Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche held a press conference earlier today to outline a series of arrests during ongoing investigations to find thousands of missing unaccompanied alien children. [DOJ Press Release Here]
So far DHS agencies have found approximately 150,000 missing children with around 300,000 still unaccounted for as search and investigative efforts continue. The statistics within the press conference are alarming. WATCH:
DOJ – Yesterday in Cleveland, Ohio, indictments were returned charging three illegal aliens from Guatemala for international smuggling of unaccompanied alien children (UAC) and defrauding the government, while another illegal alien was sentenced to prison for smuggling a UAC to the United States in 2023 and then fraudulently obtaining custody of the child who he then sexually abused.
The indictments charge Maritza Azucena Cahuec Coc, 38, and her brother Carlos Agustin Cahuec Coc, 33, both illegal aliens from Guatemala, for their roles in an international alien smuggling conspiracy, spanning from approximately December 2020 to October 2023, that included submitting multiple fraudulent sponsorship applications to the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) to gain custody of UACs. Gladys Marina Caal Chen, 20, an illegal alien from Guatemala, who, herself, was fraudulently sponsored as a UAC, is charged with making false statements to the government in connection with a UAC sponsorship application.
Juan Tiul Xi, 27, from Guatemala, pleaded guilty for helping smuggle a child into the United States and submitting a fraudulent sponsorship application, falsely representing that he was the child’s brother. After gaining custody, Xi sexually abused the child. For that, he was convicted of sexual battery of a child in state court and sentenced to eight years in prison. Additionally, Xi was sentenced to 26 months in federal prison to be served consecutive to the eight year state prison sentence.
“For too many years, under the prior administration, unaccompanied children were smuggled to the United States and then taken in by a mismanaged government program guided by reckless policy direction,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “Instead of protecting children, these defendants and others allegedly took advantage of the program and used it to entice the illegal smuggling of unaccompanied children to the United States and, as the sentence of Tiul Xi shows, leave them vulnerable to sexual assault, trafficking, and other exploitation.” (read more)

It makes you wonder WHY the parents of these children would allow their kids to be sent to a foreign land with STRANGERS! I have read stories in the past that sometimes the kids are sold, sometimes the parents are convinced that the child would have a better life…. but still! Would you let your child travel to a foreign country with a stranger?

We did ministry in Baja Mexico for many years and it was not uncommon for a mother to “sell” her 13 year old daughter in marriage to an older man. Quite often, the women were farm workers (think strawberries and tomatoes) who had no education and who lived in the labor camps, which were awful. They generally had a baby every year or so (often raped by the owner of the ranch or the other “bosses”) and thus “selling” off the older ones was a way to be able to feed the younger ones!
In many cases, it had been done to them as well and they didn’t see anything wrong with the practice – it was just life as they knew it! I am absolutely NOT condoning it, and the organizations that we worked with were trying to change the culture, but I am simply explaining that it DOES happen, and probably far more often than many suburban middle class Americans realize!

It should have been easily foreseeable that the outlined abuses were going to happen and yet apparently no one running that program did anything but just stand aside and allow all of it to go on.

We had yearly refresher courses which reminded us to never ever under any circumstances were we to release unaccompanied minors to anybody that couldn’t prove guardianship.
Biden was installed. All those protocols went by the wayside.
Kids were then released en-masse to unvetted “guardians.”
Three decades of protocol evaporated.
I personally did not witness this myself as I was not then assigned to the Southern border, but I knew them that were.
I knew big strong men were temporarily detailed to watch over these little guys.
I was told that 100% of all the girls were molested in some way by their Mexican Cartel handlers during the process and many of the boys as well.
The men assigned to these details would return heartbroken.
This was no secret. The political party that pretends to care the most for children knew what was going on and they didn’t care.

I recall back in 2015 or so that the Obama administration started bringing in UACs into the US. In fact, it was you, Sundance, who wrote a piece about govt bids being put out for contract to transport 60k of them etc. etc. once they arrived here. The bids were put out in January and the UACs began arriving in June. Those govt. contracts no longer are available online but I’m sure you have it all archived Sundance.
Continuing from my previous comment. In retrospect, having seen the build up of supplies for the illegal immigrant invasion back in 2015 I don’t think the deep state imagined that Trump was going to win.
