labour Party is the problem. Expect no improvements.
Is that the British Public, singing “Song of Joy” in the background?
“Sir Keir’s successor will be Britain’s seventh premier in a decade.” The phrase “banana republic” comes to mind …
will Andy Burnham be any better? Could he be worse?
I ask this after the debacle in Chicago
the beetle juice female mayor was so horrible
and then we got Brandon who is even worse!
btw, the rumor online is that Keir might also be
caught up in the Epstein files
is it true that new releases will come in July?
None of them talk about ‘what’s best for the country’, it is always what is best for the party.
People need to really wake up.
