Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping hosted President Donald J Trump and the delegation of administration officials and leaders of U.S. businesses during a state dinner in Beijing, China.
The full video of the event is below, prompted to 12:37 where President Trump delivered remarks to the Chinese and American attendees.

The flowers are beautiful.
As is the most elegant ORANGE backdrop. Subtle 😉
“Not by might nor by power, but by MY SPIRIT, says The LORD ALMIGHTY.”
AMEN
Until China takes meaningful action to back up those words, then they are just words and nothing more. It is encouraging, perhaps, but they cannot be trusted and will renege over the slightest thing. Of course, Trump and Rubio already know that, so it will be really interesting to see what action they expect China will take to back up those words and what leverage they begin to apply when China starts to back away from those words.
I trust China about as far as I trust Iran. The only difference between the two is the language. Communism and Islam are two ideologies from the same pit of hell.
OK WD Kirk.. do you thrust BiBi….???
Why would we trust any of these people?
Everything here on Earth, in this fallen world, is temporary. There’s no ultimate trust in anything or anyone apart from God. So we just ride out the ‘trust’ we establish with others as long as we can, knowing any moment they may break it. And hopefully we’re fully prepared for that day and don’t stake too much on it.
I can’t think of a foreign leader I trust more. Sad, at one time I would have included Canada and the UK but not so much currently.
From your comment, I get the feeling you don’t agree.
My guess is that they don’t expect them to do anything; the public statement by Xi was a victory and a powerful message to Iran and anyone who would side with them. The isolation grows deeper.
Panda/Dragon. Trust but verify.
Trust but verify should be standard policy for all.
Trust has gotten very cheap !!
Not sure what your meaning is here.
Like trusting a pickpocket in Times Square with your wallet. What real incentive does the CCP have to end the Iran conflict? The visit was long on carrots, short on sticks.
those are words never heard before, I dare say… I’m in awe of our President, the ultimate statesman… I hope all who read this take heed … This is a leader of men. This is the man who fearlessly will call out and do all he can to put down socialism, communism, marxism at home and around the world. May God continue to bless President Trump.
Fully agree like all the words and platitudes spouted by 6 US Administrations over the past 47 years. Finally Trump is doing something. Remember Iran visited China a couple weeks ago and from all indications nada came of it. President Trump visits and the Red carpet comes out, Big meetings happen, Agreements are made and we all supp together!
Oh and plans are made for a reciprocal trip by Xi to visit the White House in September. Four months seems reasonable to stir the tea leaves again. Remember the old days when you could listen to the neighbor’s chat on the “Party Line” Well some of us are mature enough! LOL!!! Sure wish I could listen into the “Party Line” when Trump and Putin talk when Trump returns to Washington!
Xi is wise enough to know that Trump is different – extraordinary – and holds the will and the power to make Xi’s rule very difficult. No other President has earned that. I do feel that God has his hand on Trump, and although Xi may not believe in our God, or any God, Xi still senses it, and recalibrates accordingly. He knkows Trump is the decision maker. He knows he’s not a representative for some other nebulous evil entity like the Dems are associated with. He knows Trump just wants everyone to be prosperous and that Trump can’t be compromised.
That’s what happens when you leave Witkoff and Kushner at home eh?
He brought his son along. 😁
China still has yet to live up to the trade agreement they made during Trump 45, so there is no point in anyone getting excited about potential sales.
President Trump Won!!!
Gracias Dios
that’s fine. It gives him the leverage to take action if they “are not fulfulling their promise”
Any specific item you are referring too? I haven’t been following but I don’t remember any great kerfuffle in that regurd.
He’s aging backwards. Must be the Big Macs.
Not the diet drinks or the fries? 😃
His loving spirit is what keeps him young. Our enemies talk about what an awful person he is and nothing could be further from the truth. That’s why they do it.
Security first thing thought about.
praying for our President and entourage
China steals our jobs & IP, spies on us, has thousands of sleeper agents in the U.S. and rigs our elections.
What’s not to love?
Bats?
China flu ??
I started typing that but took it out because I more blame Fauci and black hats in the U.S. gov’t for unleashing covid.
Unfortunately, bad actors in the U.S. gov’t, specifically DARPA, were the progenitors of covid. Which is why we will never get full transparency on covid…. The U.S. gov’t is libel to the world for damages. So, in a way, the lack of transparency and full resolution is protecting the U.S. taxpayer.
Don’t forget about Uranium 1, it’s all connected…
Even just a few years ago, retribution mattered so much to me. And I still want it to ensure they are stopped in their ability to commit more crimes.
But the more time that goes by, the more I am grateful to have all the harm they have caused being slowly undone. There is a lot to say for recovery. And what I truly want is for people to wake up because knowledge is power.
Everything they have that’s good they stole from us. They don’t contribute anything beneficial to the betterment of mankind worldwide.
all this and live organ harvesting of political and religious prisoners. So much for rhetoric about de-coupling.
That said, let PDJT cook.
We can’t blame the rust belt on the Chinese. The CCP didn’t steal our jobs, we affirmatively gave them up. Managed decline is a Western Marxist / Globalist scourge. That said, I agree with the rest of your comments. The CCP are no friends of ours!
You’re correct.
I was referring to China stealing jobs via unfair trade practices, dollar pegging, dumping, forced labor, slave labor, human rights violations, etc. I should have been more clear in the original post.
Buying something by trading stolen goods is stealing.
China bought our jobs cheap, using our IP they did not rightfully own or got by spying, using slave labor (which is NEVER right to own,) using China’s willingness to allow their companies to pollute the world’s oceans and air that they do not own.
Buying Chinese merchandise is like fencing stolen goods.
KEEP YOUR friends CLOSE, AND YOUR ENEMIES EVEN CLOSER….
Fentanyl
good point.
What are some thoughts about this event, given the short turnaround?
IMHO…he needs to get home and fix the domestic problems…
Agree Aggie. This is what I’m hearing a whole lot of around me here in NH. No one cares about China when they can’t afford food and gas.
Are people adapting to the higher prices or continuing to eat and drive as before?
This. The most important thing is, Iran has no nuclear weapon, ever.
Adapting is not really the right word, a lot of people are going down the drain.
People have short memories.
If you had your life wiped out during the Biden Reign of Terror, which huge numbers of people did and this wasn’t very long ago, how have they had the time to turn that around?
We’ve just been whacked again with high gas and food prices despite voting to end the misery and now we’re being told to suck it up and be happy we’re not hit with a nuclear weapon.. okay good luck winning on that message during the mid-terms.
Good point! Getting hit with a nuclear bomb sure takes care of worries about high gas and food prices and we sure know how Americans love instant gratification!
The thing with Iran and the war, which China is a part of, which people don’t seem to connect the dots when talking about the gasoline prices, is this :
Once Iran possessed a nuclear weapon, even if they didn’t use it, they absolutely would Threaten/Blackmail the other Gulf States into charging What They Dictate the price will be. $200 per bbl for instance. And there would be absolutely nothing the rest of the world could do about it then.
We would All be yearning for the days when gasoline was only $4-5/gallon again – the same as I yearn for it when it was only 0.25 and 0.50 per gallon in my youth.
The other thing people don’t realize, is that a nuclear weapon is not a Manhattan Project anymore. The designs are well understood and modern manufacturing can create the components in mere weeks.
So if Iran has/had enough material for 11 devices, and ballistic missiles to reach London & Berlin, then the pain we are dealing with is absolutely necessary, as bad as it seems.
Because they could assemble a nuclear weapon and place it on a ballistic missile, within mere months.
Excellent summation. People who cannot see past their pocketbooks aren’t looking at the big picture.
I would only add this point to the likely outcome had Trump not acted: the IRGC is a doomsday cult filled with 12th imamers who literally believe that in order for the return of their Mahdi, the world must be in total chaos. Their whole purpose of acquiring a nuclear weapon was to make this happen.
The way that they cling to power in the current circumstances just demonstrates how bat guano crazy they are.
Agreed, 100%
If they reach London or Berlin, Another rocket engine and they reach Washington and New York or maybe Miami where that Great Satan Trump lives. I keep hearing “Death to America” not so much “Death to UK and Germany”!
Funny, I hear people from both sides of the aisle saying “By the time I pay my cable bill, my Netflix bill, the payment and service on my top of the line iPhone 10,000,
Monthly fees for apps. Satellite radio for my cars, I can barely afford to pay the high price of gas for my car.
Hardly leaves anything to buy food for my kids.
My goodness. I stopped cable, expensive streaming, satellite radio a decade ago! I assume you are just playing with sarcasm, lol
..
He’s speaking about the people who spend large sums every month on luxury items when the other side of the ledger is Iran having nuclear weapons. People are ignorant about the “cost” if they would use those weapons and the reality that one can happily live without luxury items.
LOL Some people need to get a life. Get rid of cable, Netflix, apps and get in touch with the real people.
Yikes.
What else can be said with such priorities.
Needs vs wants is a good place to start that discussion.
True. The average American could give a rat’s rear end about China. POTUS Trump needs to focus on the economy, the mid-term elections, finishing the job in Iran and promoting his America First agenda.
He is focused on the economy, the mid-terms, and finishing Iran. The problem isn’t him. The problem is you don’t see jt.
…..finishing Iran..?….it’s easy start bombing…it’s more difficult now finish war…never underestimate your enemies/ competitors……
He’s in China partly to finish what he’s doing in Iran. Also partly to create a better future for us economically and to make us more secure (even though he knows who he is dealing with).
And as he said the other day, short-term higher gas prices are a fair trade for ensuring Iran doesn’t get nuclear weapons (or even ramping up to become a war machine as they were previously doing).
We need to speak up when people don’t see the bigger picture. The irony is that President Trump is completely focused on our country. Some people don’t see that because of their ignorance.
That ignorance is partly a result of the lies hammered by the corporate media for years. It’s also a result of our politicians over the years lying to us about how things really work. And it’s partly a result of the hedious job our schools have done for years.
But now our lives are on the line. It behooves all of us to speak up, even when it’s uncomfortable. At a minimum, we can suggest this website and others to people.
Very well said! Thank You!
well, apparently the folks who live in NH are rubes who don’t get out much nor read and interpret the news of the world… … seriously… grow up.
Comment of the thread. Well said Aggie and NH.
(I might add that NOTHING in this visit gave me any indication that the CCP cares at all about the Straight of Hormuz.)
But we have been told repeatedly that fixing the foreign stuff will fix the domestic stuff. That has certainly been a primary talking point around here for the past year+.
Yeah, funny you mention that.
Agreed!
I wonder what work he did that isn’t public. I pray he has called them out on all they ways they are subverting our country, politicians, businesses, education.
Video games brainwashing our children, corrupted science.
I wonder if education and HB1 visas were addressed. If education will be more accessible to US citizens.
It was well planned months in advance. All the deals were done before they left the US.
Affordability at home requires jobs and earning, which is closely related to fair trade with China. Can’t do domestic issues if the fairness with China isn’t addressed. Dozens of US ceo’s seem to understand. Fair trade could include opening Chinese markets to more US goods than farm products. People making phones in China should be able to afford to buy one. That’s a lot of resetting.
Government is slow, a creeper. CEO’s work in the here and now! A smart move by POTUS!
“What are some thoughts about this event, given the short turnaround?”
Underneath a bit of diplomatic pageantry, this was always meant to be a business trip. It was never meant to be a vacation or scenic tour. Go. Meet. Discus. Move on.
We may have domestic issues but at least now we won’t get nuked, at least for now…
…….. at least not from Iran!
I wonder what was on the menu………if it was Chinese ????
with 6 you get egg roll…..lol
things seem to be going well.
Crispy beef ribs and Peking duck. Tiramisu for dessert.
Those were just the headline items
For you young ones out there:
Good movie.
The absolute BEST Kung Pao chicken I ever had was in a nondescript local restaurant in a neighborhood near to Beijing International Airport about 10 years ago 🙂
And the absolute BEST shrimp Lo Mein I ever had was in another “locals eat there” place not far from Tienanmen Square that our cab driver/tour guide took us to because his brother ran the place!!
Those kinds of places are the best. I remember eating a Chinese beef in tomato sauce that was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The sauce made the dish. The beef was super tender. Paired with plain rice it was superb.
The Orientals eat nothing but rice dishes, The hottest (spiciest) meal of the day is breakfast! I was a young whippersnapper back then and beer with the meal was welcomed, LOL! The coffee was iced.
I used to shudder at the thought of cold coffee. Now I relish it.

And it will be ready in 10 minute
Wow. There was a reason they had a seat cushion in the chair. Chairman Xi Jinping’s head is a seat cushion higher than President Trump’s head.
Sort of an awkward moment; however, President Trump just powers through it.
Watching the video of it, looked like President Trump was asked and didn’t want the seat cushion.
That would be considered a gracious gesture on the part of Trump. He is 5 or 6 inches taller than Xi but he Xi’s guest. I don’t think President Trump wants to dominate in this setting.
Taiwan TV news has footage of Xi wearing what appears to be 3 or 4 inch heels.during President Trump’s visit.
….Height of Xi is same as VSGPDJT..6’3″……..
President Xi had a cushion also, it’s for back support and Xi used his. I think helpful to sit up comfy and straight in those type of chairs. The White House YT shows this about a minute and a half in. I think Trump and Xi are about same height; Trump looks shorter in that one shot cause he is slouching in his chair. The side angle in the same time stamp, “White House” video shows Xi’s chair using the cushion displays it : )
Trump is 6’3”. Xi is 5’9”
omg! this is a point of discussion ? wtf?
With GOP Help, House Dems Force Vote To Give Another $1.3 Billion To Ukraine
-> Posted by Kewl2 @ 14:27 pm on May 14, 2026 3 Comments on With GOP Help, House Dems Force Vote To Give Another $1.3 Billion To Ukraine
…plus up to another $8 billion in “loans”
In a rebellion defying the priorities of Speaker Mike Johnson, House Democrats have teamed up with two Republicans and an independent in a parliamentary maneuver that will force a vote on a bill that would give another $1.3 billion in military aid and other assistance to Ukraine, as that country continues to lose territory in its war with Russia.
“We look forward to seeing the House pass this bill quickly and encourage the Senate to take it up without delay. The ?brave men and women of Ukraine ?are waiting,” said NY Rep. Gregory Meeks, ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the author of the bill.

A veto will give the President something fun to do when he gets back.
I certainly hope he does. I’m sick of this insanity. Enough is enough. We have critical needs here at home, like resisting and fighting the attempts of the Democratic Socialists, a.k.a. Communists, who want to destroy our country.
…There is another ..insanity ….beside sending $$$$$$ to glorious Ukraine…..are we really in the last stage of US Corporation ????and beginning of US Constitutional Republic ?????
Blue state rebellion continues.
Tossing the Constitution: The Democrats’ Latest ‘Save Democracy’ Plan
https://hotair.com/david-strom/2026/05/14/new-hotness-democrats-want-to-toss-out-constitution-n3814945
It’s a UniParty rebellion. The GOP refuses to effectively oppose the DemonCrats on anything meaningful.
They are criminal co-conspirators with the Dems.
Axios is claiming that President TRUMP is “in a bind” about how to pressure Iran into surrendering.
“Trump said he doesn’t think about Americans’ financial situation” !!!
They want that to equal: President TRUMP does not care about Americans!
They leave out the context of what he said: “I don’t think about Americans’ financial situation while negotiating with Iran.”
We know, however, that the country “in a bind” is CHINA! They need that Iranian oil, and it is showing up in odd areas.
Two days ago, NBC ran the same story of the Communists everywhere: (paraphrasing) “Trump has painted himself into a corner and needs the Chinese to help him with Iran.”
The very next story was about Chinese companies needing to change packaging to Black-and-White because of a shortage of colored ink!
And what must one have to create colors for ink?
OIL!!! Yes, the oil shortage in China is so bad, that colored ink is now hard to impossible to find!
Did anybody at NBC connect the dots here? Did anybody notice the massive contradiction in the two stories?
Apparently not! This is how ideologues blind themselves from the obvious: when you truly believe your own propaganda, your life is on the wrong path!
It’s so ridiculous, it’s silly. MAGA is existential to bile slingers like Axios/NBC …enemy MSM, As President Trump keeps up the attack expect heads to explode, literally.
I want to know what they are having for breakfast. Sun is up over here.
Time for President Trump to go wheels up, get the hell out of there.
I’d rather think that President Trump is enjoying this trip. Another busy day of talks ahead. A tea service before Trump departs.
He’s enjoying his time away from the howling dems! What’s the hurry?
We need him back here. Let the ChiComs get back to their lying and stealing and murdering.
Dim sun?
Not sure. That would be a good choice though. I’m sure traditional eggs and bacon are available but a steamed bun would go with those easily.
I thought his words were appropriate, but, I could tell he was a little bit nervous. So much at stake
Pres. Trump’s comments were not written for a domestic (“MAGA”) audience.
[To “commenters”: “Stop being / expressing disappointment.” Wait, be patient, … Let’s see … What’s next ?]
There are certainly many ways to view the appearance of the man who continues to play “four, five, six, …” layered chess.
Long ago humanity (regardless of geography) was challenged by the manufacture of “cloth”. Then, the challenge of how to “cut and bind” cloth into the purposeful (eventually tailored) shapes of garments.
Nevertheless, the persistent problem was the “loose / hanging thread”.
[Not 100 years ago, machinists of the incredible analytic and physical dexterity, using only now rudimentary mechanical tools created marvels – purposed for peace and war. And, now today, Engineers observing over time many others and working together have, among other marvels, conceived and applied (now transparent) CAD/CAM and “11-axis lathes”. (No disrespect intended to “materials engineers” and all the other inter-dependencies / related expertise.)]
I reserve further comment … While I pray for peace and “healthy competition” (the absence of “public/private partnerships”).
They were words for any Chinese person who hears them that might spark them to ponder that 250 years ago they had ancestors who appear to have thought about things like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Clever I think.
You fully missed my point, which evidences the prospective risks of the “mid terms”.
Thank you for adding to the conversation.
Who knew DJT spoke Mandarinese.
it seemed like Trump had a drop of alcohol to toast to the chinese people in the room. Looks like he was a little uncomfortable with doing that and only had one sip, and put the glass down. The chinese are saying it was a great honor to the chinese people that that was the first time Trump ever made a toast with champagne.
hopefully, he doesn’t get hooked. I could tell it was an uncomfortable moment for him. He didn’t drink the whole glass, just a sip. This might be one of the best days in Trump political run. China seems to be really celebrating the union between china and usa. China has never celebrated any other leader like that. It must of been an amazing event for Trump Admin.
Go Trump Go
I suspect that was something else. Xi knows that Trump does not drink so a non alcoholic drink was substituted.
You know they want a Democrat back in power in the worst way so they can go back to eating our lunch.
Powerful speeches. Unity sounds promising. .
Thank goodness our President Donald Trump is representing the USA in China – and NOT the failed Dem DEI woman candidate of the Last election.
I shudder to think about that silly woman being anywhere close to the White House. Thank God the Democrats were not allowed to steal the presidency in 2024.
Godzilla Trump in China!
The alternative view video shows Rubio checking out the place as if he was Secret Service.
This guy wears all hats.
Detest Hannity, so will wait for a transcript – but a PDJT interview will air tonight.

Rubio on Taiwan…
This is a great reminder of the importacet to create avenues which give party’s in talks the means to, and opportunty to, save face is a lesson worth remembering. President Trump is a master at this technique.
Very diplomatic post by President Trump.
China to buy American oil.
https://www.cnbc.com/2026/05/15/trump-xi-summit-energy-purchase-china-iran-war-oil-shock-.html
I would not be surprised that President Trump knows how to speak the Chinese language. Our VGSP made some hand motions to the translator at the beginning , and only the “look” that he can give that that he knows exactly how what he was saying was translated true to form.
When the gas prices go down the media will complain that the price of bottled water is way too high.
IMO, looking at SOME of the comments further proof of how Americans have been psyoped, bigly, against China, and also Russia.
Take about 40 min and watch this excellent video with E.M. Burlingame. Well worth the time.
