Lush garden greens are complemented by accents of gold and white. The tables are set with more than 250 pieces of vermeil from the White House collection, alongside hand-crafted ceramics by distinguished American artisans, including Ben Wolff. I had a rare burger for dinner that I wouldn’t trade for a seat at any of those tables.
I don’t eat mine rare, but I’d rather have the burger, too!
All of that food is too rich. And velouté is a sauce. So it’s veggies with sauce on. Cool.
The snow peas sound good; better if they were next to a good steak.
Medium rare for me!
Glad to hear they used herbs for the salad from the WH kitchen garden ❤️🤗
I right there with you eating my bacon fries with cheese and ranch dressing.
Texas sweet tea to wash it down.
Had a BLT and pasta salad for dinner and loved it!
No Big Macs or French Fries?
Or yummy Schumerburgers.
I guess the king doesn’t like a big Mac will give him pizza 👍😎🤣
Sacre’ bleu !!!
President Trump is the perfect President to celebrate 250 years… I cannot even remotely imagine the tangled word salad nonsense from the kneeler in chief if she had been drug across the finish line and foisted upon us. God is good.
Amen
WOW ! What an astounding elegant beautiful gown that our Beautiful First Lady Melania is wearing ❣️
A Queen of quiet elegance, grace, beauty and womanhood in her own right.
That gown!!!!!!
I totally agree and she may have surpassed Jacqueline K in that Dior gown…wowza!
Blessings to our First Lady and may she inspire all women, with her powerful femininity.
A small article in the Daily Mail making the same comparison, Sis.
https://www.dailymail.com/lifestyle/fashion/article-15772759/melania-trump-dress-donald-state-dinner-king-charles-queen-camilla.html
Thanks bunches BJ for that link…rarely read the Daily Mail and find it astounding they wrote an article so favorable to our First Lady. The dress is very Haute Couture and not for the faint of heart, but perfect for this high level occasion.
P.S. Ralph Lauren cream suit this morning was also fabulous, but I digress.
How glorious that the Season of Bedspreads, Parlour Curtains and Sofa Covers has seen its day 😎
I’ve never seen her look anything but elegant and beautiful. She’s the epitome of pure class imo.
Why does Camilla carry a purse everywhere?
Remember Ruth Buzzi on Laugh In? Remember what she did with her purse…?
Custom. The late Queen Elizabeth was never without her coordinating purse.
Custom of the British Royals. Nothing extraordinary.
All the Royal do…various reasons but it not only occupies their hands that might appear awkward in photos , it often prevents endless handshaking and, in some cases, acts as a signal to staff and security. There are articles on how Queen Elizabeth used her handbag very effectively to signal when she was ready to leave, needed something, etc. Princess Catherine also uses her clutch bags as signals…for example, supposedly if she uses both hands to hold her purse it means she doesn’t intends to walk about to shake hands.
It’s also somewhat like the British women wearing hats and gloves…it’s just a tradition.
There are purse women who need various items at hand: lipstick, tissue, mints, comb
If one gets too anxious or bored, they also serve as a diversion to rummage through.
What’s the largest weapon it could hold?
I’m not looking at the pictures in detail as I’m “not in” a serious tornado situation but I’m monitoring the situation on the big screen. Let’s say I’m warning adjacent.
Do I have to explain that again?
You can’t carry a Model 29 S&W in an ankle holster.
I want someone to explain that third course…what the hell is that….Potato Paved Offramps?
With Parsley Oil?
All this is a waste of a good day.
Those clowns didnt do anything to deserve all this other than being born.
Our President Trump & our First Lady Melania Trump will always live in my memories as the best leaders of this time that our Country could ever hope for.
They may not be recognized in history as the True magnificent people they were for us and the world but I will never forget and will make sure my family remember them as well. God Bless America.
Thank you for those special words. What a time to be alive !
Hmmm … 5 articles on King Charles from Sundance in the past 24 hours. Seems a bit unusual / overkill. I wonder if he wants us to glean something from this or if he is prepping us for something. Enquiring minds want to know?
Honestly, I have not heard King Charles ‘speak’ before, as I didn’t bother.
Why should I listen to what he has to say?
Today, I did take the time to listen to his presentation (prepared speech) — and — I was surprised.
King Charles is an eloquent speaker. His diction, and timing while speaking — is polished & impeccable.
Do I like the guy? No, although I will give him credit for being a great speaker.
Honestly, a very smooth speech.
Did he really mean (believe) all those glowing words he proclaimed? Probably not.
Still, he was pleasant to listen to.
He has a fabulous sense of humor. I once watched him appear as the guest weatherman on the news to deliver the weather report, and it was a laugh out loud presentation.
Charles the Last was flexing today like Dumbo.
Camilla was looking for silverware to bag.
How do you know when the Brits aren’t preening or stealing?
When the sand runs out of their hourglasses.
One other thought — the Rev War series on PBS, though per usual, tilted left, noted Brit officers weren’t satisfied with issue scarlet coats …. they had their coats died vermillion — a dye made from the very dangerous mining of mercury ore, and the continued grounding of that ore by little people who would die of the toxicity. It was very expensive.
The higher officers were preening in vermillion — a loud red-orange. It made them stand out, like the shade of cocktail dress an “escort” would wear at an event full of rich donors.
They whined when it made it easier for our men to locate them and shoot them. Or bayonet them.
Our George — Mr. Washington, was content to wear the dark blue and tan of a Continental soldier from New York or New Jersey. When they could get them, the Patriots of New England wore blue and white. and those of PA and the southern states wore blue and red. Of course many poor shivering devils had to wear whatever they could scrounge because the states’ governments did not provide anywhere near enough help.
Washington, partly out of the need to save money, and also to promote comfort and hygiene, allowed hunting shirts for the men when the weather got warm enough.
Washington himself wore simple black when not in uniform. Andrew Jackson, and later Johnny Cash would take their cues from this truly great George, who knelt before God but not before King or the crooks of Parliament who bade King to send troops to attack, burn, and rape our people .. and try to strangle our nation in its crib.
A nation whose rights flowed from a just and merciful God, not a government, was a radical notion in the 1700s. It is still a radical notion today. May we do our part to pass on such a wonderful gift to succeeding generations until Judgment Day!
Such a wonderful summary of a turbulent time and we shall not forget.
I loaned some very good books about the Revolutionary war to relatives just to remind them and I definitely want all of them back; John Adams, the Indispensibles, and 1776 to name a few.
Hopefully this year many families will enjoy the many historical sites and become immersed in our rich history.
I need a dictionary to get thru that menu.
The Queen reminds me of Jilly.
Our Founders created a Republic.
So many media hack guests, didn’t see Rand Paul on the political list, is he whining somewhere he wasn’t invited?
Cool story about the bell, nice gift. King Chuck didn’t do too bad of delivery considering his stuffiness, globalism, and illness
.
I love that Stephen Miller’s wife takes his last name.
A woman from church is a Brit, lives here, goes back to UK three times a year, she was commenting how the UK just isn’t the same anymore. I just nodded my head and politely smiled.
Entertainment…I have to ask:
Is Nessun Dorma on the list? It was sung at the WH state dinner on November 19, 2025 and is a favorite of PDJT.
I was thinking they should have invited Kid Rock – and seated him next to Camilla.
I am puzzled, a little.
I don’t remember seeing an article here, before now, with a complete menu and a complete roster of the guests.
Is there something odd about who was invited, or what they are having for supper?
It sounds like a very nice meal for a lot of important people.
I didn’t see any Dem Congress Critters on tne guest list 😂
Insaw several SCOTUS justices on the list, but none of the 3 Commie Dems 🥳
I DID see lots of Fox News personalities on tne list 😎
Interesting…..
Regarding the guest list…
Who would I wish to be seated next to…
Without question Justice Clarence Thomas.
Me too, Betsy. But having just finished the first two volumes of James Rosen’s biography – if he were still alive, I’d say Justice Scalia. That man was an intellectual force of nature. It was never really the Rehnquist Court; it was the Scalia Court.
Saw “the Bret Baer” on the list. You may recall, that’s what Trump called him during the first campaign for POTUS.
So I’m thinking OK he’ll behave fine at a state diner but there’s no way they let Gutfeld in.
Then I did a quick ctrl-f and I’ll be dang’d! They let that critter in with the fancy folks!
I’ve already finished dinner, and yet I got hungry all over again just reading the menu descriptions. 🙂
J
Bangers and mash on the menu?
That ballroom must be built.
Its embarrassing seeing how crammed they are in this space. Both PDJT and KC3 were smashed against that back wall as they delivered their remarks.
To many FNC individuals on that list of attendees and some who have the Honorable label attached to their names are far from Honorable and shouldn’t be there.
