Bases in the US have been closed in previous years. Why would European bases be any different?

U.K., Spain, Germany, and Italy should have time enough to boost their militaries before either Russia or China are able to pose any threat. We have worn out our welcome, are not appreciated, are disrespected and I see zero need for our being where we are not wanted. Italy, Germany, U.K., and Spain have failed the test, are not reliable allies, and cannot be trusted any longer. Therefore, no point in remaining in their countries. There are still reliable trustworthy countries in NATO, and we should build relationships with them.

What many do not realize, our global basing is not solely for protection of Allies. It provides enormous advantage for power projection. Without these bases, the US could not conduct sustained military operations at scale. There is a happy middle but for those saying zero troops outside the US must also accept this will significantly decrease capability.
Iran is truly a global threat – so when these countries deny our access to use the bases, or their airspace, as they have done in this action against Iran, then what good are they ? When and for what else will they deny us access ?
