The décor for the evening reflects a shared appreciation for gardens. Cherry blossoms greet guests upon entering the Grand Foyer. Inspired by the beauty of English gardens, towering trees and blossoming garden boxes of lilac enhance the splendor of the room. Tables, dressed in green pleated linens, are adorned with seasonal blooms of lilac, butterfly ranunculus, phlox, and lily of the valley, underscoring the beauty of spring. Lush garden greens are complemented by accents of gold and white. The tables are set with more than 250 pieces of vermeil from the White House collection, alongside hand-crafted ceramics by distinguished American artisans, including Ben Wolff. The Clinton Anniversary Service is presented alongside hand-painted menus, with courses served on both the Clinton and Bush china services. I had a rare burger for dinner that I wouldn’t trade for a seat at any of those tables.
I don’t eat mine rare, but I’d rather have the burger, too!
All of that food is too rich. And velouté is a sauce. So it’s veggies with sauce on. Cool.
The snow peas sound good; better if they were next to a good steak.
I like my fish with the almond and butter sauce but was that fish? I have never heard of it but I live on the Gulf.
That would be the Gulf of America, I presume?
Gulf Coast boy myself,…. mine is Specked Trout Meuniere, with its white wine, lemon, tarragon/basil and butter sauce that enhances, not over powers the delicate delicious fresh fish flavor,… preferably the receipt from Galatoire’s on Bourbon Street, not that snobby Antoine’s on St. Louis.
Had I attended this gala sit down, I’d have told the waiter,…. “Hold every thing but the Chocolate Gâteau, and please serve it with a chilled glass of Boone’s Farm ’25,… unless you have some good Manischewitz in stock!” /s
It’s soup usually put in a blender to mash up the herbs
Medium rare for me!
Glad to hear they used herbs for the salad from the WH kitchen garden ❤️🤗
I right there with you eating my bacon fries with cheese and ranch dressing.
Texas sweet tea to wash it down.
Portillo’s for me.
Good call, there are some locations here now.
Downtown Stuart has a place that ships in from Chi.
Costco chicken chunks and Costco chopped salad.
OK, but Lafayette’s sounds better.
Had a BLT and pasta salad for dinner and loved it!
Are these left-overs from Saturday?
I believe the left overs from the WHCD were donated to a woman’s shelter and other charitable orgs.
I went to the White House State Dinner with President Trump and King Charles and all I got was Dover Sole………..
Yuck!
I’ll eat yours along with mine.
I’ll have a grilled Chick-fil-a please and thank you. And don’t forget the large sweet ice tea!
Ahh…. So there’s the one person who gets the grilled Chick fil a!
Make that two. I like the Chick fil a original fried better, but sometimes just in the mood for something different.
No tea for me though. I will have the vanilla iced coffee.
Tea is iced, coffee is hot!
Someday, try the Trump Burger:
Brisket burger with lettuce, tomato, White American cheese, mayo, & bread and butter pickles, on a potato roll.
The pickles and white cheese really define the burger.
The menu sounds interesting to me, and I would especially like to sample the Riesling. In general, I am quite a carnivore, but I do like well-prepared fish occasionally. And morels are really nice, too. We can pick them in the wild here in wooded areas.
should have served the Chuck III some bacon.
Arby’s classic roast beef for me tonight, followed by their slightly warmed peach cobbler… wife’s away for three days.
I hear chuckie “let me peer over my glasses and down my nose” Schumer makes a decent tartare cheeseburger.
My husband brought home a 10 pc box of KFC with fixings.
FLOTUS and POTUS always represent America so well.
No Big Macs or French Fries?
Or yummy Schumerburgers.
Best served Chilled.
I guess the king doesn’t like a big Mac will give him pizza 👍😎🤣
Sacre’ bleu !!!
Bucees BBQ Brisket might work….?
Oh, yeah! With a double fudge brownie and a 16 ounce sweet tea. Yummmm!
Nothing better on the planet.
President Trump is the perfect President to celebrate 250 years… I cannot even remotely imagine the tangled word salad nonsense from the kneeler in chief if she had been drug across the finish line and foisted upon us. God is good.
Amen
Oh, you mean Harris kneeling to George Floyd I thought you meant Pelosi.
I think Buckwheat meant Harris kneeling to Willie Brown. Pelosi might have, too. Just saying!
Yes, God knew what we needed at this particular time in history.
WOW ! What an astounding elegant beautiful gown that our Beautiful First Lady Melania is wearing ❣️
A Queen of quiet elegance, grace, beauty and womanhood in her own right.
That gown!!!!!!
Yes Mam❣️
I totally agree and she may have surpassed Jacqueline K in that Dior gown…wowza!
Blessings to our First Lady and may she inspire all women, with her powerful femininity.
A small article in the Daily Mail making the same comparison, Sis.
https://www.dailymail.com/lifestyle/fashion/article-15772759/melania-trump-dress-donald-state-dinner-king-charles-queen-camilla.html
Thanks bunches BJ for that link…rarely read the Daily Mail and find it astounding they wrote an article so favorable to our First Lady. The dress is very Haute Couture and not for the faint of heart, but perfect for this high level occasion.
P.S. Ralph Lauren cream suit this morning was also fabulous, but I digress.
How glorious that the Season of Bedspreads, Parlour Curtains and Sofa Covers has seen its day 😎
You made me laugh…it is a blessing those days are over.
And this morning, another lengthier DM article with more photographs comparing the exquisite styles of both First Ladies.
https://www.dailymail.com/lifestyle/article-15774815/Melania-Trump-channels-Jackie-O-Lady-takes-leaf-late-White-House-style-icons-sartorial-book.html
And Ghetto Chic.
Now that’s funny right there.
Melania’s greatest triumph was that pale blue dress and jacket with matching gloves she wore to the first inaugural. Nothing ever has or will surpass it. Ralph Lauren an American designer. Not Macy’s third or fourth level Ralph Lauren but highest Bergdoff’s level. Jill Biden’s cornflower blue Ralph Lauren suit she wore to Charles inauguration was another triumph. Of all the guests the absolute best outfit. Don’t hate me because Jill Biden wore it. I’m praising the suit not Jill.
With Jill, the suit wore her.
Not so with Melania…
And that’s the difference.
the daily mail pix of Jackie then and Melania now makes poor Jackie look like an excited girl at her first high school prom by comparison. MizMelania surely does know how to wear it well…
Good observation and the fashion powers that be never offered our First Lady a cover shoot on any magazine. Can you believe it…a fashion icon who happens to be in the White House and they snub her for 10 years?
I hope they come crawling on their bellies begging her for a style issue and she ignores their requests.
Considering how the fashion rags slobbered over Moochelle and Jilldo…
But the female impersonator Ms Obama was on the covers of Vogue and Harpers several times a year. Melania was actually on one if those covers about 25 years ago. In her wedding dress. But that was when Donald was still a democrat, had a float in the annual NYC Israel parade etc. How things have changed
I remember the Kennedy worship when I was a kid. I honestly couldn’t see the difference between Jackie’s clothes and what every other woman and girl wore.Jackie’s handmade in Paris or Macy’s and Sears
I think Melania is such a contrast to the hideous appearance of the average woman today. Long lank hair just hanging down or scrounged up in a messy pony tail. Baggy sweatpants or tight leggings instead of well fitting pants. Long baggy oversized tops Military uniform padded coats in black brown and mud beige coats in winter. Like Russian army winter coats. Mud beige mud gray and black every item of women’s clothes. Not even pretty sumner dresses until it hits 95 degrees. Just combed neat instead of lank straggly hair is high fashion these days.
I have always said she was one up on Jackie.
I just love her! She is beautiful, but more importantly IMO, she is gracious. When I think of the things she has had to go through ever since her husband decided to run for President, I am immensely grateful. She must have a lot of love for him and also for this country.
Just wish she would smile more often. The only time I see her smile is around children but that may be justified.
When Melania first appeared and I saw her in long evening gloves, I thought “Yes!” We FINALLY have fashion, style and class back in this country! She looked so beautiful…..
With Grace,…. she stoops to conquer.
Ahhhhhhhh 💕
Audrey Hepurn, move over.
Twins in that department I think, DaPicayune 💕
I’ve never seen her look anything but elegant and beautiful. She’s the epitome of pure class imo.
Earlier…
Perfection.
Beautiful pic of our First Lady…check out those buttons or military snaps or rivets?
Ralph Lauren tailor made…nuff said.
I wonder what is going through her mind…
I’ll bet that never in her young life as a girl growing up in Slovenia could ever conceive how she would one day become a legal immigrant, citizen, then First Lady of these United States. If someone long ago had told her her future, she would have laughed at the very suggestion and considered it folly.
God bless her beautiful soul.
And be hostess to the King of England.
Not in her wildest imagination.
Trump chose well, with the advantage of wealth. She has aged far better than most, and apparently discreet too (a rarity in women, in the US at least).
Of course, her start as Melania Knauss was extraordinary as well.
REMOVED – poster blocked.
Ed please remove the naked fabrication, it’s a disgrace.
‘ Ed please remove the naked fabrication, it’s a disgrace. ‘
Thank you for the laugh.
The source of the “fabrication”:
The GQ magazine cover was even more “revealing”.
She was doing this back then, you know.
Cognitive Dissonance: You choose to block out reality and cling to the illusion, because the reality is too jarring for your psyche.
Wonder how many of the dignitaries who attended the WH state dinner were aware of this about her, in her buttoned up royal attire. “Smile, and say something appropriately polite, when introduced.”
Edited by Ad rem…
‘ Cognitive Dissonance: You choose to block out reality and cling to the illusion, because the reality is too jarring for your psyche. ‘
One of the key psychological mechanisms exploited by the veiled Controllers to manipulate minds en masse.
For example:
1. The possibility that the plandemic and shots could have been done intentionally by the US government, with goals including degradation of the US and readying the biotyranny framework for the next stage?
Too distressing if true.
Cognitive Dissonance: Ignore all evidence that contradicts the comforting official narrative:
2. “The authorities assure us that all is well, they made some mistakes but their intentions are good, they are working to protect us.”
There were numerous things injected into the media to push people toward #2.
A very powerful psychological device, even more so with weak people as cultivated in the last few generations of Americans.
‘ There were numerous things injected into the media to push people toward #2. ‘
And also mass coordinated censorship, propaganda, and muddying to obfuscate and discredit information sources providing facts supporting #1.
What entity has demonstrated decades of practice refining the means to do all that, in a “nudge” campaign coordinated behind the scenes?
You connect the dots.
My sister-in-law was married to a man from Sweden. When my husband and I spent time in Sweden and Norway we quickly learned that the people there think very differently about the naked body.
We walked to the top of a hill to look down upon the town of Geiranger, Norway, and upon reaching the top of the gravel path found a woman fully nude sunning herself there. My husband turned and ran down the hill, while the woman shrugged her shoulders as if to say she thought nothing of where she was or how she was dressed (or not dressed).
Then in a shopping mall we saw a man on a business trip looking for a gift to bring home to his American wife. He didn’t know European sizes and wondered if the shirt he was looking at would fit his wife. He told the sales clerk she was his wife’s size, and without blinking an eye she pulled her shirt off — breasts fully exposed — and put on the shirt the man was interested in buying. Yeowsa. There were a few embarrassed Americans in the store when she did that, but all the Swedes took it as being totally natural.
Most shocking to us was when we saw an old granny working out in her field with no shirt on. We were dumbfounded. My sister-in-law said in Europe seeing the naked body is no big deal. She said what the Europeans found disgusting was how Americans had pornography all around them, more filthy sexual things, and yet they found a nude body abhorrent.
Melania was born and raised in Europe, and probably holds a different opinion of nudity than the rest of us.
Not a fabrication. Typical European permissiveness. Big effin’ deal.
Oh noes!
And the Empress Theodora, saint of the Eastern Church, was a dancing girl/actress. Many great people come from beginnings that aren’t, shall we say, ‘posh’. One could liken it to the promise that America started on when we gained our freedom from the empire that now has the very ‘posh’ Queen Camilla.
With that said:
Romans 3:23:
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
Even the Lady Melania and her husband who is deified by MAGA.
And in contemporary America, all signs point to a nation coming under the judgement of God, because the sin is rising to a level of abomination exceeding even Sodom and Gomorrah.
It looks like He is going to destroy us, just like those two and other abominations He has destroyed throughout history.
“Nothing to see here, go back to your lives citizens.” We have plenty to occupy our time while this plays out. Including pomp and circumstance, with the preening royal (and wannabe royal) peacocks of the state dinner. Notice all the CTH reader comments fixating on their plumage – telling.
Edited by Ad rem…
I get it….the first Lady fan club….as if we don’t have many things to worry about. “Those days” are gone, sadly. The pic doesn’t bother me as much as the fact that, in that business ,you do what you have to. Same for being First Lady. Same for being married to a billionaire who is overly concerned about appearances, it is what it is.
No denying she has aged well but most do not have access to the “tools” in which to do that. Melania is without a doubt the most beautiful First Lady the US has ever had. To think Jackie O was fawned over is kinda sad …
I don’t think the world of glamour, pomp and circumstance, denies Melania her due because of who she is married to but because our country must be denied. They must take away any cause for citizens to be proud.
Frances Cleveland was far more beautiful than either Melania or Jackie. So was another pre civil war First Lady. Mrs Tyler even with no makeup and unflattering photographs
Frankie Folsom Cleveland was a ringer. She was 21 when she married Grover.
But she was so hot it took a tintype to capture the hotness without melting.
That said, she and Mrs. Tyler were both very attractive women. As is Melania today.
Jackie was pretty, but not quite in Melania’s or Frankie’s league.
Nor did she have the poise of Frankie as an older woman, or Melania now.
Rauk, The picture is not appropriate.
Since you present yourself sanctimonious, you are apparently not aware that you just caused those who are susceptible to pictures worse than this to stumble.
You quote Romans but go farther.
Romans 14:21 (WEB):
It is good to not eat meat, drink wine, nor do anything by which your brother stumbles, is offended, or is made weak.
Don’t knowingly offend the neighbor(hood) with your choice of food or drink in front of that person who cannot handle it. You may cause them to relapse, get sick, get drunk, or worse.
And in anything else (your actions, your speech, drugs, soft porn, any addiction (ANYTHING) DO NOT present something to the weak person that causes them to stumble, relapse, become ill, or worse.
Your placing of a picture within the neighborhood of @Sundance surely caused someone weak to look, to view (even enlarge), to get curious, and go searching for more.
Did you cause a recovering addict of soft porn to relapse?
This was a destructive post and offensive to the readers of @Sundance.
If you wish to admonish Melania Trump, do it personally and directly and privately like Romans tells us.
And while you are pointing your finger at her, you will notice three fingers pointing back at yourself.
Our job as believers is to lift each other up. You have offended today.
Read all of Romans 14 & 15 or how about the whole context of (the) Romans.
Then cast tour stone at Melania.
Ask @Sundance to take the picture down and ask forgiveness to his readers.
“You have offended today.”
(As he meant to, with this and comments which followed.)
And that will be my only comment.
Except to say I just executed my first ever red flag.
SD removed.
Thanks to you, too Betsy.
I very much appreciate your dissection of the comments, Psalm, and the falsity of them.
Ad rem’s doing, my friend.
Not here, not ever!! 👍🏻
Your citations from Romans reads like the Doctrine Of Wokeness Go along to get along. Don’t offend anyone. Don’t push back on any weirdness because, God forbid, you might cause someone to have their feelings hurt. Deny yourself so you don’t chance triggering someone and make them Feel unworthy . I don’t go out of my way to make anyone have unpleasant ‘feels’ but neither will I pander to unwarrented delusions
Off-topic.
Read it again.
Thank you @Sundance for removing.
You post a photo of the First Lady with an intent to insult and degrade her. You meet with resistance so you invoke the Bible and morality and people who reject your premise/s are deifying the President and his wife?
No she was not a dancing girl. Her father was the top manager of the Hippodrome. A position equal to those top managers of professional sports teams today. Who are paid millions a year. Byzantines preserved the old Roman sports arenas. But didn’t kill animals and people. Just team sports and horse races. Theodora was a completely respectable upper class woman.
Dancing girl was one of the many Masonic and Protestant lies and slurs against the early medieval era
Theodora’s father was an aristocrat and the top manager of the Hippodrome. It was the built by Roman’s huge sports arena supposedly the biggest arena in the Roman Empire. Her father’s job was equivalent to the managers of the professional sports teams of today. Who are paid millions a year.
Unlike the pagan Roman’s the Byzantines didn’t slaughter people and animals . Sports trans and horse races. Circus just means round. Round building round instead of + intersection. Not the circuses of today Theodora wasn’t a dancer or acrobat. She was an aristocrat member of a very prestige family
The circus dancer myth was a standard enlightenment Masonic Protestant slur against the medieval era.
I KNEW you’d do it, sis. Bless your heart…and I mean that in the most loving way imaginable 😘
She is so perfect…..just look at the understated jewelry to allow the fluidity of the complete ensemble.
You’ve picked up on something I noticed immediately, Catherine. Yes.
No gilding the lily here.
And the opera gloves were perfect.
OMG those gloves…and apparently the matching shoes were the same leather as the gloves.
What a breath of fresh air compared to Dr. Jill and Mooshell. No comparison, not even close!
Why does Camilla carry a purse everywhere?
Remember Ruth Buzzi on Laugh In? Remember what she did with her purse…?
She hit anyone/ everyone who got within 6 ft…😂🤣
Custom. The late Queen Elizabeth was never without her coordinating purse.
Custom of the British Royals. Nothing extraordinary.
for their cigarettes
All the Royal do…various reasons but it not only occupies their hands that might appear awkward in photos , it often prevents endless handshaking and, in some cases, acts as a signal to staff and security. There are articles on how Queen Elizabeth used her handbag very effectively to signal when she was ready to leave, needed something, etc. Princess Catherine also uses her clutch bags as signals…for example, supposedly if she uses both hands to hold her purse it means she doesn’t intends to walk about to shake hands.
It’s also somewhat like the British women wearing hats and gloves…it’s just a tradition.
There are purse women who need various items at hand: lipstick, tissue, mints, comb
If one gets too anxious or bored, they also serve as a diversion to rummage through.
What’s the largest weapon it could hold?
I’m not looking at the pictures in detail as I’m “not in” a serious tornado situation but I’m monitoring the situation on the big screen. Let’s say I’m warning adjacent.
Do I have to explain that again?
You can’t carry a Model 29 S&W in an ankle holster.
I want someone to explain that third course…what the hell is that….Potato Paved Offramps?
With Parsley Oil?
Potato Pave is potatoes in a rich cream sauce….Most common folks call it Scalloped Potatoes….
The Potato Pave actually contains the spring ramps which are a member of the Allium family and they have a garlicky flavor.
Hope that helps Charles…:0)
French trained chef here: quite right, litenmaus. Been a long while since I made food at that level. Excellent choices, probably reflecting personal favorites and any dietary requirements of both Trump and Royal families.
Although… French foods and American wines? I get why, but…. peasants! 😉😇😇☺️
Better than serving British food and American beer?
Ever watched youtube videos of the British trying American food for the first time…funny.
French wines would have complemented well, but it was an “I’m proud to be an American “ kind of day. Honey, Ralph Lauren, California, Oregon wines.
After the scalloped potatoes are baked the pan is chilled for at least 8 hours . So it’s very firm. Then cut in small pieces and the pieces deep fried
Ramps are consider a delicacy and a Spring tonic by us mountain folks. They are a member of the lily family and are the “sweetest tasting and foulest smelling, plant that grows”. They grow at elevations of 1500-4000 feet on moist, wooded slopes. In Northern states this plant is know as wild leek.
Delicious with scrambled eggs.
My Hubby taught me this Cherokee treat.
❤️
Incontinence pads?
Elizabeth did as well.
I read, after she died, that Queen Elizabeth used her purse as a signal. She moved it to signal she wanted to be interrupted when speaking to someone. Maybe Camilla us using the same trick.
Back in the day….the purse, hat, shoes, were the icing on the cake, when deciding your outfit.
English royal women carry purses everywhere to signal to aides. Moving the purses signals to the aides. Elizabeth and her mother did the same
Just like her QEII but it is a clutch, not a handbag. Easy to misplace.
All this is a waste of a good day.
Those clowns didnt do anything to deserve all this other than being born.
Events like State Dinners and the purpose of them are much larger and more symbolic than any of the people who put them on and participate in them. How would you like to see somebody like Joseph Stalin up on the dais? He gets wind of your opinions and next thing you know, you’re gone, and you ain’t coming back. You should learn to appreciate the blessings of liberty in this Republic.
Brings to mind….we should learn the lessons of history and deal with our own Bolsheviks in the same manner.
Charles is a piece of garbage.
Should be on the no-fly list.
Our President Trump & our First Lady Melania Trump will always live in my memories as the best leaders of this time that our Country could ever hope for.
They may not be recognized in history as the True magnificent people they were for us and the world but I will never forget and will make sure my family remember them as well. God Bless America.
Thank you for those special words. What a time to be alive !
🤭
Indeed!
Hmmm … 5 articles on King Charles from Sundance in the past 24 hours. Seems a bit unusual / overkill. I wonder if he wants us to glean something from this or if he is prepping us for something. Enquiring minds want to know?
Let us hope and pray that it is something regarding the further dissolution of 5Eyes and the City of London, which would be quite the blow to the royals.
The sooner we are free of that spider web, the better.
Honestly, I have not heard King Charles ‘speak’ before, as I didn’t bother.
Why should I listen to what he has to say?
Today, I did take the time to listen to his presentation (prepared speech) — and — I was surprised.
King Charles is an eloquent speaker. His diction, and timing while speaking — is polished & impeccable.
Do I like the guy? No, although I will give him credit for being a great speaker.
Honestly, a very smooth speech.
Did he really mean (believe) all those glowing words he proclaimed? Probably not.
Still, he was pleasant to listen to.
He has a fabulous sense of humor. I once watched him appear as the guest weatherman on the news to deliver the weather report, and it was a laugh out loud presentation.
He made me laugh a couple of times…he said and I paraphrase…”if it wasn’t for the British colonizing us we would all now be speaking French!”
The white house remodeling by the British in 1812 was cute.
interesting since it was the French who assisted in our quest to eliminate the British
Yeah, well, there’s nothing funny about the U.K. becoming an Islam stronghold.
His mother had a wry sense of humor. I still recall the vignette she did with Daniel Craig (as 007) for the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games. She rolled with it pretty well.
KC and Obama are the same. They can both read a teleprompter to perfection. Their manners are superb. They dress well. And there is nothing upstairs.
Charles the Last was flexing today like Dumbo.
Camilla was looking for silverware to bag.
How do you know when the Brits aren’t preening or stealing?
When the sand runs out of their hourglasses.
One other thought — the Rev War series on PBS, though per usual, tilted left, noted Brit officers weren’t satisfied with issue scarlet coats …. they had their coats died vermillion — a dye made from the very dangerous mining of mercury ore, and the continued grounding of that ore by little people who would die of the toxicity. It was very expensive.
The higher officers were preening in vermillion — a loud red-orange. It made them stand out, like the shade of cocktail dress an “escort” would wear at an event full of rich donors.
They whined when it made it easier for our men to locate them and shoot them. Or bayonet them.
Our George — Mr. Washington, was content to wear the dark blue and tan of a Continental soldier from New York or New Jersey. When they could get them, the Patriots of New England wore blue and white. and those of PA and the southern states wore blue and red. Of course many poor shivering devils had to wear whatever they could scrounge because the states’ governments did not provide anywhere near enough help.
Washington, partly out of the need to save money, and also to promote comfort and hygiene, allowed hunting shirts for the men when the weather got warm enough.
Washington himself wore simple black when not in uniform. Andrew Jackson, and later Johnny Cash would take their cues from this truly great George, who knelt before God but not before King or the crooks of Parliament who bade King to send troops to attack, burn, and rape our people .. and try to strangle our nation in its crib.
A nation whose rights flowed from a just and merciful God, not a government, was a radical notion in the 1700s. It is still a radical notion today. May we do our part to pass on such a wonderful gift to succeeding generations until Judgment Day!
Such a wonderful summary of a turbulent time and we shall not forget.
I loaned some very good books about the Revolutionary war to relatives just to remind them and I definitely want all of them back; John Adams, the Indispensibles, and 1776 to name a few.
Hopefully this year many families will enjoy the many historical sites and become immersed in our rich history.
Thank you, GoldSister.
One other thought — the French leaders who helped us sadly came to some hard, and in some cases, tragic ends.
Jefferson had to intercede for Lafayette.
Admiral De Grasse, whose fleet cut off the Brit fleet in Chesapeake Bay so Washington could win at Yorktown, lost a sea battle some months later and was a captive of the Brits until after they signed the treaty of Paris with us. He died a few years later.
General Rochambeau, who led the actual victorious siege tactics at Yorktown, still had field command for the French in 1792, when he lost a battle. He resigned, saying a man his age (mid 60s) should be replaced by a younger man who would likely be in better shape to command. He was imprisoned during the Reign of Terror and only the overthrow of Robespierre and the other thieves and murderers saved his life.
As for General D’Estaing, who landed troops in Rhode Island to help us, and who fought with us at Savannah and at Charleston, he wasn’t so lucky. He retired, and supported the Revolution. However, he had the integrity to appear as a character witness for Marie Antoinette when she was on trial for her life and was falsely accused of sx abuse of her son the crown prince. He would be arrested and executed during the Reign of Terror.
The Jackal Jacobins also executed our ally Louis XVI. Louisville is named for him.
Ironically and sadly, the last people murdered by the Reign of Terror before the overthrow of Robespierre and his associates were the Carmelite Sisters of Compeigne. They went to the guillotine and sang until the blade silenced the last of the Sisters. Compeigne was the town whose bribed mayor arranged for the capture of Joan of Arc.
The Brits and their French lackeys murdered Joan on May 30, 1431. Her day of martyrdom was the day we used to commemorate Memorial Day. Then Nixon and Congress changed it to a floating holiday and devalued it. Joan was a veteran who died painfully for her people too.
All gave some, and some painfully gave all.
Great points in French history and they did suffer. The French Revolution is a stain on humanity and the Reign of Terror was a bloodthirsty hell on earth.
Joan d’Arc is my favorite saint and was a true martyr who died defending her faith and country.
The French helped us defeat the British and they were also protecting their interests in the New World.
Louisbourg in Nova Scotia points to France’s early footprints in New France, and the clashing with the British for control of the New World, its colonies and natural resources.
Fascinating stuff and you paint a true picture of what our forefathers had to endure.
Of interesting note is the blue came from indigo, which by that point was produced in the colonies, so less expensive, and the red was a common dye called ‘Turkey red’ made from the common, and inexpensive, madder root.
Both of which (along with the butternut of the rank and file) were available to most Americans, and are relatively safe for anyone to produce in their backyards (along with the golden color, which can be produced by most flowers, marigolds in particular).
Even the green used by some American units is easily produced (and safely) by overdying a yellow material with indigo, or adding copper (such as using a copper dye pot).
Just think how the Revolution would have turned out if that British soldier that had Gen. Washington clean in his sights at the Battle of Monmouth would have taken that shot.
Thank you for this comment. I was fortunate enough to live about 1 mile from Valley Forge. Visited it all the time, especially during the winters, and tried to imagine how it was for our soldiers during the winter. I was also honored and was able to participate in our Bi-centennial celebrations at Valley Forge. Unforgettable experience as I made authentic clothing for myself and my two year old son as we participated. It was a great way to introduce my son to our true history and this helped him to become interested in our countries history and he still shows that interest to this day.
Charles is also head of the Order of the Garter, which is said to have connections to the occult.
Wouldn’t surprise me.
The Nazis were heavily into the occult.
So were many of the elites before WWI and after WWI.
That led to the naked worship of power and self, and to wholesale debauchery among the elites of Europe.
When you seek the demons, you choose to say and do hideous things under their influence.
Wouldn’t surprise me.

Margaret Sanger was a Rosecrucian. After her 5 year old died in the States while she was having affairs across the pond in England and meeting up with other eugenecists, she came back and got heavily involved with it.
Gloria Steinem who pushed abortion is/was a Theosophist. Her mother and she attended meetings during her childhood and she remained one.
Not surprising that alot of these women who mainstreamed the idea that mothers aborting their babies was nothing more than getting a hangnail removed were into the occult.
I need a dictionary to get thru that menu.
The Queen reminds me of Jilly.
Our Founders created a Republic.
So many media hack guests, didn’t see Rand Paul on the political list, is he whining somewhere he wasn’t invited?
Cool story about the bell, nice gift. King Chuck didn’t do too bad of delivery considering his stuffiness, globalism, and illness
.
I love that Stephen Miller’s wife takes his last name.
A woman from church is a Brit, lives here, goes back to UK three times a year, she was commenting how the UK just isn’t the same anymore. I just nodded my head and politely smiled.
Honey used from the WH bee hives, Leave.
One landed on President Trump’s hand.
heh heh
So darn cute…now he can even harness the bees1
To me, that photo with the bee on his hand says a lot! He is so relaxed and in control – just like the other night.
Look at Melania’s reaction. Lol. My mom had a dictionary she dropped on every bug that had the misfortune of crawling or flying around her house. THUD
I save the bees and everything else, except for spiders. My expression looks a lot like Melania’s whenever my husband picks up a spider and takes it outside.
My husband is a beekeep.
I love the fact we have bees, even though neither of us likes honey.
What I’ve always been wary of is people who are so freaked out by bees that they kill them for no reason.
One little girl just looked for bees to stomp on, and her mother thought it was so cute she sat and laughed.
My dad showed his daughters how to pet a bumblebee when we were young. He was a tenderhearted loving man, if not a little quirky.
And now as an old lady I am like President Trump in the photo above; I have no problem with bees landing on me, but I do my best to stay at arms length from wasps and hornets.
So you saw it as well…👍🏻
Is ..that.. the Babylon Bee 😅
Must be…
Yes the bell from the USS Trump submarine was really special. President Trump seemed genuinely touched and grateful.
HMS Trump. It was a British ship, right?
You are right it was British and it was a submarine. I should have used HMS….thank you for the correction.
https://nypost.com/2026/04/28/us-news/king-charles-iii-gifts-president-a-bell-from-hms-trump-during-white-house-state-dinner/
PDJT, if had been thinking…or known ahead of time…
…could have exchanged bells…the bell from the SS United States….the ship which massacred the trans Atlantic record held by The Queen Mary, by more than 10 hours…for The Blue Riband….
Such a fascinating tidbit of history and it would have been quite an exchange !
I’d have given Charles the Last a picture of the Bonhomme Richard.
And Andrew Jackson and his crew of billies, pirates, Cajuns, and free blacks at New Orleans.
Entertainment…I have to ask:
Is Nessun Dorma on the list? It was sung at the WH state dinner on November 19, 2025 and is a favorite of PDJT.
I was thinking they should have invited Kid Rock – and seated him next to Camilla.
Greg Gutfield & wife were there….
Like Kiss invading the personal space of Communist ice princess Katerina Witt. Hilarious!
I am puzzled, a little.
I don’t remember seeing an article here, before now, with a complete menu and a complete roster of the guests.
Is there something odd about who was invited, or what they are having for supper?
It sounds like a very nice meal for a lot of important people.
Me, either!
I didn’t see any Dem Congress Critters on tne guest list 😂
Insaw several SCOTUS justices on the list, but none of the 3 Commie Dems 🥳
I DID see lots of Fox News personalities on tne list 😎
Interesting…..
Why should President Trump invite any of the Democrats to his dinner party? All they do is to try to destroy his life and his family. Or perhaps they are in another dining room down the hall that is set up with a big screen TV. lol
In any case, they probably wouldn’t pass the security clearance screening at this point, which is hopefully more rigorous than the past in order to gain access to the White House.
Regarding the guest list…
Who would I wish to be seated next to…
Without question Justice Clarence Thomas.
Me too, Betsy. But having just finished the first two volumes of James Rosen’s biography – if he were still alive, I’d say Justice Scalia. That man was an intellectual force of nature. It was never really the Rehnquist Court; it was the Scalia Court.
A few years ago, I contrived what I’d call a “Fantasy Dinner Party List”, limited to 8 guests as I have always preferred intimate, convivial gatherings in actuality. The conversations can be stimulating, even robust.
The guests could be personages historical or present, political or otherwise; and I was forever altering that list as the mood took me.
I haven’t thought about this little mental exercise in a long time, dear sir. But now that you’ve mentioned him, yes!! I’d have to reserve a place for that very much missed man of wisdom and constitutional jurisprudence. His absence is certainly felt.
Scalia the genius, whose answer regarding the right of secession was:
“If there was any constitutional issue resolved by the Civil War, it is that there is no right to secede.”
Quite the dodge. “Gee, I don’t care if the power of secession wasn’t prohibited to the States by the Constitution, and thus a power reserved to the States. We won, so, nanny nanny boo boo.”
Just think of how the USSC would with Thomas, Scalia and Robert Bork.
Great choice and since I can’t say the same person, I would love to chat with Stephen Miller.
A true blue red blooded patriot with a brilliant mind. He knows where to take this country and counter the evil within.
That picture of him shielding his terrified pregnant wife at the WHC dinner was heart wrenching.
Quite an extraordinary young man.
Of course the media have framed his gallantry as using his wife as a human shield.
But then they would, wouldn’t they…
Good choice.
They can’t have men who actually want to protect women now can they?
Their narrative wants to keep men and women apart, no affection allowed and keep driving down birth rates. Men have taken a lot of crap over the years and they still want to be courageous and strong. God is still working his magic and will not be mocked.
Good choice Betsy. To avoid going hungry, Justice Thomas would have already eaten a triple cheeseburger and chili cheese fries before arriving so he could politely pick at his dinner while answering questions and engaging in polite conversation. Don’t ask me how I know.
Hahahahahaaaaaaa!!! 😁
Betsy, your post inspired me to look at the guest list again. I have to say I was hard pressed to find someone I would want to be committed to sitting next to that I would have to talk with exclusively the entire evening. Due to the large centerpieces it looks like one is restricted to talking only to the person immediately to the left or right. I never understood why the Elite have always set up their banquet tables this way. I suppose it affords for more intimate conversation and in the olden days was a way they could potentially set up their indiscretions for later. Of note, one of the news commentators said they had split up the couples tonight. I would feel very uncomfortable with that.
Perhaps Marco Rubio and his wife would be interesting to talk to. Knowing my luck however, I would probably have drawn a seat next to John Thune. It’s hard to imagine much that would be more unpleasant than that. In such a situation perhaps the thing to do would be to witness to him the entire evening.
In any case, just being in the same room with the POTUS and Melania would be exciting enough, so I would endure whatever discomfort I felt and relish the time.
Constructing a seating list for an occasion of this magnitude would be on par with planning the most intricate military operation. Probably even more so than selecting who would be included in the evening’s gathering. I’m sure an invitation to this historical banquet was much sought after, and many who may have thought they’d be included were mightily disappointed…and perhaps even shocked…to find they were not.
Splitting couples up is actually de rigeur, JS.
Just imagine when they reunite in private later what stories they’ll share 😉
Saw “the Bret Baer” on the list. You may recall, that’s what Trump called him during the first campaign for POTUS.
So I’m thinking OK he’ll behave fine at a state diner but there’s no way they let Gutfeld in.
Then I did a quick ctrl-f and I’ll be dang’d! They let that critter in with the fancy folks!
We’re celebrating 250 years of getting rid of those creeps ! I have zero respect for the British monarchy and the parasitic country they represent ! We’re here talking about getting rid of the City of London influence. I really don’t like the fact that our President is giving the honor of a state dinner to some of the least deserving of our respect. Personally I’d like to tell them they’re not welcome here in the United States. These are the people our founding fathers fought against to win our freedom. Many died ! This is the monarchy that burned our capital to the ground ! They’ve suckered us into believing that they are our best friends and we’ve saved them twice at the cost of over a half million casualties. This is the monarchy that consents to the great replacement of the British people. They’ve sucked us king just this year celebrated Islam and not the Christian Easter ! I find them revolting !
Spot on. The UK gubmint was never our friend.
I’ve already finished dinner, and yet I got hungry all over again just reading the menu descriptions. 🙂
J
Bangers and mash on the menu?
were it not for PT and Melania being in attendance,
i would have suggested the following –
appetizer: glacéed algae cakes
entree: slow roasted Corvus
beverage: a robust yet insouciant sparkling hooch brewed from rainwater and maize 🤣
With a nice chicken tartare.
Should be Plaice and chips…..
That ballroom must be built.
Its embarrassing seeing how crammed they are in this space. Both PDJT and KC3 were smashed against that back wall as they delivered their remarks.
To many FNC individuals on that list of attendees and some who have the Honorable label attached to their names are far from Honorable and shouldn’t be there.
That is always in my mind re the “Honorable” label… there is very little ‘honorable’ about many of these folks.
No one made any comment about using the Bush and Clinton china settings? I had to LAUGH OUT LOUD over that one. I bet Charles and Camilla feasted much from the Bush and Clinton “service” in their days. Let it be the last pass.
I think it was an article on Fox that did mention a “White House service” in regards to the table decor.
I googled all the dishes. They all look and sound mouth-watering. The Potato Pavé was described as tater tots on steroids; I think I might attempt them one day. The velouté was probably in soup form, and the sole sounds simple and delicious. The first lady was beautiful; I loved her dress. The only slight disappointment was that the lilacs were not purple. Also, ramps are an okay dish, but very cool because you harvest them in the wild. I remember them as a breakfast side in WV.
ah, but the common white lilac, which those look to be,
has an intense perfume that is absolutely intoxicating.
the common purple fragrance (and later cultivars) just can’t compare!
JMO, of course.😁
I did not know that, thank you.
Jesse Watters got invited, losing respect for Jesse…
I didn’t see anybody from Promethean Action on that guest list.
I’m sure Susan shed a tear…
Apparently Trump has said something to the effect that the American War of Independence was not a rejection of British heritage but an attempt to reclaim and perfect it.
Umm.. you guys have cloned the ways of the British Empire. I guess the reclaiming has been done around the time WW2 ended and the perfection is a work in progress for the last 8 decades and counting
Susan Kokinda..how is she going to react to that ??
He was right. At the time of the revolution, the Founders all considered themselves Englishmen. They revolted because they discerned that their rights as Englishmen were being denied. After repeated petitions to the King to redress their grievances, they were left with no choice but to throw off their Englishness and become Americans. But Americans with Natural Rights engraved in a Constitution. None of this is new, and what President Trump said was entirely correct. So what are you talking about?
I am pretty clear with my post. I specifically mentioned about the US taking over from the British Empire at the end of WW2 and cloning the ways of the former Empire for the next 80 years and counting
Unless of course the British Empire’s global status and the ways and means to keep that status was always the role model that the US aspired to and agreed with.
However in that case, there isn’t much of a difference between the British Empire and the US..whereas Susan Kokinda ( from Promethean action ) claims that Trump is fighting the British Empire.
Not all of us agree with the actions which led us to this; many of us wish for some return back to our founding, as it has not been beneficial for our people or the world.
We don’t want the filthy Empire; we want our country given back to us.
Your remarks “I am pretty clear with my post. I specifically mentioned (cloning) ..
the ways of the (former) ..
(followed by)
“UNLESS OF COURSE the British Empire’s global status and the ways and means to keep that status was always the role model that the US aspired to and agreed with” Agreed with former? Which is which?
As for “”However in that case, there isn’t much of a difference between the British Empire and the US.””
United States share historical roots and strategic interests.
There IS a FUNDAMENTAL difference in their mechanisms of global dominance.
The British Empire relied on PHYSICAL TERRITORIAL CONTROL, DIRECT COLONIAL ADMINISTRATION, AND THE ACQUISITION OF LAND, whereas the United States EXERCISES INFLUENCE PRIMARILY THROUGH ECONOMIC POWER, MILITARY ALLIANCES, AND THE CONTROL OF INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AND TECHNOLOGY.
The British Empire’s status was maintained through “Pax Britannica,” characterized by unchallenged naval supremacy and the direct rule of approximately 25% of the world’s landmass.
Scholars argue that the U.S. adopted elements of the British imperial playbook to maintain the UK as a peripheral elite in the “special relationship,” the U.S. system is distinguished by its focus on open markets and ideological alignment rather than formal sovereignty over subject populations.
In contrast to “Pax Britannica”; the U.S. emerged as a global hegemon after World War II, not by establishing formal colonies, but by creating a network of informal empire through financial institutions, military bases, and cultural influence.
Note this fact :
This shift allowed the U.S. to achieve global reach without the administrative and financial burdens that eventually led to the British Empire’s decline.
Trump is reversing and restoring what previous administrations steering towards the same demise; which I will coin as “The East US Company”
🙄
Many could argue that our revolution was not a revolt against the law, the Magna Carta, but to uphold it. Something that even then Britain was conveniently ‘forgetting’ as it became imperial. Getting back to our roots would be good and instructive.
This is just once more that I count my blessings. The life of a nobody is so precious I would not trade one minute of mine.
I know you’re referring to the menu in this case. However, considering all the “truths” we’ve learned about I can’t count how many times in the last few years I’ve thanked God I’m a nobody.
Perfectly content sittin’ over here in my lil corner of the world.
Reminds me of the “Nobody” poem( not the title) by Emily Dickinson.
I despise the very idea of royalty.
The British LOVE their Royals!
Did I miss The Honorable Sundance on that list?
How do you like your steak?
Next to my other steak.
Oooooph.
I would place Melania’s gown tonight up there with that iconic blue confection she wore at President Trump’s first inauguration.
She was the picture of serenity and peace tonight, more so than we’ve seen her of late, and this following the horrors she experienced a few nights ago.
Also sitting there was Camilla, actually looking prettier than I’ve ever seen her. She’s learned how to blend in.
That blue number was another stunning Ralph Lauren iconic dress.
She looked fabulous that historical day January 20, 2017.
Camilla is well…Camilla ….and she is trying.
The King mentioned this in his speech tonight: “Keep Calm and Carry On”
“Keep Calm and Carry On” was a 1939 British Ministry of Information propaganda poster created to boost civilian morale at the start of WWII. It was meant for crisis situations, never officially released, and mostly destroyed, only to be rediscovered in 2000 and become a global cultural phenomenon.
Yes, the ballroom is needed.
King Charles looks to have as many marbles as President Auto-pen
And here, I thought the very same thing. Our couple of years older President has lots more stamina and spark!
Hard to imagine Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld at a State Dinner but they were invites and I saw Watters there.
I guess no invites went out to the 3 progs on Scotus.
What a load of old horse feathers¡
What makes some of these more “honourable” than others?
Anyway, I stopped reading when I got to Rory McIlroy and wife.
Just wondering about Miss Lindsey being on the guest list. What is President Trump’s deep connection to this horrible man?
Many of us in SC want to be rid of him yet the President endorsed him. I will be voting for Mark Lynch in the primary.
.
The pinnacle of ostentatiousness.
Is it mainly women who covet such conspicuous social displays flaunting wealth and power?
Ironic that the current declining hegemon invited the geriatric royal peacocks of the previous hegemon that spawned it to a swan song myopically exalting the finery and self-indulgent delicacies together.
All hollow facade.
While the rising hegemon-to-be in the East works nonstop on its real power: Industry powered by science.
One pattern stands out: A stream of distractions from the global shift underway sinking the West while the East rises. Thank you CTH for aiding this very important function, whether you are funded by Mockingbird or not.
A rather interesting guest list. Sadly, it appears that Nora O’Donnell was not invited.
Saw the video this morning of the “No Kings” democrats in Congress giving a rousing, lengthy round of applause for “King” Charles.
what an elegant and lovely dinner
certainly a compliment to the US
we can do class! At least the President Trump administration can
especially as those in Europe like to make fun of us
for our burger and fries
nice to see
“Mr. Eric Trump and Mrs. Lara Trump
• The Honorable Ivanka Trump and The Honorable Jared Kushner”
why are Ivanka and Jared “the Honorable”?
In the U.S., the title is automatically afforded to presidential appointees, Cabinet members, and various high-ranking officials. Once an individual has held a position that carries the title, it is customary for them to retain the use for the remainder of their lifetime, provided they left office in good standing. Ivanka served as an Assistant to the President, and Kushner served as a Senior Advisor to the President.
Very nice to see our President lend a hand to the King to exit off the stage. And what a very cool gift from King Charles! Thank you! Excellent speeches as well.
Did PDJT ask anything about the recent trips to the UK by Obama and Brennan?
Fox News sure had a good representation. Christopher Ruddy from Newsmax was there. I didn’t recognize any other media. Why did they use Tiffany Trump instead of her married name? Just wondering.
A monarch from an inbred royal family visited America-supposedly a constitutional republic-and the collective political/media establishment lost their minds.
The king gave a speech to Congress, and the No Kings Democrats wet themselves cheering for the king, acting like a bunch of teenagers at a Beatles concert.
The fawning and obsequiousness demonstrated by everyone in the political/media establishment was gross and repugnant.
My sincere hope is that, in the future, the monarchs stay on their own side of the pond and that we never again have to endure another state visit.
It is because
members of Congress are hypocrites.
One day drmocrat/ communists protest “No Kings”, the next they give a king visiting our country a standing ovation.
And to think I had backed chicken! 😂
