Earlier today the New York Post (Murdoch Inc.) was reporting a cabinet meeting was scheduled to take place tomorrow at Camp David, in Maryland. The unusual location for this meeting stemmed from information the Post obtained via an anonymous “White House official.”
For some reason, every media report felt it was important to emphasize that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard would be in attendance at the cabinet meeting. Gabbard’s departure is openly well known and not expected until June 30th, but for some reason the DC media stenographers were quite interested in whether DNI Gabbard would be in attendance.
After about 8 hours, President Trump announced the cabinet meeting was moved back to Washington DC, due to an inclement weather forecast.

In this shifted role, State Department Counselor Michael Needham, a longtime confidant and aide to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, will now be the assistant to President Trump and deputy national security adviser.
Mike Needham will serve along with Rubio, who, in addition to being Secretary of State is also President Trump’s National Security Advisor. The National Security Advisor runs the White House National Security Council.
You may note, the Director of National Intelligence (DNI), that would be Tulsi Gabbard, serves as the head of the U.S. Intelligence Community and also acts as the principal advisor to: the President, the National Security Council, and the Homeland Security Council, for all intelligence matters related to national security.
Deputy National Security Advisor Mike Needham will now assist in running the National Security Council while Marco Rubio remains in his dual role as National Security Advisor and Secretary of State. Needham was chief of staff to Rubio in the U.S. Senate during Rubio’s tenure as Vice-Chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) and a Gang of Eight member.
I don’t know how to read this. Maybe, Rubio and staff were waiting to be freed.

I am in the same boat. Meaning I don’t know if the change was due to political strategy, but then again he is not cutting the legs out from under PT either. Currently Rubio is on my list for 2028 contenders (could change). I just don’t see any other possible candidates that are as capable.
Vance is quick with words and says the right things but is he a true leader or is he too involved with the tech group that I don’t want anywhere near the WH. Anxious to see how thorough he is heading the Fraud task force or will he just do the low hanging fruit to satisfy the base.
Vance has a young family. It is child abuse to raise a family in the WH. Call CPS. It is Rubio’s time. And Vance’s time to be Ambassador to India.

For example, Merrick Garland and the Biden DOJ coordinated with the National Archives over the illegal Mar a Lago raid yet despite Rubio being Acting Archivist of the United States until February 5, 2026, none of the National Archives employees who played an active role in the Mar a Lago raid have been fired.
Not only that but National Archives employees have been caught committing perjury in order to protect Biden and Obama due to their false congressional testimonies where they claimed both Biden and Obama successfully handed over all of their administrations’ documents to the National Archives and Records Administration, only for Biden to be caught hiding classified documents from both the Obama administration and his Senate career, in his garages, houses, office rooms, etc.
If Rubio was truly MAGA, he would have immediately cleaned house at the National Archives while he was Acting Archivist of the United States. And since Rubio is likely not MAGA, we still have deep state employees working at the National Archives.
Marco Rubio has no excuse for his apathy or laziness for letting National Archives employees get away with helping Merrick Garland’s illegal Mar a Lago raid. Even someone like Tulsi Gabbard managed to use her position as Director of National Intelligence to fire around 100 anti-Trump NSA employees.

I have no qualms with Marco Rubio’s performance thus far in the Trump administration, but history has proven that no one leaves the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence with their soul intact.
