In 2017 the DOJ and IRS settled a class action lawsuit filed by Tea Party groups for unlawful targeting by Lois Learner and the Cincinnati office of the IRS. The DOJ paid over 400 lawsuit participants dating back to 2013 and the IRS apologized for the unlawful targeting based on political affiliation. {citation}
Between 2018 and 2020 former IRS contractor Charles Edward Littlejohn — who worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, a defense and national security tech firm — leaked President Trump’s tax returns to two news outlets. In 2024, Littlejohn was sentenced to five years in prison after pleading guilty. {citation}
President Trump filed a lawsuit against the IRS for $10 billion in compensation following the intentional IRS leaking of his tax returns. Today, the IRS and DOJ settled with President Trump by establishing a $1.7 billion fund for victims of IRS targeting.
The Associated Press, mainstream media and leftist in congress are framing the settlement announcement as President Trump paying his allies and MAGA supporters. However, the fund is set up to pay all victims of IRS targeting regardless of political affiliation.
If the media and democrats are correct that only President Trump supporters will benefit from the $1.7 billion IRS victim compensation fund, then by direct implication the media are asserting that only President Trump supporters were targeted by the IRS.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration on Monday announced the creation a $1.7 billion fund to compensate allies of the Republican president who believe they were mistreated by the Biden administration Justice Department.
The “Anti-Weaponization Fund” was announced by the Justice Department as part of a deal to resolve President Donald Trump’s lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service over the leak of his tax returns.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in announcing the fund in a statement that it was “a lawful process for victims of lawfare and weaponization to be heard and seek redress.”
Democrats and government watchdogs immediately pledged to fight what they called a “corrupt” and unprecedented resolution, warning that the arrangement would unjustly enrich people close to the president with taxpayer dollars and open the door to meritless claims of political persecution. (read more)
How can the claims be “meritless” when the IRS contractor pleaded guilty in 2024 to leaking Trump’s tax returns and was sentenced to five years in prison?

The fun part is that the fund is 1.776 billion.
The ugly part is that the victims of Dem Lawfare targeting using the IRS are being portrayed as properly convicted criminals.
Just like the J6 tourists.
We know who the real criminals are!
Million
PDJT always outthinks the Dimms. Always. Hahahaha.
Its one of the reasons they hate him so – much of it due to envy.
Yes! He did it again!
When I reflect on how President Trump does this, what is surprising is that his solutions are practical, down to earth, and straightforward. He is a genius, but anyone using common sense can follow his thinking.
As a society we have become way too convoluted for our own good. IMO that’s because all the liars (politicians and media) try to make everything as complicated as possible so as to get away with the lies. And it worked. Up until President Trump came along.
Attorneys!!
I second that opinion. The common thread of modern era America is 50 years escalating law school graduates. Who then made society far worse with legal systems and lawfare
Yes, here is how it works. 1. Top law students get hired at large firms to do the heavy lifting. 2. Second tier students that are socially connected bring in the large account business for 1. to work on. 3. Third rate and below students write wills and handle drunk driving tickets. They have to join a party to get any business at all. Some are then run for office and become “leaders”. They are also the sexual harassers and deviants as they have not been laid except in a street corner transaction.
Nice
I have a longtime theory… the DOJ is made up of lots of folks who failed the bar exam.
So they make them an offer they can’t refuse, & in return they’ll get a passing score (😉😉).
I can’t prove it… but what better way is there to create an army of legal minions who’ll do whatever they’re told to by their lawfare superiors w/o question? 😂
I guess that is a better choice than economics or art history.
At least economics and history have little ability to directly destroy. The legal system and its minions systematically destroy. If I could snap my fingers and all legal knowledge and information outside the Constitution and Bible would vanish, I would do so immediately. When someone tells me their kin is studying law I tell them I’m sorry to hear that.
Absolutely nothing wrong with History.
right on!
But the law schools are all totally dedicated to equal justice under the law, rational discussion of all solid evidence, fairness, honesty, upholding the great traditions of the Anglo-Saxon Common Law, respecting the heritage of The Magna Carta, appreciating the advances of our American system standing on the shoulders of the giants of the Old World, letting the best and brightest candidates enter the top law schools without qoutas or set-asides …

It’s because he thinks like a businessman (results oriented) and not like a politician (process oriented).
Thats because they are Dim whited
Lois was a slow Lerner.
But the targeting was all Jack Smith’s wicked idea, with help from John McCain.
Pure UNIPARTY, just like the Thune/Schumer Occupation Government, hell-bent on destroying America.
Hey Gip…Did you just say Lois was a slow Lerner?
🙂 🙂 🙂
Lois should stay in her Lane, the slow one.
Until she gets to her office in the newsroom of The Daily Planet.
Based on her actions, it’s safe to say her office is on Another Planet.
The bicycle lane!
Slow Learer…😎
heh–but you’re a fast one!
Freakish for me, Gipper, as it is Monday in every way 😉
Yes–quickly!
ps; It always reminds me of this Mark Steyn post:
At that housewarming party in New York at the Navarro Hotel, the Loessers introduced “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” to their friends. As Lynn Loesser recalled:
Well, the room just fell apart. I don’t think either of us realized the impact of what we’d sung. We had to do it over and over again and we became instant parlor room stars. We got invited to all the best parties for years on the basis of ‘Baby’. It was our ticket to caviar and truffles. Parties were built around our being the closing act.
As Richard Adler, Frank Loesser’s protégé, once told me, Lynn Loesser was a domineering woman. She was known around town, somewhat inevitably, as “the evil of the two Loessers”, a gag that’s stuck to her beyond the grave. “
Ha!!!!
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, has the knowledge of those days in theatre and music, the names, and the stories like Mark. And brother, can he write!
In my book he is a genius 😂
A slow Learer!
slow learer
John “frickin'” McCain was buried face down so the first thing he sees in HELL (where he belongs!!!) is SATAN welcoming him to eternal torture and pain, now waiting for his good friend Missy Lindsey Graham to join him.
Lindsey will be buried with his butt sticking out of the ground so his pals have a place to park their Bikes
Miss Lindsey, who was joined to Papa John at the hip, has deferred on face down and instead chosen a cemetary in Kiev where she grafted all those millions.
It’s our tax dollars paying the settlement. I like those tax dollars going to victims of the targeting, but what I want is punishment of the PEOPLE who do these things. If the punishment by people doing bad actions is other people’s tax dollars paying settlements, they won’t have an incentive to stop. I want their jobs, their money (even if it’s via legal costs), a blacklisting from any future government employment, a destruction of reputation in the press, and time in prison. Enough of this.
100%^^
Yes. This protected gov’t class situation is untenable.
The dam needs to break. Post-conviction heads on pikes would be the preferable outcome.
Exactly! Elected officials directing unelected bureaucrat to target President Trump supporters or Tea Party individuals should also be charged they’re the real culprits!!!
How about Tea Party turncoats?
Wouldn’t break my heart to see Paul Ryan appear on a court docket.
Maybe some of the pay out could be used for a whole. bunch. of civil suits.
Find out who the instigators were, the ringleaders, the law fare capos. And
bankrupt them. They were all too eager to do it to the other side. It’s our turn.
And, be sure that none of the suits are filed anywhere near DC, NY, MD, GA,
AZ, California, Oregon, Washington, or Illinois. I’d say a fightin’ chance might exist
in 30+ flyover states.
Military tribunals in Club Gitmo might be nice.
Drawn and quartered first so they understand what total pain is.
Agree with you. But “wait and see what happens.” The punishment might be coming.
I hate that thousands of people had their lives destroyed and that at this point money can’t fix how they have been damaged. But it is better than no money. Think of the extended suffering that was caused by people losing jobs and savings. Lots of people have gone without what they needed. This money can help fix some of that.
I concur. First the settlements, establishing the proven illegality of their actions, second, most involved are now being investigated while this is happening, and I expect indictments and arrests to begin prior to the midterms and continuing thru the end of next year. Force them all into bankruptcy, freeze/seize all known assets as part and parcel to the indictments issued and subsequent arrests, jail as many as possible with absurd/no bails due to flight risks, force them them into long term, cell time in the worst prison conditions as possible with little to no outside contact available (such as Club Gitmo in sunny Cuba) awaiting their “initial hearings”, have few to none pretrial settlements or no contest agreements, make them front page news everyday they suffer, then have their guilty verdicts listed every day. If appealed, continue their stays incarcerated until HELL freezes over or they suffer fatal health issues. Nothing should be viewed as too harsh treatment for any of these despicable individuals who forced so many into the harshest periods of their lives.
I didn’t even know they convicted the IRS agent that leaked Trump’s tax returns. Did any news station cover it? Next up, almost all news stations need to be bankrupted.
I certainly did not know this until today. I wonder if he became a leaker while in prison?
It was very minimally reported back when it happened. One or two major outlets with a very short report that disappeared after a couple hours.
not that I’m a muslim, but inshallah seems to fit the situation perfectly
Oh good.
Americans will be going further into debt to pay for the misdeeds of our government.
For this I’m supposed to be thankful and happy?
I would be much more pleased if the individuals responsible were fired, government would undergo much needed serious downsizing and the IRS would be eliminated.
“and the IRS would be eliminated.”
Bingo.
After paying down the debt, removing all the GOVT program corruption from grifters and reducing the bloated Govt by eliminating IRS and other continuous worthless Govt Depts, use tariffs to pay for our country’s needs as it used to be prior to Wilson’s great new society after WW1. No more income taxes.
The corrupt media and DemonRats will never let logic interfere with a political attack against President Trump.
They really are that stupid and corrupt.
Rachel Maddow was so proud of herself with the oversold 2005 1040 tax form on Trump.
I remember that trash.
Judge Napalitono was on talking about it. It will be challenged in court. Trump filed the lawsuit as a private citizen but it was prosecuted by Trump’s DOJ while he was president. The other issue is only Congress can pay out Federal money. I see that one easier to get around as by law Congress would have to pay citizen Trump and he could set up a private entity to handle the payments.
The DOJ has a slush fund to pay out this kind of thing… funded by monies they collect from prosecutions and settlements from companies they sue.
Napolitano FREQUENTLY gets things very wrong.
Judge NeedstotakeAnap
Law, even at the Supreme Court is opinion.
Well, well…
The Daily Mail in both the UK and US editions had this as their main story.
The framed it as President Trump’s “Personal Slush Fund”, the worst corruption EVAH!!!
Unprecedented!! Screamed the Democrats (only) who were quoted.
The comments were, of course, anti Trump and as expected, vile.
I just went back to secure a link to post, and surprise…
In both both editions, it has been removed. Poof! Just like that, a mere 30 minutes after I read it. As if they’d never printed it.
Why was that I wonder…
(Rhetorically speaking that is.)
I saw that too. “Personal Slush Fund” HA!
Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me that many of those comments are from bots.
Hard to know anymore. But most likely.
Thinking about Catherine Engelbrecht this day. Hope she gets a big settlement. The government tried to destroy her….and it wasn’t just the IRS.
Is this guy Littlejohn actually serving his sentence or is he kicking back at home while it’s “pending appeal”?
If no one goes to jail then it’s only the taxpayers getting punished.
Hardly a deterrence.
Currently in prison in Marion Illinois…. Release date Oct. 22, 2027
“If the media and democrats are correct that only President Trump supporters will benefit from the $1.7 billion IRS victim compensation fund, then by direct implication the media are asserting that only President Trump supporters were targeted by the IRS.”
As I posted on another thread yesterday, these people lack critical thinking skills.
Blinded by TDS……
Senate Parliamentarian Rejects White House Ballroom Funding In Reconciliation Bill
Link please, that ballroom was privately funded the last news that I saw about it.
I believe the parliamentarian (a democrat) rejected additional funds being included in a bill because the amount was too high. The additional money was to pay for security upgrades to the White House (and ballroom).
There’s a good chance this will not stand because the security is needed. Even players like Thune can realize it.
I have come to loath him as much as his predecessors. He proves that it’s the system that must be overcome.
My understanding is this has to do with security.
This article is short on specifics, but it is framed as if there were no private donors.
I’m none the wiser for having read it.
Nevertheless, here ya go, Monti 😎
(PS…There really does need to not be an avowed Democrat sitting in the Parliamentarian’s chair. But she suits Thune’s purposes, so there won’t be any change.)

Q
Off topic, take your trype elsewhere…😑
Is this to benefit his weathy donors and allies…Who else would the IRS see a benefit from? I don’t see where J6 are being compensated.
A board will oversee the funds. Victims can make a request for compensation — victims are anyone targeted by the Biden admin, which includes J6 prople.
President Trump has control of who is on the board.
“If the media and democrats are correct that only President Trump supporters will benefit from the $1.7 billion IRS victim compensation fund, then by direct implication the media are asserting that only President Trump supporters were targeted by the IRS.”
Its not even an implication, its a full admission accompanied by the primal scream.
Whatever the libs accuse others of is what they are guilty of….
Redistricting away from race based districts is prejudiced………..you just can’t dream this stuff up….they lie like a rug.
2020 was a free and fair election and you know that by all the iron handed intimidation tactics to keep bumble Biden clowning away for 4 long years.
In this case though the louder they scream works like a HARM missile, home in on it because it is the target.
(The AGM-88 HARM (High-speed Anti-Radiation Missile) is a tactical, air-to-surface anti-radiation missile designed to home in on electronic transmissions coming from surface-to-air radar systems.)
Logic, like a sense of humor, requires intelligence. Which reminds me, Biden put Kamala in charge of overseeing Artificial Intelligence. Can’t think of anyone more purely endowed with it.
The 4th Estate has transformed into the 5th Estate.
If I may….and pardon me please….. is this more in line with your thoughts B Masuda?
The 4th Estate has transformed into the 5th column
(A fifth column is a group of people who secretly undermine a larger group, such as a nation or a besieged city, from within, typically in favor of an enemy force.
The term, originally quinta columna, originated during the Spanish Civil War when Nationalist General Emilio Mola announced that his four columns of troops approaching Madrid would be supported by a hidden fifth column of sympathizers inside the city.)
There is a very good movie with Benedict Cumberbatch as a very believable Julian Assange entitled “The Fifth Estate”.
A bit darkish, but gripping.
Wow…..intense stuff…..
Don’t take this the wrong way, but this sucks.
The taxpayers are paying this, not Lois Lerner et al……………….
I. On 4/28/11 the D.C. District Court granted final approval of a historic settlement of $760M between Native American farmers and ranchers and the USDA. The Keepseagle settlement agreement required USDA to
1) pay $680M in damages to thousands of Native Americans, to
2) forgive up to $80M in outstanding farm loan debt, and to
3) improve the farm loan services USDA provides to Native Americans. [1]
II. U.S. District Judge Michael Barrett (Souther District of Ohio) gave preliminary approval to a $3.5M settlement of a lawsuit against the IRS over alleged targeting of tea party groups and other conservative organizations. [2]
III. President Trump negotiated with Acting AG Blanche a $ 1.776B settlement to pay claims made by alleged victims of government “weaponization” in exchange for dropping an ongoing lawsuit against the IRS. Whether Hunter Biden will make claims is unknown [3]. It is quite certain that there will be legal disputes.

1.7 billion? My groin and right leg are tingling. Way to go President Trump. Nicolle Wallace on MS NOW will milk this for all the propaganda she can.
“Honest Journalism” is an oxymoron. And the exceptions prove the rule.
I wondered why $1.776 billion was trending……great job, PotusTrump…….RatSkins can cry more
1776 Got it!
The Department Of Injustice and the IRS (THEIRS) regurgitates so much money it isn’t even funny and it’s all taxpayers money.
The worthless law breaking individuals (1) goes to jail while the massive amounts of true criminals walk with a full bank account and never chargers.
The DOJ pays police departments to release punks with multiple charges that go on to kill with the “Promise Program” among many other unseen programs.
TBF, Honest journalism is on X.
The major takeaways from the Fake News AP:
1. Democrats and the Corrupt Corporate Media say that the $1.7 billion is a slush fund designated for MAGA supporters. Well, I’m sure that, if we could actually find any DemonCrats who were targeted by the IRS, President Trump would compensate them as well. But that number will turn out to be approximately Zero.
2. The AP implies that the claims of IRS targeting are meritless. Then why did the IRS settle?
3. Note to the Media and the UniParty-there’s a new sheriff in town and his name is Donald J. Trump. He’s not fooling around.
FAFO
Ah, memories of Lois “Plead the Fifth and Drink a Fifth” Lerner and her condescending, arrogant boss Krapweasel Koskinnen.
Lois is still laughing and Democrats point to her as an example of what will happen next time they ask another corrupt bureaucrat for a favor: NOTHING
Lois Lerner retired from the IRS effective September 23, 2013, after more than 30 years of federal service (reports vary slightly on exact years, often cited as ~33–34). She receives a full federal pension under the Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) or possibly the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS), with no public denial of benefits despite the controversies. ntu.org +1
Exact current pension amounts for individual federal retirees are not publicly disclosed due to privacy rules. However, contemporary estimates based on her reported salary provide the best available figures:National Taxpayers Union (NTU) 2013 estimate: Up to ~$102,600 per year starting annuity (based on assumptions of CSRS coverage, ~34 years of service, and a high-three average salary of ~$177,000). This could total millions over a lifetime (e.g., ~$3.7–$3.96 million assuming survival to age 87, with survivor benefits reducing the annual amount somewhat). ntu.org
A 2014 Politico report cited a source involved in congressional investigations stating she was receiving a ~$100,000 annual pension. politico.com
Trump should sue the media on top of it.
I don’t want to come across as defending the IRS. I hate the very concept of taxing a man’ s income. My wife died last year before she turned 65 years old. After I filed my tax return, IRS came back to me and changed my return to grant the enhanced senior deduction for my wife and bumped up my return accordingly. I was shocked. Anybody want to opine about why they would do such a thing? I have a thought or two, but…….
Guessing IRS didn’t know your wife was deceased. I assume you filed a joint return. There are certain things you are supposed to do on that return to indicate your spouse died and date of death, but wouldn’t surprise me if IRS didn’t pick up on it.
It appears to me that for all intents and purposes, the 1.776 billion dollars will be funded by the IRS.
In other words, we taxpayers will flit the bill for the government’s malfeasance.
Am I somehow wrong about this?
No. Where else would it come from? It’s like any other claim against the government.
“Where else would it come from?”
My thoughts exactly.
Supposedly the IRS has money from companies that paid tax fines etc that will pay this. Not tax payers. Waiting for confirmation that is true.
“The DOJ paid over 400 lawsuit participants dating back to 2013 and the IRS apologized for the unlawful targeting based on political affiliation.”
And here we are today, 13 years later, witnessing things start to come to a full boil. Lesson learned. The key to dismantling a corrupt government is persistence.
Imagine the J6 tourists expecting $1 million each when Trump is just going to pocket the whole thing and send a voucher for a Trump phone.
EDIT: The money reportedly comes from the Federal Judgment Fund, which bypasses Congress entirely. Meaning taxpayer money can potentially be distributed without direct congressional appropriation or oversight in the traditional sense.
The entire GOP is complicit.
Vote. Them. All. Out.
Got no problem with only President Trump’s people benefiting from the money but, of course, that won’t be the case. Just hope they can manage to keep the fraudsters out.
On cue: Demonrats already hyperventilating that this is an illicit ‘slush fund’ for DJT cronies.
$1.776 Billion….. Hello! 1.776… 1776 Do we have to draw you a picture?
Longest MAGA Winning Streak Ive ever seen.
Have any of the criminals paid anything personally?
They didn’t get fired.
It cost them no money, no jail time, absolutely nothing.
Taxpayers are the ones paying the fines.
It’s just wonderful to be in the exclusive club of politicians, bureaucrats, and their illegal immigrant pets.
A plague on their houses.
I think Lois needs to be on trial. O and Eric too. Sued for everything they own down to the dirt on their floor.
Love our generous President Trump… he could have just taken the money for himself….
And the toxic leftists will never, ever admit that President Trump does anything good. Miserable Crap weasels
All presidents and presidential candidates should be required by law to release 10 years of tax returns.
Period.
Curious what your thoughts are on this Sundance. Not sure what “administrative claims” are involving the MAL raid or Russiagate.
Which was just an “inquiry” according to AP.
“As a condition for resolving the lawsuit, Trump has agreed to resolve administrative claims in which he sought compensation over the Mar-a-Lago investigation and a separate probe into ties between his 2016 campaign and Russia, an inquiry that unfolded during his first term in office and that he has long railed against.”
Very curious to know what the commission hearing these claims will do when they take testimony/evidence from victims, and it will be clear there were crimes committed against the victims.
Will they be referred for prosecution?
Or would that open to many questions as to why the perps were not prosecuted long ago.
Catherine Engelbrecht from True the Vote did God’s work and should be richly rewarded.
“If the media and democrats are correct that only President Trump supporters will benefit from the $1.7 billion IRS victim compensation fund, then by direct implication the media are asserting that only President Trump supporters were targeted by the IRS.”
IMHO…this is an example of one of Donald Trump’s greatest accomplishments: EXPOSING THE USA MSMEDIA. But the DEATH-O-CRATS are so SEVERELY LACKING IN DISCERNMENT that they CAN’T SEE WHAT IS STARING THEM IN THE FACE.
LITERALLY STUPID.
Now taxpayers have to fork out 1.7 Billion to victims of IRS criminality…
Making the scumbags pay, by stripping them of their qualified immunity would be a much more satisfying solution. Using the pensions of lifetime corrupt career bureaucrats, to fund compensation to victims of their malfeasance, might be a good place to start.
We want PRISON for the bad actors……
WE DEMAND IT!
NO MERCY!
