The New King James works for me. The Old King James is like reading Shakespeare!
It is always funny how these people scribble all over the prior message. And then claim they promote clarity.
Anybody who has ever translated knows that word for word accuracy actually destroys many intended messages.
Poetry, idioms, all get lost. Things get completely taken out of cultural context. And that is just translating between two different current cultures with two different languages.
The KJV was many things.
It was a political tool of control. They needed to get rid of the Geneva version with its margin notes that were used to attack the English Church and the English Kings. And they sucked up to the king by changing NT Jacob to James. Apostles, including the Gospel author, Jesus’ brother, those names were changed. And it became the only version that could be printed in England and thereby became the version used in America.
It was an attempt to restore accuracy. The very first English Bible was a translation from a very corrupted Vulgate. Things had improved, but could still be better. The translators strived to look at all available resources. But we have many more and much better resources now. So newer translations can be better still.
It was also an attempt to beautify the translation. Those who liken it to Shakespeare are not wrong. ‘Girl get up’ is crude ‘Damsel arise’ is art. https://biblehub.com/mark/5-41.htm This is a big reason why the KJV has been an integral part of our cultural heritage. These beautiful phrases are interspersed throughout English Literature and used to be commonly understood as biblical references. We have lost that because the Bible is no longer a common experience.
But that does beg the question. If we have lost the art behind these Old and New Testament words, is it a blasphemy to impose a modern artistic sense upon them?
But it is also outdated. That Holy Ghost VS Holy Spirit argument above, is all because the meanings changed. There was nothing wrong with writing Holy Ghost in the early 17th century. But the meaning changed. Ghost has become more paranormal. So people now take issue with reading Holy Ghost.
So, reading any Bible is better than not reading one at all. Find one you can be comfortable reading. One read in your church helps.
But be careful. Some modern versions are literally by leftists changing the Bible to fit their will.
That site linked above can be used to compare individual verses as printed in many bible translations. I’ve lost the other one I liked better. But this is still very useful.

The original author, HMM III is the founder of the Institute for Creation Research. ICR.org Henry M. Morris III. He passed away in 2006.
He is the person who used the KJV for these devotionals. His successors put out these devotionals altered with their edits, based on different translations. Sometimes they even put their initials on the changes. But not on today’s. They are the ones with a bias against the KJV.
Every now and then one does mention the ICR and lists the initials of the contributors. With difficulty, you can find info on the site. https://store.icr.org/brands/dr-henry-morris/ But I have not found the devotional there. There is a sign up though. I won’t bother signing up just to check.
I can see both sides. I have been in a KJV only community. Now I realize it has flaws. I have tried to explain the good and the bad of the KJV. But most other translations have flaws too.
The biggest problem I have read the editors harping on has to do with the nature and roles of the Trinity. Big subject. Beyond my ability to claim who is right. The complainers do not like the KJV wording nor do they like HMM’s statements backed up by the KJV.
When I first saw these edits, I appreciated that someone was showing modifications over time. Very honest. But then I realized that it was others criticizing their predecessor. And frankly, they divert from understanding the message and the scriptures to understanding their feud.
And I find it amusing that today, they are adding to and taking away from God’s Words while quoting a Scripture that says that should not be done.

That BlueLetterBible site looks like it has many valuable resources. I do not believe that any translation is inerrant but they do claim the Scriptures are inerrant. Not that that is a problem. Well, while I am not bothered by them, they might be bothered by me.
I have many questions. For instance many people try to pin down the biblical stories with archeology, but things never quite line up. There are though quite a few similarities. Did someone put together remembered real world events into a new narrative?
But I also doubt many of the current idiocies science uses to claim it was not written at all until after captivity in Babylon. But since the Dead Sea Scrolls are the oldest preserved versions we have, there is no way to know what the Scriptures looked like to Samson, or to David, or to Jeremiah. We don’t even have the version Ezra imposed on Jerusalem after captivity with power granted from the King of Persia. See Ezra and Nehemiah.

Worse still, they decided to change your cells so that your immune system will attack those cells.

And now they roll out more without testing anything. All so that we could force worthless vaccines upon the people.
I do not know if President Trump will ever grasp the enormity of what he helped facilitate. Once you are invested in accomplishing something seen as heroic, it is really hard to admit it was actually something monstrous that you were manipulated into assisting. Even after it is clear that the entire thing was used against you to stop your reelection.

The last day of the first week (as I recall) the CDC mentioned Trump by name. With their counsel, knowing the threat was incoming from China, POTUS closed down some Western Airports (SF specifically if I recall), at which time the MSM press went ballistic and the Left’s new narrative and attack for the next 6-months was that Trump was “Xenophobic.”

This is my opinion, and I haven’t seen it anywhere else.
But I get the impression that Trump needs some time to set up the next step.
I think he had to change something in his plans, and now needs a couple of weeks to rearrange things to get them into place for the next step.
So this ceasefire and peace talks is a convenient way to do that.
If so, then these talks are just a show to distract from what else he is doing.
I may be wrong, but I think this would fit in with everything currently, as well as with how he has acted in other things.
And to be fair, I am often overly optimistic on the topic of Iran, so perhaps this is a bit of my optimism (??). But it sounds likely to me.

You may recall the press was saying it would take a year for Saudi Arabia to run a pipe line that allows them to ship oil without out using Hormuz. Thanks to help from the US War Dept the line is completed today, which was done by converting gas lines to oil lines and using offshore loading (no docks).
This will allow them to pump 7 million barrels per day which is about 7% of the world’s oil and will drop the price of oil by about $20-$30 a barrel. This in turn turn will allow Trump to blockade Hormuz and starve the Iranian military without causing a world depression.

About 20% of the global oil passes the Strait. That is about 18-20 million barrels per day.
The Saudis already have a bypass pipeline that is the East-West Pipeline. Capacity is 5-7 million barrels a day.
This is not new.
UAE has a Pipeline too. Not very significant.
The total bypass capacity is 6-8 million barrels a day.
The blockade is still a major impact on the flow of oil. Prices will spike.
Converting a gas line to oil line is not a quick project. Gas and oil pipelines are not easily interchangeable, it takes major engineering and time.
The pipeline was attacked by Iran about a week ago and to the best of my knowledge was just repaired which may be where this data comes from. But this is the old pipeline which does produce some 7 million barrels a day – not all of it is export but most.

Saudi Arabia routes 7 million bpd through Yanbu, covering 80-85% of pre-war exports. The bypass reshapes ceasefire incentives, OPEC+ strategy, and Iranian leverage.
The original Petroline capacity was roughly 3.2 million barrels per day (mbpd) and upgraded to 5 mbpd after expansion in 1992, however only about 1.3 to 1.4 mbpd was loaded onto ships at Yanbu as most was siphoned off for domestic use. The docks at Yanbu have a capacity to upload ~4 mbpd. By “re-tasking” the Natural Gas Lines, they created a theoretical maximum of 7 mbpd, which was finally achieved today.
~2 mbpd is still being siphoned off.
This leaves ~ 5 mbpd available for export, but since the Yanbu docks are hard-capped at ~4 mbpd, we still have ~ 1 million barrels every single day with nowhere to go.
Regarding the claim about “offshore loading” you are spot on to be skeptical. I cannot find any evidence to support the Single Point Mooring buoys required for offshore loading at Yanbu and must apologize for my confusion on the subject.

David, you previously posted an emotion, actually a prophesy, that in the end all nations will turn against Israel. Ezekiel 38 appears quite a fit in these days. I’m certain you will also agree that your enemies are not going to forget the pain and damage the 2 “satans” have inflicted on them. They’ve been at it for thousands of years, (even before they were Muslim) – so anybody who thinks a “cease fire” or even a “peace deal” is going to subdue the DNA of revenge is wishful thinking.
Then, we also have the prophesies of Zechariah 2:11 and 8:23, and others that speak of nations that “attach” themselves to Israel – These appear to be spared the great destruction that awaits the “enemies of God”.
More importantly, we need remind ourselves the reason God took Israel out of Egypt – and IMO why he was moved to mercy. “And YHWH the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;” Key words here being “seen, heard, and know” – IE because the people “cried out to God” because they finally understood that ONLY the intervention of the Creator could save them.
However it was not a freebie – there were conditions attached, a couple of lifestyle changes to be made, plus a somewhat forgotten command – to be a “Light to the nations”. Something I feel in today’s world can only be achieved by the potential of Israel and the US to live up to that challenge – and will only be achieved when they as nations once again “cry out to God”.

For reference, the Kingdom of Jerusalem held Jerusalem for about 88 years. 1099-1187. Got control of Jerusalem back for 15 years. 1229-1244. But was wiped off the map of the Middle East in 1291 when Acre fell.
Modern Israel founded in 1948 gained control over Jerusalem in 1967.
We are coming up on Israel’s 78th birthday with 58-59 years controlling Jerusalem.

According to my understanding, Israel’s chastisements may not yet be over. But I believe that the greatest Jew who ever lived will preserve Israel from annihilation. We will not have world peace until the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
When I listen to the “blather” of Muslim nations and compare it to statements from Israel, I FIND ISRAEL IS ALREADY A LIGHT TO THE NATIONS. Men hate the light and love darkness because their deeds are evil.
Trump has been very consistent on every point. Our goals concerning nuclear and projecting power with terrorism are not negotiable. He further emphasized that this will end with unconditional surrender. In a negotiation, sometimes you have to walk away to make your point. Meanwhile, Israel gets to deal with Lebanon. The coordination on targets and strategy has been amazing to see.

Trump and the US Ambassador in Israel both thanked Israel for helping with the rescue of the US Airman.
Since the people on the ground there are still there, there is a mask of confidentiality.
But the ambassador specifically thanked the Mossad and IDF.
I can make a safe assumption that the US forces who landed in Iran used a Mossad arranged landing site.
The landing was also far away from the Airman so vehicles and transportation were arranged for sure.
This must have been designated landing area for Israeli operations and Israel compromised the location for this important purpose.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

HAVE A VERY BLESSED DAY !!! ❤️❤️❤️
For the first time in fourteen years since finding God I attended a non-Catholic worship at a “progressive” church. The sermon given by the pastor was good but there was many things that I found quite discerning. Everyone was very friendly, lots of hellos and good mornings where given, several people did not recognize me and made an effort to introduce themselves. However I found the sanctuary to be more like a concert hall than a place of worship,with bright lights and smoke machines and behind the pastor was no alter but a huge jumbotron with two smaller yet large displays on either side. I didn’t see a cross anywhere in the structure and I found the fact that parishioners both men wearing caps and women wearing large hats to be tacky and a of lack of respect for someplace where one is to worship the lord.
Despite all the failings one might associate with the Catholic Church I prefer a place of silence where I can not only pray with peace but enjoy the sense of reverence that others are exhibiting.
I will be signing the lease on my new apartment tomorrow or the day after and close by is a Catholic Church with the same name as the church where I was baptized in Mexico. I am not missing the revalance of this and I am looking forward to meeting the parishioners of my future house of worship.
