Today, Texas voters are choosing party nominees in runoff elections for several key statewide, congressional and local races for contests where no candidate won a majority in the March primary.
This runoff puts incumbent Senator John Cornyn against challenger AG Ken Paxton for the Texas Senate Republican race. President Trump has endorsed the challenger against Cornyn, and the old guard in the Senate are furious.
UPDATE: The results are not yet finalized, but it’s not even remotely close. Senator John Cornyn has lost his seat. Texas AG Ken Paxton has crushed Cornyn in a massive victory.

Texas has open primaries. The Dems don’t stand a chance, so they all vote for the RINO in the primary.
In a runoff, if a Democrat voted in the Democrat primary, they cannot now vote in the Republican runoff.
My guess is Democrats. The ones who declined to vote in the D primary, knowing that the D nominee will not win in the general, but were intent on defeating Paxton. My understanding is that the Ds loved Cornyn.
Cornyn is winning places like Austin and Dallas. That tells you all you need to know. Just like the Dems, the RINOs are mainly in the big cities.
